Will most likely move back to guard along side of Price, just my guess, but hell yes, excited about this pick!
Very happy for Jordan. He gets to return to guard and he gets to return to his native town of Cincinnati. Sometimes the apple eventually doesn't fall far from the tree.

Best of luck, MJ.
This is the 7th Buckeye drafted this year, with more possible.
What's the record for number of guys drafted in one year?

Actually 2004 NFL draft 14 Buckeyes
Love this pick! Second year in a row that the Bengals have gotten a Buckeye who I believe should’ve been drafted higher (Hubbard). I could easily see him starting next to Price this upcoming season!
If he does start it will be at RG. The LG spot is locked down by Boling (at least for 2019). I wouldn't be shocked if they drafted Jordan to eventually take over at LG though (Boling's contract is up after the 2019 season).
A cheap replacement for Boling if Jordan shows he's ready after his rookie year, that's actually good strategy. Boling is good, don't get me wrong, but I don't think he's top ten at his position and will probably get overpaid in the FA market. You would have your center, RT, RG and LG under contract for at least three years.
It would be decent strategy (Jordan is an excellent LG who I think will be fairly NFL-ready coming in).
Very little chance that he starts, Bengals best linemen is their left guard and they just signed a FA for three years from Buffalo at right guard. Of course injuries are always a factor so it's possible though they also have two other right guards that have started games the last two years.
He could start at RG (though John Miller is the favorite to start at that position). This pick could push Alex Redmond (last year's starting RG) off the roster entirely (which he was terrible so I'm perfectly fine with that). I think the plan is for Jordan or Christian Westerman to take over at LG though once Boling leaves (his contract is up after this season).
Congrats, Mike. Playing center helped our team last year and sacrificed a much higher draft position at guard. Thanks for the unselfishness. You’ll do well in the league, esp. playing next to Billy Price again.
You win with people.
And so forth...
9 Units Strong!
I'll probably get some hate for this but I think Jordan playing center really hurt the team. Converting a tall guard to center wasn't the right choice and it opened it up for a converted tackle to play guard (Pridgeon). The OL was too tall, especially on the interior at LG and C and it showed in the run game. I think Jordan should have stayed at guard and we should have rolled with Josh Myers last year.
Im excited for our 2019 offensive line because our guards and center are at proper height and will be able to bend easier and gain leverage on defenders.
Taking your most experienced linemen and moving them to center in their final seasons was an Urban tradition (Elflein, Price, and Jordan are all examples of this). Urban had trust issues with inexperienced linemen playing the center position it seemed. Thankfully Day doesn't seem to be continuing that tradition (he's openly said had Jordan returned for the 2019 season he would've moved him back to LG).
I agree, in one sense you actually weakened two positions because his LG replacement was not near his ability. I can only guess that the other potential centers were so outmanned that the coaching staff didn't think that they had any other choice.
First, congrats MJ!!!
About the move from lg to center. Our line seems to end up in a good place by year’s end. But the off season development seems frustratingly slow. Is Coach Stud on anyone’s radar? He’s a good coach , but maybe not a great coach.
I love having two interior Buckeye offensive linemen on the Bengals line. Nice. I'm looking forward to this.
Success - it's what you do with what you've got. - Woody Hayes
I hope the Bengals aren't drafting him to play center. As a guard this is a steal. I like it.
Billy Price is our center of the future, so if Jordan is playing center something went wrong. He’s gonna play guard
I think Price has center locked down. But it is the Bengals, so who knows.
Tom Brady lost to John Cooper. Never forget.
Price wasn't great last year at center (though I think his week 2 injury really set him back). I expect him to bounce back in a big way in 2019 but a lot of Bengals fans already aren't fond of Price since he was responsible for Dalton's injury last year (due to an errant snap that Dalton had to chase down which led to him reinjuring his thumb). That being said he'll be the starting center this year (with Trey Hopkins likely backing him up). Jordan's future is at LG.
Not unless the Red Rocket likes the ball rolling to him. Some of his snaps looked like he shooting craps.
Weird how in the NFL draft no good deed goes unpunished. Change position to help your team and fall in the draft. Selfishly shut it down and skip your bowl game...move up.
Justice delayed is justice denied....#FTP
Your assumption is that he was valued at more than a fourth round pick his second year in the program as a guard, if he could have went earlier. It was suggested to him by the scouts that he return, he decided not to take that advice.
Had he stayed at guard he would of been drafted higher this year. If he stayed and went back to guard he would of likely been a second round pick.
I don't think he would have projected much higher as a senior than he was selected as a junior. His blocking at C graded out very well, so the Bengals knew they were getting a technician, but not an incredible mauler-which is what a player has to be to get drafted as a G in the first round.
Michigan player plays college ball in Ohio. And now will continue his professional career in Ohio.
Basketball, baseball, and now football? What can't M.J. do?
Maybe the Bengals will draft LeBron in the 6th round.
Jim Thorpe might be available in the 7th.
Rule wakanda for longer than a week
How'd the Bengals get a third fourth round pick, been working in the yard.
They used one of their numerous 6th rounders and their 5th rounder to trade up.
Thanks, new regime actually impressing me as that's not a move you normally see with the Bengals. See if Weber lasts until the sixth and pick him up too. Other than Samples whom the Bengals loved far more than the rest of the league, it's been a pretty good draft for them.
Weber would be an absolute dream pick. If he's there in the 6th we need to snatch him up (though if Cashman and Wilson are also still available I'm considering one of them as well, we need multiple LBs and those guys would be steals at this point in the draft).
Back on top as most drafted program too.
Hopefully all these Buckeyes being drafted influences recruiting positively over the next few months (Day should absolutely use it as part of his pitch).
Great pick and overall Bengals have had a pretty good draft. I wish they would have taken Haskins in the first round and I don't know who the hell that TE they reached for in the 2nd round is, but they've had a couple good value picks at positions of need as well.
Congrats! More Buckeyes playing pro ball together!! Imagine that!!!
Beat everyone, in every sport, all the time!!!
HAHA thats funny trying to compare Jordan and Pace in any capacity
If Jordan turns out to be as good as Pace in the NFL I'd be absolutely elated.
I'm surprised he came out. First Buckeye olineman to leave early since Orlando Pace. He was a 3 year starter and never missed a game. If he would've returned and slid over to guard he could've had a big senior season anchoring our offensive line and went early first late second like Billy Price, Pat Elflein and Taylor Decker.
Excellent pick for the Bengals - congratulations to Big Mike.
