Looking at Dwayne Haskins' Potential Receiving Corps at the Next Level

Crazy to think it, crazier to say it, but the Bengals might actually be the best landing spot for Haskins if they can beef up their OL a bit. They've got a nice WR corps, and youth at RB. This could be best case for our favorite Buckeye signal caller.

Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.

Not to mention an offensive-minded HC for the first time in nearly two decades. Ross obviously has been a disappointment so far but he was also poorly utilized last year by a coaching staff that clearly didn't trust him. He's basically getting a clean slate going into this year with the new staff so I wouldn't be shocked if he turns things around this season.

Indeed.  The skills positions (WR, RB, and TE) are quite good.  Especially when Eifert is healthy.

But man...  if the Bengals draft Haskins, they need to draft at least 2-3 OL as well.  In fact, they might want to do that either way.

Agreed. Haskins as we know flounders behind poor protection and we'd be setting him up to fail putting him behind an offensive line that features Bobby Hart at RT (hopefully Price's struggles from a season ago are behind him and he looks much more dominant in year 2). That being said the thought of Haskins in stripes does excite me. Put a strong team around him and he and Mayfield could be fighting for control of the division for years to come (assuming Mayfield doesn't crash and burn in his second season).

If Miami is truly tanking for next season, it makes sense to hold off until next year for a QB, BUT, i'll be upset if Haskins falls to 13 and they don't scoop him up.

See Miami is supposedly tanking but they also went out and signed Ryan Fitzpatrick (presumably to start). You don't bring in guys like him if you plan on tanking an entire season, you roll with guys like David Fales or Luke Falk as your starter. Fitz will play enough solid games to probably get them to 6 or 7 wins next year which puts them in the middle of the pack of next year's draft. Not a very sound strategy IMO. If Haskins does fall to them (which he likely won't) they need to snatch him up.

I will be irate if hes on the board at 11 and the Bengals pass. In the same breath I will understand because the Bengals have the worse owner in all of sports. I dont think he will drop pass pick 10 though. Hes far too talented and all the junk we are hearing about him sliding in the national media is all smoke screens imo.

Thats loyalty right there if I have ever seen it. WRs, OLs and RBs love a guy and put their body in the line for guys like this. Dwayne is young but he really does have all the elements of a franchise QB. Just hoping he goes somewhere they can get developed not snuffed out.

Washington trading up to #5 to draft Daniel Jones? What a Washington thing to do...They could stand pat at #15 and still get him.

I think that's all smoke and if the 'Skins trade up, it's to draft Dwayne.  But I hope they don't succeed because there's no WRs, no running game, and I don't think there's any O line in Washington for Dwayne.

The NFL where receivers aren't just blockers.
Hoping our young QB has tremendous talent to throw to, great blocking, great run game and the best coaches.

I expectGiants to be the team. All the hype is smoke and mirrors to confuse other teams and to keep us reading and reacting. Simba is a franchise QB for the first team smart enough to take him, and he's better than K Murray, except at baseball or the 40yd dash.

"and he's better than K Murray, except at baseball or the 40yd dash".

How do we actually know that?...Murray has refused to run the 40yd dash both at the combine and Pro Day...but I will give him the nod in baseball ;)

I agree (Giants). Are they going to wait until 6 or trade up a spot or two to make sure they're not fooled by a more proactive team who's willing to add a 3rd round pick when exchanging picks.

Love the idea of the Bengals drafting Buckeyes, absolutely love it. But if this team goes the first two rounds by drafting Haskins and McLauren instead at least addressing one of two MAJOR needs (OL and LB), I’m going to be very disappointed.

I Truely expected NYG or Bungles to pick him. Without any doubt in my military mind will both these teams regret this decision. In both cases he had a chance to learn under a future HOF qb and in Cincis case Dalton is a ho hummer, but in both cases it would have given him time to learn playbook and speed of the game. DC, you could see the disappointment on his face. He’s being thrown to the wolves with (imho) a shitty oline and a crappy management.

This is just my opinion which doesn’t mean much, but however I do know the business side of this game. Which is another discussion for another day. It saddens me this game we love so much has become just about dollars and sense(yes I meant that).

I wish I had enough helmet stickers to start a thread which is really chapping my chaps, about entering portal that has essentially created free agency. There is only one thing that the NCAA wanted when this got out of hand, and I suspect it’s this. Every year there is really only 6-10 teams that have a shot, Bama, Clemson, OSU, Sooners, Georgia, TTUN, ND, USC, Texas, all others are shooting for that one year where stars align. Second tier teams LSU, FSU, Oregon, MSU, Wisconsin, PSU and the likes might get a shot once every decade. My point is NCAA is trying to level the competition, and I don’t blame them. I read somewhere where all the teams in the playoffs were 9 teams. ND, Georgia, Bama, Oregon, FSU, Oklahoma, OSU, Clemson and MSU. While we as an upper level school think this is great, the other 135 teams )?) think this is a sham, looking at you UCF 2017. I’ve rambled on long enough, just wanted to open some eyes on the state of college football.

Wishing you the best Dwayne, you deserve it!
