Great video. He didn't spend time talking about anyone else
I don't get the NFL hype surrounding Murray, Haskins will have a better NFL career.
Is it NFL hype or Espin hype?

Who "spins" the best? ;) That's your winner...……...

Its just part of the Kingsbury experiment, which, imo has a slim chance of being successful. Also, Murray is riding Mayfields coattail based upon what Baker did with the Browns, the heisman, etc etc, blah blah. Murray is no Russel Wilson and THAT is a fact. Russ cut weight for combine and Murray added prob as much as he could (not the only reason he shouldn't be compared to Russel).
This whole thing has rubbed me wrong, he clearly played the Combine game, then didn't even perform at OK pro day, prob because HE ALREADY KNOWS HE IS GOING TO AZ. Yet I watched some mock draft on NFL channel, yesterday IIRC, and they were dogging Dwayne for having a draft party in his home town.
God > Family > Buckeyes football
Wow. What can anyone add to what he said? Go Bucks!
So can someone answer this, why tf is him only starting one year a big issue if it’s not for kyler? Kyler has more red flags than Haskins if you ask me.
I don't understand it either. Murray and Haskins had similar 2017 and 2018 seasons, but maybe it is due to Murray starting in 2015 for a few games at Texas A&M? Even then, he still performed pretty bad that season.
This is definitely where I parked my car.
I think the year that Baker Mayfield had coming out of that same system is paying a bigger role than talked about in Murray’s status
Still not giving a damn for the whole state of Michigan.
I am a 100% D. Haskins fan however, body of work is a very reliable predictor of success in the NFL. Rather, it might be more accurate to say players with less than 19 games starting in college and a high draft selection typically under perform in the NFL. That being said, I do think that Haskins will be very successful if he lands in an even remotely good situation.

I know that movie is bad, but man is it a personal favorite of mine.
I love those movies. 10/10 meme
Pick up your feet, turn your corners square! And DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE!!!
he believes people should be knocking down doors to get Ryan Day in the NFL
DONT YOU PUT THAT EVIL ON US LOUIS RIDDICK. DONT YOU PUT THAT EVIL ON US.
Proudly dispensing unbridled arrogance since 1983.
It is bad enough the Buckeyes lose most of the Junior / RS Sophomore class to the NFL all the time!! Leave our coaches alone!!!! Lol
Gotta love it.
At this point OSU is a better gig than many NFL jobs. Plus Day is probably getting paid more here than many NFL FOs would be willing to pay a coach as inexperienced as him.
I've never heard of Louis Riddick but I like him and he clearly knows his stuff.
I hope the Bengals are listening to this! Giants seem to be the leader. But, not so fast---the current Kiper/McShay board as of noon today has Giants going defense at number 7. If Haskins is sitting there when the Bengals pick, they better take him! It all makes sense---Haskins can learn from Dalton. Dalton has this year and next on his contract and the Bengals are not going to pay a great amount to keep him. Plus--how cool would it be if the near future featured the Mayfield Browns vs, the Haskins-led Bengals. Then we would have a Battle of Ohio big time twice a year. It seems so logical. And that scares me because the Bengals seldom use logic about anything!
All the QB leaks associated with the Bengals could be BS just to throw the teams in front of them off (for example TB and Denver both could use upgrades at QB and are projected to draft LBs so all the QB talk could cause those teams to panic and snatch up Haskins and/or Lock which could allow a player like Devin White to subsequently fall to Cincy at 11). I think it's likely they'll consider Haskins if he's there by the time they pick at 11. But drafting him won't help the team this year at all and that's what the biggest question is going to be. How much do they care about what the team does this upcoming season. Drafting Haskins would tell me they don't care all that much about the upcoming season and I doubt the new HC is going to be on-board with putting winning on hold for the next two years (not every coach is as patient as Brett Brown).
Denver will take Devin White if he's there at 10. But if he's gone and Haskins is still on the board I think denver tries to do what Chicago did a couple years ago with Trubisky. Draft a QB, and start the veteran QB until the rookie can push him off the field..
Tho we face another death march of a season, fear not fellow river denizens, the sun will rise again, as it always does, over the Ohio valley.

I hope Coach Day is in Columbus for awhile.

Who the hell is Louis Riddick? Should I put him on my list of people to give a shit about? I don’t have much room.
Riddick played safety in the NFL from 91-98 including three years with the Browns. Was never a starter or star player.
Got into scouting on 2001. Was Director if Pro Personnel for Washington for three seasons and same position for the Eagles from 2010-2013. Has been with ESPN since 2014.
Not the end all be all but I’ll take what he says over the guys who run draft sites that never played a down in college or pros and never worked for actual NFL teams on a scouting and personnel capacity.
He’s somebody who knows his shit. Doesn’t mean he’s always right... but no scout is. Should you give a shit about him?... That’s your call. But he has the credentials to judge football talent in an informed way.
My eyeballs do too.
I’ve been saying this all along: Ryan Day is a offensive savant and will elevate Ohio State to a new level. As good as offensive recruiting was under Meyer Ryan Day will have Ohio State in position for all of the top skill players in the country.
But ESPN.... grumble grumble grumble.
You better give a shit about Riddick this guy continues to handle the top high school prospects in country so to have him a fan of the good guys give a shit he is imperative to keeping the gravy train rolling.
Riddick is speaking the truth and that's refreshing for ESPN, but as far as this site goes he's preaching to the choir. We all have seen what Dwayne can do. He's a magic man.

I think the Giants want Haskins and are sandbagging and spreading a lot of BS.
I think anyone who passes on him will be kicking themselves.
Stay golden, Ponyboy.
Sometimes we overreach in drawing comparisons, but this situation kind of reminds me of the whole Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers scenario. A team gets excited about a guy (Murray) who fits their team and they will expect to come in right away and win. Vs a guy (Haskins) who will fall down the draft board a bit (maybe giants maybe Washington), but will get to sit a year or two learn the system and probably be set up for more success down the road.
This is what happened with Smith and Rodgers and it's been well documented Smith saying being thrown right into the fire with expectations of winning despite being on a bad team negatively impacted his mental approach.
For Dwaynes sake, I'd love to see it play out this way. Kid is incredibly talented and even tho his time at tOSU was short lived, I am lucky to see him play for the school I love.
Walter Football had him going at #30 to the Packers. As a Packer fan, I would be over the moon. I don't think it happens, but this is a funny QB class -- teams seem all over the board and have their favorites -- so who knows.
As a Packers fan myself, I also would be super excited to see him get drafted by them. I always want the pack to take Buckeyes. But if I'm honest I dont think it makes sense for them to draft Rodgers replacement just yet. They just signed him to the extension and there are a lot of needs on offense and defense still to support him. I see a lot of mocks predicting we take one of the Iowa TEs or a WR and maybe an Olineman, which I agree seems most likely and makes most sense.
I've seen quite a few rumors re: GB taking a QB with that 30th pick -- apparently they really like Drew Lock as well. I think the thought process is that the 1st rder allows them to hang onto a QB for 5 years, so they could take their time grooming the guy.
But I'm with you, I think there are quite a few holes that they need to fill and taking a QB now after inking Rodgers to a long term deal might be a bit premature. FWIW, that same Walter Football mock had them taking Hockenson at 15, which would be fine with me.
Good share. I am really excited to see how Haskins does in the NFL. I can see how his skill set is much more compatible with the pro game, where guys like Murray have skill set more compatible with the college game.

I don't disagree with his statements about Haskins, but he is also touting Devin Bush as the best player in the draft. So there's that...
