Just as long as he doesn't try to flip Paris Johnson to attend LSU, good for him. GO BUCKEYES !!!
But did he throw?

Thanks for sharing that clip. I am happy for Joe Burrow and think he will have a terrific year at LSU. Go Bucks!
Looking forward in seeing how he does again this year-
Enjoying daily the back to back ttun beatdowns.
Burrow played against six top-20 defenses last year--Miss St. (2), Bama (12), Auburn (14), UGA (15), Miami (18), UF (20). I'd say his numbers were pretty good when you take that into account, and he looked really good at the end of the year.
I'll always root for Burrow unless he's playing against OSU or playing in a game where we needed LSU to lose for a playoff spot.
Go Jeaux Burreaux'...wish him the best down there at LSU. Nice video
I wish him second best, the best I reserve for the Buckeyes.
You mean, Geaux Jeaux Burreaux. . . . Nice videeaux.
So original...i'm not sure I've seen a play on words like this before. Well done.
All the best to "Ross" (wasn't that the name given to him by JTB?)
Get 'em Jeauxy B!
I think Burrow was John and Haskins was Ross.
Yeah, I think those were JT's nicknames for backups as a kind of quasi-hazing routine (I think he had a name for Tate, too, although I can't remember what it was).
I've never been a big fan of sorta frat-boy belittlement, so, you'll have to give me a pass when it comes to giving JT a new label... maybe something simple and accurate like...
As in, yeah, JT struck it big in the record books, so my jab at him isn't meant to be a total insult, but at the same time, he's also history as in...he's gone... along with his silly-asss nicknames (and IMHO, good riddance).
Actually JT started it only be cause Burrow had the same first name as him, so he called Burrow John (which I believe Joe and John are used as nicknames for many kids with the name Joseph). Burrow was the one who gave Haskins the nickname of Ross and Haskins continued it with Baldwin. Not all JTs fault, he just didnt want another Joe on the team even though he preferred JT.
I saw a UFO once.......it told me to have a goodyear!
I can't believe Marotti called Tate "Chuck" instead of "Tot" or "Oberyn" ... so many better nicknames for that guy
Martell does have some resemblance to the "Chuckie" doll, so there's that.

God Damn thats some beta shit... Men really are going extinct.

Can’t give a nickname? You must be fun to spend time with.
Guess I made there fart boys mad, and now, sigh, I won't be invited to any super fun front boy parties. Why, I might even get voted down again, too.
Your comment sounds like some tri lamb shit. Ogre still exists.
Ohio, the greatest state in the Union!
I think you're right
Best wishes for Jeaux in 2019. He may be the best all around college quarterback this season. Think of the positive qualities of JT Barrett but with a arm.
Too much time spent at the North Heidelberg rather than the classroom. SSD 68-72
If you compare Barrett's passing stats in 2017 to Burrow's in 2018, I think you will be surprised by what you find.
The most "loud mouth, disrespect" poster on 11W.
So im guessing youre of the minority who wouldve traded 2 mediocre seasons of Joe for Haskins one season of awesome? Otherwise why are you bringing him up?

I'm not sure that's quite what NorthBerg said, but I can't speak for him. Personally, I just know that I would've traded Burrow for Barrett, and more than that, I definitely would've traded Barrett for Haskins (more so than Burrow) in Barrett's final year--and I said so at the time.
Sure, Haskins might not have been ready--we'll never know--but in Barrett's last two years, he performed exactly the way that I (and so many others) predicted--or at least I know for sure that everyone in my circle of Buckeye fans unanimously agreed that Barrett was a very good QB, and yet, the Buckeyes were potential National Champions who would be severely limited by Barrett's severe limitations, and IMHO, that's exactly how things played out.
Sorry to have stirred the pot. My thought on Burrow for the 2019 season is that he is complete in the sense of having possibly the best combination of football saavy, leadership, along with running and passing skills. My praise for Jeaux no way means I think he is as physically gifted as Haskins, Tua, or Lawrence.
The game was broadcast on the SEC Network with announcers. It was the week before ours.
One loss years are one loss years, what difference would have it made with Haskins or Burrow as QB? Other than style points it made zero difference in the end, right? One even has to wonder if JT's skill set would have allowed the offense to grind it out a bit more and protect the HORRIBLE defense a bit by keeping them on the sidelines. I will admit that Haskins was more enjoyable to watch but he brought us zero extra wins than JT's average.
It's all speculation but one loss with a good defense and one loss with a bad defense are two completely different horses.
Joe's a great guy and we knew he was a great QB. He just wasn't as good as Dwayne Haskins.
Sad that LSU seems to be in a much better (or at least steady) QB situation than The OSU this year.
Success - it's what you do with what you've got. - Woody Hayes
how do you figure that? they're in the exact same boat we are, if Burrow goes down they're probably fucked.
I figure it because Burrow actually played a few games for them last year and looked pretty good doing it. Or maybe that's a bit of an understatement.
What we have is a complete unknown. What 43 passes or something like that for a different team. Sure, Fields is probably more talented, but he's got a lot to prove.
The cold reality is that, unless Burrow beats Bama, which I don't see happening this year, LSU fans will be disappointed. Furthermore, with Texas in Austin and Auburn and Florida on the schedule, this could easily be a 9-3 team. I hope that Burrow does well, but I don't see this as a program making quantum leaps with him at QB.
Fair assessment. But I would add, for me personally, regardless to how LSU performs, my interest is in seeing Burrow doing well individually!
He was a victim of circumstances in that JT came back for a 5th year, and Haskins was a phenomenal Talent, thereby there was no window for Burrow to get meaningful minutes.
With the handwriting on the wall, he read it, made his choice and handled his departure with class. So yeah, I’ll root for Burrow the person and player, while also cheering for the Buckeyes. For me, they’re not mutually exclusive.
I agree. The consensus from everyone (on this board and through college football) is that Burrow is one of the good guys. I think that some Buckeye fans and, especially Burrow-lovers, participate in some Burrow deification in some cases in order to continue the JT argument from the '17 season. That's when the argument gets tricky for me.
Your last point is salient.
The last time Burrow and Haskins squared off in a Spring game, the stats weren't even close - Burrow looked far sharper and in command of the offense. However, Spring games are just glorified practices and what's important is how the QB position plays out on game day. There's no question that Haskins was the better QB (and I was a huge Joe Burrow fan, as were many others) and it was good to see the situation work out so well for both Joe and Dwayne ....
All that to say, I no longer draw conclusions from Spring games, although one thing was very clear to me following this years version - Garrett is going to be the next Michael Thomas - DAMN that kid can catch !!!!!
Joe Burrow played with a 1st-year crappy offensive coordinator and an offensive line that could not block... even when they left NINE players in to block! LSU is poorly coached on offense from what I saw last year.
Still, Joe acquitted himself very well for only having fall camp to get acclimated. BTW... 2 QBs transferred out from LSU before their season started after Joe came in and secured the job.
Joe wouldn't have put up Haskins numbers passing (he would run more than Dwayne) but he would have looked better in Ohio State's offense last year. I think he'll do even better this year (though the LSU coaches will hold him back again).
You win with people.
And so forth...
9 Units Strong!
Happy for Joe. I have LSU friends and they were happy with him last year and look forward to him being better this year. FWIW, just read a piece on Letterman Row by Ryan Ginn and it was excellent regarding quarterbacks at other big powers leaving early. Worth a read.
"Age wrinkles the body, quitting wrinkles the soul" Woody Hayes
LSU's gonna be great this year. They return a ton of talent. All they need is to open up the offense a bit and I think they have a shot at the SEC title, but I doubt it'll happen.
He looked decent last year. Heck of a competitor, but really struggled with accuracy at times. I hope he does well, but I moved on a long time ago.
statistically one of the worst QB in SEC.Baldwin is next. These guys just weren't great players.
Half the people on here thought Burrow was better than Haskins and now they can't talk for all the crow they've eaten. Watch Fields blow up and Baldwin fizzle out into obscurity.
Not only that... Tate is going to find out that competing against a position room full of 6-4 through 6-7 strong arm QBs, and a coach that has relationship with him, and his family isn't going easy, and sometimes may come down to football politics
I agree buckborn. These guys on the board can’t get pass there fandom to accept reality. There is a reason these guys weren’t highly sought out. I mean no harm to Baldwin or Joe B. The fact is Joe B is at the very bottom of the SeC in Td passes, he also wasn’t heavily recruited. While he did have some good offers the whole nation was not after him as a QB1. Neither was OSU. The same with Baldwin. They were not plan A guys. However this board has infatuation with and refuse to acknowledge that they aren’t OSU title leading talent level QB.
Why do I feel like I read this thread about fifty times? As soon as I saw Joe Burrow's name I knew what it would be. I liked/like Joe and hope he does well at LSU. I think the coaches made the right decision and so did Joe. Playing behind that awful line that LSU had and playing in the SEC, I think he did really well. I have no idea why some feel the need to run a kid down that was from Ohio, graduated from OSU, wanted to be the starting QB? Oh, he wasn't very good...Clemson and Bama didn't recruit him. He still has the all-time record for TD's in a high school championship game. Yeah. I know it was just high school...spring game...garbage time...can't be any good...SMH
Why do I feel like I read this thread about fifty times?
and there’s another JT Barrett thread out there for you too. It must be your lucky day.
Despite the high cost of living, it still remains popular.
I wish the guy well and did before but honestly do not care that much.
But some do. He’s a tOSU graduate that is playing at the one of the highest levels of college football. While it’s not at Ohio State, it’s fun to hear about him for some of us.
What we have currently available is what we have available.
Odd but I had a dream last night about Burrow being a phenomenal punter.
Have a few LSU friends and they and the fan base are split on Burrow. Some just dont see enough upside in his play to beat the elite SEC teams. Despite being solid last year Burrow was very inaccurate. But he was simply their only option.
This year fans want to see better completion pct,. less ints. Great kid and good leader and hope he does improve.
Sounds suspiciously like a former QB that Burrow sat behind.
Joe was a solid QB last season. Let's see what he does year two but I didn't see much last season that would make me think he will be one of the best QBs in college football this season. In 6 games against top 50 D in Miami, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, MSST, and Bama Burrow went: 51% 1TD-4INT, 2 rushing TD.
He had half his passing TDs in three games against Central Florida, Rice, and LTech. From what I saw he didn't have the arm strength to beat fast defenses. He's smart and tough but unless he improves his arm strength I don't see that changing drastically.
I feel similar to this take. Plus one.
