If only we played against Big12 defenses...

Gone are the days when Justin Zwick just accepts his backup role, or Stanley Jackson is forced to split reps with the guy most thought should have been starting over him anyways.

Those days are gone. So, we can either get busy living, or get busy dying.

I regret I have but one upvote to give.

i wonder whatever 'forced' 'this' to 'happen'....    ;-{)}

But I do know that each day... passes.  Yet we may be inadvertently cutting ourselves off from each when we 'say'... "gone".

We may be... "The Unforgiven"....   Just a rumor!   LOL

Wait, Cornelius was a PWO? That's crazy.

Granted, he played against Oklahoma's terrible defense, but he threw for 500+ yards against them. He was a 2-point conversion/missed extra point away from out-dueling Kyler Murray in Norman.

That's impressive, on Yurcich's part.

And Toledo still sucks.

They shoulda beat Oklahoma... but that’s when I came away wishing we had a little more of OkSU’s offense. Yurcich and Cornelius impressed me. Get a lot out of lesser talent.

It is well known Yurcich is a very good QB coach as is Day. If we can get a grad transfer or some diamond in the rough that they can develop it would help long term. Short term we're probably going to have ride with the hand we have unfortunately.

I agree. I think they just have to ride or die with Fields. They're a contender with him, and they're not without him. They're also not a contender if they play with one arm tied behind their backs.

So, this situation is a lot like Woody's saying about passing - when you pass the ball, three things can happen and only one of them is good.

We just have to hope Fields doesn't get injured, and not worry about the what ifs.

IBS&G:   looks like your "probably ride" depends on who become 'the long and the short of it' at any given daily snapshot.

This is 'well known' but at times even when i somehow feel it, i do not 'get it'.  ;-{)}

Don’t sleep on Kevin Wilson either... he put more QBs into the league (including from Indiana!) than Urban or Tressel.

Wilson did a lot with his Indiana teams. They were hard nosed and got after it. Their real issue was they didn’t have the depth and talent to hang with really good teams for a full four quarters, and a key injury jere or there could devastate their entire season. But he knew how to attack the defense. I don’t think we’ve seen him put his print on the OSU offense yet. I’m hoping this is the year.

If Day and Yurich are as good as we all keep hearing, you'd think QBs would want to play for them... Makes you think.

What are you talking about? Day had a month to recruit as Fields transfer rumors swirled. At the time he had Martell, Baldwin and Chug. We were literally in great shape 90 days ago. Why would we need another? Or why would a QB want to sign and be 3 or 4 in depth chart?

HS
SaltyD0gg's picture

Let me clarify, I think Day is great. I have no idea about Yurich. But if guys really thought they could be developed here, you'd think they would stick around.

They want to play. They lost QB battles. It has nothing to do with development. How can you not understand something so simple lol

QBs do want to play for them. That's how they got Justin Fields. The issue is that the other QBs know Fields is ahead of them and they'll never see the field. Players want to play.
