Love that the refs do some coaching in the Spring game. Seemed pretty obvious the ref went up to Victor over on the bench and said he wasn't going to call it but don't do the pointing thing... and they had a laugh..
Expecting big things from Victor this year..
Really liked that Victor sort of short armed a long one early and then Fields went over to him on the bench and they talked and then next series they hit this long one.... good QB leadership.

Great ball but wasn't it a touch short?

Maybe. But I’d say that run just sealed it.
Yeah it was. The 4th string DB was just beat badly so Victor was able to go get it.

A touch short is fine especially when the receiver has beaten the defender. It's hard to hit a receiver in stride when the ball travels 50 yards in the air.
So this is the Ben Wilson show.. absolutely love seeing Ben Victor step up after seeing Garrett Wilson do his damn thing.
Veni, Vidi, Vici. I came, I saw, I conquered.
The Buckeye Way
Wilson...good Lord. What a talent.
I survived Cooper, and I hate Tai Streets.
That play was terrific. Fields' arm is BAAAD, in the best way. And Ben made a really nice adjustment on the ball. The pointing and follow-on "mentoring" from the ref was hilarious, too.
I'm mostly concerned about our DBs and LBs any info on them?
If you die before you die, then you won't die when you die.
Sweet play! More to come from the both of them for sure.
Buy the ticket take the ride.
At the time I thought the pointing was a question. As in ‘you gonna make me run this in or are you gonna lay off & let me jog it?’ But, yeah, don’t do that in a real game.
Do I spy Tyler Friday?
Great play and off to a good start!
BUT, couldn’t tell who the defender was?
Back to the ball again, I do realize it’s spring ball and he was beat, but it seems I’ve seen this happen before?
It was number 42, I believe. There’s two 42s listed on the roster.
West Palm Buckeye
It was walk-on cornerback Lloyd McFarquhar. Either way, he was probably doing what he was supposed to do once he was beaten that badly. There's no time to turn your head if you're two strides behind the receiver.
Should of just grabbed and held...like some other cornerbacks.
If you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear.
I read Fields and his 98 yard TD. Assuming it was a run play I was about to be let down. A pass for a huge gain is magic. Great job. Thank you.
Ball travelled about 45-50 yards in the air with a lot of air under it. Plenty of arm strength for Fields. A little less loft on it and that probably goes 60 in the air.
It wasn't really a beautiful throw... underthrown. Great play by the receiver, for sure, bad play by the DB. Still not convinced for Fields throwing. Some nice runs, though.

Underthrown and not that impressive except by the receiver and his run after.
