Justin Fields and Chase Young are finalists for the 2019 Heisman Trophy.
Haven't watched Gill's tape in a long while, probably made me somewhat complacent on how dynamic he is as a playmaker.
I think we should have a 3-man rotation at the HB this year, all three players seem to be more than capable and have some experience.
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
It sounds like we may have a 4 man rotation: Hill, Gill, Saunders, and occasionally Ruckert.
The Ruckert element is especially intriguing for me. I was clamoring for them to line him up in the slot last year and just let him be a nightmare matchup for LBs and Safeties.
Gill has some really nice hands!
I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.
"That doesn't necessarily mean another year on the sideline for Gill. Ohio State liberally rotates its wideouts throughout the course of every game, and if Gill continues to tighten up his route-running and prove his worth in practice, he could easily crack that rotation this fall."
Not just for Gill to see PT/have a spot in the rotation, but I think using the weapons/changing personnel up is where Day can differentiate from Urban. We didn't see that unless out of total necessity in the past, and although I say play your best that doesn't mean the best applies in any/every situation.
Man...get me to the spring game.
Gill is probably the most dynamic runner with the ball of any player on the roster. He has a bit of a slight build, I’m sure he has added some bulk since arriving. But he is very fast and his acceleration is incredible.
Hope to see him utilized. Reminds me of Michael Wiley.
Gill is what people want McCall to be.
Who ISN'T going to get snaps at H this year?
Leave one wolf alive....and the sheep are never safe
The funny thing is . . . Gill is the only player on the roster currently listed as "H-B."
As of now, at least, McCall is a RB. Gill is competing with two other H-Bs that are both more like "slot receivers" - Hill and Saunders - than they are Campbell/Harvin-type H-Bs. So, Gill should have a good chance to carve out a niche in 2019.
If/when Ruckert plays as a second TE "H-B," that will be a total different animal.
So many weapons......
The pain of discipline or the pain of regret, take your pick
We definitely need to see this kid on the field this season. He may not have Campbell's top end speed but he is absolutely deadly in the open field.
Fields of Dreams
Jaelen doesn't have the top end speed of Parris but is definitely more shifty. A better comparator is Jalin Marshall in terms of athleticism. Just the kind of physical tools that Hartline can mold into an amazing route runner. Do it JG.
Good to see we don’t have any divas spouting off. With the talented depth, these guys show brotherhood and patience. Hope he gets some time soon. Patience pays off.

I think guys are seeing they can split reps and still get drafted so they are buying into the team mentality. If Webber can get drafted in the 3rd round that would be a big help to my theory.
Proof is in the pudding.
That is a strange saying.
With Day, Wilson and Yrchich(s) running the offense, I would be surprised if we didn't see multiple players and uses of the "H" this year. Runs, short passes, TE passes, jet sweeps, swing routes, all to multiple players who can exploit matchups on defense. Just when they've figured out how to cover one H, throw a completely different look at them. Belicheat has been doing this for years; no reason we can't, if we only will.
Either JG or DMC needs to get some mega-snaps this season. Hill is a great possession receiver - a classic slot guy who will play in the NFL. But he is not the Samuel or Campbell style home run hitter, and that softens the defense up and makes the LBs jumpy when someone can take a quick route and go to the house.

Of course he will have a breakout year. Silly to even pose the question. Homegrown.
carpe diem attitudes...
The annual breakout player. Ranks up there with using the tight end.
All you can ask for is a chance. If he gets 6 or 7 chances per game and 2 or 3 are big gains. The next opportunity should be rewarded with extra attempts. Make the most out of every opportunity.
Gonna be a great year.
Zone six is in good hands.
And hopefully, good hands are displayed by all of them!

Unless they plan on moving KJ back to H-Back (which I think he's better suited being used as a true possession WR) or using McCall at H-Back instead (I think he plays a Curtis Samuel-type of role tbh) I think there is a chance we see Gill contribute to the offense this season. I think he'll be used more as a WR though, kind of similar to Dontre Wilson in his final season here.
I know Ryan Day's job isn't always going to be easy, but man is it going to be fun.

Don’t wreck the Ferrari.
But do safely drive it fast. Very.
Dude is pretty small. I do look forward to seeing him play though.
He may be a year away but the talent is there to be special here at OSU. The skills set on tape is fantastic.
