DB Luke Hill visiting for the spring game
Teammate of Jarrett and Sherman
Have you heard anything new on Sherman? I haven't heard his name mentioned in a while, unfortunately.
Fields of Dreams
I think unfortunately UGA might have leapfrogged us here for the moment. Long way to go.
big need to get back on campus
hopefully urban being somewhat involved helps
This is will be short but Jt was not short
Check that....Luke is now former teammate of Rakim and Mekhail and now attends St Frances in MD.
Looking forward to another strong class.
Enjoying daily the back to back ttun beatdowns.
Interested to see what Rakim Jarrett does. Said he was ready to commit, Vols seem to feel confident but CB still in favor of Bucks. Would be quite a get to reel in him and Fleming.
Honestly if he goes to Tennessee I wouldn’t even be mad, just would be a very misguided decision.
Yeah tell him to ask Trey Smith, Drew Richmond, Jarrett Guarantano how they “bought in” at UT and their careers have been torpedoed
If Ann Arbor is a whore, what's Harbaugh for going back to her?
I rarely have anything to offer news-wise (I'm nowhere near as croot-savvy as most of you here), but appreciate the details as they come in.
Helps melt away the offseason.
You Got Barbecue Back There!?!?!?!
Interesting development on a visit that went under the radar.
Greg Biggins has a 247 article on CA DL/LB Jordan Banks who visited over the weekend and said we blew him and his dad away on the visit. Biggins says Jordan's coach believes we are his top school now.
Finally found Banks' film from last year:
Hybrid player like a Smalls or Sherman. Article from Birm said he was listed at 6-3 245.
247 says he’s 6-1/228 but Rivals has him at 6-4/245. According to Rivals, his HS has six 2020 defensive players rated between 3-4 stars.

Wiltfong CB Miyan Williams to OSU
The world is yours
Pretty convinced he's just trolling our fanbase at this point after reading his reasoning behind the CB. Just said he ultimately believes he will be in our recruiting class. Didn't offer any explanation as to why he believes that for a kid none of us have heard about. So once again I'm gonna wait till guys like Birm, AE, and Givler chime in on prospects from OH before giving this credence.
Saw Williams play against Massillon in the state semis this year, seemed like a guy that was good but not great and would end up at a place like Kentucky or Indiana. Like him but don’t know if they take him over Trayanum as RB2 in this class.
Thanks for the info.....ok a kid most of us have never heard about in connection with this class.
Run on CBs for Bresee to Clemson. Assume he's a longshot at best at this point. Also couple for Milton to Oklahoma. Hopefully OSU can make a move on his upcoming visit
Yeah Breese seems all but a done deal to Clemson and things trending away for Milton, Jarrett, and Sherman.
It's always intriguing how much fluxation there is from the onset of the cycle then through the middle and end. This class seems like it'll end up much similar to the 2019 class but will most likely be top-10 with higher numbers. Still good stuff for CRD first full cycle. If he wins and wins big next season we’ll start seeing some 2017/18 style classes. He just has to build that trust and show everyone he’s an elite head coach
Cavazos/Gray at corner, Carmody/Atteberry OL, 2 of Flemming/Jarrett/Rosemy, potentially Bijan Robinson at RB, Henry on the DL. On top of an extremely talented class already. A little too soon to give up on this class not being top 3.
Breese always seemed like a long shot to me. Jarrett hurts the most if they lose out on him, less so with Milton. Seems OSU is ahead for another quality RB in Robinson
I don’t think as fans we should be expecting a top 3 class from a guy who has never been a head coach before this year, I think we should temper expectations a little this year and just hope to land somewhere along the lines of and 8-15 range type of class. If he does that and can keep us atop the Big Ten again this year his first, I think 2021 could be a really good year recruiting for us.
Why not expect a top 3 class? CRD has show he is a good recruiter, and we're in favorable positions for A LOT of top prospects. I think top 3 is a very reasonable expectation. 8-15 range is what they expect up north, and we hold ourselves to a higher standard than them.
It's a beautiful day in Columbus, Ohio... and TTUN still sucks.
I might be the only one but i hate "CRD". Ive been seeing it a lot and a ton of other fan bases do that with their coach but just write Day.
Thank god people werent writing "CUM" all the time for Urban
The Life Of PABLO
I've always wondered what UFM stood for when Urban was coach. Ubran Fuckin' Meyer?
I think some people see it as that and some see it as his initials. Urban Frank Meyer.
I hate it too. It's just Day. Can we all get on the same page?
I actually did put CUM when Urban was first hired, but they stopped letting us do that on the Scout board. Also PoFD was banned, apparently offensive. Both of those are better than when people would put "UM" for Urban Meyer. That was always incredibly confusing.
I second, or third or fourth the use of Day over CRD. Please.
YES. His real name has the same amount of letters, so CRD doesn’t even shorten it.
I think top 3-5 is realistic. Basically, in the same group as Bama, Georgia, and Clemson with OU, Texas, ND, and PSU just behind.
Well most years, Clemson takes a class of about 15-19 guys, and they just got done taking 29 in 2019 because of a huge senior class, so I think they’ll take their usual small class of under 20 guys. While they’ll probably have the highest average in the country, I doubt they’ll be top 3, maybe not even top 5.
Probably true. I didn't look at that aspect. More about trends for who is competing for the upper echelon kids.
i dont get the crd = coach ryan day
crd is the same amount of letters as just typing day
Kirby Smart did it at a school with less success historically in both the short and long term. No reason if we have a good year on the field we can't land at least a top 3-5 class.
Well Kirby Smart did it a bit differently ;)
dont forget the legislation he got passed either.
Kirby is in a state with top 5 HS talent year in and year out, the only "rival" in state ran a triple option and its southern border is Florida which is a top 3 state of talent while coinciding with FSU and Miami being outright terrible and Florida being below their recent standards.
Which were all things Mark Richt had going for him, too.
No coach has done less with more than Mark Richt. The state of Georgia is a demographic monster.
Cruitin' was never Richt's problem-at Georgia or Miami.
i think expecting a preseason top 3 class is a little absurd for Day. he doesnt have the cache of urban, saban, or dabo yet.
thats not to say he cant close out with one but there are still quite a few questions about how the team will perform and if they put it together on the field this season there will be a lot of excitement headed into signing days.
There’s a lot more that goes into a coach’s cachet than just his W/L record. Urban set the table nicely, left the cupboard full, and I think Day's more low key and approachable personality suits him really well. Throw in things like SAD, FNL, RLW and other Urban staples, a great culture, assistants who are solid recruiters, an AD who’s willing to pitch in, Pantoni and his staff, and a great university in a great city and there’s no reason to think 2020’s cache can’t finish in the top 3. Day doesn’t have to do it alone and we shouldn’t expect him to.

as well as others we don't know about yet I'm sure.
Jordan Morant said on Instagram that he will be in Columbus April 6th.
Bill kurilic said after talking to Luke hill, he wants to be a buckeye but isn't sure the staff will let him commit when he visits. Because of others higher on the board
Why the hell not? Kid is the #9 CB (Overall #123) in the nation. Are they that confident in others committing to us?
If we aren't high on him, that just means he's going to Clemson haha.
Agree...not sure I let him get away...Take him, Gray and Lejond...chase the others...Lejond might even turn out to be a safety
Stay golden, Ponyboy.
Word is Clemson stopped recruiting him. Might have something to do with why he's no longer at St. John's with Jarrett and Sherman. Rumor is he got kicked out.
If you recall with Urban culture was a big emphasis on a kid being a take (Micah Parsons). Part of that decision making with a kid fitting into the culture is how much of a headache do they project to be if at all. If the rumors with Hill are true and he also can't commit then it seems CRD :) is continuing that philosophy.
Well if the rumor is true, hard pass until he can prove it was a mistake.
we also committed a violation while recruiting micah parsons
Wasn't a take before that
The staff does not recruit players based on their 247 rankings. They evaluate the players and create their own big board. Ohio State isn't just going to take a player because they are ranked as a top 10 corner on 247. The staff recruits who they believe are the best players at that position.
Realized I was a little bit of a sarcastic dick in my initial response. But I'm tracking what you're saying.
Perhaps Coach Hafley's view of his skills and the view of the starhanderouters are not exactly in line-Hafley likes other targets better.
We could take 4 CB this cycle and I don't think that would be crazy at all. If Hill wanted to commit and the staff could get Lejond as well soon I wouldn't mind having those two in the fold and then go after Gray, Davis, Ringo, etc. I'm no expert on Hill's game but noticed there is a wide gap between his 247 ranking (3*) and composite ranking (123 overall). Perhaps the Buckeye staff has him closer to the former than the latter if they wouldn't take his commitment now.
I saw that gap also. With the lack of DBs in last year's class, we really can't afford to shoot for the stars and miss out on all of them then be left scrambling again. I feel like Lejond and Gray are sure things...hopeful on the others.
4 star OT, Zak Zinter, has arrived on campus.
Really interesting article about Jack Miller and his recruitment on The Athletic for those inclined to check it out.
A link would be sweet!
Veni, Vidi, Vici. I came, I saw, I conquered.
The Buckeye Way
Yes, like all articles at The Athletic are.
Ok then. When you post a link to a pay site, tell everyone it’s a pay site so people don’t click it if they don’t have a sub.
thats pretty standard fare...
It's pretty standard fare that most people know The Athletic is a subscription site. It's almost reached meme status. If one click inconvenienced you so much, I'm not sure there's much helping you.
Also seems like that may be why BGSU mentioned it was Athletic but didn't link to it in the first place, which could have served as an additional heads up.
thanks for your input. I’ll go ahead and save people the click, you won’t.
You do you.
keep fightin' the good fight. +1
Birm discussed why OSU hasn't offered Jaheim Thomas. Last time they saw him he was 6'4" 200 and wanted to play LB and when compared to somebody like Craig Young(a 3 star)he is much less athletic. He is now listed at 6'5" 220 and could fill out to play DE but still wants to play LB. His best bet for an offer would be as a DE but with his senior year approaching hasnt dedicated himself to it or even said if he would play that in college. OSU isn't phased by other schools offering or what Paris and Damion want. If he wants an offer he needs to commit to playing DE and come camp and prove he is athletic enough to make up for his small frame. Until then he may not got an offer.
I was watching his tape yesterday and count me as someone who isn't all that impressed. I don't think he's as good as Oats from last year, for example. Will be interesting to see if he does take the Young route and come to camp to earn an offer.
Paris visits Georgia again. Kid is definitely getting us his sky miles geez
You'd never know he was still attending high school with all this trekking around.
Not ideal, that is for sure, but it is what it is. For whatever reason, Georgia is on fire in the recruiting area recently. Clemson makes sense, heck Alabama makes sense. Georgia does not make as much sense to me.
Have to hope he sticks around. Who knows?
Last time the UGA insider said don’t take this seriously until he comes with his family and the visit isn’t attached to other visits. That is this visit. He has also been retweeting/liking the dozens of “pull his scholarship” messages OSU fans direct at him everyday
— Paris Johnson Jr. (@ParisJohnsonJr) March 26, 2019
responding sarcastically to Demetrius Knox saying he is going to unfollow him since he posts so much about other schools
Another Ohio (cincy kid) who is disrespectful of upper classmen. Remember when JACKSON Carman was trashing JT Barrett. We all know how that unfolded.
I don't necessarily think saying, "Oh no" qualifies as being disrespectful.
It's absolute sarcasm. If anyone thinks that Meech's tweet, plus the response are truly serious need to get their heads checked.
I want a fall Saturday in Ohio Stadium..
Concur. Sounds like playful banter if you ask me.
I wish OSU fans would be smarter about this:
1. Adults tweeting at high schoolers is creepy
2. Bitching at high schoolers for taking advantage of all of their opportunities is dumb, unless you are trying to drive them away.
Let the young man take his visits (I sure as hell would) and have some fun. You tweeting at him won't help anything. In fact, I'd say the opposite.
I agree the adults are ridiculous. Anybody saying we should pull the offer of the best lineman in the country at the biggest position of need to protect our pride probably eats crayons. But not good to see interactions with players being negative
If Andrew E. is not worried about Johnson then I'm not worried either. I'm not going to freak out about losing him until one of our recruiting experts starts to worry.
I agree any adult who is not a osu player should not be tweeting him. But the fact that he is disrespecting Knox who has actually put on a college uniform and given his sweat and blood for the program I don’t like at all. If he plans to come here he needs to learn his place in the pecking order and you don’t talk to 5th year seniors who are about to graduate that way. This kid has a lot learn. At this point he is amazing but I don’t even care anymore. Get some kids who value the school and going to come in and respect their upper class men.
We have no idea what their relationship is like, and you assuming he is being disrespectful. Unless we hear more about our guys being legitimately pissed about his visits, you guys are overreacting to his response.
Going to see Georgia once is an opportunity, going back a second time with family seems a bit more than just an opportunity.
To me the issues are not with a recruit taking their visits (I would as well, though I may have waited to commit). I think the rub is that you have a top ranked Ohio kid that initially gave of the impression he was going to the leader of a recruiting class that is seemingly publicly visiting OSUs top competition every weekend.
I’m cool with the games. I get it. But it’s way too much. He’s acting spoiled and now disrespecting players. I hope other teams take notice too before recruiting him. If I’m OSU, I’m out. I am not dealing with his antics
C'mon man. Plenty of OSU players have been giving him shit about what he's been posting, but as soon as he responds he's disrespectful, that's a bit of a double standard don't you think?
Ummm... plenty of osu players giving him shit already means he’s being disrespectful and shouldn’t be in the damn locker room. Causing issues before you even get in the locker room? Nope. Next kid. Don’t care what his ranking is. Don’t be a cancer to the room and clearly other players don’t like what he’s doing. Act like this when ur uncommitted.
It's been mostly playful and respectful banter from what I've seen so far. I will say that I think he should decommit if this is what he wants to do. No point in saying you're committed to a school when you're actively visiting other schools, posting pictres, etc.
Or they all know the game, all know that Twitter is full of idiots and social media and fan sites are full of people that get all riled up about any and all posts and thoroughly enjoy getting a rise out of people.
If 17 year old me had social media, I would be the biggest damn troll of all time knowing that dudes in their 40s would get their panties in a bunch about every one of my posts. If nothing else, all the responses and attention give people even bigger egos.
"What a primadonna, I'm going to go follow him and tweet him and retweet everything they say - that will really show them!!"
Umm. Any idea how many of the players giving him s___ did the same thing?
I wouldn't blame the staff one bit if they pulled his offer. It is one thing to take your visits and what not, but to be posting the kinds of things he does about other schools while being "committed" is very disrespectful. I don't care if he is an Ohio kid or what his ranking is it's a bad look and does nothing to help his possible future teammates.
I very much wish twitter and social media didn't exist. I don't have a twitter(never will) and never post anything personal on Facebook.
Yeah, they aren't doing that. Sometimes the school holds the cards and sometimes the recruit does. If you want to be a school who bitches, moans, and cuts ties with prospects because they visit other schools then you can be Michigan State.
OUR PETS HEADS ARE FALLING OFF
Dude. It's recruiting. He doesnt owe anyone, anything. Playing hardball with our top in-state prospects is a one way ticket to failure. Top tier programs are built on one thing: recruiting top tier talent.
Also think this is a game these kids might not wanna keep playing. They are trying to force OSUs hand and get us to offer their friend. Don’t care. That’s disrespectful to Day and wouldn’t surprise me if they weren’t offering bc these kids don’t control who gets to play at osu. Coach day does. What happens if this kid was a 2 star, unranked, whatever. Not good enough to play here. His friends want him here so they almost protest to get him here? Osu supposed to just be offer him for his friends to come? No. Doesn’t work that way and they’ll learn soon enough when they try and go somewhere and that school cuts his scholarship last minute or forces him out.
If the staff doesn't think that Thomas can play for them they shouldn't and won't offer him just to get his friends. If they don't get some kids because they didn't offer their friends I am fine with that. Only take kids that you think fit your system and earn it.
Just been banking on this tweet with all the visits:
I also remember him saying, "The best in Ohio, play for Ohio State."
Ok now seeing this tweet I must ask, does anyone think he will pull a "Martell" and do the exact opposite of what he publicly stated?
Nothing would surprise me in the recruiting game. Until the day the kid signs nothing is for sure and this year showed that it doesn't even end there with the Bru McCoy situation.
No me Johnson is the type of kid that tests the boundaries to see just how far he can go, to me he is gonna see just how far OSU will let him go before they make him stop. Either he is trying to force his way out of this class or thinks by him playing this game he is trying to force OSU to offer his friend. I think the next time he visits Day and company set him down and tell him to stop the games or they are cutting him loose. I don’t know the kid but he is really portraying himself as selfish and a potential harm to his team no matter what team it is.
IDK the kid but...
But? But so, that's one word too many for our "portrayals".
The story of this 'portrayal'... rhymes with 'betrayal'.
Paris Johnson went 'all-in' for Urban Meyer. Do we remember that? What he said, how he said it - no other visits, recruit for his team... his word was his bond?
Do we remember what Urban Meyer did in return? How he called his favorites ahead of time... and did not call Paris?
I'm not saying who's right and who's wrong. I'm asking: DO YOU REMEMBER what Paris Johnson said and did... and then what Urban did?
Do you? Or doo we doo our 'portrayals'?
I want to agree with this post. And I thought I did.
But...I’m not sure I get it.
The “doo we doo” part lost me.
tyler... the doo part is a snarky earthy aside to an old country refrain [Roger Miller, "doo wacky doo wacky doo..."] characterizing our immature, judgmental responses to a recruit's comments and behavior...
...rather than looking for evidence and suggesting reasoned possibilities, and input from 'credible' sources [not the 'incredible' ones].
I love that we spend 1/3 of all of these threads speculating on Paris Johnson’s twitter activity /s.
What else will fill the void Zach Harrison left behind?
Anyone else wonder how the hell those 3 JRs in HS can freaking travel so much?
my parents could barely afford to send me to McDonald’s at that age....
Nope, not really high on my list of concerns
they are traveling by a van from what it looks like so relatively inexpensive just a lot of time
That makes more sense, but yikes that’s a ton of windshield time.
A few notes:
- Henry Gray's visit to Ohio State was home run. Henry and his mom were really sold on real-life Wednesdays and Jeff Hafley's ability to get him to to the league. Henry plans on taking all of his official visits before making a commitment at the Under-Armour All-American game. He also mentioned that the Buckeyes will get his final official visit.
- Mitchell Melton visited campus on Monday and Tuesday. He loved the visit and defiantly has Ohio State high on his list. His mother and father are both from Ohio so there is a definite tie with the Buckeyes.
- Rylie Mills said that he will be taking his official visit to Ohio State on April 26-27.
In case anyone is wondering these notes are brought to you by Birm.
Proper info sharing etiquette. +1
Wait, I thought this was a Paris Johnson thread.
Melton was another under the radar visit. Would love to land either him or Jordan Banks from CA.

Awesome visit @OhioStateFB! That’s a big boy
Any news on a second 2020 QB target? Seems like we’re in on a bunch of high level 2021s but haven’t heard anything on 2020 guys
I feel like the staff believes that Miller is their guy for 2020
I spend the majority of my school day on 11W
I think there might be a graduate transfer after Miller signs ala Chugonov.
Please, guys, cut the kid some slack. He's just being responsible by considering all his options.
If he's this active on Twitter, there's reason to think that he reads this message board. Kids are impressionable and don't realize that the loud, censorious voices on here are not representative of those of the average Ohio State fan. You Bucknuts are giving him considerable pause about honoring his commitment.
I am with you on the first sentence of your post. Less so by the end of it.
I hear what your saying but I highly doubt that kid has time to browse 11warriors. Hes a high school athlete who travels the country every weekend.
Unless he's driving, road trips are a perfect time to check in on 11W ;)
Good news: every other fan base he checks in on is as crazy as this one. You think the Georgia message boards aren't an absolute disaster zone?
There may be some kids who make decisions because they don't like what fans say and do on the internet, but not many, and not any who we want.

Quick updates on the following recruits:
Henry, Thomas, Williams, Milton Jarrett.
247Sports: Latest Crystal Ball picks favoring Ohio State.
Per Birm, Turner Corcoran is no longer considering OSU. He wants to stay closer to home
On my phone so I’m not sure how to embed. Sorry.
East Coast living with Ohio roots
From Birm:Cincy trio will be in town this weekend. Staff may not have known about recent Georigia visit, they had been communicating about everysingle visit, LJ sit down with Henry and family and will be hoping for a commit, sit down with Jaheim to talk about what his future would look like says if Jaheim is willing to camp this summer to figure out his position an offer could be given this weekend. Corcoran let the staff know we are out of the running. Aaron Lewis despite being a 3 star is very intersting at 6'5" 235 he is very imposing and could be one of the two DEs we will be taking this class.
I don't care if Jaheim isn't good enough to play here offer the damn kid stick him at DE and hope he bulks up. Paris Johnson to Georgia could be a real concern if he really didn't inform the staff about the visit. If Day can lock up Henry and Paris then a developmental player under LJ and this strength staff is fine. Paris is the best player in the state, the best at his position in the country, and the biggest area of need on the team. Alabi and Bowen are gone after this year, Thayer Munford will have a decision to make, and Wray transfer rumors have been around, PJ may literally be one of our starting tackles next year.
Don't extend an offer to Thomas to keep Henry and Paris. We are THE Ohio State. /s
I agree. No recruit is bigger than the university.
I agree that no player is bigger than the university, buy it's like Thomas is a below par player, so the offer is worth it in my opinion, the kid can be a project of anything. From my understanding there is just discussion about where he wants to play and where the coaches are projecting him.
So many typos above. Sorry, but you get the point. The offer is worth it.
He might not be a Big ten player but I don’t think it’s fair to call him a below par player. Dude will get a full ride somewhere
You don't offer a player if you don't see how he will fit in with your team. That reasoning is so stupid.
You have 85 scholarships, the Oline is important, we don't have good tackles, there is a chance we literally won't have even a below average tackle on the roster next year, you use two scholarships to guarantee you bring in the best player in the country at the position that is needed, the negative is you bring in a low level 4 star to develop at DE and hope it works out. You have to be stupid to not understand the logic. There is a reason NFL teams spend extra money of their salary cap at important positions for really good players.
Thayer Munford? NPF? Max Wray? All of those guys are below average tackles? Come on now. That comment is ridiculous. If Paris Johnson doesn't want to be in the class because we didn't offer his friend, then he's not worth being in the class, plain and simple. But I don't even think it's going to be like that. Johnson is in the class, with or without his friend. Same as Henry.
In my first post I said Munford has an NFL decision to make at the end of the war and he is better than MJ. Wray has had transfer rumors and still has his black stripe. NPF will be one tackle and we have another spot. I think it's worth using one scholarship to bring in a 4 star developmental player at our deepest position(he will be sandwhiched by Zach Harrison and Jack Sawyer) to lock in the second highest ranked prospect in Ohio history as the leader of our class this weekend. Weather he would flip to Georgia if we don't offer Jaheim is a different story but I don't see the reason to risk it. The Bengals are paying Corey Glenn 7 mil a year, I would be very happy if they paid 25 mil for Nate Solder. It's a pretty simple concept.
I've yet to hear a transfer rumor about Max Wray. Are people just assuming he might transfer because we aren't recruiting his brother or something. Again there's no substance to that. It's too early to tell if Munford declares early for the NFL draft. Johnson is still a Buckeyes commit and everyone would be shocked if he decommitted. We just brought in Dawand Jones who will be a stud in a couple of years, and have Trey Leroux committed and are pursuing a couple other tackles like Carmody and Baker. Tackle depth is fine if we land one more guy.
You are all over the map...
wtf does the nfl have to do with this?
the parallel you are attempting to draw (poorly) doesn’t make a bit of sense.
but hey, don’t let anyone stop you from turning this into a Johnson/Thomas thread.
The parallel is pretty simple. College and NFL teams have limited resources to obtain players. Paris Johnson the high end left tackle is being compared to Nate Solder another high end LT. An NFL team dedicating a large amount of resources to Solder would be a smart move but people are saying dedicating 2/85 scholarships to Paris Johnson is bad. That seems rather silly. The lack of depth at OT and the extreme depth at DE only increases increases the need of obtaining Paris and makes the loss of a DE spot to a better prospect less detrimental. It is a rather simple parallel let me know if you need it simplified more!
Keep making bad comparisons and hijacking this thread.
You are doing great.
Woodshed I posted an article from Birm and summarized it and then gave my own opinion. It was then said I was stupid and what I was saying made no sense. I then responded to those people. I disagree that that is hijacking
I get your point and it is very valid one. Anyone that understands resource management and risk management should also get it.
No, putting 25 million on a OT would be an idiotic move for the Bengals, that loses you at least two other potential starters cash so you give up three very good players for a single great player, not wise at all. You would be MUCH better off with two 12 million dollar OT's
Buckslan, you were doing so well until you mentioned Max Wray who still has his black stripe. Otherwise I agree, we shouldn't offer a player not worthy in his own right and his friends can step off if they don't like it. However, I don't think it will be an issue in the end.
He hasn't lost his black stripe because he was hurt for most of last season with a knee injury.
This. Does Babb still have his for the same reason?
I tried bum juice once, it was bitterly disappointing.
I think there is a bit more to him not losing his black stripe.
I mean Max and Kamryn were both hurt all year so how could they have lost their black stripe. How could they have earned the right to take it off if they were not playing.
Completely agree. I don't see how people dont see Day missing out on 4 out of the top 5 Ohio players a big deal. This is his first real recruiting class. Offer Thomas and call it a day.
For all of you debating back and forth about what the staff should do re: Thomas and what it means to Johnson - I riddle you this: what if the staff eventually caves and offers Thomas. The staff has now reversed course on its original position, and OSU's lack of a backbone now rubs Johnson the wrong way and he decommits.
Perhaps, Paris (and Henry, by extension), are actually incredibly wise and shrewd beyond their years, and are actually testing the resolve of OSU's new staff to establish a benchmark for how they see this staff handling recruiting and personnel issues down the road. The staff offers Thomas, he commits, and then Johnson and Henry move on to play for a staff who they now have more confidence in.
Still want OSU to offer Thomas for the sole reason of securing Johnson and Henry?
You're over thinking things way too much. If Thomas gets offered, it means Day and Co. Like what they see and think he has a spot on the team, that's it.
No. It could very well mean the trio successfully leveraged him the offer lol
You really think that’s what Thomas wants? To coerce his way into getting an offer he hasn’t earned by leveraging Henry and Johnson as his bargaining chips? You really think that’s what Henry and Johnson want? If Thomas gets an offer, it will because Day thinks he’s worth it. Or at the very least that’s what he’ll make everyone believe.
I definitely dont think they should want to do it that way, but these guys seem to be taking the package deal seriously. Would you at least admit their actions suggest there's a possibility of this being the case?
First, let’s see what happens; let’s try not to get too far ahead of ourselves. Second, the worse part about recruiting is that it seems to lack a filter. Everyone and everything seems to be fair game. I wish Day would publicly ask Buckeye Nation to refrain from tweeting recruits, much the same way basketball coaches will grab the mic to implore fans not to throw things on the court. Whatever your motivation may be, it’s not helping. Third, Johnson’s antics are growing old, starting with him acting all pissy and butthurt because he wasn’t told Urban was retiring beforehand. I’ll bet most of the team and a lot of the staff didn’t know beforehand so what makes him think he’s so special? As if they’re going to trust that news to anyone outside the program, least of all a 16 year old high school kid with a twitchy thumb and a Twitter account. Lastly, until he decommits, he’s still Ohio State’s to lose.
Guys - I'm just spitballing here and trying to offer another perspective on the situation (however far-fetched it may seem). I fully acknowledge that the talk regarding these 3 players will not go away on these boards, and I was just tired of hearing the same 2 narratives/perspectives over and over again. Spice things up, ya know?
That is some Buck68 level of wisdom.
You can say that again...
Pain heals. Chicks dig scars. Glory... lasts forever.
The #4 ranked Corner, Clark Phillips III, has just arrived on campus. The California native is a major target for the bucks at CB.
This is an extremely welcome post...especially after everything said immediately before.
Tough to pull this California kids but was listening to radio show yesterday about how so many Cali kids are trying to get out of PAC12 area bc they don’t even have a PAC12 network or anything. Nobody watches the games it seems.
I don’t think Ohio State's appearance in the Rose Bowl can be underestimated in terms of the impact it’s had in SoCal kids.
It could be there's no longer a top tier program out west.
From someone who lives out here it's a combination of a few things. Yes, there PAC12 Network is MIA. Yes, no Pac program seems to want to rise to glory. NFL production hasn't been great out of schools like UCLA and USC recently. No consistency in any PAC coaches. All the Power football is being played Oklahoma and East.
I think Cristobal could do some things at Oregon. The #5 2019 recruiting class is nothing to sneeze at.
He’s in a great position this year. Not only should Oregon be favored in the conference, the continued struggles of the LA schools opens the door to the top players in California. And while some will go east, many will want to stay out west.
Ill be back in Columbus tomorrow!!!#GoBucks pic.twitter.com/XjUIr7Toe3

Does anyone see Georgia or Bama taking all three of Johnson, Henry, and Thomas? I don't. If it's going to be anyone, it'll be us.
There are a lot of programs that would take all three, including Thomas just to get Henry and Johnson. When you factor in the odds of how long guys stay, who don’t jump to the NFL or don’t get a medical redshirt or homesick or in the coach’s doghouse or flunk out or get lost on the depth chart, you’re lucky if 15 out of 25 guys in a class actually play through their eligibility. That’s 40% attrition. So on the surface, one could argue that taking a shot at a developmental player like Jaheim Thomas (or Dawand Jones or Trey Leroux) is a decent risk that he’ll be one of the 15 who stays but at the very least, if he ends up being one of the 10, have you really lost that much? The problem seems to be he doesn’t have a position, which compounds the risk.
I agree, Iowa, about there being schools that would take all three; I just don’t think they would be schools Johnson and Henry would choose. I’m thinking UGA, Bama, and Clemson. Tennessee might be the wild card.
Everyone needs to chill out about the Cincinnati trio. First off, Ohio State is not going to offer Jahiem Thomas if they don't think he is good enough. It has nothing to do with Ohio State not wanting to "bend" to get Jahiem. If he doesn't fit in the program, we aren't taking him. Everyone is also acting like Jahiem, Paris, and Darrion are a package deal. They would obviously like to play together but they are merely just taking their visits together as friends. If Jahiem doesn't get an offer, Paris and Darrion won't rule out Ohio State for that reason. On the other hand, if we offer Jahiem, it doesn't mean that we are going to land Darrion and Paris for that sole reason. They are going to choose the school that is best for themselves. If Paris and Darrion believe that Ohio State is the right fit for them, they will commit regardless of where Jahiem goes. These kids are choosing the school that will prepare themselves for the NFL and for life. They WILL NOT sacrifice their future just to play football with their friends. I do believe that Jahiem will eventually get an offer and possibly this weekend when he visits.
Regarding Paris taking visits, I think everyone needs to calm down. Paris is still committed to Ohio State for a reason. But that doesn't mean he isn't exploring his options. He is making the biggest decision in his life to this point and is going to consider his options all of his options before committing. As a fan base, we see these pictures and get mad. We can't forget that Paris is a 17-year-old kid who is having fun on his journey across the country. It is fun to feel wanted by a coach/university, to explore new places/schools, and try on new swag from different schools. That is the dream of a young aspiring athlete. It is smart for him to enjoy the process while exploring all of his options because he is not locked into Ohio State so why not make sure that he is making the right decision for HIMSELF. In the end, I believe that Paris will be a Buckeye but I don't blame him for evaluating his options in order to feel confident that Ohio State is the right choice for him.
Stop making sense!
A string of CB’s coming in for Kendall Milton to Oklahoma. Wouldn’t be surprised if he was a silent commit. Seems the insiders know something on this recruitment with all the CB activity.
Milton has a visit set up for Ohio State. It will now be interesting to see if he ends up making his way out here or not.
So Oklahoma is going to get 2 of the top 4 RBs? Because isn't Jase McClellan committed to them?
Flipping out is a little overstated. But, Parris went to Georgia on a visit, raved how awesome it was, then went back with his immediate family. If that doesn’t concern the Buckeye staff then they aren’t very bright.
It is only a matter of time before he decommits. You could see it coming from a mile away if you looked carefully.
I 100% disgaree. Just because he enjoyed another school, doesn’t mean he likes that school enough to decommit.
The way it sounds is he liked it enough to go on a second visit with his family, without notifying the OSU staff about it.
Yep, I think there is cause for concern.
How do we know that the staff does't know about it. We don't know the communication between Paris and the staff. They may have already had a conversation about his visits. We just don't know.
I don’t remember which day it was, but Birm had it in one his dotting the eyes that they staff was unaware of him making the second visit to Georgia.
Paris is Emory Jones!! All about attention!! I know tackles are important but I don't want those type of players in this program. Said same about carman and Jones.
See this is what bothers me. Paris committed to Urban. Wasn't told about Urban retiring. He also die hard recruited for us until then and even afterwards. Also said Day and team didn't reach out to him right away when taking over. I think the kid was Loyal for quite sometime until we where not 100% upfront with him. But nobody want to say that they just want to bang on a teenager. I bet all the people that told Jackson last year he was dumb for leaving and the Urban rumours where not true feel silly or Does Jackson feel like he made the right choice.
I don’t care what Paris does, but I’m against the line of thought that for some reason he should have been the first to know about urban. The first to know should be coaches, then current players, then top 2019 kids, then top 2020. By the time the current players find out, it’s being reported. So spare me the hurt feelings that he wasn’t the first call. Also think he could have handled it like cavazos, but it’s his life.
You realize that Cavazos was notified by Urban right?
You realize his dad and urban have a prior relationship right?
Yep. Did you? You said Paris should have handled it like Cavazos, but the situations are very different, partly due to the notification that Cavazos got and Paris didn't.
That isn’t logical at all. If anything, in your situation cavazos would be the one committed (because he found out) and Paris would be the one maybe recommitting soon. My OPINION was He probably should have decommitted then took visits. But like I said I don’t care, it’s his life choice. I just think if he wants to stay with OSU, he’d be better off recruiting the best talent to join him. If I’m another top ranked kid I don’t trust him 100% that he’s staying so his pitch isn’t really strong.
Looking like Milton is a done deal to Oklahoma, interesting that they already have 5 star and #4 RB Jase McClellan. And another player from the west coast spurning the Pac12
Done deal because of a few crystal balls in the month of March?
Yeah, lets not raise the white flag yet.
Yes, 7 crystal balls and the OU insiders said its looking good for him to commit. I do not know if he will change his mind but it looks like it is a done deal for hi. To commit to Oklahoma.
Early signing day is in 9 months. Lets not get too carried away. A players "top school" will change numerous times before making a decision.
Milton is from Fresno-Oklahoma has a bit of a pipeline from that city for some reason-Milton leaning to the Sooners doesn't shock me in the least.
I'm sorry but Josh7 is the only one making sense here.
First, we had a coaching change. I respect ANYONE's decision that was either committed to OSU or was interested in OSU to explore other venues. What you committed to or had interest in has changed. Enjoy the process and find the right fit for you.
Second, what a high school kid does or doesn't do on social media shouldn't matter to anyone except maybe the OSU coaches. And because of my first point, they shouldn't even care THIS year. Next year could be different but this is a transition period.
Third, some of you take this a little too personal. There is absolutely nothing you can do to impact a recruit or a coaching staff. You can make yourself look like an idiot trying to but it will have zero impact.
False, if I say it, write it or think it...they will hear it. /S

One part of the Cinci Trio is officially on campus.
Appears the parents made the trip as well, certainly a positive.
The offseason is the longest season.
Players visiting this weekend:
Blake Fisher (OL, '21)
Lorenzo Styles (WR, '21)
Donovan Edwards (RB, '21)
They better just have Larry Johnson take over recruiting for Paris.
Dude what are you talking about. Ohio State is doing nothing wrong. Paris is just exploring his options and enjoying the process. That is such an uneducated statement. We have no clue about the communications between Paris and the staff. We also don't know how Paris feels about each school. You have no basis of saying that Ohio State has done a bad job recruiting him.
Meaning he has a way with recruits and really connects. Let him seal the deal.
Well, I’m not saying they are doing anything wrong, but to say I felt confident with the o-line’s coach’s ability to seal the deal would be a lie.
11w March: Paris is just a kid exploring his options
11w when he decommits: OMG what a selfish kid, shouldve done so a long time ago. #jacksoncarmen2.0
I don’t think you understand. I would be be mad if Paris doesn’t commit to Ohio State. But I won’t be mad AT Paris for not committing to Ohio State. There is a big difference.
By the way, I am in agreenence with people upset when a kid who is committed goes looking elsewhere. Im sure those who aren't would be perfectly ok with your wife exploring other options, right?
I think you'll find a majority of people on this thread don't have an issue with Paris visiting other schools. Most reasonable fans understand that there has been a lot of change at OSU since he first committed so visiting other schools just to be certain isn't an issue. I think the degree to which he flaunts those visits on social media is what is ruffling some feathers.
But, regardless, let's stop comparing a non-binding commitment by a teenager to play a sport at a school to being faithful in a marriage.
Im sure those who aren't would be perfectly ok with your wife exploring other options, right?
That is an absolutely terrible analogy. A better one would be someone who's accepted a job offer, not signed anything that's legally binding, and then starts thinking maybe it's not the right fit and keeps looking. The difference is none of that shows up on message boards or in social media.
Nah, my wife signed her LOI
Lol....more so at the down vote of your joke. Seriously, I thought that was a good one.
How do you go about the process of looking for a new job? Do you quit your current job before interviewing for a new one? Maybe when you interview with a new company, you find out that your current situation is better than if you left. The kid is just doing his research. People need to stop making this a big deal. If he chooses OSU, great. If not, we'll find someone to replace him.
This is 100% spot on, with exception of the last sentence. You cannot replace a kid of his caliber, nor the optics of losing the top OL in the state again. We'll weather it, but it's not as easy as just "finding someone to replace him"
I think a lot of people thought OSU was bigger to recruits then Urban Meyer. People got to accustom to losing out on a player like Jackson and Urban last minute getting a player like NPF. It was Nick and Urban and everyone else when it came to recruiting. Lets hope we knock it out the park this year on the field I think that will help us recruiting at a high pace.
The good news is I think Day has alot of QB and WR wanting play for him and Hartline. The amount of Pro we've put in the league at CB, OL and DL we shouldn't have trouble getting any elite recruits when where thing at some of those areas. Cause OL and DL elite recruiting is what wins championships.
I think the bigger problem here would be comparing your wife to a 16-year-old but hey that's just my take.
When I walked in this morning and saw the flag was at half mast I thought, "Alright, another bureaucrat ate it." but then I saw it was Li'l Sebastian. Half mast is too high. Show some damn respect.
Lots of DVs being thrown around becase you guys dont like peoples opinions.
Welcome to the new 11w
It’s not really new
Just a reminder, they’re a pretend currency that doesn’t matter.
You don't have to like everybodiy's opinion. Just saying.
I have never commented on these threads much, but in the past few these threads have become a cesspool of overreactions and fighting back and fore. Can we just get back to enjoying bits and information on what's going on around Ohio State recruiting? Enjoy the ride and celebrate whoever wants to be a Buckeye.
The above is true, not sure when but at some point a bunch of newbies came here and started this crap.
The class threads use to be truly about information, and if there were 10 new comments it’s because some recruiting news or smoke broke. Now they are people bickering back and forth.
Why do you people waste your time arguing with each other online? Do you really think you are gonna change the other person’s opinion?
I’m a newbie. And I resent that.
I’m going to downvote you now...
Gee Scott is also on campus today.
BM5 with Bill Kurelic:Jaheim offer watch in effect doesn’t know if he will be. We aren’t getting many LBs after the haul last year and Mitchell Melton is higher on the coaches boards. Thinks Paris will be buckeye but isn’t a done deal at the moment. Cameron Martinez is visiting and should be watched, BK said he is interested in the Michigan schools but really likes OSU would either be a DB or slot receiver and we should keep our eye on him. Opening coming up on Sunday other than the usual names 2021 Donovan Edwards is somebody we really want. Expect the class to be a minimum of 22 but could be higher.
Cameron Martinez is an elite athlete and would love to see him developed by Hafley or Hartline I know we are in on bigger fish for both receivers and DBs but if he is the fallback option I am happy. Man I would love to be a fly on the wall for the Jaheim conversation.
Expect the class to be a minimum of 22 but could be higher.
Considering we have 19 Seniors and Dobbins/Young/Okaduh all as pretty likely to declare for the NFL, I'd be pretty upset if this class didn't get to 22 lol. I'd put money that this class gets over 25 and ends up with 26 or 27 guys. Every year without fail there are 4-6 guys who leave the program that weren't expected in the preseason.
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
Martinez is a decent option as the second QB--not his primary position because he's not a great passer but he knows the position and could play it in a pinch. He'd provide a nice change of pace as a wildcat.
How does Martinez feel about no offer to Thomas?
One of our top TE targets, Lukas Ungar commits to Stanford.
Must have read the article about Ruckert at HB lol
Guess he doesn't want to be a glorified tackle. Oops, did I say that?
So he went to Stanford? I think it's safe to say he will block more there than anywhere else.
Huh? I feel like Stanford has a Mackey finalist more often than not, lately
If used right Ruckert could change the perception of tight ends at Ohio state. He could go down as the best in history.
Stanford is TE U-- it had more TEs in the NFL last season than any other school. Their TEs last year combined for 78 catches, 1,132 yards, nine TDs and accounted for 33% of Stanford's total passing yards, 29% of its receptions, and 31% of its passing TDs.
That commitment is probabably not football related, and it is a smart decision. If it were my son, I’d be proud of him. Good luck.
Right, losing a recruit to Michigan, Alabama, Clemson, or just about anyone else sticks in my craw. But Stanford? I can't say I'm going to mock anyone for making that choice.
Since when is attending Stanford for free a bad decision?
I literally see 0 comments saying or inferring it was a bad decision.
Jesus, guys, stop giving upvotes to posters who takedown strawmen
You don’t think mocking a kid for choosing Stanford over Ohio State because “it's safe to say he will block more there than anywhere else” when all other evidence shows the TE is a more integral part of Stanford’s offense than Ohio State’s isn’t ill informed and rebuttal worthy post? Even if he never catches a single pass there, the degree alone is worth it. If people are going to post stupid shit and no one responds, what’s the point of allowing comments in the first place?
No one mocked. No one said it was a bad idea. One person didnt understand they use their tight end in the passing game. Some one even called our use of the tight end a glorified tackle lol
Some one even called our use of the tight end a glorified tackle lol
Guilty. Didn't realize the fire storm that would start, and I was mostly joking. Mostly. ;)
Gee Scott with Rob Sims
If you don't know former Buckeye Rob Sims is a huge reason why Gee is a Buckeye. Rob took in Gee's dad when he had nothing when Rob played for the Seahawks I believe. Really great story of humans being great to each other.
Gee's dad with a tweet endorsing CRD.
Says he can't wait for his son to play for him and that he's real.
Could this be a potential recruiting violation? I haven't heard this story before and it is awesome sounding.
"I'm not going to lie. We're anxious to be a part of a matchup like that. It's two states that love the game of football." -Jim Tressel
Are you actually being serious?
I'm not too familiar with the story but yes. I was just thinking about The Blindside from the little knowledge I have.
I'm surprised that this doesn't violate some NCAA regulation, it clearly was a twenty year plan to influence a high school athlete to attend OSU.
Quick someone provide some benefits to Tebow right now in hopes if he has a son with his new wife we can secure that commitment.
It's sad that we have a reason to even joke about how idiotic the NCAA has become.
I think Tebow's wife will be providing plenty of benefits.
Reminder Paris will be on campus this weekend and then back again in a couple weeks for the spring game
Gee Scott Jr quickly becoming my favorite recruit in this class. Also everyone chill out with Paris, kid is going to be in Columbus several times this month - let the kid enjoy the process.
Gee Scott Jr is going to be a future captain and all American in Columbus. He will have a tree in buckeye grove.

Everyones favorite trio
Also its on the front page but Day posted pictures on the gram of the new renovations to the WHAC which is relevant to recruiting. New dining area with a full time chef and meals made to order that can be requested on an app, new recovery float tanks and a cryogenic tank, and some other smaller improvements.
Day and dem boys look like they just dropped the hottest mixtape of 2019
Hopefully day seals the deal this weekend.
That top left Pic is fire emoji
Wondering if they’ll offer Thomas this weekend if he agrees to come back and work out at DE.
If they offer this weekend and he works out at DE and isnt good at it, then what?
Not sure how they’d handle that.
You bring him in as an athlete just like Trayanum. See how they progress for a year or two and then you have a conversation with them about their future if need be
Nicholas l Ernst
I have a feeling trayanum is already committed just a matter of making it public.
It’s puzzling to me why he wouldn’t accept the coaching staff’s advice for him (growing into a DE). I’ve heard that he’s a bit slow to play LB at Ohio State. I have nothing to go on by that other than what I have read by other members, but seeing as how he doesn’t have an offer yet it seems to indicate that this is the case. I hope he comes onboard.
I’ve heard that he’s a bit slow to play LB at Ohio State.
That didn't stop Borland.
Ohio State offers Jahiem Thomas!
And he deleted the tweet lol
Well that's curious
Edit: Must of had a typo? lol
Tweet is back up
AE with the CB for Jaheim? You know something?
I crystal balled him to Ohio State a long time ago and then changed it to foggy last week when I was told he may not get offered (unless he camps). That obviously changed so I flipped it back.
How soon before he and Henry commit or make it public?
Good question. Henry was supposed to commit a few months ago but then decided to wait a bit. No concerns on that one but at this point I'm not entirely sure when it will happen. I'm wondering if they're taking all these visits now so they can make a decision relatively soon.
On Mobile sorry.

tweet is back
That picture with Day is badass
That might be the coolest recruiting picture I have seen.
Alright. Got the offer. Let’s them locked up
Load and Load the Cincy Trio!!!
I really hope this puts an end to their road trips. I’m guessing the staff has, or will, have that discussion before they leave campus.
So the osu staff is going to tell 2 kids who aren't committed to stop taking visits?
Both those guys might committed before they leave campus tomorrow.
I doubt theyll directly order them to stop taking visits, but it's possible they'll reach an understanding.
What a shame.
now what will people bitch about?
let me guess, "why haven't Thomas and Henry committed???"
I mean, we have so much talent and practice at generating the next thing to bitch about.
A post bitching about people bitching...hmmph.
I want to start the RB room needs top talent and fewer low 4/ high 3 stars era of these threads.
another one Why isnt a 5 star on campus every second
Well, we’ve hit the 300th post threshold on this 19th part of the thread and it only took five days. At this rate, with 8+ months still to go until the early signing period, what’s the over/under to hit 50 parts? At roughly 300 posts per, that would be 15,000 posts on this topic.
Time for Part XX, Spooner? Fresh start now that Thomas has his offer?
Now we find out how committed Paris truly is? Or if there truly is concern about him decomitting? Any update on drennen?
