Got M...igan gossip? Bang it here.
It's a mixed bag. I'm stoked to see on the big screen what I grew to love as a kid (huge Marvel fan, and the Avengers were my favorite book), but I know the MCU is going to never be the same after Endgame.
Its a shame they are going to take down Thanos, such a great villain.
It doesn't matter whether you're the lion or a gazelle-when the sun comes up, you'd better be running.
Agreed, Grimace was bad ass
Shandy is not beer
This may sound crazy, but I bet Thanos doesn't really show up until the third act.
He finished his mission, he's living in peace on his farm now. I bet that the Avengers try to undo the snap (and partially succeed) and he shows up at the end trying to stomp them out.
When I walked in this morning and saw the flag was at half mast I thought, "Alright, another bureaucrat ate it." but then I saw it was Li'l Sebastian. Half mast is too high. Show some damn respect.

Why release a trailer if it doesn’t show anything “new” about the movie that we don’t already know is going to happen? I was excited about it, until I actually watched the trailer.
That's par for the course with MCU though, they never really show anything in the trailers. They drop some hints that is enough to drive the internet fanboys crazy, that's about it.
Looks like it worked.
Flawless business model.
I love that the trailers are vague. There is nothing worse than going to see a movie, only to realize at the end that all the funny parts were already shown in the trailer and you wasted time and money
Agree. It takes the fun out of the movie. I have been purposely trying to not dig into rumors and speculation with this one.
I was excited about it, until I actually watched the trailer.
So the lack of spoilers killed your interest in this movie? Perhaps you should just stick to the Jurassic World cinematic universe, or even the first wave of DCEU films as both franchises are notorious for giving away the entire plot with their trailers.
Huh? That’s the whole point. You want the trailers to actually spoil stuff about the movies? I love how MCU movie trailers don’t give away anything significant regarding the plot.
Except this trailer confirmed a few things we didn't know. Here's one of them:
- Tony Stark is alive on Earth and will follow the rest of the Avengers into the Quantum Realm (you can see that in the walking scene in the quantum suits from Ant Man/Wasp)
To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift.
How Firm Thy Friendship...Oh-Hi-Oh
Also, I'm sure going to miss Iron Man.
I kind of just hope he doesn't die. Though, I have a weird feeling wither him or cap will.
"Khajiit has wares if you have the coin."
Despite the lack of spoilers in the trailer, they did show Cap carrying a casket in tears. So, there's that...
I got that, and the clip towards the end showing them all in new suits (Pym suits for a trip into the Quantum Realm?).
Can't wait for this.
Also, check out who is "suited up" to go to the Quantum Realm. So much for Stark dying in space.
Yep, did notice...I don't think things end well for Cap here.
they did show Cap carrying a casket in tears. So, there's that...
That was just a flashback of the Peggy Carter funeral scene from Captain America: Civil War
That scene was from either Winter Soldier or Civil War when Agent Carter died.
Wasn't that from one of the Captain America Movies?
Him carrying Peggy Carter's casket in Civil War.
That appeared to be a flashback scene from Civil War when he is a pall bearer for his X from the first movie. Could be wrong, but it was during a series of scenes from previous movies so makes sense.
The contracts for the big 3 (Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans) are up after this. This will most likely be the last time you see Evans and RDJr in an MCU film, Hemsworth is a bit more tricky as his character is more popular now than it ever has been so I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a new contract.
Evans for sure. Sebastian Stan has huge contract with Marvel and will prolly slide in the Cap role
Stay golden, Ponyboy.
Maybe Evans will reprise his Johnny Storm / Human Torch role from the Fantastic 4 just to mess with everyone once the Disney / Fox merger is finalized
Ugh...they need to get the Fantastic 4 done right. Hoping now that Fox takes their hands off them they can.
The MCU, even in the comics, change periodically. As most know, the MCU is going into the next phase of movies so anything is possible. I think only one of the big three actually dies in this movie and I'm in agreement with most that Cap is the one that dies. Really seems appropriate. No telling which direction the characters of Stark and Thor go.
Always can keep Stark around for Spider-Man
Yep cameos as needed, hand off the suit, but always has one in the back if needed.
I don think they reup in a huge way RDJ, but I do think they keep him on.
Right. And RDJ's character isn't Thor or Cap. He just has to be fit, not buff to play Tony Stank. Lot less prep work for RDJ to make a cameo or have a small part.
Fixed it for you:
Also, I'm sure going to miss Iron Man Cap.
I wonder why only the color red was showing up in parts of the trailer i wonder if that means something?
Colby M Roseberry
Probably to keep people from freaking and and screwing with their color/display settings and/or bitching that the trailer was screwed up
Will be interesting to see how Captain Marvel fits in, apparently Thanos is no match for her powers.
Which is hilarious b/c in the comics Thanos defeated her with a single punch, while she was in her "Binary" (most powerful) form.
I just hope Brie Larson doesn't screw up the existing on-screen chemistry (that brief snippet with Thor and her mid-credits scene have me a bit concerned). Supposedly the Russo brothers didn't even want her in this movie as they wanted to finish the story and character arcs with the existing cast but Kevin Feige forced them to put her in this movie.
Bingo on all accounts. They could have easily put more time into Captain Marvel, made a better movie to set up the next phase with her. Finish out with Dr Strange and Pym, and the old crew.
This has always been my gripe with MCU, they down play the level of awesome for their villains. Its disappointing.
The "Thanos is no match for her" thing is mostly fan speculation, but yeah, she'll probably be more of a supporting player in this one.
Not sure why people think her powers are better than Thanos, given that literally another Avenger got their powers from an infinity stone (Scarlet Witch) and Thanos had no trouble with her.
Simply beating up Thanos isnt going to be enough. They have to undo the Snap. As powerful as CM is she will still have to team with everyone to take him down.
"You're the patron saint of the totally effed" - Hot Tub Time Machine
It looks like she will be at least somewhat filling the Adam Warlock role from the comics; meaning clearly more powerful than all the others... but if you've read Infinity Gauntlet you know how that goes for him.
Shes gonna get her punches in for sure. Adam got his ass kicked lol
So pumped. Great trailer and great use of history.
Regarding the rumored death(s), it is too obvious that it is Cap for it to be Cap. Evans announced it was probably his last movie. You would think Marvel would hide that info. Gotta admit, the trailer got me a little misty thinking it could be Cap's last run. Iron Man has had these visions of death and sacrifice for several movies so it could be him. Iron Man's death would be more final. We gotta remember Cap lived in ice for decades; Iron Man is a human in a technologically advanced suit. RDJ and Hemsworth have been more open to returning, albeit RDJ in a reduced role. Some deaths would be more final than others as some characters are human not super humans.
There doesn't have to be a death for it to be emotional. They just need to watch that they don't cheat and toy too much with the audience about it.
We know for sure that the following characters survive:
Bucky will survive also. Stan has like 4 movies left on his deal...prolly will be the new Cap
Thats my guess too
If you continue to think what you always thought, you will continue to get what you always got. #AlumforStaff
Prolly excited b/c he's getting his own series on Disney+
Looking forward to Disney+. Hope they bring DareDevil and Punisher back in the future.
I am FREAKING OUT
"To Buckeye Nation: You have my word that I'm going to give everything I have to continue the tradition of excellence and winning that this program has enjoyed during its storied history."
Browns aren't picking in the first round, so I am clear for the midnight showing.
"Sometimes you eat the bear and sometimes the bear eats you."
That's why Thursday evening showings are a thing now, you no longer have to wait until midnight/Friday on the actual release date.
I thought the 1st round of the draft is on a Thursday night?
It is. So us Browns fans can watch the first ten or so picks and then head to the theater.
Have watched so many times today. Gets better every time.
Marvel has done such a good job casting roles. Downey Jr, Evans, Hemsworth, Sam Jackson...etc. these movies have been outstanding for a strung together 20 movie series. Really an outstanding job, despite a few plot holes and rushed moments scattered about..
My only disagreements in casting have been Terrance Howard being replaced by Don Cheadle, and the direction the took Mandrin in Iron Man 3.
Superb movies culminating in Endgame, 5 weeks from now. What a joy.
Marvel has done such a good job casting roles
Brie Larson as Captain Marvel notwithstanding, she was their first really big mistake imho. Casting Tilda Swinton as the "Ancient One" was another poor choice considering her character is Asian in the comics.
My only disagreements in casting have been Terrance Howard being replaced by Don Cheadle, and the direction the took Mandrin in Iron Man 3.
Howard pitched a fit when Marvel asked him to take a pay cut for Iron Man 2. He actually made more than RDJ in the first Iron Man movie - something Marvel knew they had to fix if they wanted to keep RDJ around for more movies.
I like Don Cheadle better. Actually, I was never a fan of Ed Norton being Bruce Banner. Mark Ruffalo is a much better choice.
I am going to reserve judgment on Larson until I see her interact with the team. I also like Cheadle better. Rhoady (aka War Machine) hasn't exactly been a fleshed out character other than piggybacking off others. I think Terrance Howard would be a better villain. I have also seen a lot of people on the web do not like Renner as Hawkeye. I enjoy him and wish he had more to do. Maybe buddy up with Black Widow. Altogether, I think Marvel gets a solid A- for its casting of heroes. They struggle a bit with villains. Brolin did great as Thanos, Michael Keaton was good, Sebastian Stan was good as evil Winter Soldier, Michael Rooker was good as Yondu, and I really enjoy Andy Serkis as Ulysses Klaue.
Yondu was more an anti-hero and ended up redeeming himself. I wish they had not killed him off.
Larson I thought was a really solid pick.
Cumberbatch is perfection
My only gripe is Ruffalo. He is so lame as Banner. Give me Norton back.
I'm with you on Larson, I thought she was great as CM. I can look past her stupid SJW comments and just enjoy the movie
I can look past her stupid SJW
Gotta look past that with a lot of actors/actresses these days, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Unrelated but James Gunn was reinstated by Disney to direct GOTG 3. Only question is which characters come back from the snap.
Wow. Quite shocked and happy with this decision.
He made a mistake, apologized and didn’t blame anyone but himself. Kudos to Disney and Marvel for this.
His comments were horrible, no defending that. I believe he was a fringe comedian saying fringe things and it bit him. Glad all parties have dealt with it and moved past it.
Yeah and he's also directing the next Suicide Squad movie so he's going to have one foot in Marvel and the other in DC.
New "Special"Look" trailer. Looks like it shows Tony's arrival back on Earth and his reunion with Pepper.
“You mean, because he killed all our friends?” Rhodey
That handshake with Cap though!!!!
Six to Midnight
Tickets on sale now. Just got mine
It looked like Thanos was using the bi-frost, but I also don't trust anything about a Marvel trailer
You mean the Hulk actually never showed up in Wakanda? :)
Thanos has the space gem, which gives him the ability to teleport, so I doubt it's the bifrost. Also, the light from the bifrost is multi-colored whereas that light was mainly blue.
Yeah the more I think about it Quad you are probably right. He is most likely beaming down from his ship or something along those lines
II could be over-analyzing here, but if you notice Thanos is wearing all of his battle armor in that scene which could possibly indicate a problem of some sort with the gauntlet or the infinity stones themselves. In Infinity War Thanos ditched his battle armor once he obtained the Space Stone aboard the Asgardian ship at the beginning of the movie. Even during the battles on Titan and again in Wakanda you don't see Thanos wearing his full armor.
I only bring this up because on the directors commentary for Infinity War DVD the Russo brothers explicitly mentioned that he discarded his armor because he no longer needed it now that he had two Infinity Stones (the Power and Space stones).
We know that both the gauntlet and Thanos himself were damaged after the snap (the Russo Brothers said the gauntlet is now fused to his hand/arm and he can no longer remove it) but it still appeared functional as he was able to teleport to his new home planet, and heal his chest wound after the snap.
Throughout all of this I love how Rocket has just become part of the group instead of "WTF a talking raccoon???!"
I liked the shot of Cap aboard The Benatar, which is being piloted by said talking racoon, flying through space
C'mon guys everyone knows it's a Trash Panda or a Rabbit at best
I am hoping Rocket meets an actual raccoon on earth, and a rabbit and a panda. Just so he can jab pack at Quill in Guardians 3.
Got my tickets this morning and the brief teaser was an added bonus.
Did anyone else notice Clint's full arm tattoo sleeve? I really hope they show his family disappearing and the emotional impact it has on him. I actually hope that is one of the opening scenes.
Cannot wait for the Cap and Tony reunion and more Thor badassary. Tip of the cap to Marvel for taking Thor from middle of the pack hero to one of my favorites. I hope that they bring Starlord back just long enough that he apologizes to the team and to the entire universe - punk.
PETER QUILL IS A SAINT! YOU HEAR ME? A SAINT!!!
What Quill did was about the most Quill thing Quill could do.
So excited for the can of avenging whoops ass!
In the most recent trailer it looks like cap is a lot smaller than normal when he’s looking at himself in that bathroom mirror. Am I crazy?
Chris Evans has always been pretty big and defined in his role as cap and I was surprised they made him look almost withered. Maybe his serum is wearing off?
Not crazy, I noticed that too - maybe a weird lighting or camera lens/angle thing?
Definitely not just you. I watched the video, turned to Mrs Fin, and said "my arms are bigger than Chris Evans' again. This is weird."
