All good times, but Ahrens against Iowa came out of nowhere.
The groove he had in getting that win (with the Frantics towards the end as a bonus) was great highlight for a team that hasn't had many since the New Year.
And it appeared that Ahrens' reward for that game was to see limited action the rest of the season. To be fair, I have not been glued to my TV to prove this, but his minutes have seemed to be spotty for a team that is starved, really starved, for Offense. If he is limited on Defense, so be it. The team's inability to draw up a play to get him the ball down the stretch on Sunday vs. WI was either a bad look for the kids execution-wise -- or a bad look for Holtmann, scheme-wise.
He has played 20 or more mins in each of the last 3 games, and started in 2 of those games.
I play, coach stays. He goes, I go.
I stand corrected -- thanks, 33. It must have been those 20 minutes he was on the bench for which I was watching the games on and off. Point well taken.
He's played and he's had his moments but he's not sneaking up on anyone else. No one will give him as much room to shoot as Iowa did.
Very good....see my post above. Thanks, archie.
I believe that Kaleb coming back will help him, as you know defenses will collapse and Justin will have more open looks.
You Got Barbecue Back There!?!?!?!
He certainly appears to give effort on defense and his off the ball defense(Shot blocking) has been good but his on the ball defense is subpar at this point in his career. I don't know if he's guarding out of position or what but his guy seems to be able to turn the corner and blow by him on a regular basis. His offense is limited to open shots and he doesn't seem to be able to create for himself yet but if left open, can hit the three.
I think he's going to be a valuable hustle player that can provide offense off the bench for his career, a four year glue guy worth his weight in gold. He' s not the solution nor a go to guy at this point in his career and I doubt he will ever be the number one or two option.
LETS GOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I am really excited to see what this team does in a do or die game on Thursday... If they can bring the energy and effort we saw the last 7 minutes against Wisky the entire game, I like our chances... I also like that we have played two other games in the United Center this year... Both wins against UCLA and Illinois.
Hopefully we can get a few more top 4-5 moments and prove we are tourney worthy.
Top 4 beacuse you couldn't find a fifth. The OSU basketball season.
I feel like this is similar to Wisconsin's highlight reel from the 2014 big ten champ game.
I know there's a game Saturday, and my ass will be there.
I Believe In Ohio State.
Number one for me was easily the Cleveland State victory, and obviously none of the reasons were due to the opponent:
1. The game was played at the best basketball arena in Columbus: St.John Arena.
2. The game was a sell out, one of two (Sparty at the Schott) all season.
3. We got our first glimpse of the 1980 throwback jerseys. I now proudly own a #33 (Clark Kellogg) jersey.
4. It was the night before the osu-um football game, so there was a buzz in the arena.
5. Holtmann was rockin' a sweet sportcoat that would have fit in nicely in 1980.
6. It was weeks before this squad was humbled/exposed by the deepest conference in the country. I think some of us knew we weren't nearly as good as our Top 20 ranking indicated, but I don't think anyone could envision the blood bath that was January 2019.
After losing to them 3 times last year, we finally beat Penn State and it felt really good.
I'd rather be a minute early than an hour early, 'cause I like to procrastinate.
You can't say osu was close to hiring mcdermott, that's just lazy, if he's not offered-and he wasn't, he's not close to being hired.
