I was proud of the team for not giving up but you can't start every game 0 for 10 or worse. We're not good enough to continuously dig out of deep holes.

I couldn’t believe what I was watching during that frantic comeback.  Hopefully the team is filled with confidence heading into the tournament.

Hearing Coach say he told CJ he was calling his number on the last shot because he was doing a great job of being aggressive and getting to the line makes that last shot in regulation even more frustrating... A 3 point shot pretty much the exact opposite of what Coach told him in the huddle.

Glad to see they didn't give up... character building...

Go Bucks!

This team is reliant on a post player that never seemed to play much (foul troubles) at all.

Laziness is what it is!

Coach them out of it. Coach them to rely on themselves or show them the bench in the first 10 minutes! Love the coaching staff, but give Joey Lane (and others, no matter the result ) start and teach these kids that it is unecceptable to loaf!

The D was horrid for first 20 minutes.

They gave up, and then thought they could win after it was too late. IMO

It all started when we broke out the press. It shouldn’t take a press to make them play with energy, but if that’s what it takes, press as much as we physically can. This team, Kaleb or no Kaleb, isn’t bad when they play with energy, as we saw today. But when they don’t have it, they’re in trouble. Gotta play 100%, all game.

Finally saw some fight. I would like our coaching staff to put the best defensive and offensive players on the field though. I hope next year they figure this shit out. #GoBucks!

Really wish we would have gotten a better shot, should have just run the offense instead of letting the clock run down, the ball should have been in Ahrens hands, our best shooter by far. It reminded me of Lebron settling for a 3 in game 2 @ Golden State his first year back. Wish this team would play with that same tenacity as they did after getting embarrased @ home like that.

Imo Holtman is amazing what he's done with what he has.our best scorer still dribbles the ball off his foot. The rest are young, foul prone and limited offensively mainly because of youth. Future is in good hands with this coach. The only reason i had any expectations this year is because of what Holtman anf the team accomplished without a true point guard. Imo Woods should be the PG and CJ @the 2 or coming off the bench but Ahrens needs to stay on the court.

Kevin don't feel bad good things are coming. The roster was decimated when Holtman arrived.

MICHIGAN STILL SUCKS

This was a great comeback, would have been amazing if they pulled it off.  Now go beat Indiana, compete against MSU, and win a game or two in the NIT to end the season on a high note.

Really?    I cannot believe how many "fans" are not able to see reality.   We are SEVERELY undermanned - we are starting 2-3 Freshman every game and we have NO real back up Big Man since Potter decided to transfer the day before the season opened.    We have been playing without our BEST player and we have not had a TRUE PG the entire year.

You are putting this on the coach??    Sit back and gab some reality.   We are fortunate to have had this success in last 2 years AND we have a TOP 10 recruiting class coming in next year.

I want to win as much as anyone, but there is this concept called reality.  You expect Young (who plays his heart out) to be able to defend HAPP?    Young is a power forward playing out of position to HELP the team.

Come on....this team has OVERACHIEVED....appreciate it...and WAIT for what we have coming next year.

ANYONE who is blaming this on Holtman is a 100% certified MORON

You WIN with people.

Unfortunately this team has very little skill. Other than the freshman who have no experience you don’t get much from the upperclassman.

Stay golden, Ponyboy.

Great fight, yes and "near great" comeback but you are not going to win many games when shooting under 40%.

“Please keep everything off the court, but keep yelling loud,” Holtmann told the crowd at the Schottenstein Center, yelling into the public-address announcer’s microphone.

Love the Coach taking the mic and working it.  Classic!

Fighting hard is good.

Fighting smart is also good.

Go Bucks!

In old Ohio there's a team that's known throughout the land...

I agree that “Jimmy” I mean Ahrens should have taken the last shot. Set him up with an old fashion double screen and he would have drilled. Sorry but CJ is not only NOT a PG, but NOT a good shooter. Just because he has had a couple of “lucky” game winners, doesn’t cut it that he should take that shot. Don’t understand why Young doesn’t shoot more. He was a good shooter in high school. Also I think Kaleb should not be allowed back in the tournament. Whatever he did was an embarrassment and egregious or he would have been back sooner. He is a “Pouty Faced Spoiled Coddled Brat”. He can’t cut it. NO GUTS. Not like his daddy at all. When things are going his way, he disappears mentally. I have coached both boys in baseball and girls in softball and have coached kids like that. When they disappeared mentally they were “sitting beside me” on the pine!!! True PG coming next year!!!

Got tired of watching the lackluster effort and an overall frustrating game so we decided to leave the game at the under 8 timeout (right before the good stuff started) and go get food before heading home. I have never been as surprised as I was when Mr. IHtGAMN shoved his phone across the table and it was open to ESPN and showed the game was a few seconds into OT. I started scrolling around thinking he was playing a prank on me somehow.... and then I got really mad at myself for leaving and missing the comeback. Went home and watched the last 8 minutes and overtime and got even more mad at myself for leaving. I'm usually the one that wants to stay or keep watching just in case something crazy happens... and the one time I gave up --- guess what happens?

Call me a fake fan for losing hope. I will wear my dunce hat with humility.

While I found the end of the game exciting, I can't overlook the fact that we had 16 points in the first half.  That is utterly pathetic.  My feeling is that the 'comeback' said a lot more about Wisconsin's overconfidence after the first half than any amazing play on our part.  There is a lot that can be laid at the door of injuries and bad luck (Potter transfers, Kaleb does something stupid) but, what is obvious to me, is that there is no one on the team who can lead.  And that leadership usually comes from a point guard.  Everyone seems to be focusing on Kaleb being out but we struggled before he left.  Someone is going to have to step up and call plays and get after people that don't have their heads in the game.  Whether that person is going to be DJ Carton or not remains to be seen.  But the mental lapses and lackadaisical play have to be stopped.  And if a coach is relying on recruiting someone to do that rather than being able to mentor a kid to be that kind of player, then we will forever be in a revolving door of one (or two) and dones rather than a team that develops talent that matures and improves every year.

"C.J. Jackson, who led the team with 22 points, had a chance to win the game, but missed a 3-pointer with three seconds remaining, sending the game to overtime."

Come on.....he actually shot an air ball.......missed everything, including the side of the barn.....

"“I mean, losing is brutal,” Holtmann said. “It's miserable. It's miserable. You don't sleep. You don't eat.”

Then start using the talent you have correctly. They don't have to be world-beaters but they have to fit in their roles. Why in the **** is Kyle Young running a weave back and forth at the top of the key and just setting screens?.....Kid played at Massilon so I know he knows HOW to shoot the ball. He's NO offensive threat at all the way he's being utilized. Let him the stretch the floor some with some outside shots or even mid-range ones. Can't be any worse than the bricks the others are throwing up. Also why would you have your two best 3-point shooters on the bench down the stretch?....Washingon was sitting and Ahrens was just on the floor in those last 4 minutes taking up space as it was the Jackson/Woods show down the stretch. Sorry, but Washington or Ahrens should have taken that last shot in regulation, not Jackson. At least the other two would have at least hit the rim.
