Best of luck young man. This seems to have been an inevitable outcome for sometime now.
Lets Go Bucks!!
15-1 is SWEET!
Hopefully this won’t affect jack Miller..
Hubbard transferred to another school and doesn't play with Miller. It shouldnt have any impact on Miller and even if he was still best friends with Miller, I believe Miller is coming to OSU to play for Day.
I saw a UFO once.......it told me to have a goodyear!
Why I said hopefully..
Hope you have a great career somewhere! Sometimes you end up in the running for more star RB’s than you may have thought.
Can they catch him? No they can't, touchdown.
Dear Santa, Kendall Milton please!
The ugly truth is often downvoted
I prefer Bijan Robinson over Milton.
Those who say they can and those who say they can't are both right. Which one are you?
Doubt we have a shot at Milton
There goes the recruiting rankings.............

Bijan Robinson, COME ON DOWN. *Bob Barker Voice*
I believe you mean *Rod Roddy Voice*. Bob Barker never said the catchphrase.
Realized this after I posted. Thanks for the correction, I deserve to be publicly shamed.
You win with people.
So what. Simple mistake, consider yourself shamed...carry on! Lol
I think he said that to Diane Parkinson...
I coached that kid in pop warner! He a beast.
My Blood runs Scarlett and Grey
Well don't just stand there, do something!
If true, he coached him in the Akron area. Too late now!
And you weren’t subliminally dropping Buckeye hints during that time?
Better for Darvon to get it right and find his best fit. Good luck to him on his journey.
Just posting and hoping my comment isn’t deleted.
Well said SP - I mean we're still talking about teenagers
The off season bites !!

So, it is easy to sit back and think only about stars and rankings as if these decisions are meaningless and only benefit the fans. The truth of the matter is that these kids have really not accomplished much in their lives but have opportunities that deserve thoughtful consideration. They are promised everything but guaranteed nothing.
As I read this young man's words, I. Any help but think he was sad that a dream was disappearing. With that said, I share the hope that his dream is replaced by an experience that is greater than his imagination. I believe he will.
Exactly-psychotic cruitin' fans often forget this common sense.
I think he really wanted to be a Buckeye, so I imagine it was not easy for him to realize the coaching staff didn’t envision him in their plans. Best of luck to the young man.
This is definitely where I parked my car.
Cooper, I’ve heard hints of this without seeing any article stating this outright. Can you help me fill in the gaps?
Birm and some other recruiting guys said they never visited Hubbard once over the winter, nor did they ever make an effort to.
That’s kind of disappointing. It seems like an up front conversation is better than turning a cold shoulder to the young man. I wonder why the new staff played it like that or what they weren’t happy with regarding the talent he brings.
Welp. Good luck then
Meh. I was loving the QB/RB double commit. Best of luck to him, but I'll settle for Milton :)
Or Robinson. I also like Demarkcus Bowman and Seth McGowan. Bowman is very fast. McGowan probably isn't very fast, but he has a good and quick reading skill.
Great candidates, but Tyree is the must get. As far as Chaparral, it’s a subpar program. Always was, always will be. Although the puss is consistently kind, at least to me.
" It's real good whatcha done Anthony, real good ! "
Taylor Lewan played at Chaparral. What could stain a program more than that?
Ronny P Buckeye
I thought he was from the state of scUM.
Nah, but he is Scum!
Hahaha, great call Ronny. Lol
He must read 11W...
Good luck to the young man
What did I miss? I read above where someone said the coaching staff wasn't as interested in him?
This recruiting/Twitter business has become really kind of grotesque & ridiculous, if you want to know the truth.

Right, like the media is going to be knocking down his door to for questions. He's quite high of himself.
What we can't do in the air we'll do on the ground.
You can't really blame him though. That's kind of the culture of recruiting/Twitter.
Let's face it, eventually SMOD's gonna burn everything down anyway so who gives a damn.
SMOD sounds like the name of a super villain.
I have to admit I'm old and not so wise, so I had to look it up in the Urban dictionary; Sweet Meteor Of Death.
Enjoy the wins over *ichigan, ....I still remember the dark days of the 1990's....
I have to compliment your fine choice in avatar. Only an especially discerning person would select it.

"The future is bright at Ohio State." - Urban Meyer 1/1/15
We don't know how much the recruiting sites and others reach out to these kids, especially when they commit or decommit from a name brand school. Every recruiting service wants to be able to one up the others, at least when it comes to top 300 players.
I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan!
I don’t think you quite understand how much contact these recruits get. There are now hundreds of fan base sites and if you even have an offer from one of those schools almost every school is going to have at least one media member reach out. I know a kid who at one point was getting 8-10 media requests a day through text at one point. Just a ton of websites out there and local papers. He was a 5 star recruit either. It’s overwhelming to a lot of these kids.
Could not agree with you more. That was exactly what I was thinking when I read the tweet.
Exactly right. The interesting question is, was your DV A-from a random DV idiot, or B-someone who was actually butthurt by this common sense statement and is upset by teenagers ruining their fantasies of starhanderouter predicted glory?
Tough decision. Gotta do what's best for him. He was a versitile prospect but next man up.
One door closes, another one opens. Go Buckeyes!
TG Proud Buckeye alumnus.
A lot of better fish in the ocean.
That's kind of a bummer, but that's the recruiting bizz. Best of luck to him, next man up!
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
Let him shop around. After all, the preceding article is about how Crowley could be great.
Has been expected according to the recruiting experts. I hope he finds the right spot for himself. Not sure why the relationship with OSU went south but better to have this happen now rather than later.
Fields of Dreams
From what I've read from the insiders on bucknuts. The staff doesn't think he's that good and are after a good number of backs they consider better.
Was Hubbard a Meyer recruit? Could be Day doesn't have as high an opinion of him as Meyer did.
Yes, thank you young man for being mature enough to make your decision far enough out to benefit not only yourself but OSU.
get on down the road, Bucks are moving on w/o you
Yeesh, what’d he do to you?
Does this have any impact on Miller and OSU?
I hope not. If Miller decommits we're screwed at the QB position. Especially since it doesn't sound like Day is actively recruiting very many QBs in future classes based on the recent Hurry-Up articles. I wouldn't be shocked if Miller is the only QB they plan on including in the 2020 class. If he decommits that leaves us scrambling.
Not that I have ever heard.
Glad he did this early, if he had doubts. Better for everyone involved...
Sucks, but, that's recruiting.
Vires Et Honestas
Best of luck young man.
Lose one, get another.
Curious if this had more to do with Day not thinking that Hubbard is a good fit for his system or did Day feel feel that he didn’t progress like they expected? I know that Hubbard had an underwhelming season last year. I don’t know much about this young man but over the years I’ve seen plenty of kids that committed early on lose focus and basically “mail it in”. They let their ego get the best of them and start getting lazy about working out and develop a bad attitude. I doubt we’ll ever get the real reason why OSU and Hubbard parted ways. We’ll get the old, “it was mutual”. Whatever the real reason is I hope things work out for Hubbard.
Don't listen to Freddy P. Soft
Always a tough decision for a young man to make. Wish him well wherever he decides to attend school.
My guess - these guys who are de-committing in future years want to see how OSU does under Ryan Day. If OSU wins the B1G, they may be re-committing.
Our honor defend, so we'll fight to the end !
That gave me a big chuckle!
After Nester and all the 2020 decommits, I'm starting to think it's not really worthwhile to think of anyone who announces his college choice before Christmas of his junior year of high school as being truly committed.
The most "loud mouth, disrespect" poster on 11W.
Considering everything that when on with Ohio State from late July 2018 to December when Urban announced his retirement, the 2019 class was a rousing success. Day is off to a good start with 2020, and despite a couple of decommits I’m guessing he’ll finish pretty well. This one seemed very much expected.
"You can never pay back, but you can always pay forward."
it is all kind of pointless until they sign the NLI anyway...just because a guy commits, it isn't as if other schools stop recruiting them
Wishing Darvon Hubbard well moving forward.
Hindsight is, and in, 2020
Best of luck in the future Hubbard
Well Darvon it! I was high on him.
It doesn't matter whether you're the lion or a gazelle-when the sun comes up, you'd better be running.
I like to get high too
Apparently OSU is moving on to it's next target: Percocet Hughes.
Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.
My guess is when he announced his decision Urban Meyer was the coach and we seemed like we would be on track for another Urban Meyer 250 yard pass 250 yard run type season. Haskins blows up, Meyer is gone and we've got a WR Coach in Hartline who knows what he's doing and Day is chasing elite QBs and WRs. If you are running back thinking about your share of the 250 yards in the Urban Meyer offense that's pretty enticing. When the whole thing is flipped and it's now trending towards 350 passing 150 running it probably changes things.
Wish the kid nothing but the best...
Next man up..
When the whole thing is flipped and it's now trending towards 350 passing 150 running it probably changes things.
Gosh, hope not. Teams that run successfully win more frequently than teams that rely too much on passing.
True but teams that struggle throwing the ball aren't winning shit either. See 2016 and 2017.
24 wins is struggling mightily, true dat.
Did any of those wins include a Natty? I'll wait. The reality is the game is changing. Teams that lack a dynamic passing game tend to struggle nowadays with how much the spread offenses are starting to take over.
If having a dynamic passing game is all that mattered, the B12 would be unstoppable. The bottom line is that you need a NC caliber D AND an effective offense to win the whole enchilada. Whining specifically about scheme is just taking a shallow approach.
Just need to be able to run the ball.... this day and age though there's almost no value based on running back at the NFL level. You have to be able to block and catch passes and run if you want to get paid to play in the NFL. Guys like Barkley, Kamara and McCaffery etc probably would have been 3rd down backs 10 years ago. The game has changed...
OSU and Bama ended up 27-2 this past year. Teams combined to throw for 9080 yards. Combined to rush for 4913 yards...
Rewind to the 2013 season.... Teams combined to throw for 5387yards. Combined to rush for 6740 yards...
As I said.... the game has changed.... I applaud Coach Day for taking steps to change with it....
Good luck...never know...we may see you on Game Day...Go Coach Day...Go Bucks
The buzz is that we moved on from him, and respectfully suggested he look around. Also, lots of talk in Arizona that he simply isn’t “Buckeye RB quality” - that paired with staff turnover makes the move quite mutual.
Doesnt go to same HS as Jack Miller anymore, and will have no impact on him.
"Let's beat the shit out of Michigan. Have a good night." - UFM
You didn't have to go as far as Arizona to find people who didn't think he was good enough to play for Ohio State. Similar to Cormontae Hamilton, he worked hard for an offer last summer and deserves credit for getting one. But I think his desire to "come back home" made a lot of people look past his limitations and his junior season undoubtedly exposed them.
I wish him a healthy senior season and success in football and in his life outside of football.

I wish all recruits did it this way. I mean, I'd rather he stay committed of course, but I personally prefer a player de-commit, then explore options, rather than those that stay committed, yet are out there seeking other options anyway. IMO, a commitment should mean you selected your school of choice, ie no need to see what's out there, which in my view should have been done before committing If something changes where that player no longer feels committed, then de-commit, and explore. That's just my personal take. Best of luck to Hubbard wherever he lands.
In a way, I feel Nester held Ohio State hostage. I admit I don't know the full story, much less what may have transpired beneath the surface in terms of any conversations he had with the staff but speaking strictly as one fan, I feel like he hamstrung us.
I agree. Sure, Meyer retiring may have been the main reason, but then, he didn’t have to string it out so long.
Those that stay will beat TTUN—multiple times.
Best of luck to the young man but really...

Please tweet one or more of the following highly original phrases to demonstrate our class to these young men who are making a very critical, difficult decision:
The will to win is not as important as the will to prepare to win. -- Woody Hayes
It's a tad harsh to paint everyone with the same brush but I can't say it doesn't happen and that won't with Hubbard. #thetruthhurts
No thanks, I think I'll continue my practice of not tweeting recruits or anyone else for that matter
Shandy is not beer
The writing was on the wall on this one. Andrew, Birm, etc. have been reporting this for weeks.
He’ll get a huge bump up in rankings in the next realignment
Seems like most people don't understand that OSU gave him the cold shoulder? They somewhat "forced" him out of the class with no contact. So no, it's not our loss or his loss. It was a business decision for both parties.
Good luck Darvon, hope ya find a good landing spot and as always, GO BUCKS!
Derrick Green was also an OSU commit at one time.
You might be mistaken on that one. As much as he wanted to be a Buckeye (Eddie was his idol), I don't think he ever even had a "committable" offer. If I remember correctly the staff wasn't sure he fit the mold they wanted and therefore we got some kid named Zeke.
If you have been following recruiting, we all knew it was coming. He has the ability to play here. Day just thinks he can get better.
Is Road Runner still available?
"If you're not changing, you're falling behind."
Mother Hubbard’s cupboard is full, Darvon?
I don’t see it.
No big deal running backs are a dime a dozen every team has a good one and when did OSU never have a primo back. Like someone said it's good he left now over pulling a Mathis. Not just him but not sure why all these kids have to pull the trigger so soon before looking at all their options. Maybe they need to sign when they commit to a school might make them think twice.
Just heard today members of the staff went down to see Miller but didn't visit Hubbard. I am pretty sure the staff wanted him gone. Another nugget is the staff likes this kid from Portsmouth that not to many people know about. It was also mentioned he could win Mr. football this coming year. So we have lots of options in the rb department no worry there.
