What's your take on the concept of building the wall around your home state? It seems there are some recruiting followers that would rather get an in-state kid that may not have the talent or potential of an out of state kid for the sake of getting a kid that is in state. Your thoughts?
Welcome to 11W!
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
My personal take is that there can be some benefits to recruiting in-state kids that might not be there with out-of-state prospects. I haven't had the pleasure of working on a beat that is as expansive as Ohio State's recruitment can be, but what I've found working around Bloomington with Indiana kids is that in-state kids tend to have a pride about playing for their state schools. But many of IU's best players weren't from the state. So performance-wise, I thought emphasizing in-state recruits was a bit overrated. But when you think about the network it creates within the state, you've got to get the kids that are closest to your school to land the kids in the future that come through your state, because every state has talented recruits, and you want to get those top recruits near your school every year. I am still learning about Ohio high schools, but I've found recruiting in state is more about networking than about performance (of course, it can be both too).
Nice, thanks for the reply, I'd +1 you if I could.
Welcome, Taylor. Are you ready for the craziness around here?
Have you been to Ohio State's campus/how much do you know on the OSU beat or where do you think you'll want to spend the most time immersing yourself to get into the swing of things?
There's no points for second place, gentlemen.
I'm definitely ready to do my best here for you guys.
I'm honestly not all that familiar with the campus or Columbus area. I've visited when IU visited Ohio State in 2016, but that's the only time I've been in the area, really, besides the visits I made to find a place to live.
I think most reporters that report within the Big Ten or on college football nationally have a general knowledge of Ohio State, so I'm working toward breaking through that surface-level knowledge. Working with the people I do, that won't take too long. I worked in the Kevin Wilson era at IU, so that's also caused me to turn my eyes toward Ohio State more than the average Big Ten reporter as well.
Cheers to that! Welcome aboard!
I remember the IU kicker putting 2 off the uprights on a snow laden field in the 'Shoe a few years ago.
I'd rather be a minute early than an hour early, 'cause I like to procrastinate.
The Office or Parks and Rec?
If you continue to think what you always thought, you will continue to get what you always got. #AlumforStaff
This could be the toughest question asked today. I generally prefer Parks and Rec, but there are times when The Office can be preferred. Steve Carell is a genius in The Office, which probably makes it the better show but I think I kind of appreciate the humor in Parks and Rec a little more.
I’m thinking, Ron Swanson would be thinking, “blasphemy”.

I will salute you like Ron Swanson

The Office > Parks & Rec
everybody sleeps on 30 rock!
I like 30 rock, but it's not at the level of The Office or Parks & Rec. I'd also go with It's Always Sunny over 30 rock.
The Office is a better show.
Ron Swanson is the best character.
Swanson is great (obviously), but he's not Michael Scott.
New Day for OSU. Same noon for TTUN.
Is Archie Miller going to have a better career at Indiana than Tom Crean had?
Do you think your natural hatred of Purdue gave you a leg up in the hiring process given recent OSU football history?
"Medicine is not a science" - Leo Spaceman
I think Archie will find more postseason success than Tom Crean had. It's tough because it depends on how you define "success." Crean pulled IU out of a very deep hole, but I think they peaked during his tenure. I don't think he was going to lead them any further than the Sweet 16, and Fred Glass recognized that. Looking at the talent on IU's roster compared to their record today, it's tough to see the light ahead with Archie, but given more experience, this team will get better, without Romeo Langford and Juwan Morgan. It'll work out for the Hoosiers eventually.
Purdue blew me away in the second half of this season. I remember seeing them lose to Eastern Michigan, and I wrote them off. But they really surprised many people around the Big Ten. The win against OSU was just the summit. It was baffling. I generally don't hate Purdue though, honestly. I never really did before attending IU either. I think that hatred comes from Purdue more these days.
And then they ended with a historic whooping in their bowl game, I still can't figure that one out?
Bonus question, just how douchey is Tom Crean?

What is your favorite beer?
I don't know a out his, but mine is Double Edge IPA........ Double Edge Brewery, Lancaster, Ohio
Here's the thing: I'm just starting to expand my pallet in this regard. In college, I liked the cheapest beer I could find (and of course, I never drank before 21 *wink wink*). So I'm open to suggestions here. I've found that I like sours, some IPAs and dark beers. As far as just a beer I have in my fridge usually, I typically have Miller Lite.
Miller Lite?!? You're going to have to work to earn my trust lol
"We gotta go win this next game and make the State of Ohio proud!"-UFM
Not a corn syrup fan eh?
Fields of Dreams
I typically have Miller Lite
You seem like good people
Does the fact that Miller Lite uses corn syrup change your thoughts on your bargain beer of choice?
You win this corner of the internet today.
You want a good IPA, go with Dogfish head 60 minute. You're a bit young for me to recommend 90 minute to.
Most Great Lakes brewery beers are good, as are most Sierra Nevada. Also, for one of the only good things to come out of that state up north try Bells, especially the Oberon.
When you are ready to step up your beer game, try an Arrogant Bastard by Stone.
Why do older men like stronger beer?
It makes us feel good.
Also, our body gets used to the weaker beers, so we want some extra juice.....
Because our taste buds are dying. Oh, and we have more reasons to want to get drunk.
Thanks for replying. I am still sipping on Corona and was wondering when the magical palate sprouts?
It may not if you are drinking that Mexican Burro Piss. Are you putting a lime in it? Save yourself the trouble and go with a real beer, no fruit.
With no disrespect meant to anyone, I'm reminded of the following joke. You decide where Mexican beer should fall:
The police are British
The cooks are French
The engineers are German
The administrators are Swiss
The lovers are Italian
The police are German
The cooks are British
The engineers are Italian
The administrators are French
The lovers are Swiss
If you must go Mexican with your beer, try Negra Modelo.
Who cares about Mexico, and their beers? I've drank with the Germans, both in their country, and mine. God love the Germans, their beer, and their beer drinking habits..........
Correcting your speech, not making baseless allegations.
I give due respect to the Germans for their beer and their beer drinking ways, but if someone told me I could only have one country's* beer for the rest of my life, I'd pick Belgium. Those monks know their shit, and aren't restricted by the German Purity Law.
That Purity Law was a good thing at the time, but now holds German beer back. I mean, if you are only going to have barley, hops, yeast, and water in your beer, the Germans do a fantastic job, but there are so many more things you can do with beer.
* Actually I'd pick the US, since we do a great job craft brewing all the styles of the world.
The purity law is what makes German beer great-it's 600 years of artistry as opposed to a hipster arms race of how many hops and God knows what else you can stuff into your home brew. Beer is like art-you gotta know the rules before you can break them. Picasso was an absolutely phenomenal sketch/portrait artist before he expanded his horizons and did different things. A lot of the micro-brew breweries today are like people thinking they are Picasso or Jackson Pollock b/c they can splash paint around in the same 'style"-it doesn't mean the beer is good or especially well made. You can mock the purity laws of German beer all you want-but if you compare it in pure taste and quality to 90% of the micro brew stuff out there-you have to admit it is a far superior product.
Hey, I wasn't mocking it, just saying that it is holding them back. Those Trappists do just fine without it and without a few hundred years of your artistry.
I think my point still stands though, within your point. German beer is better than 90% of what is out there, but I can live in that 10%.
It may not if you are drinking that Mexican Burro Piss.
I think you're kidding. But, if not, don't be that guy. Mexican beer is good for what it is. If that's what somebody likes, great. There's a beer for nearly every taste nowadays. "Better" doesn't really mean much most of the time.
Candidly, I think Arrogant Bastard is one of the most overhyped, commercialized, and comparably mediocre beers in the industry. It's probably my least favorite beer that I've ever had from Stone -- or a Stone affiliate -- which have been too many to admit. And, IMO, Sierra Nevada and Great Lakes are the Wal-Mart and Target of beers, respectively. They'll give a fair representation of each style, but they aren't going to exceed expectations in any way, shape, or form.
That said, if you like them, drink them. Different strokes for different folks. Which is kind of the beauty of the beer industry in this era. Pretty much every taste is represented.
All in good fun. When I pick on Corona as Mexican Burro Piss, I'm just picking on Corona. Mexico makes some fine beers, but it isn't exactly a go to for beer as nations go in the same way that I don't look to Canada for Tequila or Jamaica for whiskey.
To each their own on Arrogant Bastard. I take your point on Sierra Nevada and Great Lakes, but I find them to be a very reliable offering that is readily available. I can count on them and find them when I need to. They also have the benefit (like Target and Walmart) of not breaking the bank.
And as I said, all in good fun. People should drink what they like, even if is mass produced with the dreaded corn syrup! ;)
Little do you know, Canadian Tequila is of the finest quality on the planet. Just kidding...
Yeah, I figured you were joking. I just run into so many people who are arrogant douchebags about the craft beer scene that, sometimes, I react when I shouldn't. Kudos to you for having a good outlook.
Also, agreed on Belgian and German beer. I don't know why monks are so good at making beer. But I'll be damned if they aren't. Likewise, though I'll drink German beer (a lot of it around Oktoberfest season), the purity laws create a ceiling of sorts.
FWIW, one of my favorite new-ish breweries from Northern Ohio lately has been Platform from Cleveland. I don't think I've had a single beer they've made that hasn't been at least a 7 out of 10 -- with the possible exception of their over-the-top sweet holiday ale. And they just opened a tasting room/coffee bar in Cincy, so that's nice.
One beer scene that's disappointed me a bit is CBus. Not that the breweries are terrible. But after having several of the breweries, they're just all kind of meh. Sadly, it kind of pales compared to Cincy and Cleveland, IMO.
Agreed on Columbus breweries. As you say, they are okay, but nothing special. And I have a mental block on the Lancaster brewery (heartland if memory serves) due to the price. All of their bottles seem about $2-$3 higher than they should be. I'm paying more for something a 45 minute drive from here (Newark) than I am for something Belgian monks have been slaving away at for centuries and that has to cross the pond?
One brewery I forgot that I always enjoy is Unibroue out of Quebec.
Lancaster has Rockmill as well. Great beer, kinda pricey. One of my favorites in the Buckeye state.
It doesn't matter whether you're the lion or a gazelle-when the sun comes up, you'd better be running.
That's the one I'm thinking of. Heartland is in Heath, I think.
Yeah on the pricey.
I live in the area. I've done the 33 brewery tour. My favorites, based on quality of beer and whether they make you feel like home (welcoming) is 33 Brewery in Logan, and Double Edge in Lancaster. Lots of variety, nice owners who will speak to you. When you come in, ask if Richard Nixon his in. No, please, no one put any beers on my tab....well, unless you buy the first round.
Why do older men like stronger beer?
I guess it depends on your definition of "older." Craft beer is incredibly popular in the Millennial demographic, no doubt. A lot of older guys (50s and up) I know are pretty strictly domestic. Gen X seems kind of split. Just my isolated observations, though.
I'm close to 60. The friends I had in college, all drank the cheap stuff, as did I. Just out of college, the same stuff. As we got older and with higher incomes, I noticed a difference in beer drinking tastes, to the more affluent beers. The friends I hang out with now, all prefer the more sophisticated stuff, which is all higher alcohol content, more robust flavors. We have a group that now goes to the local SE Ohio craft breweries, and other people are asking to be included..... it's good stuff.
No doubt there are some "older" guys tuned in to the "craft beer" scene (whatever the term "craft beer" even means anymore). Just saying that, in my experience, "older" gents are relatively more likely to have brand loyalty to the domestic titans (e.g., Bud, Miller, etc.), mostly because that was what "beer" was when they grew up. And all of the data that I've seen seems to backup that observation.
Very true with regard to drinking cheap stuff in college. Fortunately, when I went through college (I'm in my mid-30s), craft beer wasn't as prevalent as it is today. I hate to think about how much worse my student-loan debt may have been were that not the case...
Modelo Especial. You’re high paid 11W Staff now. You deserve better. Modelo Negro if you like the dark beer.
Modelo Negro has been my go to beer for years-I like Mexican restaurants just b/c they usually have it on tap now. Having Anthony Munoz as the new spokesman just makes it even cooler.
How have you managed to build relationships with recruits and find that sweet spot where they trust you and let you in so to speak but still realize you are required to also spill a few beans here and there.
That seems tricky.
I know there's a game Saturday, and my ass will be there.
I Believe In Ohio State.
That can seem tough, but it's kind of simple. You actually need to develop a genuine relationship with these kids and the people around them. Let them know that you care about their process even though you do have a base to report to. They have to know they can trust you. It takes time, but that's the best way to go when reporting on recruiting. And we do genuinely care because most of these kids are exposed to far more attention than we ever received at that age, so I want to help them as much as I can.
What's your range when it comes to music? Rock/Rap/House?
I've been dipping into about everything recently. I grew up on alternative/pop rock on the radio, 80s and 90s rock and country music. I jumped into rap/R&B in middle and high school. Really jumped into less popular stuff like indie, space pop and more rock. I've really gotten into rock and am still discovering new bands. I'm always trying to take in something new every month.
Do you like Richard Lagow?
Ofcourse he does, who doesn't like their Uber driver?
Hahaha yes, I like Richard Lagow. He's a pretty honest guy. Watching him play was like pulling out my own hair though. Was always expecting him to blow up and show his arm, but it never happened.

Whataburger all day. Don't even know why it's a debate but it apparently is.
I don’t know why it’s a debate, either. If you want a good burger and fries, you have to go with In-N-Out. Unquestionable, I agree.
Agreed! How is Whataburger even in this discussion?
Any truth to the rumor you are related to Teddy Lehman?
Hahaha mildly funny story here. My name tag for press row in Assembly Hall my first year covering the team read "Teddy Lehman," and I never said anything because it truly didn't matter to me. But it's funny that you mentioned it. That's the only other time I'd gotten that.
Taylor - welcome aboard!
Have you had a chance yet to digest the Buckeyes signing Dawand Jones and Enokk Vimahi?
My thoughts are the Dawand Jones will be an All American road grater at RT. Vimahi, if he can bulk up a bit, will be highly successful at LT.The kids footwork is very fluid and impressive.

How did you find out about your new position?
Did you ever follow 11W before then or some IU analogue?
Will Coach Wilson remember/know you?
Did you know there is a HS in Sidney, Ohio named Lehman? Small school so not sure they have too many recruits. But that might be a place you'd have an in?
And most importantly, welcome.

Thanks a lot!
My degree is in journalism with a concentration in news reporting and sportswriting. I also got a minor in English.
I had read a little bit of Eleven Warriors in my time reporting on college football, mostly for fact checking items around Ohio State. But when Colin Hass-Hill and I were students, we traded knowledge on the programs. The only independent site that is close to Eleven Warriors and remains successful against the test of time at IU is a site called Inside the Hall. A guy named Alex Bozich runs that site. He's a great guy and promotes good work. It's only about basketball though.
I honestly don't think Kevin Wilson will recognize me. It is a surprisingly large media corps, and I was just a student. I'm guessing I'd fall into the general mix of students that were always around.

Fellow IU grad here (1984), but I've been in Columbus more than six times longer than I was ever in in Bloomington. Both nice towns, for different reasons. Do they still call the student newspaper "The Daily Stupid" like when I was there? Did they ever fix the typo on the statue of Ernie Pyle? (sigh).
Anyway, seriously - welcome!
Hahaha I was actually in the archives my senior year and noticed people called it the Indiana Daily Stupid for years and years. It made me laugh. My girlfriend was actually the last editor-in-chief there. She's currently a senior.
I don't believe they ever fixed that typo, which is extremely ironic.
This is my first time living in a city, actually. I'm from a small town in Indiana, so Bloomington was the biggest place I had lived before here. I'm enjoying it so far. I can tell that it's a great place. Can't wait to get settled.
Which small town?
For those not aware, in 2014 IU dedicated a statue in front of the School of Journalism in honor of famous WWII war correspondent Ernie Pyle, who was killed in 1945 at the battle of Okinawa. Just before the unveiling of the statue, it was discovered that there was a typo! The word "correspondent" appeared on his shoulder patch with one "r" dropped.
According to the Google Machine, the mistake was repaired in 2015.

Happy to welcome you Aboard!
Will you you be picking up the old recurring recruiting articles and/or will you be placing your own spin on it?
I'm still determining how to bridge the original recruiting content into my tenure here, so once I figure it out, I'll begin putting my own little spin on it. Just getting familiar with how things worked around here before me at the moment so that I can keep things as normal as possible for the readers.
We left normal quite a while ago. Start with triage, go from there.

Man, I want to. One just opened in Fort Wayne actually, but I never made it that way. I'll have to find the nearest one and get there ASAP.
This was actually a trick question. You fell for it.
Don't believe 992. I'm a lifelong Skyline lover and there's nothing funny about Skyline chili!!
I'm devouring a plate full right now!!!!
Have you honestly seen the movie, Hoosiers - in its entirety? For a movie that came out almost 10yrs before you were born, I have my doubts.
One man's trash, is another man's treasure
I'm a horrible Hoosier when it comes to movies. I've never seen Hoosiers or Breaking Away. I have seen Rudy.
To get you up to speed:
How did you graduate IU without seeing Breaking Away on campus? It was great to see how they edited scenes to jump from place to place across town while making it appear to be continuous. They torn down the old stadium to put in the arboretum shortly after I left.
I've never seen Hoosiers or Breaking Away. I have seen Rudy.
You just lost all credibility in my eyes.

I'm a big fan of rock. I know that's a very generic answer, but rock covers a lot of different sounds, and I have yet to find one that I despise. I like The Doors, The Killers, Prince, Arctic Monkeys, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac and Radiohead. A bunch of different sounds there.
I guy can go far around here when he mentions The Killers and Radiohead. They'll wonder why you didn't say Led Zeppelin, though, and appreciate that jam bands were omitted

That's how I met Poppy, except in Davis, CA.
Also: Disneyland or Disney World?
Welcome Taylor. So, my important question(s): are you a movie buff and, if so, what is your favorite sports movie related to Indiana: “Hoosiers,” “Rudy,” or “Breaking Away”?
in any case, best of luck in your new position. I can attest that recruiting has come a long way over the years. As a high school soccer player before Pele ever came to this country and helped transform soccer here, I still have the form letter with my name typed in from the coach of the school I wound up at, expressing pleasure that I applied. It’s a different world in recruiting, for better and worse.
Breaking Away, easy.
Does Braxton throw against that team?
Assuming you root for IU, are you the first 11W staff member not to be a Buckeye Fan ?

Will you brush my hair when needed?
Stay golden, Ponyboy.
What do I do if there’s inclimate weather?
As a Non-alum, non-Ohioan and being new to Columbus, what drew you to 11W? I think we all agree that the OSU recruiting scene is more attractive than IU's, but what are you most excited about in your new role?
"The Edge is where average stops and elite begins"
I'm always growing as a reporter. I initially jumped into recruiting reporting because you need to be really good at the basic reporting skills to do this job well. What better test is there than working on recruiting in Columbus? That is just outside of the spectacle of college football in general, the people I get to work with and everything that comes with being close to a program. There's a lot to be excited about at this job.
Ill ask the important question since nobody has. Should coach stud of been retained or not?
Hey Taylor. It’s Garrett Maag. It’s pretty cool to see someone from Kendallville on here! Since my mom taught you I think if you ever have a free ticket to the game you should send it to me ;) good luck and go bucks!
Hey man! Good to hear from you! I can't tell if this is really you or if it's your mom that typed that message hahaha I appreciate it. Good luck in school.
You’re from Kendalltucky?!!

Are the rumors about Coach Wilson being a Bob Huggins-esque party monster at IU true?
I hope so
When comparing UM to OSU's 2019 recruiting classes there has been much back and forth. The OSU contingent cites the larger class average and higher top end rankings whereas the UM contingents cites if you compare the top 16 of each class UM's average is better and they also have a bunch more guys. How do you compare the two classes and which do you feel is stronger?
Strength equipment is expensive & guarantees you nothing. A strong will is free & will give you everything you need.
Related: will Michigan ever beat Ohio state again?
Are you still on about this, weasel fan? Barely anyone on here would rather have TTUN's recruiting class. I bet deep down you would trade for Harrison, Wilson, Miller and Fields in a heartbeat.
Are you still on about this, weasel fan?
Name calling?...OK :/
Barely anyone on here would rather have TTUN's recruiting class.
This new recruiting fella is unbiased and not an OSU fan, so I'm curious about his opinion.
I bet deep down you would trade for Harrison, Wilson, Miller and Fields in a heartbeat.
One, Fields is in the '18 class. Two, of course I would love to have Harrison, Wilson, and Miller. However, given UM's team makeup and the fact that we already have equally ranked guys at those positions I'd prefer to have Hill, Hinton, Jones, and Charbonet. That's not a knock on OSU's class. It's great, but small. Personally I think UM's is a better one, but again I'm curious about an unbiased person's perspective who is a professional.
Who did you/are you calling first to introduce yourself/build a network?

Welcome aboard Taylor. We aren't really a tuff crowd just one that craves a constant update on recruiting. I noticed at least three posters have asked about your high school/college connections, plans to make inroads in Ohio and other states but perhaps most importantly; the status of the next Hurry Up report .
Beginning Wednesday, there will be a Hurry Up report every evening which will continue to become more and more insightful as I continue developing connections.

Welcome aboard. What are your thoughts on Kevin Wilson's departure from IU? Also, Spell Check won't save you. It's your palette you want to expand for craft beers, not pallet. You'll have lots of choices to do so in Columbus, starting with Land Grant and Brewdog.
Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.
I'd assume it's really his palate, but what do I know?
Nope, pallet. 40"x48" just isn't big enough for what he's bringing.
Have you changed your twitter background yet?
The only true worry we should have about this 2019 team is this:
Why is Sevyn Banks wearing number 12?

Isnt is a little strange to get all that worked up or even care about the decision of some teenage?
Then I met some friends for a beer. We went to a Bodeans concert. And son of a Vondruke if I didn't leave him at the concert hall.
Isn't it then strange to get all worked up to watch said teenagers play a game?
I think I get more enjoyment from tOSU recruiting than I do actual Buckeye games, and don't think I am alone in that sentiment. I would rather see us set the all-time recruiting record next year then win the national championship. It's the old which came first, the chicken or the egg.
WTF!?! Starhanding out championship over a NC? That is the craziest thing I have ever read on this site, if serious.
I think he gets more out of a game day than a recruiting day.
...but there's only 14 game days a year and there's 300+ recruiting days. And unlike most game days, some of those recruiting days are actually competitive.
...so I get it.
That's like someone saying the'd rather see Picasso get the best quality paints or canvas ever, as opposed to painting another 'Guernica" or something on that level...................
I find art boring so I can't attest to your example.
I get more enjoyment from driving (never flying though) to a vacation then the actual vacation. I don't think anyone can be wrong in this matter.
ah, a Spanish Civil War related mention.
No one expects the Spanish Civil War!
errr...that's not quite right, is it?
I am dead serious. I didn't say every year but I really want tOSU to win a 247 title. I just love following recruiting, I don't think you can hate on me for that?
I wanted the new writer to know how much recruiting info is valued by some on this site.
I follow recruiting very closely-I like knowing who is going where. I just view recruiting as a means to an end-having a powerful football program that reloads instead of rebuilding, not an end in and of itself. The constant coverage, aside from breaking commits, is just fluffed up gossip for the most part, imo. To each their own.
but but but I thought you didn't comment, no?
This guy has commented 3 times in the last 5 years, and they were all about how stupid he thinks recruiting is. LOL
And what kind of man calls there wife an obscene name in an online forum?
Who's your favorite MOD?
One of my best friends attended IU and I went to the 2016 and 2017 little 5 festivities. My question to you: is there a better beer deal than the $6/case Big Red? For being cheaper than Natty, I was surprisingly impressed with the quality of the beer.
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
Have you been to Moretti's on Sawmill? Why not?
I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.
probably hasn't had enough positive, credible recommendations
Isn't that the place that uses Ragu and has obscene corking fees?
Welcome to Ohio State football!
Welcome aboard looking forward to the articles.
Honestly, are you regretting doing an AMA? Either way, welcome aboard!!
All, he didn't list a favorite hockey team. Don't trust him...

Welcome, Taylor. How important are sources and relationships with recruits to this work? If important, what is your to develop those?
What's it going to be like to cover a real football team?

Used Kids Records on Summit St just south of Hudson & Lost Weekend Records on High St in Clintonville just north of campus. Your welcome & welcome to the family.
Do some serious homework on Kendall Milton btw. My stepfathers best friend (both RIP now) was a scout for the Buckeyes from Earl Bruce to Urban Meye,r until he passed in 2015. Told me Urban to tOSU was a done deal a couple of months before the speculation started. He scouted some of our best running backs (names we all know) before they were big names some even before they hit high school. Used to play me tape of Bo Jackson (who he said was “A running back designed by God”) and compare all the kids he scouted to Bo’s tape. Kendall on film is the closest I’ve seen to Bo. Dale would have loved watching his film and trekking out to Cali to see him in person.
PB&J or Nutella?
Do you plan on hanging around for longer than three weeks?
Do you plan on taking a van sabbatical anytime soon?
Taylor.. like to have a lot of fresh fruit around here and chocolate chips in my pancakes. TIA.
Any thoughts on TV commercials?

All joking aside, WELCOME TO 11W!

Prior to your 247 internship, did you follow football recruiting? I mean, IU isn't a football school and never signs top recruits...let alone have top classes. So, I wonder how much everyday students, or specifically you, would have followed recruiting.

Proper Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance.
I'll be borrowing that phrase. +1 for your father's wisdom. Thanks brother!
298, I would like to reserve the right to use that phrase as well... albeit at times carefully chosen with my grandsons as they get older. Your father is/was a wordsmith.
I’m sure my father is smiling up in heaven right now knowing that his “wisdom” is being extended to future generations. The funny thing is I only heard him say it once to me in regard to something I did (actually didn’t do), but boy, did it me thinking in the future.
However, I did hear him use it more in regard to his co-workers, coaches and politicians. He’d say always remember the 6 P’s.
Welcome, Taylor! I hope you now feel suitably welcomed.
Welcome and I won't hold it against you for your first response but I disagree with it 100%. Players are players and they do their best and being a home state kid gives you no advantage. You give your all and it's like saying Haskins would of done better and played harder if he was at Maryland or if Zeke was at Missouri or the Bosa's at a Florida school. So since they are not in those states they didn't play as hard and give their full 100%. The problem with some of our readers here they fail to realize that Ohio talent is not as strong as it once was most years. Then when a player does well at another school that wasn't highly recruited they say why didn't we get him. They fail to realize for everyone that slips through the cracks another 100 would of never sniffed the field here. There are many reasons why many Ohio players don't land here Speed Size Criminal Records they didn't want to come here or a position that wasn't needed filled along with other reasons. Lastly at the end of the day very very few Ohio kids make the NFL that didn't play here. I love Ohio kids when they land here like the next person but currently there are a few that have not made the field here and probably won't be starters here that were Ohio's top recruits in their recruiting class unless they turn it up. The true problem is we would of had a couple more NC's if we recruited out of state more years ago and not rely on Ohio talent. Either way good luck to you and welcome aboard. I wish you lived in Ohio you would have a advantage and do a better job though. I'm sure you know I'm bustin your chops and again good luck and will judge your talents and work not what state your from. Go Bucks
JIF creamy or crunchy?
I’m kind of late to the party. The collecting vinyl caught my eye.
i have a minor collection of vinyl records (maybe 400 - some worth something, some not). Do you stil play yours?
i have a towering entertainment center which has a main purpose of storing my vinyl in the bottom cabinets (child lock for kids now in college still attached).
How do you store your vinyl?

Seems like he might be busy with the recruiting stuff. I think this can turn into a free-for-all at this point.
Yeah prolly not the best of looks - I'm out - I'll let him answer the rest.
