meh. C ya My dude.
Best of luck in Miami
The North Remembers
Tathan maybe that will help.
Every time a see a story about him, I lose more respect as it turns out he didn’t tell the truth at all.
Don't care - he gone
At least we're not from Detroit...
Tathan gone Tate, good luck in south beach, bruh!
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
We will always have the "he is ass" quote. That is right up there with "play school" in my book. Hahaha "he is ass". Classic Tathan
Don't forget "We're stretching, and you're a kicker" and "Shit happens Bum Juice"
I read blitz
Yeah, I think Play School and Bum Juice are the two all-time greats.
You Got Barbecue Back There!?!?!?!
Far too much attention for an elusive slot receiver (because reality is he's a QB wannabe despite Rutgers) who thinks the sun rises and sets on him.
3rd transfer attempt was a charm
Leave one wolf alive....and the sheep are never safe
Silver lining to Urban retiring. This would have been 3 years of a JT Barrett called offense on steroids. Probably saved few a few years on my life, to be honest.
Tate saw when he lost out to Haskins that the offense was changing in a way that his main skills were now secondary instead or primary. As stupid as the NCAA is I could not see them granting anything off of the fact that a coach was suspended for 3 games and fully expected to return to coach as he did.
I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan!
Yeah, 38-6 would be really hard to take. Good thing you were saved from that!
Do better. You know what was incinuated and you know he’s right.
"Come on, you sons of b!tches! Do you want to live forever?" -- Dan Daly, WWI
Really looking forward to seeing him not win the job down there.
Why? . . . you were all in on him until Project Switcheroo went into effect--right? Whether any of us Buckeye 'lifers' want to see it his way, Martell has every right to feel somewhat screwed over, since he was a 5 star who could have chosen from a number of other schools that still run their version of Meyer's 2006 era offense--right?
All of this brings back the question; does anyone actually believe that we've been given the whole story r.e. Zach Smith, Urban's sudden health based retirement, and all the ancillary rumor-mill fodder that's plagued us all for most of this past season? To my way of thinking, this was "iconic powerhouse program dookey cleanup detail 101;" and IMO it must have been some pretty smelly shit for Meyer to be jettisoned for the sake of the program and the university's "image health" . . . so please, let's not be mean spirited regarding Tate's future and the corresponding attitudes displayed concerning OSU in the media, going forward.
Go Tate, Go Urban and (as always) Go Bucks!!!
All progress has resulted from people who took unpopular positions. -Adlai Stevenson, governor, US ambassador
Because he's an entitled clown who ran his mouth then ran away when he would have had to back it up. Had he handled this situation with class I'd be rooting for him. Since he chose not to, I'm rooting for any DE that faces him.
My dislike for Tate has nothing to do with him leaving and all about how he did it. I get that choosing to come here only for the offense to change really sucks but everything he's done since that became the case has made me somewhat glad he's gone. Don't wish him ill, but don't wish him here, either.
Wylde, I don’t buy into the narrative that the offense “changed” at all. It took half a season to adapt to having someone so ARM talented versus LEG talented as Haskins was. What were they supposed to do, keep running the run-option scheme with Haskins? Of course they had to adapt last year for Haskins. I’m 100% certain that they wold have adapted to Tate’s strengths as well had he stayed and won the job. I don’t think Martell got screwed at all. Every player at every position has to compete with all-comers. Why do people feel bad for him that the Buckeyes want to bring in the best players possible? As if we should have brought in a couple of weak QB classes and not take the highest rated recruit we’ve ever had just so Tate wouldn’t have to compete. Lastly, the way he conducted himself before, during, and after he left is just plain bad. This is not the type of leader we would want on our team no matter how talented he is. Kudos to Justin Fields for being classy during his exit from Georgia and never responding to Tate’s attempts to diss him and for going about his business confidently pursuing the path that he felt was best. That’s the kind of leader we want.
Hindsight is, and in, 2020
I couldn’t agree more.
"You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, & in the manner in which you live.
So, live. Live. Fight like hell. And when you get too tired to fight then lay down and rest and let somebody else fight for you. "

And I have a marked propensity toward a similar viewpoint.
My favorite team? Whoever is playing TTUN.
Honestly, just glad he's gone at this point. Move on. We have.
Please go away Tathan.
*Tathan. If he does get a waiver and wins the job, I'll be sure to watch some Miami games. Although I think Fields and Baldwin are better, I'm still curious as to what Tathan can do
"Families is where our nation finds hope, where wings take dream."
You sound a little biased claiming Baldwin is the better player.
Yeah sounds like those guys saying Haskins should start over JT... oh wait
Ok so I had no problem with Tathan talking crap when the rumors of Fields coming because whatever, I like a little fire. But now that he's saying he tried to transfer during the season, why even bother with the Twitter noise during Rose Bowl week?
Was he lying about trying to transfer in-season? Just wants to keep his face in the news?
Shoulda replied here instead of a new post below, but I think this is coming out now for Tathan to use to make his case look more "dire" to the NCAA.
Solid point for sure.
I suspect that it wouldn’t take much for him to stare that OSU had recruiting violations or that urban knew about Zach and covered it up. Just to be eligible.
Wouldnt put anything past this punk
The only good thing about The Game is winning it - Urban Meyer
Well, with this information and in light of his words prior to and at the climax of his transfer, now I just see him as a little bitch.
Strike that - a 5'11" bitch.
Standing in high heels.
As the astute prophet Coolio once said......"If you can't take the heat get yo' ass out the kitchen, we're on a mission"
This Coolio of whom you speak must have been a very inspired intellectual to have written such prepossessing poetry.
This seems doubtful and more likely just being used to add weight to his current appeal.
"See, I was already thinking about it LAST year, and now Urban retiring was the final straw."
That's absolutely what's going on here. It's a move to try to get immediate eligibility. The argument is something like: (1) Tate was worried about his career at the time of the suspension, (2) Tate wanted to transfer, but the Urban-led coaching staff talked him out of it with future promises and assuring him that the suspension was only a temporary thing and would not affect Urban's future, (3) However, Urban was actually already considering retiring, so this was a lie. Therefore, Tate deserves to get immediate eligibility, because he would have transferred last year and sat out a year but didn't because of lies and false promises by a now-retired coach.
Who knows if it'll work or if it's even true, but the NCAA transfer guidelines are explicitly clear that coaching changes by themselves are not considered adequate reasons for immediate eligibility appeals, so he pretty much has to at least try to make the case stronger.
Also makes more sense that we barely saw him again after Rutgers.
Pretty sure last year would’ve counted because he’d already played in a couple of games, and his redshirt year was 2017. So transferring midseason or bow is the same. Either way he sits in 2019 unless he graduates or the NCAA approves his waiver.
The smart play would’ve been to fight it out thru the spring, like Burrow did, finish his degree and then transfer. NCAA wouldn’t be involved at all.
The college kid that can earn a 4 year degree in 3 years takes an exceptional student. And to do it while taking a full load of football, well I find unimaginable. I am not suggesting it can’t be done. I know the Joe Burrows and Stephen Collier’s have done it
It got me to wondering, Navy, how many years it took you to graduate? Just wondering.
"There are 3 things that can happen and 2 of them are bad" - the Curse of Woody Hayes
Just wondering? That was a little direct.
I kinda feel bad for being Team Tathan
It's probably just a play to leverage the Urban thing as his argument to get a waiver at Miami. I'm so over him at this point.
I've even stopped following his sister on I.G.
I kid, I don't do the social media thing.
Fields of Dreams
This kid is such a pussy. I have a friend who knew Tate in high school and apparently hes a massive douche, no surprise there.
Random positive note: Same guy was buddies with Brendon White at Liberty, sounds like a great dude. Very humble
Double post :/
All you have to do is watch QB1 to see what Tate and his family are all about. On another note, I know a few people from the Liberty school system and all talked about how great Brendon White is....and this was all before he ever got in the game
I actually heard a funny high school story about Brendon that maaaaybe shows he isn't suuuuuuper humble? In this instance he was trying to impress a girl, though, and we've all done crazy things for girls...so he still could be a humble guy.
What's the funny story? I went to Liberty and my younger sister graduated with and was friends with Brendon. He dated the same girl for like 2-3 years in high school/while at OSU. Who was he trying to impress?
Wearing dad's NFL/Super Bowl ring(s) when a girl was at his house. No clue what year. Don't want to say who the girl is, I'm friends with her family. The more I think about it, I'm sure it was just a high school boy being a high school boy - not a big deal at all, and not necessarily an indication that he's not a humble kid, which I hope I made clear in the first post, but I reiterate here.
So all of his talk was jibberish. I mean we knew that after he transferred but this just confirmed it. His heart was never at OSU and the program is better off without him.
Best of luck to him.
PLEASE!!!...NO MORE TATE STORIES!

Yeah wish these would stop. At this point, I believe this is addition by subtraction.
No way. The pitchforks are out. He did us all wrong and must pay/s.
lol what a little punk he is. And yes little in the physical way. Guarantee he wont see the field in Miami and will transfer to dIII where he will be the same height as the rest of them
Successful people do what they have to, whether they feel like it or not
So, all that went on didn't bother him, until he lost his starting spot again?! Then, the nightmares came back? Got it!
McMurphy level journalism (a.k.a. trash!) strikes again!
You can get a pill for that.
Y'all got a gas can?
ha ha ha...brilliant !!
That is fantastic.
Thank the Maker that I was born in Ohio, cradle of coaches, US Presidents, confederate-stomping Generals, the Uncomparable Joe Burrow, and home of The Ohio State University Buckeyes- 2014 UNDISPUTED National Champions!
We would have missed those 6 rushing yards the 2nd half of the season
Fryer, that is some ice cold sheeeit you spewed right there!
What a mouthy little shit. OSU is better off without...and that would be even if Fields did not come here.
Stay golden, Ponyboy.
I've mentioned it before but it is no coincidence that Meyer would continuously praise Tate in media sessions during the season. This guy has a fragile ego and wasn't happy with having to wait his turn. If you read back when he first arrived in Spring 2017 he was upset to not be handed the job. Nevermind that the 3 guys ahead of him were JT Barrett, Dwayne Haskins, and Joe Burrow
But what have any of them ever done?
The (never ending ) Tate Martell saga...
15-1 is SWEET!
The Tathathan saga continues.
Honestly the more that I hear about Tate the more I am glad he is gone.
Gotta agree. I'm not privvy to any locker room talk, but it would appear that the entire locker room is better off without him.
I just wonder if his own words can be used against him. It's hard to claim hardship when you keep spouting off on Twitter about staying at OSU and winning the job, then turning around and claiming hardship. Frankly I don't care if he wins his appeal or not, I just think it's possible that running his mouth could bite him in the end.
I cant blame a kid for wanting to play somewhere. WE dont actually KNOW what coaches told him to hold him. Posters were very hyped about Martells credentials when he signed on LOID.
Why cant y'all just let it go? Naysayers sound like jilted lovers and it's everyday it seems. Get over it juveniles!
For in the last days there shall arise false Christs and false prophets and shall show great signs and wonders insomuch that if it were possible they shall deceive the very elect. Matthew 24:24 KJV
This board let it go?
After two months ago he was being hailed as the next greatest competitor to now trash that would never see the field anyway except for gimmick pages (which this board was giddy over)?
“This board” has many different members. Please show me where the users who were praising Martell are the same ones trashing him now.
Go back and read game threads and articles about mid season where Haskins was too slow, we needed a change of pace, etc.
Go read the articles in December when he was saying he was the starter regardless of what Fields was doing. Many posters LOVED it LOVED his competitiveness.
Now its “Bye bye”
Gee Bucks... you don't seem to have a very high opinion of this board. Nothing on it seems to please you as you disagree with everything on it! I suggest you move north until you smell it and then west until you step in it. It's hard to miss. Is a huge, grey toilet bowl they call 'the big house'. Appropriately, it's located in a town named after a whore. Good luck! The mgoblog people will LOVE you!
Just telling it like it is. That’s all. Burrow left because he wasn’t going to be the starter not because he graduated. Tate left because he wasn’t going to be the starter.
No difference right? Except how they went about it.
Tate left because he wasn’t going to be the starter.
Not according to Martell. Hell, we don't even know if Fields is going to be eligible, yet. No one knows who the starter is going to be.
Except how they went about it.
That's exactly the point everyone has made, and you continue to say that there's no difference in the circumstances.
I have, and I read them when they happened. Please, as I asked, show where it's the same members who are now trashing him.
It doesn't matter whether you're the lion or a gazelle-when the sun comes up, you'd better be running.
Turns out he was about that #3stripelife the whole time.
New Day for OSU. Same noon for TTUN.
Taters gonna Tate
Tate Martell and Doug Nester....2 names I don't care to ever hear again.
I can think of another name that I don't ever want to hear again, but I am tired of my account being suspended and just want to move on.
His brother is better, anyway.
Is it Linga? Its Linga isn't it.
MICHIGAN STILL SUCKS
I'm guessing Tate's actions were a reaction to Baldwin's throwing ability. Saw the writing on the wall.
Writing was on the wall during Fall Camp, but he was given reps with the 1s (Starters) to try and placate him. Then once players met with the Media, it was Tate who started mouthing off about special packages being in place for him; Lol!
How high up was the writing on that wall?
This makes all his comments last season seem even more strange. Remember after his show out in mop up duty and he was interviewed after the game and followed up on Twitter "how he forgot to say playing behind Haskins made him such a better player". Addition thru subtraction
How long until Brett McMurphy comes up with a fake story about Tathan's transfer?
"We talkin' about practice?!" -Allen Iverson 2002
Brett M: "Tate was the one who signed for Zach Smith's illicit packages delivered to the WHAC. And Urban Meyer was the one who made him do it."
It is clear that he was never gonna be anything more than a gimmick package here, especially with Day. Without Fields, he probably saw or was told, Baldwin was gonna start. Now with Fields, he was 3rd string at best. Entitled and Butt-hurt describe him best. I don't see him winning the job in Miami, let alone being successful.
If he is granted immediate playing time, I feel like he will have that same entitled mindset. He will not win the job and be looking to transfer again. This time claiming his feeling got hurt because he was called "short"
He was never told or promised anything, he didnt want to compete. He wanted the job handed to him because he felt he had earned by simply being here the longest. Im typically opposed to name calling but coward comes to mind.
My 2 cents is that I believe that he was told that the offense is moving away from the Braxton/JT offense to more of a Dwayne style which he obviously doesn't fit. With QB depth already a problem his leaving frees up a scholly for another player that that can play that style.
That’s rediculous. I’ve heard this theory on here before and it makes zero sense with him being lined up to be our starter next year and no guarantees that Justin Fields would work out. Also, this is the third time he threatened to transfer, so we already know he had been considering this long before anyone even knew Meyer was leaving. I mean, it is a theory, but I’ve never heard any sound reasoning that would back it. Tate has shown throughout that he is all about himself. Why would anyone sit Tate down and tell him that?
I'm more concerned with why his backpack has spikes.
I hate the offseason.
Its drippy af
You're too old to use any form of "drip" or "af."
"Attack the Strong, Trample the Weak, Hurdle the Dead!"
-Former OSU S&C Coach Lichter
B/c it looks cool?
He was on the transfer portal more minutes than he was at OSU
Should of held out. Could start at FSU where he’d have no competition.
I'm sure he will transfer there next.
He should have gone to UGA, at least he would have been second string.
Wish the kid good luck....his story and promise changed and collapsed very quickly....reminds me of another kid whose parents expectations of unchallenged ascent and riches made it very hard on him to operate in the real world...#13.....Tathan seems to have been very pampered by adults in his life....hate to see a kid ruined this way..
I'd rather have the bag of tots.
Tate was never a Buckeye
Tate was a disappointment both as an athlete and as a person. He said something like "bring on the competition and I will be the starting QB." Well so much for becoming the starting QB at OSU not to mention not keeping his word and accepting the challenge.
Approximately how many current or 2018 tOSU teammates have tweeted him since he left? Less than zero??
Poor old Tathan was so neglected (sniff) that he was forced to play under such awful conditions (sniff) as a 13-1 team (sniff sniff).
"I find your lack of kalua disturbing" - Darth Lebowski
Joey Burrow II
Let the dude go.
This comment is unfair to Joe Burrow.
Who is blue, fast and likes rangs? The Dankey Kang.
No. He left. Tate left. They both left for the same reason- playing time
They are gone. Both of them.
Burrow actually graduated though. He fought for the job and respectfully bowed out after he got beat by potential #1 pick.
Unfortunately, Tate was all bark and no bite.
Beat me by three minutes. Great minds and all.
Yes, compete for starting job in spring 2019, graduate then transfer. Not rocket science.
You can spin it any way you want. Graduated or not...he left.
Both left and left because they weren’t going to be starters.
Joey left JUST because he graduated? NO. He left so he could play. Just like Tate.
Timing and circumstances are completely different. You’re oversimplifying the two.
Burrow stuck around, competed for the job, didn’t get it, graduated and transferred. Didn’t ask for special favors.
Martell claimed he was going to the the starter, changed his mind, decided to transfer before Fields has even been approved to play in 2019, and is asking for a waiver from the NCAA transfer rules so he doesn’t lose a year of eligibility.
They both left for the same reason.
Cut and dried.
Don’t over analyze the two.
How do you know for certain that Martell was not going to start? Fields hasn't even been declared eligible, yet, and Baldwin hasn't taken a single meaningful snap.
It's not over-analyzing to say that Burrow knew who the number one was going to be. Yes he transferred so he could start. But he did it in a manner that he didn't need to drag up some trumped up story to obtain an eligibility waiver. You seem to be conflating these two circumstances solely on the fact that the players involved want to be starters. Isn't that true of every player, walk-on or scholarship athlete? Don't they all want to start? By your definition then, anyone who transfers is doing so for the same reason.
And from what I've read in these comments, no one is faulting Martell for wanting to be a starter. That's what fans want. A hungry gamer, who's confident and ready to put in the work to be the guy. The problem that most commenters have voiced is that Martell showed that initially, and then completely changed tunes once Fields' transfer was official. He would've had more credibility, and probably been the target of much less venom, if he's just said, "The coaches have informed me that the program is going a different direction with the offense and QBs. It appears that my talents will be better suited at another school." Leave it at that, and I doubt anyone says a peep about Martell's transfer.
I only had one fuck left in the bucket...and I gave it to you Dude...then you fucked me...you think I get my fucks free...or I go to Wal-Mart and buy them...I earn my fucks from the Fuck Master...so Fuck you Tater...Go Fuck Master...Go Bucks
That was very profound.
He's a kid QB in pursuit of his dream and the world he thinks wants, needs to know. Good luck to him. I hope he does find his pot of gold. There have been far worse who've achieved far more, and I couldn't care less about them.
"A lot of dead people wish they were out here right now."
I hope he does find his pot of gold.
Calling Tate a leprechaun is going a bit far, Nickel....s/
No need for the sarcasm font here, Silver.
Thank you, Floyd. I would have thought that too if not for what I’ve witnessed of folks not understanding when somebone is joking or being sarcastic around here.
Hah, my wish: I still had the kid's hairline
Who gives a shit, he is gone, it does not matter anymore.
Tathan "Anzalone" Martell
Everyone seems to know all about the Martell situation, and talk trash. I’ll be very curious (and amused at those), if our “savior” Justin Fields, and our prematurely anointed “super head coach” Ryan Day fail to live up to the ridiculous expectations most on this site have proclaimed. I can already hear most commenters here turning on both with ugly (and ignorant) statements, proclaiming to know more how to run the program than the coaches. I’ve been a huge Buckeye fan for probably more years than most commenters on this site have been alive. I’ve come to understand over the years why college football fans outside of Buckeye Nation consider Buckeye fans buffoons. I bleed scarlet and gray as much, if not more, than most. But I’m not stupid enough to rip into decisions made by college students, or question coaching decisions made by those who have forgotten more about football than I’ve ever known. Hopefully, the idiots on this site who get their jollies by spewing garbage are just the extremely small minority of Buckeye Nation. I will always root for Ohio State in all aspects, and continue to support, win or lose. I WILL NOT question (with extreme hate) coaches decisions on play calling and/or who should be playing. I don’t see everyday practices, week after week, year after year.. Neither do you. For the record, I will also pull for Martell, just as I have for other Buckeye transfers. I just hope the bigger percentage of Buckeye Nation shares the same loyalty and support as I do.
Welcome to the 11W board. Some think they know the best interests of all prospects as well as current rostered players.
It’s fair to say that’s true in nearly every sports website comment section. It’s not unique to 11W.
You are correct. Every sports website has their share of morons who know it all. Buckeye Nation is so huge, it just seems we have the corner on that market.
Here's an upvote to help counter the DVs. Thanks for speaking up (obviously a few people do not agree with you.)
This was before Fileds came into the picture what the hell is wrong with this kid ??
" we play to win the game "
The U seems like a good fit for him. I hope he balls out down there.
Lol... Just think, there were threads where people were calling for Tate to take reps from Haskins.
I’m kind of over talking about Little Man Tate. Let’s focus on our future!
I hope he finds in Miami what he wasnt able to earn at OSU.
Kid is a great athlete who could still have a bright future ahead of him.
I Hate Michigan.
Please oh please no more Tate.
Instead pulling this kids chain he opened the door for another recruit. He wants to play and in my eyes didn't seem to make waves and moved on and we should too. Plus as it turned out Nester might be a blessing too down the road we will see. I can see him at Marshall when it all shakes out in the end.
The saddest part of this saga is that there is now competition for the title of “Flakiest QB named Tate in B1G history”...
You really didn't want to say "flakiest", did you? You wanted to go somewhere else. Somewhere with jazz hands and white wine spritzers and drama and excellent taste in fashion and crying. Lots and lots of crying.
Kudos for staying above the temptation.
LOL....bet it was a Walkman too!
So wait a minute.... was Tate Forcier also a Tathan?
Reminder: Tate Martell once bought Twitter followers as a high schooler.
We had heard this multiple times. Almost wish Urban would have let him transfer the first time since were short on Qbs now.
Its also kind of mind boggling that Urban didn’t prioritize another QB in this class to add depth.
He is off the team, so I don't care.
Slow buckeye sports news day eh?
The will to win is not as important as the will to prepare to win. -- Woody Hayes
Some people use the douche bag tag too much. methinks. Then other me toos hop right onto the wagon. So original and so juvenile!
Go read all the “Hell yes“ statements on how Tate was our guy
I'm sick of seeing posts about this pussy. Get lost kid.
Fuck eSECpn and fuck Mythigan.
Mods: Please stop force feeding us Tathan articles, I think you beat this dead horse long enough.....
Top of the food chain
Same with Burrow articles. Way too many on a guy who was not a Buckeye
You've got to kick at the darkness till it bleeds daylight.
11W ESPN/Martell/media/other teams program obsessives aren't wrong, they're just assholes!
Meh, he's gone...out with the entitlement
Class of 2010.
No need for that kind of entitlement. We earn everything around here.
" Successful people are very lucky. Just ask every failure."

truthfully I think we dodged a bullet with this kid. Watch qb1 on netflix and you'll see what I mean. Entitled kid ,so he thought.
just go the fuck away already. a moratorium posting on this little fella...pullease.
