Congrats goes out to Coach Day and his staff on the Quality of these recruits.
The future is in GREAT hands !!
Go get'em Cal Poppy - we are behind you !!
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.
SL says it all!
I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.
Thanks - this offense will be unleashed and the defense will be disciplined.
Ohio State then ended the class on a mixed note up front on the offensive line
I don’t agree with this. I feel like landing those two studs in place of Dnest is a huge win! And we may still land the Rutgers stud as well. Nothing mixed about it.
Chase Young wouldn't make a good pimple on this Harrison kids arse, expect big things right out of the box from Harrison the real deal. (I'm talking Bosa numbers, but a lot less injury's)
I'm very excited to see this recruiting class develop under the leadership of Coach Day and staff. Though small in number, this class is very talented and loaded with young men of character. Go Bucks!
Can hardly wait for the class nickname for next year. Guesses ?
We get pleny in twenty
Just saw a ranking that had us at 14th. Not bad at all. Next year top 4 at least.
2020 The Vision
Mad Dogs 20/20
Here is the top 50 ranking from 247.com showing us at 14th. We might be number 1 in your heart but numbers don't lie. Hoping our staff gets the maximum from each guy. We got as many 5 stars as Bama. True but they got far more 4 stars.
I did some research on 'Bama and their constantly high number of signees in their recruiting classes. Below are numbers for the last 7 years.
2019 - 27
2018 - 22
2017 - 28
2016 - 25
2015 - 24
2014 - 26
2013 - 26
The average number of players per year is 25.4 and if you count four classes for the team, this comes out to 100 scholarship players on the team. The NCAA has an 85-scholarship limit. So how exactly is it that Bama can be within the NCAA rules with these numbers? Does this "gray shirt" term they use keep them below the limit? This doesn't make sense to me on the surface.
What's round on the ends and high in the middle? Tell me if you know!
A quality over quantity class. These guys are going to make a lot of noise!
"The only good thing about it is winning the d*** thing" - Urban Meyer on The Game The War
No bio on Craig Young? I think he will have a big impact down the road.
"You win with people" — Woody Hayes
some really smart posters told me that nester was going to psu, Hawaiian kid was going to USC, and jones was going to psu.
no way they could have been this far off....
Trolly Trolly Oxen Free.
Or maybe they were just not making good predictions? Naw, there be some trolls out there.
Fields of Dreams
I am here to take the heat. I admit I was wrong. I am glad I was wrong. Coach day and his staff did a fantastic job closing out the class!
Is Vimhali the first player from the state of Hawaii that Ohio State has?
Several of these guys are going to see the field early. Hurry up and get here Spring!
What a rebound by Day. Lose a longtime commit and grab two to take his place.
Harry Miller's biceps scare me. I can't imagine what it was like to play red rover against that guy.
Laugh at me but I think he's the jewel of the class
Cormontae May be my favorite, anyone willing to do what he did to make it happen will be a good one.
Love this class from top to bottom. Its hard to judge from highlight tapes but I do not see McKenzie as more of a project than 'most' others. I did not rewatch but I remember forwarding his tape. I thought he was very underrated. I'm also excited about Bryson Shaw. Love them all.
This seems like a historically small class. How did that even happen? I get there are scholarship limits and all, but why does that limit hit so hard this year? What will the number be next year roughly?
We had a handful that came back that could have left and Day didn't push out 3-4 kids like Urban usually did
Day didn't push out 3-4 kids like Urban usually did.
This is a fact, only way you can sign 25 a year (like Meyer, Saban) you have to dump 7 or 8 a year and hope 7 or 8 leave to NFL. It was touch and go a couple times for Urb.
Pretty simple, we didn’t “oversign” this year.
Alternatively said, the expected grad/transfer/draft declaration rate wasn’t as high.
Here are my top 5 for impact and awards from the 2019 class:
1. Case Stover
2. Marcus Crowley
3. Harry Miller
4. Zach Harrison
5. Garrett Wilson
Wild Card: Craig Young
Zach Harrison might be the most gifted of the bunch, but I think he’ll take a while to cook. His skill set is very raw for someone that will make an impact in LJ’s line.
Harrison is bigger (check the photo at top of page) faster 4.5 in the forty, Stover maybe 4.65 in forty, Harrison plays opening day, Stover not so much. Josh Myers rode the pine for 2 yrs under Meyer doubt Crowley see's the field, red shirt.
Okay - perhaps I'm spoiled by Urban scoring top 5 or better classes - but I have to admit, not all that excited about 2019 class. Somebody help me understand why I'm wrong here with the MEH feeling!
The best thing about Pastafarianism? It is not only acceptable, but advisable, to be heavily sauced
We still have a top 5 class talent wise we just don't have the numbers we usually do. There's a few ways to look at it. We had 4-5 kids coming back that could have declared so at least we have some experience in places we would have played kids who might not have been ready. I like to think that those guys are talented and will really get turned around with a better defensive staff. Maybe I'm just being optimistic but as uneven as we played last year we still only lost one game
... add in Fields ... and this has been a great year for recruiting.
3rd, albeit a distant 3rd, in terms of average rating per recruit. Like Buck said, it was just a small class.
The lack of a top 5 class falls largely on Urban, and all the stuff around him this summer and fall. No way would we have had a top 5 or top 10 with Urban and all the uncertainty. Probably would not have ranked this high. Definitely no Harrison, maybe no Fields, and maybe ithers go elsewhere.
CY is still having trouble "making the grade"! That's why he did not enroll early. That said, he will play on Sundays!
Stout class, and I can see each commit developing into the lineup before it's all said and done.
I'm not around that much, running exhausted and lost...
Real quality individuals. Very articulate and intelligent.
"I think Alabama would beat Ohio State if they played next weekend!" Clay Travis Fox Sports Post Championship Show 1.12.2015. Needs no explanation.
This is a historic class, Day's first haul as a HC. Hope these kids all have an amazing future at Ohio State.
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
I absolutely love this class with the addition of Justin Fields. I was saying on here years ago how I wanted us to offer Justin when he was committed to pedo state and then georgia, and hearing all the ass clown's on here saying he's from the south and won't come to Ohio State. Typical from the majority of the members on here....
Top of the food chain
Ya know if you don't like it here, its not mandatory to participate. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It doesn't matter whether you're the lion or a gazelle-when the sun comes up, you'd better be running.
Jameson Williams has that long stride when running similar to Ted Ginn.......Going to be fun watching this kid play.
Saban on a cart eating cold pizza
Good lord Zach has a 4 person wingspan.
