Well we call New Orleans the new Orleans buckeyes. eleven warriors does across the shield. We celebrate former payers for great performances in the pros. It's a pride thing seeing your favorite teams former Players succeeding at the highest level of the sport
Successful people do what they have to, whether they feel like it or not
Tom Brady is really a special circumstance tho. He had a mediocre college career at best and their fans tried running him out of town for 2 straight seasons in favor of Drew Henson. I mean they despised the dude and blamed him for ruining their 98’ and 99’ seasons.
Brady was also one of the few scUM QBs to lose to a John Cooper-led Buckeyes team. That should tell you all you need to know about his college career.
Perhaps being at Michigan was holding him back?
OSU Class of 1999
I mean, they cling to all the wins against the nobodies in their history to help bolster their program... Any shock they'd nut jockey Brady and his success? It isn't like they have a football program to enjoy right now, so no surprised.
I can make a very strong argument those New Orleans players from the Buckeyes were much more successful at Ohio State than Brady was at ttun. I personally don’t care to be honest. brady is awesome, no one can say he isn’t, but it does amaze me his success came AFTER ttun.
Tom Brady and Bill Belicheck will go down as the greatest duo of all time.
You may hate the patriots, but it is time to enjoy what they have done as I don't think it will ever be seen again
How many dog shit players from Ohio State went on to have 10 fold the success that they had in college? We absolutely celebrate Ohio State talent that carries that success on to the pros. But Michigan, in the examples I’ve given, are pointing out these achievements in alumni that were pretty unremarkable in college and didn’t turn a head until after they got away from there.
Two words: Mike Thomas. 3rd team All Big Ten WR. Best first three seasons in NFL.

That was underutiluzation, not a dogshit college career.
One could argue that Brady was underutilized at Michigan.
Also, national champion. The teams that he played he started ball on were possibly the two most talented Ohio state teams ever. Teams that lost two games total. He may have been underused, but he wasn’t underused to the detriment of the team he was on.
Michigan hasn't won an outright title since the color television was invented. True story.
The analogy I liken it to is Ford coming out with commercials for the Model T in 2019 talking about "It was voted the greatest car of the year in 1909!"
Jeep has had some commercials like that ...
Because the fantasy is greater than the reality.
It’s been a long time since they put a trophy in the case. They’ll latch on to anything they can.
Because this is all they have.
Im betting its more of a sexual nature than a football one.
They have nothing to else to cheer about? Brady also falls in the last century success as well, so it's pure *ichigan all over again.
Enjoying daily the 62-39 ttun beatdown.
The big difference with the Saints players is that most of them were stars in college and won a NC or played in NC games.
Tom Brady didn't do that and was not loved by that fan base, They loved Drew Henson.
Brady did a good job in college but his greatness happened in the NFL like a lot of the Pat players due to their exceptional ability to recognize talent and players who can fit into their system.
Well, you have to remember that the vast majority of xich fans are in danger of depression each Thanksgiving thanks to our Buckeyes. So the news about Brady, even though, as noted in posts above, he was not that big of a deal there, it gives them hope until warm weather. Then of course, they will over rated again, talk smack, then lose to ND and Penn State and our Buckeyes again. And all to our delight.
Those who stay won't be champions.
Don’t give a damn.

Step One: Leave Michigan
Michigan would like you to never forget that it developed the greatest QB who ever lived into a 6th round pick https://t.co/9cLFbgHjXc

Success at developing QB's???? I haven't seen any of that with hairball the QB guru the last 4 years- only transfers coming in to fill a spot, and it really hasn't won them anything. 0-4 and I think they should continue with that model.
It took me 2 minutes to think of a name of a single of their quarterbacks, Wilton Spigot or something like that? Can't name another one.
Why do people visit other schools FAN websites and question why they don't think like tOSU fans on all football related issues?
I visit for the Schadenfreud - king of like watching them watching them mow their lawn with a 20" push mower on a 90 degree day while I'm breezing by on a 50" Toro Timecutter zero radius riding mower with a beer in the cup holder.
Visiting scUM sites is like taking your vacation in Raqqa or Mogadishu, imo.
To be fair if we had a 5-time Super Bowl winning player we'd sure as hell brag about him being a Buckeye. How many rings has Nate Ebner won now and how many articles have appeared on him on 11W? And he is a special teams player.

Coach Tressel would like a word with you
He is all they have.
Because when you lose to your rival year after-you cling onto anything you can
Focusing on Penn State !!
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.

And I’ve never even seen him rep them that much. Sure he’ll do something here and there but not like our former Buckeye’s rep OSU.
They're not called the New Orleans Buckeyes for nothing ...............
I heard they want to ceremoniously add him as a member of the Brady Bunch. And here I thought he couldn't sing ...
Same reason why we say 3 Buckeyes are playing in this years SuperBowl
Jake McQuaide for the Los Angeles Rams and Nate Ebner and John Simon for the New England Patriots.
"Why does Michigan feel so cocky?".....
Because their hands are always in their pockets?....
If you want a laugh, ask a Michigan fan why Bo, who never won a single national championship and went 5-12 in bowl games, should be considered one of the greatest coaches in history. The faux nostalgia that exists in Ann Arbor is so dense you could cut it with a chainsaw. You have an entire generation of current fans longing for and clinging to bygone days of glory that never actually existed.
Maybe another discussion in and of itself, but my uncle used to say surviving the 10 Year War was Bo's greatest accomplishment.
Because he 'dominated' Ohio State to the tune of 11-9-1? Sort of like Tressel or Meyer in the other direction... only not.
I know a few scUM fans that can’t stand Brady, not sure if it’s more of the sick of Patriots, Belichick and just throw Brady in there too.
Since Tom Brady became the starting QB at New England, New England has won 5 Super Bowls and Michigan has won 4 Bowls.

This is a wild stat
@RedditCFB doing God's work.
New Day for OSU. Same noon for TTUN.
Fact is, Brady had to receive proper coaching to achieve anything past mediocrity. It should be an embarrassment for them that they didn't recognize or develop such a talent.
Another missed *ichigan opportunity in player development...….when will they learn.
He went to Michigan so they celebrate them. Nothing wrong with that. He was very much a meh college QB though. Michigan has had a fair number of those it seems. Plus, they have to celebrate something, right? On the field has not been that positive for them lately.
Valid point- "MEH" has been their motto. This year was really enjoyable. They were favored in our house. They had the #1 Defense-supposedly. We had a lot of diversity throughout the year with Meyer and then Bosa leaving for rehab early and a new QB starting for the 1st time. We then completely destroy them in the shoe and all of a sudden it's a "Mirage".
Yep it was a "Mirage' all right---- that butt kicking will live long in the annals of my brain. That is fact and that 62-39 shellacking was backed up in the field in the shoe on that lovely day..
Brady is all we have. Well, we had Charles Woodson, and Desmond Howard, and a few good players here and there. However, Michigan football has largely sucked for a long, long time. And honestly, I don't know when it will change, and what it will take for it to change. OSU fans have a great team and great recruiting and great coaches. Michigan appears to be able to compete and beat non-conference cupcakes and Big-10 body bags. The Wolverines can sometimes beat PSU and MSU and the like. But I haven't seen evidence that Michigan belongs on the same field as OSU, or any true top 5 teams, and that sucks. This is why we are happy about Basketball, and John Beilein, and Tom Brady, etc. It is all we have.
Our fan site is even way better than yours.
I honestly respect the hell out of the fact you put that out in the open. I know you are typically more reasonable than other fans, but genuinely taking a shot on the chin like that willingly, respectable. Now stop, I am busy hating your program. (Funny enough I didn't really care until I had a customer who just genuinely made me hate you guys this year because he embodied the mental image in my head. I enjoyed knowing how much he suffered this year from The Game.)
Blu fan--I always like to read your posts because they are always on the mark and well thought of. Even though we are on different sides of The Game, you are always welcome on Eleven Warriors!
