Would be an interesting move after everything he's said publicly.
makes you think that some frank conversations might have occurred in the last couple of days. which, you have to respect day for if so. real easy to let things just play out, but if he's 100% on fields as the starter, this is best for tate.
the kids are playing their tail off, and the coaches are screwing it up! - JLS
Handing either of them, or Baldwin for that matter, the starting role is a terrible move. The 3 of them should have competed for the spot, and I seriously hope thats what Day's plan is.
i agree, but i doubt fields comes here without anything short of a guarantee given all the programs that need a qb.
At some point and to some degree you have to look out for the players as human beings. Yeah its good for the team to treat all three as tools where we're going to see which one is best and throw the others in the shed. Tate put his time in, put his emotion in, if he's going to get bumped for the next shiny object he deserves at least a heads up that it's unlikely he'll be playing and it would be best for him and his career to explore elsewhere.
How does anyone know he's going to get bumped for the next shiny object until the competition is over? Tate could have competed and won the job, hard work often pays off. Making people earn their spots isn't treating them like tools, its developing them as players and, more importantly, men.
That's exactly what Tate got. The Fields to OSU thing happened fast. It went from nowhere to a possibility to happening in a few weeks.
I don't blame the players for transferring and I don't blame the schools for taking transfers. Ultimately it best for college football if both Haskins and Burrow are starting QBs if both Fromm and Fields (and perhaps Martell) are starting QBs.
Maybe, but that would be speculative. I doubt a coach would promise things outright. Maybe I am wrong about that. He could just see the writing on the wall too.
Just roster management. /s
Sure looks that way...
Osu is going to be fine even if he leaves before Fields is granted eligibility. I have full faith that Baldwin can play at a high level if needed.
Stay golden, Ponyboy.
And if Baldwin goes down do you have the same confidence in Chug? OSU's QB room is dangerously thin.
Then he becomes a game manager and you work the offense through your 2lk yard RB.
It doesn't matter whether you're the lion or a gazelle-when the sun comes up, you'd better be running.
Let's not sugar coat this, if Baldwin goes down and Fields isn't allowed to play its armageddon.
Jim Pacenta would like to have a word...
If...it may not happen. Haskins was not injured during the season. It is usually not ideal to lose the starting QB. They for sure have work to do, but if Fields is allowed in (and learns the offense quickly) than things are fine.
Move Brendan White (he played QB in HS) under center and run a full on triple option
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
Why is everyone always bashing on my boy Chug?
If you die before you die, then you won't die when you die.
I'm a WVU alum, so I watch their games, and I seen a glimpse of Chug when Grier broke his hand two years ago and I can easily say if he's the main guy, it's not going to be good.
Chug did start 5 games for WVU in 2017 and did ok vs. good competition. He's not on the same level as Haskins, Fields obviously but if we needed him in a pinch he could run the offense.
"You're the patron saint of the totally effed" - Hot Tub Time Machine
Not sure I do, I've seen him throw a few times in practice and don't think he's close to good enough. But we will see, still got an entire off season to improve.
How you gonna talk all that smack and then do this..
My EXACT thought on this. The "Tate is the ultimate competitor" montra has left my brain.
Also had a good laugh at that
That was my first thought!
Tathan? Transfer Portal?
It would seem like it would be easy to authenticate this pretty quickly.
Whoa if true.
And here everyone thought this was going to be a slow news day, lol.
Who has access to the transfer portal? Do you need credentials?
I have to imagine it's only authorized personnel--there's probably a lot of FERPA protected info on there
I've seen some protected FUPA's.....I'm ashamed to admit.
The portal website says only NCAA administrators have access, so who knows.
This is definitely where I parked my car.
Man, some guys really take it personally when teammates like their sisters' pics.
I’m willing to bet some of his other teammates liked them as well. Probably liked them a whole lot.
Just posting and hoping my comment isn’t deleted.
His twitter account has a little bit of Miami flavor to it recently. Supposedly they want Hurts first though, if Hurts doesnt follow Lock to Maryland
Being a QB for Maryland would really Hurts.
High and tight boo boo
he definitely has some people pulling for him to the U
Playing for the U would Hurts even more.
My guess is people inside of the woody feel good that Fields is going to be eligible...and that might be signaled to Martell
I said a while back that Day wouldn't put up with the shit that Martell was slinging.
Would not surprise me in the least. I really like Tate, I do. But it sure seems like he and Fields in the same room isn't going to work.
Just better hope that Fields gets his waiver...
I heard Day told him there isn't room and he should move on. - "Sources"

Come on in the waters fine.
Seems like it’s full of piss right now. You are doing a fine job getting some people worked up.
Pick your battles. People just don't like to be told the truth that they arent and never have been a part of the program.
It was KD. So obvious...
Bearcats could use Tathan.
Our redshirt freshman QB just threw for almost 2500 yards and ran for another 500... we will be fine.
Nope but I paid them a lot of money in exchange for my fancy degrees.

"WE WE WE WE WE - All the way home." - The 5th Piggie
Yep. 100% the worst type of fan is the guy who thinks I'm not allowed to say "we"
OSU is what it is because of the fanbase and the alumni base. Without the brand, they can't pay for top tier coaches to reel in top tier recruits. I attended the school for 4 years. I have just as much right to say "we" as anybody who played for the team.
No you don't.
Good rebuttal though
You're telling me you have as much right to refer to a team you don't play for as the players on the team?
Now I honestly don't care about saying we and us, I just like being a smart ass about it, but there is a definite differentiation between joe fan, QB1, and the earned level of involvement in the program.
Obviously there's a differentiation, no shit. "Just as much of a right" was an exaggeration. But I, and everyone else, have earned (aka paid for with tuition money and buying team gear lol) the right to refer to my university's football program as "we" considering that football program wouldn't be what it is without people like us. OSU is bigger than any athlete or coach, it is a brand. The brand is worthless without alumni, fans, and donors. While the players obviously directly correlate to the results on the field, the fanbase provides the money that the football team uses for salaries and facilities via ticket sales, merchandise, concessions, TV etc. OSU football is valued at a billion dollars because of the fanbase, not the players.
OSU football is valued at a billion dollars because of the fanbase, not the players.
Yeah but no players, you have nothing to cheer for. If the players suck you're basically Rutgers.
I don't discredit your points, but saying you're the reason the program is successful, is bit of a reach.
I didn't say I'm the reason the program is successful. I said it's the fanbase that drives up the value of the brand. You need good players AND a good fanbase to be what OSU is, which is where my original "just as much" comment came from.
Got ya. I get your point if view, while I don't personally see it that way. I can respect it.
Damnit, now you're not being a smart ass and I have to go un-downvote your original "you play?" post
I can only troll for so long before I want to start talking again. I find peoples reasoning much more interesting than being a complete douche.
Not gonna lie, I 100% laughed at the "WE WE WE WE WE -5th piggie" comment
I’ll say it when referencing UC because our athletic budget pulls money from university’s general funds, which my tuition dollars went into. I may not have put in work on ther field, but I put in work on making payments to UC.
I try not so use those word when referencing OSU though. I never attended OSU. I only partied there and occasionally attend football games. I was a buckeye fan pre third grade when my family moved from Columbus to Cincinnati. I attend UC because it was cheaper to commute than it was to pay rent while attending OSU. Just my take.
This is a fair take for sure. From my point of view if you attend games, buy gear, watch games on TV, etc. you've contributed to the fund that pays for OSU football though.
Such a useless argument that was in a Tate transfer thread.
well, fields' eligibility process just got a whole lot more interesting
Big if true.
My old coach used to say, if you cant stand the heat....wait five minutes, we're in Ohio.
Could you imagine the type of shit we are in if he transfers and Fields is not granted immediate eligibility?
Worth the risk. Would do it 100/100 times.
Yep. I want Chips, not the J.T. experience 2.0!
Certainly wouldn't be ideal, but the staff seems to like Baldwin a lot. They'd probably like him a lot more after another year of learning though
Day, the rest of the Ohio State crew, and the lawyer Fields hired are pretty confident a positive decision will be made within 6 weeks. That being said, I share your consternation.
#baldwinbus not worried.
No shit at all because Baldwin is better than Tate.
I agree...only issue is that Chuganov is then our backup and we have no 3rd string besides probably some walk-on.
Though it is not clear, my comment was targeted at the depth issue, not the talent.
It would not be a good situation, but even if he goes, they would probably need at least one more QB in the room to feel ok about it. I would be more surprised than not if he was not allowed to play though.
Go get hurts then too...
You're too stupid to have a good time. -Dalton
Interesting that he would decide to enter the portal before Fields gets a waiver.
And before any competition could take place. He was so confident he was going to win that competition.
Interesting. I'd be willing to bet that if this is true, we will find out Fields is eligible real soon. Otherwise there is no rush for Tate to get outta here.
If true, this says a lot about Tate’s character.. Fields has probably yet to even catch a glimpse of the Woody, and Tate is already packing his bags? Even thinking about leaving at this point says a lot.
It’s a far cry from the Burrow/Haskins characters we saw last year at this time, and through Spring ball. The fact that Tate is already willing to talk to other schools without even attempting to compete speaks volumes.
Would you want that guy leading the offense onto the field while down 14 in a big game?
Without knowing the convo Day and Tate had I want to reserve judgement, but I agree with you.
If Fields was sitting courtside with Urban and Dwayne, there's a good chance he's gotten a private tour of the facilities already.
I was not aware of that, otherwise I would not have added that tid bit. Thank you, though, for your quality assessment of my post.
Tate says, "100% I will be the starter", enters transfer pool a couple of weeks later.
Actions speak infinitely louder than words. The kid is not confident. He is a loose cannon with loose lips, and he was gonna sink our chances for the championSHIP!
It would stink if true. From his tweets and such it sounded like he was going to compete for the starting job and seemed pretty sure that he was going to win it.
I wonder if he was just saying all that to try and scare Fields away?
I have to agree AK
I spend the majority of my school day on 11W
Seeing the red carpet treatment that Fields is getting I can't blame the guy.
Can confirm that Tate Martell is now in the NCAA transfer portal. Hell begin to explore options outside of Ohio State believe Miami and West Virginia are two schools that are worth watching.
— Jeremy Birmingham (@Birm) January 10, 2019
Thanks, just added that to the top.
Survival of the fittest. Don't want to bash Tate, but leaders don't throw teammates under the bus.
I am guessing Day had a man to man talk with Tate and spelled some things out.
Tate should head back west. Play the Pac 12
Transfer to USC so he can be Urban’s QB when he takes over in 2020
I know you’re being sarcastic, but I’ll go on the record and state that I’ll kiss Mark Schlabach’s bare ass on television if that happens with Urban.
Not sure I'd want to see that on TV...haha. How about Tate's sister's Instagram???
You Got Barbecue Back There!?!?!?!
I'd say he'd be a good fit for Kelly, but they already have the kid who backed him up in high school playing for them (Dorian Thompson-Robinson).
or Big 12... basically somewhere with less defense.
Since Day got the HC position I wondered if Tate would ever QB at tOSU. He isn't the Day-prototype QB in my opinion. Not that Day doesn't want a QB who is mobile, but I think he wants a slinger back there. Not sure if Tate is that guy.
If you transfer before competition then I guess one isn’t up for the competition.
I hope it isn’t true. I want the best QB to win the job.
Stanley Jackson was on 105.7 the other day and was talking about Tate and Baldwin. He didn’t talk much about Tate but spoke highly of Baldwin. Repeatedly said Baldwin can “spin it”.
It’s weird he spent the last few weeks jawing about how he’ll be the starter and win the job, and then puts himself in the transfer portal before spring ball even started.
I sure hope he can spin it, cause I was about 7 when I learned how to
I guess you could say that Tathan is a short-timer at Ohio State now.
Interesting. If he does leave, good luck to him.
Martell has worn out his welcome with Ohio state. The tweeting was the last straw.
Roll with Fields, Baldwin and Chug. Add another qb late.
Don’t think for a second the coaches would let Martel go if they didn’t feel good about fields being eligible but I get the sense that Tate Martell is a locker room cancer
I suppose you could say Later Tater.
NCAA waiver likely going to be granted b/c a cheerleader called him "short stuff"
that is on top of having to go through life named Tathan....
...and waxed brows
I probably missed this. Was there more on twitter after the “swing and miss” tweet?
Yes. There’s another thread about it or it was talked about in the “most recent Fields/Martell twitter fight” thread. Apparently, on Monday night, Tate was tweeting about how Elite Trevor Lawerence looked and some other things that were directed at Fields because they competed at the Elite 11 camp, etc.
I don't think Tate is a locker room cancer but he has every right to look out for himself if he's seeing the writing in the wall.
"Writing on the wall." I think that's exactly what Tate saw a few days after he sent those tweets about Fields. He saw Fields sitting courtside with Urban and Haskins (I bet Tate wasn't invited), noticed Fields playing style fits Day's system a lot better, and started reading a few assessments of Fields' throwing abilities (no one probably never wrote anything like that about Tate's throwing!).
The writing was on the damn wall, and it didn't take an English major to read it.
Fields won QB1 before he stepped foot on campus.
If I remember the last person at OSU who was more famous for his tweets rather than the performance his unit put on the field left as well!
FantasyNoob broke it before Brim and 11W.
Let me be the first to welcome 11W's newest recruiting analyst, @FantasyNoob!
Welcome to the new age of Buckeye football. All the read option haters rejoice!
Also, all the Tate apologists - what say ye? All the bravado, "that's my QB", "he's just like Baker" talk, and he is going to transfer before even lacing them up to compete? Yikes.
I want a fall Saturday in Ohio Stadium..
I've been a Tate guy since he committed, but the persistent tweeting and shit talking has really left a sour taste in my mouth about him. And now the fact he's entered the portal without even competing for the job says a lot about him
Dude, OK listen... let me explain what happened, you see what had happened was... ah fuck it.

Can't really blame him. He's right -- he's put two years into the program giving his all....two years of practice, training, learning, investing....but when you bring a guy like Fields in, its obvious its NOT to sit the bench. I wish this young man nothing but the best and I hope he crushes it wherever he goes.
Not buying it. He comes across as scared of the competition and/or pissed off that he is not being handed the starting job. When you commit to a program like Ohio State you expect to compete for your position on the field every single year. It shouldn't matter to him if we sign a 5* recruit or bring in a high profile transfer. If he was that confident he would get the job, wouldn't he go ahead and compete through camp? His comment about 100% being the starter next year after the Rose Bowl reeked of entitlement, and was blatantly disrespectful to Baldwin. Did he think he was that much better than Baldwin? It sounded like he didn't feel the need to put the work in to get the job. I mean, I don't want to shit on a guy for making a decision for him, but to talk all of that mess before Fields came in to the program and then dip once the transfer papers went through looks really soft. Cue that Dantonio video, something about pride and the fall.
Can't really blame him. He's right -- he's put two years into the program giving his all....two years of practice, training, learning, investing....but when you bring a guy like Fields in
You honestly believe a school to stop recruiting or otherwise trying to acquire talent at a given position just because someone has been there and "put their time in"?
I wasn't exactly fond of watching Lil' tater tot take snaps anyways. Hope he finds something that's a better fit for him personally if that's what he wants.
I guess it just opens options for him. It is surprising given all of his comments and confidence. It is also a little surprising given all the posters talking about the super competitor he is though. It could end up in a bad situation for OSU if Fields is not allowed to play his first year or early though, but why stress about negatives?
Wonder what his argument for a hardship waiver will be? Fields liked too many of my sister's photos?
The Ohio weather was rough on his hair?
JK - I am actually a big Martell fan and am sad to see him go.
Honestly this is the best thing that could happen for Ohio State. Martel was going to be a malcontent in the locker room and Ryan day does not have to put up with that shit. How much would rather have Baldwin backing up or even starting then Martel
Anyone else less worried about the possibility of a transfer than you are about the amount of tabs this dude has open on his computer in the picture?
Ha good call. Hopefully none or for porn sites
I currently have 15 tabs open in Chrome as I type this....what of it?
Ron Burgundy can pull something like that off...not a normal schmuck like the rest of us.
It does make Tate look rather weak by doing this after talking all that smack then and again who knows what's being said behind closed doors.
I am sorry to hear this. I was really looking forward to the competition. After all of the talk about how he would start, I wonder if he got a talking to...
Welp, his ego is certainly bigger than his height, but all the best of luck to him at wherever he lands. He might want to explore places like UCLA which is closer to home and Chip may want him if he's willing to sit a year.
"I don't apologize for anything. When I make a mistake, I take the blame and go on from there." - Woody Hayes
Wish this all would have shaken out prior to first signing day so we could have brought in a freshman...but I never thought Tate was going to play at OSU anyhow and cringed every time they pulled Haskins for him last year (except blowouts etc.). Start the Fields hype train.
Well if QB1 goes down in case we don't get Fields immediate playing approval... Rashad Berry could have his chance to show Martell he wasn't kidding lol
I don't know if it was said but just because your name is in the portal, doesn't mean you're transferring or have to transfer out. He's just opening contact with other schools and checking all his options, nothing wrong with that.
That's like me telling my wife, I know there will be alcohol there tonight, but I might not drink. She knows me not drinking is always an option, but in the end she will be driving home.
While this is true....it would awful awkward after talking so much about not transfer and winning the job followed by going into the portal to look around.
Pretty much. He could just be testing the waters for next season, as I’ve heard he can graduate early. It may be a conversation with whatever school to give them a heads up, so who they’re recruiting, what they have in mind, etc. Unless he’s being forced out, I think it would be really tough (and dumb) for him to leave before he’s even sure if Fields will get a waiver. He’d still have two seasons playing somewhere else after this season.
I'm not too often stunned by news. But this caught me off guard. Right now would be a good time to be a fly on the wall inside the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.
Lifetime Buckeye fan and 2nd generation OSU graduate (2011). OH!
Tell this dude to close a couple tabs
I was trying to see if he had any inappropriate ones
That escalated quickly!
Can't say I'm surprised but I was thinking it wouldn't happen until spring/summer. Really hoping Fields gets the waiver!
"The Edge is where average stops and elite begins"
To talk all that shit trying to scare Fields away from tOSU' to running away before eligibility and before any type of competition? What in the actual FUCK?
This new generation is superbly sceptical. Keep these non-alpha's away from the battlefield please.
It's spelled "skeptical", and I don't think you know what the word means based on how you just used it.
I wonder if Urban retiring would make him eligible for a waiver? If not, he will have to sit out a year.
Transferring out of OSU seems to guarantee you a waiver.
No. That rule applies to newly signed LOI recruits. Not current team members.
After another poster had mentioned the QB1 show on Netflix, I ended up watching it. Honestly, it soured me on Martell in a big way so I'm not really disappointed in this.
You have to really take into account that on that show we are seeing the version of them that they want us to see. It has a vibe like the camera isnt there or acknowledged but they are well aware it is there and making every decision and word accordingly. Hard to get a really solid judgement based off of that series. Fields or Tate may act totally different in real life.
Huh? By your own logic he's well aware of the camera and decides to act like a spoiled douche consciously? Is that really supposed to make it better? To me that makes it worse?
Yea Im just saying to try to put that filter on it. This is the version they want you to see. The version you aren't seeing is usually 10 times worse. Yea I wasnt in any way trying to stick up for the kid.
ok my bad for the friendly fire, I got confused
I dunno how close he is to graduation, why not at least try to graduate in Spring/Summer and get a spring camp in, a la Burrow, instead dealing w/ the likelihood of sitting a year anyway and transfer now.
With former Bishop Gorman h.s. teammate Bubba Bolden now ending up at Miami (FL) ... you heard it here first... Tate Martell will transfer to Miami (FL).
Birm mentioned Miami in his tweet.
Birm mentioned Miami (FL) and West Virginia. I'm here telling you it's Miami (FL) .
Well I guess it's now safe for all of us to follow Tate's sister on IG.
Fields of Dreams
Because you were already following her?
Naw. I don't have IG. Or Twitter. Or Facebook. 11W is my social media.
But if you are following her pls feel free to post some pics here.
Myspace? Still log into AOL?
I don't know how to post pics from my flip phone.
I hope to see her on my AltaVista home page.
Tate has always seemed like a punk to me. Attitude has always mattered more than talent, and Tate's attitude sucks. Period. It always has and I have never cared for him.
Agree. never thought he was going to be the guy people made him out to be.
My sense is that our offensive gameplan has changed since we recruited Tate. It might be that Day and Wilson believe that Fields (and Baldwin) are better suited for the offense that Martell. Tate saw the handwriting on the wall and knew he needed to find a school that allowed him to utilize his strengths. The irony is that if Tate was older and in place when Braxton Miller first got hurt, I believe he would have beaten out JT as he is probably a better fit for Urban's old offense than Barrett. I wish him nothing but success as he gave his all for this program.
My man got to see fields in person and decided he'd better shut his mouth and find a new school. He strikes me as a guy who will burn some bridges on the way out the door. Hopefully he doesn't implicate anyone of anything.
This kid seems to have the short man's syndrome...cocky yet self conscious all at the same time. I'm good with him leaving, starting twitter wars with your potential teammate is not the kind of leadership I want from our quarterback.
Tom Mars, who is Fields' attorney related to his waiver request and has represented many others in similar situations, won't do the same for Martell: He told me: "I'm not representing Tate Martell, and I have no intention of doing anything on his behalf."
— Bill Rabinowitz (@brdispatch) January 10, 2019
His next statement is: "I am, however, now following Tate's sister on Instagram"
Who do you think tipped off Justin Fields to her account?
I'm sure he only represents people that he feels highly likely to win the case for.
Could be off base here, but this gives me the feeling there is bad blood between Fields and Martell. Seems to me Fields isn't a fan of Tate's Twitter bravado.
Ole Tater better not swing and miss...especially the second time
Boom! Underrated comment BigWill. +1 LOL
Upvote times a million.
Tate might have to transfer to the BURN unit now.
Weak. After all the passive aggressive comments and outright smack he’s talked, he is going to transfer ahead of the competition? I have no respect for Martell now.
He's a West Coast guy (Nevada), I could see him with Chip Kelly at UCLA
Those who stir the shit pot should have to lick the spoon.
You would think Martell would at least compete through Spring. Fields could get hurt, Fields could not be as great as everyone is claiming (Shea Patterson was a 5* QB too), etc. As I mentioned in another post, it's a weird time to be an elite D1 QB.
Prime example of running your mouth and not wanting to back it up. I dont know why he thought the job was his after Haskins. Its great to hear , or I mean not hear , a thing from Baldwin . Hes more of a leader from his response to the whole Fields matter than Tate ever could be.
I think Tate could be a lot better than many think and I sure would like it if he stayed around and fought for the job. It's never a good thing to quit and doing so can become a habitual thing.
I think maybe he is a product of the recruiting system. He was a 4/5 star talent, didn't lose a game as a high school starter, had everyone chasing him and telling him he was the greatest and begging for him to come to their school. Fast forward about 2.5 years and all he's done is ride the bench and now the school he's given the last 2 years of his life brings in someone new..It's probably a situation he's never been in before and he doesn't know how to deal with it.
Doesn't make him a bad guy.
I really would like to see some Baker Mayfield in him and see him with a chip on his shoulder compete and win the job. Hopefully it's not too late
When does Fields find out about the waiver? Would be nice to get in on Hurts or Tyree Jackson as a grad transfer if Fields isn't cleared.
Meh on Hurts but I guess it wouldn't hurt to try. Jackson decided to enter the draft instead of transfer.
Just read he graduates in May so he could go the Joe Burrow route and see what happens in the spring.
Shade like this is what we call "wearing transition lenses."
To be honest Im fine with either decision by Tate Martell. If he stays that means hes ready to compete. If he goes that means he didnt want to. Its all about where HIS head is. So either is good for Ohio State.
— Mekka Don (@MekkaDonMusic) January 10, 2019
How hot is it? Tate decides.
New Day for OSU. Same noon for TTUN.
This is good news. When Fields turns out to be a bust, or he has to sit a year it will open the door for Baldwin and he will be everything we need at that position and more, just watch.
Not even going to give it a spring football to see where he stands??? That's just sorry....
It looks like hes removed all tweets since early December.
I like him, but it’s obvious with the attempted summer transfer that he thought he should have played over Haskins. Lol to that.
Or maybe he thought Dwayne was going to be here longer than this past season
Can't say I was on the Tater wagon (especially after his poodle yapping on Twitter), but let's cut the guy a little slack and not be so quick to question his manhood. Keep in mind Meyer recruited him 3-4 years ago to run his power spread, read-option offense. (In Martell's Twitter rant where he proclaimed himself the 2019 starter, he made a comment implying the offense would return to the read-option primarily - which presumably he felt he was best-suited to run.) Two years ago, Meyer brought in Ryan Day to revolutionize the offense which begot Haskins record setting passing season. As such, it's very possible Day clarified to Martell the offense would look more like the Haskins version and less so the Barrett version going forward, and he did not see Tate in the QB picture beyond a back-up role. Admittedly, I'm speculating as much as everyone here, but let's not be so quick to challenge his character based on speculation.
