Coaching clinic? Isn’t the ohsfca in April? Or is this one strictly a college coaching clinic?
At first I had zero idea what you were talking about. I thought you were commenting on the wrong article or something lol. No, the convention this week is when coaches from around the country get together and rub elbows. Basically it helps them from relationships for future coaching opportunities.
"We gotta go win this next game and make the State of Ohio proud!"-UFM
Ah gotcha. Thank you.
He’s a HUGE (literally) piece of the puzzle.
The saddest part of this article is the fact that it looks like Studrawa will be sticking around.
I guess I’m curious what insiders are thinking about this one?
Read my entire screen name....
Solid piece would really help solidify our 2019 class.
Go get'em Cal Poppy - we are behind you !!
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.
I was always under impression that he wanted assurances that Stud was going to be the line coach. With that said, Day is sticking with Stud so there should be no "reason" to look around like it was mentioned. Day know what he need to do go get him in or get a good replacement.
I suppose it's all about what he wants to achieve in his college term - Penn State and WV are not going to be contending for either a playoff spot, or a conference championship any time soon and Georgia, having lost to the Longhorns, isn't going to be in the mix for much (as they are seeing quite a few leave early for the NFL), so hopefully, the opportunity to grab a two-deep spot right away and also to contend (again) for a BIG championship, a pair of gold pants and a legitimate shot at the NC game, will be enough incentive for the young man to hold true to his original verbal on signing day .....
“and Georgia, having lost to the Longhorns, isn't going to be in the mix for much”
WHAAAAT are you talking about?
Georgia won’t be in the mix this year, if that’s what you mean. They will absolutely be a force again next year.
Not sure I agree with your predictions. PSU usually plays us tight and is arguably our biggest conference rival competitiveness-wise. While they are losing key pieces including McSorely, we’re losing a lot too including likely Haskin, 3-4 of our starting o-line and our 2 best d-linemen. And PSU has a strong incoming recruiting class with a 5-star mike backer and two good running backs among other positions.
And barring any major, unforeseen issues, Georgia will be a regular threat to make the playoff, with only Alabama standing in their way. They have one of the most talent-laden rosters now and will add to it with the 1-2 ranked class in 2018, and a ton of top-100 national prospects in their backyard every year.
PSU has James Franklin making in-game decisions, so score one for the good guys.
The pic from the AA game has to be a good sign. It was nice to see Paris Johnson Jr. in there as well since he said he was going to look around.
If Day gets Nester signed, his first class would be, if Fields is included, would be incredible.
I won't say a must-have, but pretty damn close to
Make preparations in advance. You never have trouble if you are prepared for it.
Coach Day’s next message to Nester should be: We’d really love to have you and we see great things for you at Ohio State, but if you don’t sign this week we are moving on to someone who wants to be a Buckeye.
Great in theory but not practical. He’s not able to sign anything until the signing period in February. He could verbally recommit but honestly that would mean nothing
Nester already stated he's not publicly changing anything about committment status, he's simply signing with the school of his choice on National Signing day
Playing hard ball with recruits isnt the best idea.
ANN - you’re on drugs!!! “Move on” to who??
Folks, the pitch always has and always will be: Nothing stops...
Georgia sucked ass against #15 Texas in the bowl game. Bloom is off that rose. Stay north, young man. Seriously. Fields gets it.
The Browns are no longer the worst franchise in all of professional sport.
Where is Georgia going?? They are the Beast of the East for a LONG time!
They have studs. They were young this year and their recruiting is insane.
Florida will overtake UGa over the next year or two and be the perennial favorite of the SEC East
Just keep pitching that it's a clear area of need and have our current OLs talk the program up.
People like to criticize coach Studrawa, but he coached the OL that protected Haskins in a record-setting year and helped destroy the #1 defense in the country at the time.
The point being that Nester will be developed to an elite level here.
"We get paid to score touchdowns, not kick field goals"
-- Urban Meyer
CowCat. On target.
Move on from this clown. Let him go to Pedophile U or West Huh. Darnel Wright is still uncommitted and rated a better prospect. Go get him and leave Nester to the also rans.
"Give your dream an aspiration date."
Yeah what the eff was that all about
I don't understand keeping Stud around when his OL this year had issues resetting the LOS a couple yards up field and when he's missed on SO MANY offensive line recruits in recent years.
“In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. We will understand only what we are taught.” ~ Baba Dioum
Call Day and ask. I’m sure he’s looking for advice
The O-line was not good this year. Studrawa needs to be upgraded, Nester or no Nester.
Yeah #2 offense sucks.
Really need to keep this kid (Nester) and looks like we’re going to add Dawand Jones. Jones is a monstrous 6-8 360. Not highly rated, but has offers from everyone across the country, so that says much more than his 247 composite score.
If I was a betting man I would bet on the possibility that young Mr. Nestor reads these Buckeye sites and has seen all the negativity posts about ou coach Stud needing to be fired yak yak yak. No wonder he has had doubts.
We are so all knowing NOT.
Mama always said if you can't say anything good about a person just shut up. Especially about our own!
13-1 and still bitchin' smh!
Well Hoosier. Welcome to the board. It’s like a kindercare
The same conversations and the same people post on every college board, if he follows Georgia's he will see much the same.
Remember the last time we went through a season with a first time head coach? This is going to be better- much better than that. Can't say I blame Nester for slow playing his signing. Doesn't seem like he was planning on early enrollment or he'd be here or somewhere by now, so he won't see anybody's first string until 2020 at the earliest. I expect him to be here this fall, but if not, we'll do without him and get an extra year out of one of the many great recruits already on the roster. Next year, after Ryan Day has shown the CFP what a fast and loose Buckeye team looks like; not afraid to win big and take the chances necessary to put the best 22 on the field at all times. It's gonna be an exciting year at Ohio State!
I was told PSU promised a walkon spot for one of his teammates , Malashevich , to help get him . Hopefully he"ll listen to his parents , who are big time OSU fans , and be in Columbus next season.
This is a must get and if he looks at the depth chart he is one play away from getting playing time.
It really just comes down to coach Day showing him there will be no expected drop off between Meyer and him... I can't blame Nester for just dotting the I's and crossing the t's.
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
All I'm saying about Nester is there is a higher rated OT still not committed, so why wait to see what Nester decides to do now. Go sign the higher rated player and if Nester decides he likes TOSU now, sign him too. Nester to me, reminds me of Kalis. And we all know what a star OL he was. If your going to turn and run at the first sign of controversy and not believe in the credibility of the institution and the coaching staff\HC to take the appropriate action\s if necessary, then maybe your commitment wasn't all that and maybe you don't belong here. We're talking about TOSU and The B1G. IMHO.
Slobber, you must be talking about Darnell Wright and by the looks OSU is down on his board. If we don't get Nester we could be in trouble number wise.
Jwm...Your right about Wright. And your right about being in trouble. I don't know how hard we ran at Wright because at one time we had Nester. That's why I thought we should make a big push for Wright. If we don't get one, I don't see a Petit-Frere out there.
get nester and wright... we can use them both and a couple more.... need line depth..
Thats a good looking group of kids...Go bucks!
