LOL now this is beyond funny I think Martel has to be P Diddy......where do people come up with stuff like this LOL
Cannot understate how huge this is.. Him and Trevor Lawrence have been called the two best QB prospects of the past 5 - 10 years.
Then what does that make Jake Fromm?? He must be the best QB prospect in 50 years?
Thank you Urban Meyer and Gene Smith
Looking at Fields' numbers in the time he played, leaves me scratching my head on why they chose Fromm over Fields. Basically, they chose their version of Hurts vs Tua. We saw what happened with Tua once he started.
Why would it make you scratch your head? They saw Fromm as the better player.
He looked awesome in their last game...oh wait nevermind.
And we saw JT as better than Haskins. Did that mean Haskins wasn't a complete stud when his time came? A lot of people keeping making this argument and it's a very poor one.
Nah. They saw him as the safer option. Was hurts better than tua last year?
Posted below. Herbie and some other folks have done some interviews that STRONGLY suggest there was never a choice. Fromm was going to be the guy because for a bunch of different reasons he had to be. Only thing that would get Fields on the field was an injury. It was never about better QB.. Fromm was ink'd in as QB1.. Fields either didn't read things right or Kirby Smart suggested the position was up for grabs ( which plenty of people have said would have been a flat out lie)..
Well, the fact that Jake Fromm uses “Jake From State Fromm” as his Twitter handle means that I will forever admire him.
Not sure that answers the question at hand but it’s at least relevant to me.
Jake Fromm State Farm would've worked a bit better
"Captain, over here, I've found someth... AHHHH!!!!!!"
Yes, because the guy starting (at any position) is ALWAYS the better player. Ohio State definitely has proven that.......
And as we know, internet guy is in a better position to make this call than a HOF head coach.
You are entitled to you own opinion, not your own facts.
I guess bill Davis was also the best LB coach urban could have hired too? Because hes completely infallible, right?
JT started 4 years, Haskins 1. Who is the better QB?
This could be framed so many ways. To me, it was NEVER the right question. The right question was, who was the better QB at a specific time for the offense Ohio State intended to run? Trying to compare 4 years to 1 is nonsensical because this was NEVER the debate (it was according to many on here, who should have started last year).
The starter who almost won it all for them as a freshman and also took them to the the brink of the CFP his sophomore year. Like Dwayne Haskins wasnt better than Barrett? Meyer just wouldn't pull the trigger. The difference here is that Tate hasn't done anything at OSU. Fields hasn't spoken one word. Came to OSU in spite of all the chirping from Tate. What he's saying sounds good, but if he was that confident that he'd be the starter he wouldn't feel the need to keep talking about it. May the beat man win, but my money is on the bigger, stronger, faster, quieter version of Tate
Or the one that won double digit games in a year OSU won the title (didn't finish because of an injury) and the one that took them to the playoffs one other year? It is amazing that HOF coach came out said he wasn't ready, the QB came out and said he wasn't ready, and Martell has said he wouldn't have been ready his first year, and yet, internet guy still thinks he absolutely knows that Haskins should have started last year. This debate is just like what we see in politics--people elevate their opinion to that of fact, then refuse to consider countervailing facts or new information as they doggedly defend their unsupported position. It amazes me how few understand the difference between fact and opinion (I first learned about this in third grade). You may believe Haskins was the better option last year, but that is all that is, your opinion, and its not a. educated one at that (an educated one would be someone who has built a career in football who was at practice every day, like, say, picking someone at random, Urban Meyer).
I don't buy any of that 'Haskins was better than JT' garbage.
Was Zeke better than El Guapo in 2013? Why didn't Zeke start? I mean... we're talking about Zeke Elliott here, right?
Pretty safe to say Zeke is currently better than Hyde... and that Haskins is currently better than JT.
But maybe not when they were competing for the job?
"The future is bright at Ohio State." - Urban Meyer 1/1/15
Haskins is undoubtedly a better passer than JT. This was not the question—the question was, who was the best QB to start in 2017? Urban Meyer says JT, and I roll with the guy that has 3 titles and a 90% winning percentage at OSU, not Back Up Quarterback guy that needs a scapegoat because he is bitter we didn’t win a title (btw, we didn’t win one with Haskins this year either, and he sucked in the game we lost when it mattered).
fear the nut common man. Do put that championship on Barrett that was cardale. Barrett showed us what would of happen if he played when he faced Clemson. Good defenses made Barrett look silly so many times. If Barrett played Wisconsin we wouldn't have blown them out nearly as bad and more than likely get left out the playoffs. The Wisconsin game got us in and that was cardale showing us how to properly us Devin Smith and opening the running game up. Defenses had to respect cardale. The clemson game Barrett should have been benched just out of desperation saban had the guts to do it for tua, Meyer didnt. I love Meyer but he can be blindly loyal.
If if was a fifth we'd all be drunk
It amazes me how few understand the difference between fact and opinion
There's also a difference between choice and necessity.
JT Barrett was a redshirt freshman when he got the starting job, but that was out of necessity because Braxton Miller was out for the season. He ended up playing very well, but he wasn't chosen to be the starter over Miller.
Fast forward to 2017 and it was the same thing. Haskins looked good against TTUN, but again that was out of necessity, not choice. The starting quarterback is chosen after an offseason of preparation. Haskins took a big step up in 2018, but it doesn't logically follow that he was ready in 2017.
"We get paid to score touchdowns, not kick field goals"
-- Urban Meyer
No one was going to start over JT in his fifth year with Urban Meyer at the healm. A lot of folks confuse a coach playing who they prefer with a player beating another out. Haskins saved the day against TUN. We would have lost that game if JT would have continued. Haskins came in and did what we have seen him do every game since, tear it up.
Fields either got sold a bill of goods or didn't understand what was happening at Georgia.. I tend to think he wasn't exactly told the truth. Lawrence at Clemson and Fields at Georgia both asked for the same thing.... and open depth chart. If I come in and win the job I can play as a Freshman. Worked out fine for Lawrence... but once on campus it became obvious to Fields that the only way he would see the field for the next 2 years was if Fromm got injured.
Herbie had a great interview about how Fromm couldn't be benched, about how it would wreck the team chemistry and how Kirby Smart was never going to do that..There was never going to be an open tryout..
Then as some NFL folks started thinking maybe there was some smoke in mirrors with Fromm's play ( bunch of NFL folks think you could take any SEC QB and put up similar #s with that roster) there were whispers Fromm might be a 4 year starter. It's sort of similar to Shea Patterson. The overall numbers look good but when you toss out all the cupcakes and look at the #s vs actual defenses they don't look so good..
There was a potential Fields wouldn't be able to even win the gig until 2021... so he started to look elsewhere..
Dude - these guys get to TO WIN. Whoever gives them the best chance plays. PERIOD. They don’t promise kids anything but an opportunity. That’s all. There isn’t any “selling any bill of goods”
pay no mind to random commentary
the reality is a coach recruiting a high school prospect knows full well 99.99% of them will have some struggles with the college game their first year — meantally, physically, scholastically — and it tempers their talk with said recruits to try and paint the picture they are wanted, but there is a butt-load of work to do before becoming a player at an elite college program
“Save yourself and relax during every game. I recommend a fine bourbon.”
It makes Jake another JT.
That's right, that's right, we bad
It makes Jake another JT.
Not really. We have to realize that both JT and Haskins had similar seasons the last 2 years. 11 regular season wins, lose to a crappy team, win the division, win the conference, win a bowl game.
Haskins was a better passer, but the running game suffered in the OSU offense because Haskins wasn't really a run threat. It's apples vs. oranges. We could and did have the same result in wins/losses with either QB.
Having a pro style qb is a terrible excuse for an underwhelming run game

Can I assume you meant "overstate"?
Yes you can.
Ok I’m officially ready for the 2019 season
His talent is undeniable. Now, it's just a matter of when he will be eligible to play.
Any lawyer taking Field's case wouldn't hang his hat on just one factor.
Hoping Justin's talent at leadership and making others better will be as laudable as his physical abilities.
Our honor defend, so we'll fight to the end !
Getting excited about the spring game. Gotta get my hands on 50 yard line seats.
Judging by your username, I’m guessing you want those tickets to watch Chrisman boot it!
"He has that look in his eye when it's time to start feeding the beast" UFM on EZE
Spring game tickets are mostly first come, first served. Get your butt there early this year!
Don't get too excited. Despite all the hype, spring games are pretty boring.
Spring games can be fun. You can sit in seats you probably couldn't afford for a regular game. If you make a weekend of it as we do, you can go to the lacrosse game usually before the Spring game, then go to volleyball that night as they are usually starting the men's playoffs that night. We also go to the zoo. Lots to do if you want to make a weekend of it.
Spring games are great! Cheap family entertainment, especially with little ones.
I enjoy the spring game for a few reasons.
It's very relaxed (OSU will 100% win). You get a glimpse of the new players and what they can do. And somewhat sadly it's the one game where people from all walks of life can bring all of their kids to experience the Horseshoe. Imagine a family of 4 trying to attend the TTUN game at $190 a ticket (or $350 from scalpers) Yikes!
Let's hope he is as good in college as his high school tape. My only concern is in the locker room, hopefully that is not a problem
I am not sure what impact it would have outside of the QB room and how those guys take it. The other players are probably friends with those guys but also want the best chance to win as well. There will be competition. That is all anybody can ask for here.
I just do not see it being a problem generally. The depth at QB is a concern again. As I do not see Martel sticking around if he loses out.
Well. at least from an offensive standpoint, we are losing most of the OLine and 3-4 big time receivers, so the connection with the past may be minimal?
Fields deciding to transfer would not, by itself, cause a problem in the locker room. How Day handles his players, not to mention bad tweets and interviews, will make a big difference.

I don't understand how Pryor wasn't a legit 1.0 watching his HS film

I believe DaQuan Bowers and Julio Jones were both pushing him for the #1 spot

I'm not trying to win a popularity contest. I'm trying to win football games-- Woody Hayes
Excited. His HS highlights were ridiculous.
Lets just hope he delivers on his high ranking.
Hope he is eligible. He is behind though, despite the great talent, in terms of learning the system. Not many guys just come in and learn this sort of thing in a season. That said, his talent alone makes him a likely candidate. Assuming he beats out Martel. Good luck to all of them. Having that sort of mobility at QB and great passing ability is something else though. Usually it is one or the other.
The team should be scary again next year. Have to see how things go on defense but the offense looks solid.
Pryor had to beat Todd Boeckman and at the time our offensive line was shaky with Bollmann in charge. Also, Tressel was in love with his strength and athleticism.
It will be tough for him to come in and start day 1, but I am looking forward to seeing it play out.
So much is changing right now. The new guy doesn't know Fields, Martell or Baldwin. Day and Wilson do of course. But the system is kind of going to change and whomever picks it up and produces is gonna win. Either way, its nice to have 3 good ones competing.
It's being reported that Fields is going to file for a hardship waiver so that he can play this year. In order to have it granted, does Georgia have to approve this, or is it strictly NCAA ruling on it?
What's round on the ends and high in the middle? Tell me if you know!
To answer your question, NuttyBuckeye:
The NCAA recently changed the rules so a school like Georgia can no longer restrict where a player can transfer. The only question is whether Fields will get a waiver from the NCAA rules about a one-year sit-out by transferring.
This is fun trivia, but the list of All Time Commits is way more underwhelming than I expected
1. Jadaveon Clowney
2. Robert Nkemdiche
3. Rashan Gary (lol) / Vince Young / Ernie Sims
6. Ronald Powell / Trevor Lawrence
8. Fields / Dorial Green Beckham / DJ Williams / Brock Berlin
Absolutely disgraceful for Gary to be in the same no. as Vince Young. Young's Rose Bowl performance against USC was one of the finest single player efforts I have ever seen.
"The minute we stop expecting greatness, we become Wisconsin."
Gary actually killed it in HS, absolutely unstoppable. I think he digressed a bit at TTUN. Shows the difference in player development b/w tOSU and TTUN, IMO.

Leave one wolf alive....and the sheep are never safe
Bosa (Man) vs. Gary (Boy)
And the Rose Bowl victory over TTUN the year prior.
Keep in mind this list is not really "of all time" but "since 2000". There are some players that would have been 1's. Orlando Pace, for instance.
I thought of Orlando also. How in the world can anyone be a higher rated prospect than Pace? Nobody on that list is a better FB player than 75.

When playing Iowa, please be like TP.
Are you kidding me. I hope he is sugar and rose bowl mvp's. How bout posters dont comment like did guy^^^^
Fields is quite gifted from everything I've seen. He will fit in well here at Ohio State. I like Martell too, I hope he stays and competes.
I do not think he will be eligible to play this season. The rational he is going to use to play is not egregious enough to give him this year. In comparison, the Shea Patterson was BARELY allowed to transfer and play immediately and that came after sanctions and penalties. Fields had to deal with racism.....which 1) this is America and 2) this happened in Georgia. As bad as racism is it will not be enough to allow him to place this year so Tate can relax.
I bleed scarlet...literally
Shea Patterson was BARELY allowed to transfer and play immediately and that came after sanctions and penalties
Huh? I know it took until April but just about every source I read said it was a safe bet he would get eligibility from the get go. Denying a racially based waiver might be a PR disaster the NCAA just chooses to avoide.
Not to mention, eyes on TV screens matter ($$$$), and Justin Fields name does just that.
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
I could not agree more. Also, gotta side with the kid on this one even if he is using the "race" card to get his eligibility immediately. If someone called me a racial epithet at a certain place or was a member of that institution, I would sour pretty quickly too. Not playing behind a guy that you feel you are better than would also probably grow this distaste. I would assume that most Ohio State players go their careers in Columbus without being called the N-word by fellow student athletes. He also hired a lawyer who has never lost a case determining immediate eligibility if I am not mistaken.
I agree with you and especially when it turned out that person was a fellow athlete. That fact right there is bizarre enough. And UGA kicked the baseball player off the team. He obviously will take note of the safety clause in the below verbiage from the NCAA:
the new NCAA transfer rules enacted in April — “immediate eligibility may be provided to a transfer student-athlete, provided… the transfer is due to mitigating circumstances that are outside the student-athlete’s control and directly impact the health, safety and well-being of the student-athlete” — to secure the ability to play in 2019.
That's my view too, Mtrob.
The racial offender wasn't some hick fan. He was a student-athlete at Georgia. That makes it an institutional problem. Fields should not have to tolerate an environment where fellow athletes can use racial slurs against him.
I wouldn't go throwing around "institutional problem", but one hick student-athlete can be enough to make you feel unsafe/uneasy about being in a place even if that hick was dismissed from the institution. Gotta think that some of his hick friends still blame Justin Fields for his dismissal right? I am not a UGA fan at all, but this is not on them. They kicked the kid out of school and sport, but at that point, the damage was done. The kid should be able to play right away even if he went to TTUN. Takes a lot for me to say that. Just glad he is with the good guys.
At Mgoblog they've pretty much all accepted that his immediate eligibility is going to happen, with half of them believing it's the logical next step after Patterson, and the other half thinking that it shouldn't happen but that the fix is in for Ohio State.
Horrible post on many notes. You have no clue about racism. None.
I’ll bet my paycheck vs your $100 that he’s eligible to play.
patience, time will tell as this needs to slog they legal channels
I also don’t think he should be eligible based the complaint about the baseball player. UGA did not tolerate the actions of the idiot. They dealt with it appropriately. This is not discrimination by UGA, it’s just one idiot.
"Your honor, our institution may have subjected the young man to a racist remark, but I do declare, after all this IS America and furthermore it happened in GEORGIA, not in some mamby pamby politically correct state. I rest my case!"
The will to win is not as important as the will to prepare to win. -- Woody Hayes
Considering that Pryor could barely throw a football with any real skill, this is really stupid.
Imagine if he had Day as a QB coach. I think those mechanics would have greatly improved.
Pryor played his first three seasons in the NFL at QB and started 10 games. While his career as an NFL QB was short lived do you realize how many college QB's never make an NFL roster let alone start an NFL game? Saying he barely had any skill throwing a football is a gross exaggeration. The NFL in general clearly did not agree with the belief he had no skill throwing a football or he would have never been given the chance to prove himself. Succeeding as an NFL QB however involves much more than simply being able to throw a football.
Yeah, he really stunk up the 2010 Rose Bowl. Art Schlichter was a 52% passer. Bobby Hoying 58%. J.T. Barrett 62%. Rex Kern 52%. Joe Germaine 60%. Troy Smith 63%. Craig Krenzel 57%. Terrelle Pryor 61%. Looks to me he fit right in with NCs, Heisman winners and other Buckeye greats.
Justin Fields is now the highest-rated player in the history of Ohio State football.
Make preparations in advance. You never have trouble if you are prepared for it.
Orlando Pace farts in your general direction. He's highest rated player since 2000, not in the history of Ohio State football.
The article says so, but I get what you're trying to say. And since Pace didn't play HS ball in the modern era, we've got to start somewhere. Take it up with Kev, it's his piece.
Pace didn’t play in the “modern” era, bullshit! He wasn’t wearing a leather helmet.
lol I watched Pace pile up pancakes every Saturday, chief. When was the last time you saw anybody outside of Michigan fans talk about the leather helmet era? It's not even considered football, for all intents and purposes. Work with me, here.
Let's face it, if the world wide web wasn't in American homes, probably safe to re-categorize modern era. There's a reason why the online database only goes back 19 years. Not saying I like it, but hey <Bosa Shrugs>
Glad Fields is heading to Ohio State. If Haskins goes pro, the QB competition should be interesting.
Tweeting Tate removed all doubt, speaking of don'r make the same mistake twice.
OH-IO living in SEC! SEC! Ville
Definitely hope that hardship waiver comes through. I want to see this kid sling it, NOW!
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
Damn. I was hoping for year without controversy. Personally, Im for Tater.
Can we just skip the next few months, and fast-forward to spring ball already?!!
Out of darkness cometh light
Hold up, I’m ready to see this magical run OSU b-ball and Blue Jackets are about to go on.
You want a whore, buy one. You want a queen, earn her.
Its time to see what Martell is made of
Tate is in a good position. Assuming fields is not elligble the job is tates to lose. Being a third year player he could stay or if it looks like fields would beat him out he can transfer.
But if he transferred, he'd have to sit out a year. Might as well stay here and then grad transfer a year later.
He has two more years to wait before he can be a grad transfer. If he transfers now, he could play elsewhere in 2020 (and 2021). What he WON'T do is wait until after next year and transfer then.
Or maybe he could transfer now and get a waiver to play immediately, based on all the short jokes made by the Buckeye fanbase.
unless I am mistaken, if you are a college gradute (hold an undergrad degree paper thingy) then you can transfer to a university offering coursework in your chosen degree program, and use all of your remaining ‘eligibility’ for your new team [current example Joe Burrow] immediately
That's true. Since I don't know where Tate is in pursuit of his degree, I have to admit that this is a possibility. Very few college athletes, though, are able to graduate in just three years. Burrow was an exception. Tate? I suppose it's possible.
He is NOT going to be required to sit.
Honestly, i feel this makes that 2018 class one of the greatest in recruiting history. Even though we may have got him a year later lol.
All Hail Urbz
boom...but this also confirms Haskins will declare for the NFL draft, and contrary to what Martell says, he’ll probably be transferring as well...still...BOOM!
Shits about to get real
He kind of reminds me of a Russell Wilson/Terrelle Pryor clone. He’ll certainly be behind Martell in development but his upside is insane.
The problem now is how many qb’s will we have next fall as 1 or 2 could transfer.
Last Natty was delivered by our 3rd team QB. Great offensive minds Day/Wilson could creatively keep a starter with the backup seeing playing time also. Not "package plays but playing the actual game". 3rd team QB in mop up duty. You never know what the future holds.
You win with people.
Nice ! His throwing form needs tightened up from looking at his pic. Higher and tighter and not drop the throwing arm that far down. Am I wrong about that coaches ?
Rose Bowl or Bust
From the picture, it looks like he has a little bit of a Tebow wind up
There are lots of guys gaining immediate eligible... not just Shea Patterson. Antonio Williams and Jack Wohlabaugh, both from Ohio State, gained immediate eligibility in the ACC at UNC and Duke respectively.
When I die, sprinkle my ashes over the 70's
What is Tate tweeting today?
He is now looking for a hardship loophole
The ugly truth is often downvoted
" we play to win the game "
Fields comes in a #3 behind Baldwin and Martell due to inexperience in the system. How much can he learn between now and fall ball? Hopefully, coaches have communicated to him that he gets to earn his spot like everyone else. Wonder how much of his transfer decision was a "fit issue"? Spring ball will be fun to watch- Fall will be intense!!! May the best man win the job this Fall.
He can and will learn a TON!!!!
Don't discount the possibility of Day and Yurcich tweaking the passing game more to their liking not Urban's. In that case, all the QBs will have to learn a new system.
Does anyone know how likely it will be that Fields can start right away? I mean I know a Georgia student called him the n word but will that be enough? I'm not saying it should or shouldn't be I'm just wondering if it really is a done deal that he can start right away or not. Thanks.
It will be enough. NCAA isn’t going to try to fight that. PR nightmare
I think Field's case with the NCAA could be that the racial slur came from within the Georgia athletic department. It wasn't a random fan, it was a baseball player, presumably on scholarship. That is, a case can be made that Georgia tolerates racist attitudes in their student-athletes until they are exposed.
Georgia did the right thing by removing the baseball player from his team. They probably need to go a bit further in evaluating and educating student-athletes.
Trust that the coaches have vetted Fields well enough that they feel he will fit in the tOSU 'family'. Perhaps Tate's original comments were not meant as they appeared to infer [ modified somewhat, recently ] but I took them to be not very welcoming to a potential new 'brother'. Could be some dissension brewing.
IMO...Tate is not big enough to play QB at the next level but may be a fantastic slot receiver. Maybe he should look at going that route if Fields is that good.
It's an amazing pickup to be sure, I'm definitely excited, but I'm also filled with a great deal of concern. As we recall, Pryor's time at OSU didn't end well, and Field's rather sudden departure could portend future drama. I guess I just want to be absolutely excited but am cautiously optimistic. And without question Tate has paid his dues as a Buckeye and is also supremely talented. Also, we STILL do not know Haskins' decision, and without a doubt he'd be the starter if he decided to stay. What do you do with these three guys, AND what do you do with Matt Baldwin from the fabled Lake Travis HS. Again, EXCITED here, just a LOT to take in and consider. And a final note, I'm at the point where I couldn't care less about a running QB. Were it MY preference, we'd never ever get another "dual threat" QB. I want a QB that's mobile, elusive, but drops a dime when he THROWS the ball to a 5 star RECEIVER. Or hands the ball off to a RUNNING back. Just a sayin.
Round on the ends and "HI" in the middle. O-HI-O.
Let's be real. Haskins lack of mobility did hurt us at times (getting touchdowns 0/4 times in the red zone against Purdue, he did finally start running later in the year once we threatened to start using Martell in the red zone). We still need a running qb. I thought Martell was our guy. I thought he was going to be our Baker Mayfield. I also want to know if Fields can actually start right away since I know you are technically supposed to sit out a year if you transfer. Yes I know he was called the n word but do you really think that is going to be enough of a case? I'm not saying it shouldn't be but I am just asking a question.
Whatever Haskins’ “lack of mobility” hurt us this season he more than made up for with his arm. Kid threw 79 times vs Purdont. You think he was calling those plays? The point is that we have the talent to have the QB do what a QB does best and that’s throw.
Haskins = gone
Tate is good but not supremely talented.
Baldwin is an unknown commodity.
If you don’t think Fields is the real deal then I’m not sure to say. Just sayin
Haskins=ain’t gone YET
Tate=known Buckeye, winner, leader, most likely to replace Haskins in locker room and on Field as of today
Baldwin=likely amazing Pro-Style QB from proven QB factory that’s produced Brees, Mayfield, Ehrlinger, many others.
Fields=generational talent, didn’t beat Fromm for starting QB, coming in with some drama and baggage.
INSUM: I like where we are at regardless. In Day we trust. WHO’S GOT IT BETTER THAN US!?
Cam Newton 112.9
TG Proud Buckeye alumnus.
So what happens if Haskins stays?
Onward and upward! Go Buckeyes!
He and Fields are good friends and talk all the time, so that should tell you one thing...he's gone
Haskins is the 1st QB off the board in the weakest QB Class for the NFL Draft in 15 years. No Way he stays. If next if in 2019, you get hurt, You have a less than 2018 year (you think another 50 TD's /5,000 yards is realistic?) Other QB's emerge. You go from being a Top 10 pick to a top 25-40 pick, CONGRATS---you just cost yourself 20-30 million dollars
I am not as excited with Fields as so many are given his jumping around as a commit and then as a player. I am most excited about Baldwin and very interested in his development under Day. I do not like running QB's with our talent at skill positions and what I firmly believe will be a MUCH better O-Line RUN the TB and PASS to the WR, by the way my daughter was holding a Braxton Miller jersey while Braxton's mom gave her flu shots at Rocking Horse her in Springfield. I am much happier with our offense if the QB is mobile yet is pass first and this guy appears to be ME first!
I would rather be on hand with 10 men then elsewhere with 10,000 - Timur Lenk
Pass to everybody! WRs, TEs, RBs Slot receivers....EVERYBODY. Which is what #7 did so well. Distribute the ball. And if Day does not have a person charting touches, he needs to have one.
if Day does not have a person charting touches, he needs to have one.
A student manager could do this.
Now on the positive side IF Fields is eligible and wins the job he is an excellent change from the shifty Dobbins with his size and strength where I do not think Martell and Dobbins fit well as they are both similar runners!
Then there's this...

...and yet he couldn't beat out Jake Fromm.. doubt if he beats out Tate
Hopefully they groom him up. I have a feeling DAY will. Feels like a Good MATCH
I am thrilled that we have the talented young man joining us. I expect great things. I honestly hope all of our quarterbacks are throwing 350 footballs a day to make them all contenders to start or at least see second team snaps. Tate is smaller but he's dynamic. I could see him scoring a lot as an H back. I hope he is incredible passing the football.
The competition will be fierce but we have 2 great QB minds and Wilson also. Starter will be announced approx. Aug. 26. Baldwin could be a strong challenger also.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD KEEP HIM AWAY FROM TATOO PARLORS
why? that’s sooo early 2000’s
now, misbehavior with campus coeds and teachers— that never goes outta style
I know this is the unpopular opinion and there are no guarantees when you commit but I'm all for Tate. He has given everything for this program esp on the scout team. There has to be some loyalty to a kid when he choses OSU. If he is undersized and prob won't start let him know before he commits. Otherwise let him start and prove it on the field one way or the other.
The kid is a baller. A winner and has yet to lose a football game. AND he's all Buckeye for the last 2 years.
Best I could do, unfortunately. And it was tough to find a picture of Tate in high quality with the right facial expression.
It’s official. Who’s the winner here? The Ohio State University. You need two good QBs to have a good run at the national title. Example: Alabama. Jalen Hurt saved the day at the SEC championship game. What he did in 2 quarters is absolutely amazing. We have not only 2 but 3 quality signal callers. Let these young men compete and with returning lettermen and excellent recruits we can contend. GoBucks.
This is great, because it gives us something to argue about on here for the next several years, about who should start, who should have started, and ...
Even better would be Haskins staying another year or two ....
So the question is where will Tate transfer to?
A: “from ‘shotgun’ to ‘under center’ during the start of the season, on the first series of the Day Era?”
what do I win??
Lmao not even a whisper of this over on Mgo! They know the future is still bleak. Fuck you Mythigan.
