Welcome home sir, please continue passing the ball.
Thanks in advance.
Welcome home sir, please continue passing the ball
. . . successfully—that is—for Wins.
Sure hope OSU doesn't cut back on the running game . . . especially for the rainy, windy, cold, B1G weather late in the season.
Our honor defend, so we'll fight to the end !
...And run the RBs...
Okie St ran the ball this past year on 51% of their plays and the QB was only 134 out of the 518 total or 26%.
We ran the ball just barely 50% of our play calls this year and QB runs were about 17% of all runs
in 2017 with JT we ran the ball on 57% of the time and the QB was nearly 33% of those runs
So somewhere in between those 2
Now go back to when Okie St had Mason Rudolph at QB and they ran the ball exactly 50% of their plays and the QB was only 14% of all run plays.
So when they had a great passer who was not a runner, they still broke down at 50% like we did this year and the QB was an even smaller percent of all runs
in that 2017 season they had a 1400+ yard back with 15 TDs
Excited to see what this has in store in the next two seasons
You can feed a bobcat all the chili it wants. That don't mean it's going to crap out diamonds.
Spoiler: He'll get his first picture taken since 1979 apparently
Buckshots... always there for you if you missed the news last month
He looks a little older than 3 in his picture lol
Whoso would be a man, must be a non-conformist.
Damn, $950k out of the gate. I'm interested to see what he will bring to the offense.
Day’s making about $2.5M less than Urban; theoretically, that gives Gene Smith money to funnel into assistant salaries.
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke
My thoughts exactly
True, but Day didn't get to that salary until last season, and I'd argue he was a bit more accomplished. Regardless, I think OSU sees that they have to start paying assistants more.
"We gotta go win this next game and make the State of Ohio proud!"-UFM
It’s not about Day making $1M as the OC/QBC this season, it’s that Urban made $7M this season and Day will make $4.5M as head coach, which, theoretically, gives Gene $2.5M to play with, even after Yurcich gets paid roughly what Day was making.
OSUs salary structure for the football coaching staff does not appear to be zero-sum game. Head coach salary reduction of 2.5M doesn't mean we have that much more to spend on assistants. OSU has a profit-making athletic department. They will pay their head coach and assistants as is appropriate. In 2018, assistant coaching salaries went up 3.4M (source: https://news.osu.edu/ohio-state-football-assistant-coaching-staff-receiv...). That money surely didn't come from a Meyer pay cut.
This does trace back to Woody Hayes, who was said to have turned down pay raises, with a request to spend it on his assistant coaches.
That seems to be the direction that college football is moving.
Welcome coach Yurcich!! We are excited to see what you bring!
On the high end of the market, which is where Ohio State lives, you've got to pay to get top talent; period.
The only hard day was yesterday
Dangerous statement if used in the wrong context
Too late, McMurphy is already reporting it as fact.
The Special Ed Conference pays to get top talent......on both sides of the roster
I agree with you. Just surprised he is making that much in his first year. Obviously Day and Gene Smith see something in him. Let's keep breaking some offensive records!
Just surprised he is making that much in his first year
That was my first thought as well. But when I thought about it some more, it makes sense. A head coach with only 3 games under his belt needs a strong supporting cast, and TOSU is rolling in money from fan support, ticket sales, boosters, merchandise, etc.
We don't have to hire 2nd-rate coaches. Get the best ones.
"We get paid to score touchdowns, not kick field goals"
-- Urban Meyer
If Day theoretically (and hopefully actually does) become a very successful HC, that will change in 2-3 years. See Lincoln Riley. I suppose if that happens, though, hires such as this will become HCs elsewhere and their replacements can be restructured to lower compensated positions in some manner.
Don't forget Assistant AD Meyer is getting paid.
And teaching a business class. That’s probably already sold out.
Iowa, I was like seven years old thinking that girl was so hot in the movie.
I'm so old I took a class taught by Woody Hayes. Show up 5 minutes early or the doors were locked. Sit up straight or get out of class. Do that today and get sued and removed from teaching by the politically correct police.
I’m really happy we are paying our assistants now. Didn’t used to be this way.
With Ohio's taxes compared to Oklahoma's, he's practically taking a pay cut.
Maybe, but OK st offensive coordinators get hired to be QB coach’s at Ohio St. Ohio st assistants become head coachs.
That does seem a bit high, but I supposed the man does bring with him a track record of top-10 offenses. Some of the comments about Ryan Day making USD2.5MM less than UM needs to be tempered with the fact that he's only been a HC for less than a month, while UM has 3 national championships. Once he wins a championship, happy for the man to get paid as much as the market/university is willing to give.
No one’s saying it’s not appropriate for him to be making less than Meyer, it’s that there’s that much more room in the budget for assistants.
The following sentence is troubling, “Yurcich's title of passing game coordinator, however, suggests that offensive play calling will be a collaborative effort between two or more coaches.” Suggests too many cooks in the press box for my liking. Add to the fact that Coach Day will be the final arbiter and you have a receipt for some early season struggles and lots of delay of game penalties, false starts, etc.
Glad to see that Yurcich is an Ohio native who grew up with some knowledge of the rivalry with ttun. More are needed on the staff so that Coach Day will always be reminded of the importance that that game means to Buckeye fans everywhere. I don’t know if I can take another 2-10-1 stretch. Darn near killed me and I’m too old to survive another one!

Welcome home coach.
In addition to the raise he doesn't have to say "Go Pokes" anymore.
And he doesn’t work for a MAN with a mullet
Buckeye til I die
Gundy has his quirks but overall he's a really good guy. As for the Cowboys, they will always be in the shadow of OU. Sort of like MSU is always in the shadow of *ichigan; which is one of the reasons, along with a boat load of money, why Nick Saban left E.Lansing for LSU.
BTW, the whole saying is; Go Pokes; Guns Up.
Welcome home Coach Y.
Gundy is an ass
I actually like Mike Gundy. Seems like a real guy...maybe a little strange but I think he has his players best interests in mind.
except for anyone who decides to leave a program for something better suited for them. Those are snowflakes in his mind. So no matter what in life stick with something even if you do not like it. NOT to say do not work hard. So technically no coach should ever leave, no teacher, no one. Just suck it up and stay. TOTAL ASS
My head hurts.
"Give your dream an aspiration date."
Its called commitment, when you commit to something you man up and see it through to the finish no matter how shitty it is. He's not an ass, he's holding young men accountable.
Yes - then he should have never left Baylor or Maryland for a better job. Also - OSU should never take a transfer student b/c they are not committed.
It really is called reality - some situations are better and some grass is actually greener. I would never tell a kid who made a decision at 17 or 18 that you are stuck somewhere even if the coach staff mislead or even lied on your role with the team.
Baker Mayfield should have stayed at Texas Tech what a snowflake
Kyler Murray should have stayed at Texas A&M what a snowflake
Cam Newton should have stayed at Florida - Snowflake
Lebron James should never have done any moving for his career - what a snowflake (so guess this includes any player or coach that wants to go anywhere in the NFL, MLB, NHL, or NBA).
First off plenty of 18 year old kids make commitments you cant walk away from, I served with a lot of them. Secondly saying players can do something because coaches can doesn't make either the right thing to do. It is the players responsibility to explore all options and select the best fit for them in the beginning. You don't quit your team because your not the starter, you work your ass off and win the position. You don't run away and quit because you don't get your way. When you say you are going to do something, you do it. Yes those guys should have stayed and fought for their positions and stuck with the team they signed up to play for. People are only as good as their word. If it isn't hard it isn't worth doing.
let's not get off point - Gundy is an ass. He quit and went somewhere else for something better and then says kids should not. Also- you are telling me that the kids that go to another school are not working their asses off at the new school. You are trying to over simplify this. Great that you served - that is not the same thing- not even close
Kids and coaches are NOT equal. Coaches are making a living and either complete their contracts, get fired from the position or move on and have their contract bought out by a new employer. A player commits to play somewhere for x amount of years for a free education. No where is a coach or school obligated to play anyone. The kid needs to think about those things before he gives his WORD that he will be apart of a TEAM. If your motivation is starting pick a school you know you can start at, if you pick an elite school with elite competition and you don't start or play, suck it up and get BETTER. Stop coddling these 18 year old young men, like I said in my previous comment plenty of 18 year old kids that join the military and cant walk away cause they had a shitty day or didn't get their way, or everything they were promised so why should these kids be treated any different? So stop acting like these kids are getting taken advantage of. Its called being a man and being good to your word. Its not about what other people do its about what YOU do. Its Gundys responsibility to hold his guys to a standard, and to grow into responsible Men not quitters, or snowflakes as you called them.
Gundy called them snowflakes.
So guess you are against kids leaving early to go to the NFL. So are you fine with a kid leaving if a coach leaves they thought would be there, and I guess you are saying these kids are not trying to make a living and preparing for their future. Many of these transfers make millions b/c they transferred. So I guess the three Heisman trophy winners I listed are losers - did not suck it up and did not work hard.
100% correct - coaches that make millions of dollars riding the talent of these kids are not the same as the player. Urban is a quitter. He should finish his contract too. Many folks quit or leave their job for better being pay, location, an ass of a boss, etc. Are these quitters? Or only college kids can be quitters.
So just in case Justin Fields comes to OSU next year or any other transfer in the future - just make sure you label them as a quitter and cheer against them b/c they are not responsible men.
Justin Fields committed to go to Georgia, not to only go to Georgia if he gets to start the first or second year. IMO he needs to stick it out and win the position, he is not entitled to anything. These kids think they call the shots, no if you make the big boy decision to commit to something then you need to finish it through. No body said there are not special circumstances for transfers, but playing time and not getting your way is not one of them. Health, abusive boss, family issues of course is not quitting. You are acting like these kids are being victimized by getting the privilege to play big time college football and go to school for free because the coaches make money. The coaches are paid to help these kids through this phase in their life, not just to make it to the NFL. Gundy is just trying to instill an attitude of not quitting when shit gets hard, just because he changed jobs does not disqualify him to do so. But we will just have to agree to disagree.
If things continue the way they are, MSU won’t always be in the shadow of UM, especially for the younger generation.
Ryan Day has made no promises about next year's Hair style. Let's just let sleeping mullets lie.
He's 50 BTW. True story and I could see Urban doing the same thing. A few years ago he was having his house remodeled and he happened to be home one day and a few of the contractors had OU shirts or hats on; he told them to pack their shit and get out of his house.
Or give them Okie Light shirts and win over a few converts. Free their minds and their asses will follow!
I knew I would like this guy !
No, he’s a man, he’s 40. Forever
Wow quite to pay raise compared to what he was making in stillwater.
Welcome aboard, coach.
How much was he making? Interested t o know how much more we pay our staff compared to others.
400k. The selling point in Stillwater is that they don’t overwork them.
The article says he was making $800,000 last year in Stillwater
Kind of interesting that it's actually not that much of a raise %-wise. I'm more surprised that he was making 800k at OkState. I guess it's a $150k raise plus a much better jumping off point to a HC gig.
When Gundy called and offered him the job at Okie State for $400k, there was silence on the other end. Gundy asked if he was still there; Yurcich confirmed he was; Gundy asked if he needed to talk to his wife. Yurcich replied, “I don’t need to talk to anyone.” He was making $52,500 at the time. Something tells me Mike Yurcich knows a good thing when he sees it.
I'd take a 150k raise
I'd take $150k...or 100k...and since I'm presently unemployed....50k.
Anyone need a tall...dark and handsome radio personality with a rich baritone voice?
No but I need someone to wash tractors
I must have missed that, sorry
2 years, $950,000 annually........Yurcich now.
You know, that’s not half bad.
It will be interesting to see if his efforts translate to the B1G. You know, where there is a defense.
Good luck to the new coach!
Wecome to OSU Yurcich family.
Beat everyone, in every sport, all the time!!!
Buctor, If TTUN was the No. 1 defense in the country, is there a defense in the BIG?
a hard rock miner from Butte, Montana
Good to see Day getting his staff together. I’m looking forward to more announcements.
Read my entire screen name....
Give Day a day or two to move into his new office and then wait for No. 2.
I thought Hartline was #1, Yurcich is #2, so we are waiting on #3.
The combination of Day, Yurchich and Hartline is going to mean major headaches for opposing defenses. Just imagine.
I like the direction the staff is going (Day, Yurcich, Hartline, possibly Washington). Young, energetic, and super talented.
Any news on Washington that you’ve heard? I wasn’t able to find anything concrete. Just that he has OSU ties growing up in Cbus and his dad played for Woody Hayes. Also, that’s he’s a very good recruiter and a rising star.
No concrete info, but a lot of smoke.
I’d be amped about that hire as well.
Clenut, seeing multiple sources beginning to report it unofficially now. There’s an 11W forum topic of a Michigan reporter Yost? saying it’s all but done. Rivals has something saying the same thing. Holy cow, if this goes official, it will be the sweetest steal!!!
He liked a tweet so it’s as good as done.
I too like the direction that Day’s staff is taking and am really interested in seeing who will be on his defensive staff.
Literally just saw the tweet. Dang 11w was fast on this one.......

Here we go!
There's no points for second place, gentlemen.
Great minds, 10. Great minds lol...
One man's trash, is another man's treasure
Now let's focus on the opposite side of the ball..I like what Day is doing, I know he has more in store for us! Welcome aboard, Sir!
If I'm Tate Martell I'm getting worried. If Haskins comes back (which I think he will) Tate obviously sits, if Haskins leaves and Fields transfers in I think Tate sits, and last, if Haskins leaves and Fields dont transfer, dont forget Baldwin.....Days hand picked 4 star pocket passer. And now bringing in Yurcich. Tate you better do more than run your mouth on Twitter. You got a major competition on your hands my friend
"The minute I think I'm getting mellow, I'm retiring. Whoever heard of a mellow winner."
You nailed it Woody!
The issue with Fields is between the ears. Got a lot of raw talent but needs a good QB coach to bring him along and teach him to recognize defenses and make the proper reads. Word is that he takes off running when his primary receiver is not open and struggles with his progressions. I don't see him walking in and taking the job right away; plus Tate and Baldwin ain't exactly chopped liver.
The issue with Fields is between the ears? What the hell are you trying to say?
Account suspensions-3 Commenting policy violations-0
Nothing other then he needs to be coached up on being a college QB. You don't see too many complex defenses in HS and with his superior talent; whenever his primary receiver was covered; he tucked it and ran. I think that's why he's called a dual threat. It's one of the reasons he, and his family wants him to come to Ohio State; to be coached up by Ryan Day.
The dude won the elite 11 precisely BECAUSE of what is between his ears. He is considered one of the most polished and intelligent QB's of this generation and is already being sterotyped.
Just what are you trying to say...I am ever so curious?
Hopefully Fields isn’t TP 2.0... I will leave it at that...
TP 2.0 because in the end he was a prima-donna and found a way to bring the program down...
Hopefully Fields is a team guy first... that's what I love about Haskins and JT for that matter.
That's true with any freshman dual threat QB.
Haskins will be outta here like last year !
Cool. Love the news rolling in and the train still rollin on.

Yep, just getting back from California, now.
Yep, just getting back to (Northern) California now.
By all accounts a great first hire by Coach Day on the offensive side of the ball, an offense that was already pretty good. Now as to the defense . . .
"Life is ten percent what happens to you and ninety percent how you respond to it." - Woody Hayes
Boom! Great hire.
This has to make QB & WR recruits excited about OSU. Three of the most exciting pass happy innovative coaches in the country on the same staff.
Wow! Didn’t realize Day was so jacked!
On top of Hartline, WRs should like this hire. Okie St has had 4 straight seasons with a 1000 yard receiver including a pair of them last year.
Tennessee offered him $1m+ and OC and he picked the Buckeyes... Good to be Kings...Welcome to Buckeye Nation!!!!
and RIP run first QBs.... we had a great run...
Tennessee offered him $1m+
Then we should pay him more! Pay him more! Or else . . . (yammer, yammer)
Can we retire this gif? This is Kayla Maroney from the 2012 Olympics. She's like 16 here. Creeps me out whenever I see it.
If you're sexualizing swagger this much, I bet you feel really weird watching Baker Mayfield give interviews.
Actually, that's not weird at all.
Nah, probably has a daughter.
"Have a Coke and a smile!.....along with $150 in UM football tickets"
Wonder if it's a OC in waiting move, as in Kevin Wilson could be retiring in 2 years and it'll be his show with a raise again. That is pure speculation and nothing else.
Trusting the process on a daily basis
Go get'em Cal Poppy - we are behind you !!
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.
Did you mean on a Day-ly basis, Linga?
I survived Cooper, and I hate Tai Streets.
The offensive attack at Ohio State continues to evolve, and I love this hire.
Congratulations, and welcome aboard to Coach Yurcich.
Got M...igan gossip? Bang it here.
Welcome to the real OSU
Noon games suck
One fantastic GIF and yet so fitting
Not trying to read too much into semantics but who will the run game coordinator be? A bump for Alford? Will this mean Day will be head ball coach and o-coordinator? Or is this just a technicality until at some point later in the year due to some NCAA rule?
I like the hire.
Regarding the titles, MI has something similar and that ain’t working to well. See Pep Hamilton and Jimmy.
Kevin Wilson will coordinate the run game.
Just came here to say this sounds like a slam dunk and now I'm too pumped for next season already.
Me too. Already looking at the schedule. PSU and ttun in back to back weeks. Wtf?
Delaney wants the ratings. Guaranteed OSU-PSU and OSU-TTUN are the highest rated two weeks of the 2019 season.
Why do they need to be back to back though. They would be the most watched games if the year regardless of when they play.
sweet! here’s my question: does this mean someone will be named “run game coordinator”? how is the play calling handled?
My guess would be that someone would be a "run game coordinator". They would probably be co-coordinators in game like we have now, but each would focus of their type of play calling for practice/game prep
Keep Kevin Wilson !!
I love this hire. I really do.
But is he Mensa?
"Year for what?"
Excited to see who comes in on defense.
Day one. Winning.

Good. Offensive continuity.
Now what about defense?
"The future is bright at Ohio State." - Urban Meyer 1/1/15
Great Hire!!!! Can’t wait.
From one OSU to another. Love it. One thing the Cowboys never suck at is offense. Consistently excellent. Coach Day looking like Tom Cruise. Making all the right moves.
Round on the ends and "HI" in the middle. O-HI-O.
So far Day has been pretty flawless in this transition. Kept the recruiting class together. Performed well in the Rose Bowl and made a great hire
Stay golden, Ponyboy.
Nothing about his recruiting ability other than he is from Ohio. However if you don't recruit Ohio it won't matter much so I wonder what area he covered while at Stillwater? I think we should also get in our heads Fields is coming here and probably has been settled some time ago and Haskins is headed for the NFL he would be crazy to pass up millions to play another year here. That would be millions he would never get back you can only play so many years in the NFL why waste one playing for free. Which team out there needs a zone read qb?
From what I have heard he was one of OkiState's best recruiters including recruiting several of their WRs. He also gives us a recruiter with experience in Texas and Oklahoma, something we are losing with Urban retiring.
"You're the patron saint of the totally effed" - Hot Tub Time Machine
I had actually been wondering about the Texas angle. Like pretty much everyone in the Big 12, Texas recruiting is always vital for OKState.
The most "loud mouth, disrespect" poster on 11W.
I think Day was actually the man in Texas after Beck.
Yurcich is well regarded and has good relationships with many of the HS coaches in Texas; also knows the Tulsa area well. If not mistaken he recruited the RB out of Booker T to Stillwater; whose dumb ass brother just signed with *icigan at CB; name escapes me right now.
A spread on steroids? If you're a Buckeyes wide receiver you have to be frothing at the mouth for this upcoming season
Welcome aboard. Prepare to kick ass! GO BUCKS!!!
From one side of the ball at least
Ohio State has always prided itself on defense. Now who the hell is the defensive coordinator going to be. Can Day at least consider Bo Pelini?
Are you serious Clark?
I'm sure that Day will make good decisions for hiring defensive guys too (honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Schiano for another year though)... As far as going after a high octane offense - I think it's a must in today's CFB if you intend on competing with playoff caliber teams.
Urban Meyer >Jim Harbaugh for ever and ever, Amen. 0
Random sidenote about Yurcich. If anyone ran ran track/cross-country in the Youngstown area during the late 90s, early 00s you probably would know of his wife or sisters. The Nemerguts were a really good family of girls distance runners from (then North Lima now Canfield) South Range. His wife Julie may have been the best of the girls. I went a D-III school that was on their southern boarder, so we so South range at pretty much every non-league meet and had a "whoa, small world" moment reading an article yesterday.
Have you ever seen a fierce animal who you were sure wouldn't bite? Because I haven't.
Just curious: what were the Okie State fans' criticisms? I've heard that some were ready for him to move on, but not sure why given the offensive output.
OkieState fans largely blamed him for Gundy's shortcomings in recruiting elsewhere. Remember OkieState's AD publically called out Gundy for his recruiting last summer.
Somewhat true; as an aside, the OkieState AD, Mike Holder is the biggest problem in that entire athletic department.
A great write up OSU's offense
One that thing I can say with 100% certainty...no nepotism herve. Dude worked his way up from the bottom. Our HS has a better field than where he played and started coaching. McGrind knows a grinder when he sees one. Here’s hoping he beats Urb’s record and lays 65 on ttun.
ttun 2019 offense...same pig, different lipstick.
Anyone mention when Mike was a QB at Euclid, his RB was former Buckeye stud Pepe Pearson!?!
"When you help someone up a hill, you get that much closer to the top yourself..."
Robert Smith went to Euclid too
Pepe is probably my second favorite buckeye from that era. Loved that guy
South Range farm country that's really N. Lima I believe but yes next to Canfield. I was there last year for a hoop's game . Nice new high school they have out there.
Dear Coach....play one, RT eligible for 8....play 2...LT eligible for 8 yards. Play 3....middle screen to a TE for 40 yards because now they are worried about our tackles. Than a dart for the remaining 24 to a WR (just choose one of the about 8 we will have) ....we are up 7-0 in like 1:45
Thanks. Glad I could help.
What? I’ve been on this site all week and had no idea this was even a possibility. /s
Next up...retool the defensive staff
Great backstory on how Gundy found him originally. I think someone posted this in a different thread, but thought I would repost now that he’s been hired at tOSU.
I feel like Stud will be let go and Wilson will slide over to OL coach/Co-OC/Run coordinator where he belongs. At least that's what I'm hoping for.
Hmmmmmm. Wonder about that. Coach Wilson is not Coach Warinner, but I think that a dedicated OL coach is a better idea, especially in-game. OL coach, during the game, needs to be totally focused on the task at hand, which is coaching the OL and continuously monitoring the game, making in-game adjustments, talking with his players. IMO, shouldn't be multi-tasking during the game with OC responsibilities, ala Coach Warinner. Just my opinion.
If Coach Day wants his own OL coach, he must have someone in mind who suits his offense and his mindset. At least I would think so.
Wilson was the OL coach at Oklahoma in the 2000s.
Yes, I knew that. Maybe I didn't express myself clearly. I don't believe that Coach Wilson should now have dual responsibilities as co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. I'm sure that Coach Wilson would be a very good OL coach, if he were solely dedicated to that task at Ohio State.
But, as with Coach Warinner when he tried to do both in-game, the OL coach should be dedicated to that task only. The offensive coordinator(s), ideally, should be dedicated in-game to coordinating the offense and not being a position coach. The only exception on the offensive side of the ball that I can think of is that the offensive coordinator could also be the QB coach. I think that would probably work out okay, as long as somebody on the offensive coaching staff is observing the game from the booth and providing his bird's-eye-view of the game to the other coaches on the sideline.
To me anyway, the OL coach should be dedicated to that task in-game, only position coaching the OL, making in-game adjustments, etc.
Just make sure Mr. Larry Johnson gets his money and offer him a contract that will keep him here until he is ready to retire. He has earned that over any other coach.
Just read about his hire from Shippensburg, Pa. to Ok. State. Hilarious. Grundy went looking for the best anonymous coach because he was tired of OCs treating him like a stepping stone. He got to keep Yurcich for 7 seasons so I guess he got what he was hoping for. When people hear Ok State, they may not think playoff contender, but it’s not because of a lack of offense.
"Woody would have wanted it that way"
I was an interesting read. Grundy kept leaving messages at the university because no one was picking up the phone before they finally was in office. He had to ask how to get in touch with him and the response was he was out recruiting.
Mark May is a mental midget
Is it me or does he look like the Undertaker's younger brother?
adding a bit to the Okie St fans criticism of Yurcich....
at times they blame him for the defense lapses (tired) when the offense goes 3 and out so quickly. OKSU defenses get worn down pretty often, so I imagine this happened enough to cause concern. When OKST needed to burn some clock or rest the defense..they had trouble with that concept.
..just laughing at the historic imprint in my memory of Buddy Ryan choking Jeff Fisher for the same thing..
I like that's he from Ohio. And I'm guessing he was GA under Wilson at Indiana?
You've got to kick at the darkness till it bleeds daylight.
A guy I work with was an O-lineman at Edinboro and played for Yurcich. Thinks very highly of him, Says he is super smart, creative and a great hire, in his opinion. Says Yurcich is on a track to become a head coach. Expects him to do a great job in Columbus and then move on after two or three years under Day.
The Browns are no longer the worst franchise in all of professional sport.
