The players straight up LOVE Coach Day... excited for his era to begin..
What a great season. I hate to see Urban retiring, but I am looking forward to a new era.
Here's to hope for continued success in the Ryan Day era. O-H!
I - O!!!
Let the Day era begin!
He should start it off by bringing back the grey sleeve stripes.
Let’s keep it rolling Day!!! Now get your butt out there tomorrow and recruit recruit recruit. Go Bucks!!!
I hear Michigan's defense and coaches are like vampires. They only come out at night, because they're too traumatized by Day.
Tom Brady lost to John Cooper. Never forget.
The players love Day. That's a good sign. I think we're in good hands and Gene made the right decision... Imagine if they had hired some quirky goofball that players don't care for like Harbaugh! Lol
Urban Meyer >Jim Harbaugh for ever and ever, Amen. 0
Buckeyes football is in very good hands. Day will continue the tradition of excellence.
Day gets to go on the field with some of the best recruits in the country and build a reputation as a winner. Doesn't have to start at BGSU. What a platform on which to build a legacy! I'll say this right now; Ryan Day will not play "not to lose" until he's won a couple national championships. Then, maybe. Until then, no way. Get ready for some high octane football with a bad attitude!!!
That exchange was bad-ass
Yesterday, Today and Everyday. Ryan Day, Beat Michigan!
Don't believe everything you see on T.V. Abraham Lincoln
31 on the ACT? Damn, my diploma looks good right now.
It ain't what you don't know that gets you in trouble, it's what you know for sure that just ain't so.
Class act from a classy coach
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.

It's going to be a heavy freakin burden following Urban (and while fans also remember Tressel)...especially for a guy who's never had the head job anywhere before. I hope for the best (he sure inherited a stocked cupboard and seemed to do a great job with Haskins this year) but this ain't going to be "figure things out over time as you go" like a starter job in the MAC.
Here's your whistle. Last guy went undefeated his first year, won 90% of his games, was undefeated against TTUN. All you gotta do is better that performance and everything will be fine. Take one step back and the heat and pain you feel will be from a pitchfork and torch. Welcome to the bigtime and go get 'em Tiger!
There was a float in the parade yesterday from the Lions Club that had the words "Rockin' the Vest" on the front. All I could think of was even now they are paying homage to Tressel.
I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan!
No B1G west opponents to fall asleep on next year, I think Nebraska, Northwestern and Wisconsin will have our attention.
I do not at all have the mind of a bully... in my mind bullies are intolerant of contrary opinion, domineering and rather cowardly.
Things have been great here.
Things could be even better.
Time to get back to work. Much needs to be done.
Best of everything coach Day.
Football season is over! But many, many decisions are left to be made before the next season, by all levels of folks involved. Should be an interesting month or so as they play out.
Best of luck to those still around and to those that left! All are Buckeyes!!!!!
May the New Year be great in all respects for all, even the fans.
Peace, prosperity, good health, and wins to each and every new and old Buckeye!!!!!
Beat everyone, in every sport, all the time!!!
I really will miss Meyer. I hope he stays at Ohio State as assistant AD, but down deep I feel some of why he left is Drake and the three game suspension, and he will be back into coaching again. That will disappoint me as he should be coaching here.
I think there's a very small chance, but a chance, that Urban coaches the Buckeyes again if he gets himself back to a healthy state where he is managing his stress better. It would only happen if Day struggles in the next 3 - 5 years. It helps having him remain close to the program in his assistant athletic director role.
Let us all hope that Ryan Day really gets it.
He has the passing game at an all-time new level. But playing MSU or TTUN in November in the cold and rain is a different deal. You have to play slobber-knocker football. Woody started it, Ryan Day can continue on.
"We get paid to score touchdowns, not kick field goals"
-- Urban Meyer
Where was that passing game that's at an all time level in the second half ...as a matter of fact where was the whole offense at in the second half ???
Still looking for that game thread?
Our people are everywhere, Esto Dignus.
The one thing that seems to have been missing with Meyer's teams (except against ttun!) is a willingness to stay aggressive on offense when they got good leads against better teams. Would work in the past when they had a good defense to lean on but not this year.
Fell a sleep. Haskins started to sputter in the 2nd half. It only takes a few penalties and some inaccurate passes to stop the MO. That did happen. Defense did OK but had a test at the end.
"I think Alabama would beat Ohio State if they played next weekend!" Clay Travis Fox Sports Post Championship Show 1.12.2015. Needs no explanation.
As soon as gets up and finishes his cup of coffee, he needs to start going through his list of new coaches especially on the defensive side of the ball. I've seen too much of Schiano's and Davis's stupidity.
Agree in part. Davis needs to be replaced. However, I’m not sure Davis can be faulted for Borland running in slow motion. Wow it is painful to watch that guy run.
Coach Day really does a great job of praising others for their efforts and not himself. He will do fine.
Mark May is a mental midget
“When I needed you the most, you gave your very best.”
Sure isn’t talking about the OSU administration.
Did you notice Greg S. standing deep in the background not looking happy. It is a new Day, but it is still the goal of beating the rival.
Did we watch the same video? He looked very happy for Day.
Edit: No, you're right, this man look PIIIIIIIISSED!
I’m sure he wants his own gig, he should be at TN, he will move on in due time.
For all the uncomfortability that was the program at the start of the season, it all feels right at this moment.
I'll miss Urban, but the change feels healthy and I'm eager to see Ryan Day back at the helm in a much better atmosphere.
Hindsight is, and in, 2020
I agree. As more was revealed last month, Urban discussed how he tried to become a CEO in 2o15 (when headaches returned) and realized he couldn’t be as effective if he wasn’t emotionally vested. This resonated with me as we saw the inexplicable losses each of the last four seasons. I’ll be contrary and say that a new era has begun and a young energetic coaching wunderkind can take us to new levels, especially in this new era of the game.
The follow up video to the RD interview in this post is Chris Carter dissecting the state of the program. Very good take and encouraging. https://youtu.be/NCQPe-NMgpg
It's always a sad day when Buckeye season is over, but really looking forward to how the off season shapes. Which coaches are hired or fired and how that impacts the team next year. I am especially curious on the defensive side of the ball. Really hoping Grinch gets full control.
Let's go Bucks!
A historic chapter in OSU's history is now closed, and a new Day is dawning--can't wait to see what the new era brings...GO BUCKS!!!
