Cannot wait to see what he can be with some really good coaching.
Stay golden, Ponyboy.
Glad to hear that.
Hell yes. That’s good news. He was a vastly different player down the stretch.
I just got done saying that to myself. Dude was a baller last few games. Perfect trajectory to have a break out season and set himself up beautifully
You can feed a bobcat all the chili it wants. That don't mean it's going to crap out diamonds.
Great start to 2019!
BOOM - he played well towards the end of the season
Go get'em Cal Poppy - we are behind you !!
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.
this news is definitely a BOOM! kid was lights-out good down the stretch! here's hoping that he will be even better in 2019. equally important, providing that leadership for the squad as potentially one of the best players on the team and country!
He's definetly the best out of the mediocre LB group
"The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people. And so long as men die, liberty will never perish" - Charlie Chaplin
Or the best with a medocre coach
That’s a Boom!
Life long fan of... The!
Be the leader in a much improved LB room next year!
In the poll era (since 1936), OSU is by far the class of the B1G:
National Titles: OSU 8, UM 3
B1G Titles: OSU 33, UM 27
Head-to-head: OSU 42, UM 36
Major Bowls (New Year's Six): OSU 20-14, UM 10-16
His leadership will help with the younger guys
And he came on really strong late in the year when we were dying for some sign of life from the LBs.
Good news. Harrison will be a huge leader on and off of the field.
If he has confidence that he can get better next year, that must mean he knows that Davis is out.
OSUCOM 2008 Graduate. Go Bucks!
You know, I hadn’t thought of it that way but...what you say doesn’t NOT make sense :)
There’s too much logic in that for me to comprehend...I’ll just go with it...upvotes for everyone!
Boom! Now we need Fuller and K.J. Hill to return as well to be leaders and solidify their early round projections.
Pick up your feet, turn your corners square! And DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE!!!
On D we need all the secondary to come back.
Fuller would be nice.. he did not play well this year IMO.
Must mean Al Washington is coming
Big if true.
Hopefully we can get him.
If he plays every game next year like how he played in the Michigan game, I think he might be able to make that claim.
Great news for our defense. We need him to be a leader next year.
"I hate losing more than I like winning."- Chris Paul
Oh shit. We're going to have two Harrisons wreaking havoc together on defense next season. I love it.
I think Malik Harrison is one that did not get enough credit near the end of the season for some of the buckeyes success. I am glad to see that he is coming back. I think he will have a great senior season.
Glad to see this! Hopefully he can build on his strong play down the stretch and have a great senior season. It’s time to get back to playing dominant defense again in 2019!
Dispatch also reported Arnette is leaning toward leaving. That would be best for everyone because it is time that Wade and Okudah are the starting corners. Okudah has turned the corner and is ready.
Said it during the game, but Okudah and Wade will straight clown the QBs in the B1G next year. Especially if we have Fuller and White starting at safety. Folks, our defense might just be damn good next year.
We can't stop here; this is bat country...
That is the pure definition of addition by subtraction. Arnette may have been the worst DB the Buckeyes have had in a decade or more. He was a missed tackle and/or yellow flag waiting to happen on every pass play.
Anderson Russell would like a word with you on that...
Malik was the one player I was hoping would come back the most. I'd love to hear the same news on Jordan Fuller and K.J. Hill. Go Bucks!
Hi have Malik tied with Fuller for needing to return.
I think our d will have a ton of talent and can be one of the best in the country.
I have been one of the biggest fans of Okudah since we signed him. Today he really made the next step and I see a tremendous career in front of him. Our secondary could be flat-put nasty next year. And I really like our D line a lot as well. The tackles could be relentless and Cooper and the backup ends should improve a ton. I think Chase can too and go in the top side of the first round after a great season.
Defense should be a strength next year. We are set to return everyone in the front 7 apart from BB Landers, Dre'mont Jones and Dante Booker who really didn't play. There's plenty of depth at both positions. We might lose Arnette and Sheffield but everyone is going to be fine with Okudah and Wade being the 2 starters. I still think Jordan Fuller will come back for his senior season. If Day gets it right with his defensive coaching hires, we could have a dominant defense next season.
Unless I am mistake , I believe BB Landers will also be back next year, as a fifth year senior!
This is a great move for Malik and a good sign that some more guys could return.
Another big win! Great way to start the new year, and the new Day.
My aim, then, is to whip the Weasels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom. - William Tecumseh Sherman (with apologies)
Whew! Harrison not coming back could have dug a bigger hole in the linebackers corp. Hopefully, Mitchell and Browning step up next year replacing Borland and Werner. Werner could be inserted on 3rd down passing situations.
"We're going to give the ball to dumb-ass and grind meat"--Woody Hayes
I want more than anything to have Borland and Werner replaced as starting linebackers, but has a returning full time starter ever been replaced? Booker lost his spot because of injuries. I find it hard to believe they’re going to strip away a starting role from a captain, even if he doesn’t possess the talent necessary to be a starter.
This is definitely where I parked my car.
Would like to see the method for determining captains altered as well. It felt like we had too many and that it didn’t have much meaning.
Didn’t have ANY meaning to Nick Bosa.
Huge BOOOM! Plenty of potential for MH.
Bill Davis will have him coached up by spring...
An angry fan...rooting for an angry team...led by angry coaches
Bill Davis needs a “promotion” to George Mason University. The guy is a horrible coach and recruiter.
.....or James Madison University
Haha, this gave me a good laugh
Good man! Shot. out. of. a. cannon!
Come on Day, lose Bill Davis and Taver Johnson and get Harrison and the LBs and DBs elite coaches that can recruit and develop the talent they deserve!
Good, he was our best LB this season. Now it's time to go get better.
One man's trash, is another man's treasure
Are Werner and Borland gone? Someone please tell me we will have faster LBs next year
"I don't apologize for anything. When I make a mistake, I take the blame and go on from there." - Woody Hayes
Was fun watching how much of a freak athlete he was this year especially in the PSU game chasing down McSorley.
BOOM! I'm excited to see Malik return and continue his growth and development next year. Go Bucks!
Very good news. I am glad he will make us our best next season. He needs a position coach though. One Day at a time..... Perhaps by Friday that problem will find a solution.
He improved a lot over the course of the season and certainly was our best linebacker. This is good news.
Great news! Now just bring KJ Hill with him and we're ok.
AKA the Horseshoe, the Shoe, and the House That Harley Built
On behalf of this univeristy I'm sorry you had to be coached by Bill Davis. With your talent, I'm sure with 1 year under a competent coach you'll go far! Onto 2019!
Great news. We need him. Borland and Warner’s jobs should both be available for anyone to take. I don’t care if it’s a true freshman. We won’t be winning a natty with Borland at MLB. The guys is running in sand. We need guys who are game changers out there. Someone like Raekwon McMillan, or Devin Bush I hope Teradja Mitchell gets a good look in the spring. Sure he might make a few mistakes, but he can’t be worse than what’s out there now. What good does it do if Borland knows his assignment, and where he’s supposed to be, if you can’t actually get the assignment done?
. I think Werner has potential, but needs to get bigger and stronger. He gets swallowed up by OL all the time and can’t get off blocks.
When was Raekwon Millan ever a game changer?
Not sure if serious or not
Very. Not interested in the ‘but, he’s in the NFL’ argument.
It seemed that Malik just started to ignore poor coaching advice in the second half of the season and just decided "see ball, get ball" was the only instructions he needed. Overcoming the absolutely poor coaching of the linebackers and poor schemes that put linebackers 2 yards behind the line of scrimmage he became a one man wrecking ball. His talent overcame the negatives of the coaching, something his cohorts could not do. I am really glad he will be back.
Definitely good news, Harrison was solid for this defense all season...should be a rock for next.
Got M...igan gossip? Bang it here.
Excellent! Dude is an absoulute stud.
For all those people worried about recruiting stars. Harrison was 4th lowest rated recruit of the 2016 class as a 3 star with a rating of .85.
Fun stat our 3 starting linebackers ratings were.... .85(Harrison) .89(Borland) and .89(Werner)....they were backed up by guys with ratings of .99(Browning) .97(Booker) .98(Hilliard) .95(Jones). Something is wrong with this picture.
Yep. A lot of people thought Malik was a stretch and chalked him up for "depth" purposes.
I spent a lot of this year wishing we could have Harrison and Hilliard as our starting OLB. I think those two are studs.
I think Jalin Marshall going undrafted is a good example of not jumping the gun.
