Roses! Thanks, Urban. Undefeated seasons. National championship. Rose Bowl win.
I hate the offseason.
Amen, thanks to the players for sending him out a WINNER!
That better be a fat finger down vote.
But agree with every word. Thank you Urban, for everything you gave us.
The ugly truth is often downvoted
Keep football fun
I'm not around that much, running exhausted and lost...
Scarlet sunset! Nice work Barf.

Urban gave tOSU a plethora of trophies.
What was that about the second half?

Nice job NH - well done

It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.
First half: “how the hell did we ever lose a game?”
Second half: “how the hell did we only lose once?”

By the numbers: Huskies had more yardage-- 293 to 92 in the 2nd half, and 170 to 15 in the 4th quarter. Ouch!
After going up 28-3, I guess the Buckeyes went into run out the clock and prevent D.

will certain give the SECPN and naysayers more reasons to downplay the Buckeyes playoff worthiness. didn't help the B1G that Penn State loss to Kentucky. Kentucky!!
The Buckeyes earned the doubt.

We had no reason to be in the playoffs and after this game still dont.
That's right, that's right, we bad
Accurate and irrelevant. Next point.
Never place a bet on anything that can talk.
There was a hot-air balloonist who lost fuel and altitude, a victim to the winds, he finally crashed landed in a cow pasture. A man came running up to help, and the balloonist asked him, "Where am I?"
The helper replied, "You are in a cow pasture."
The balloonist asked him, "Are you an accountant?"
He responded, "Yes, how did you know?"
"What you said is totally accurate and absolutely meaningless."
(Regardless, I'm glad this team was not selected for the playoffs, but could show their stuff winning in the Rose Bowl.)
Excellent take. I pretty much stopped reading comments during the end of the season because fans have been falling all over themselves all year trying to come up with that perfect take about how terrible this 13-1 team has been. It gets tiresome being surrounded by genius. I agree that the team wasn't as good as Alabama or Clemson and was probably better than Georgia and to me at least, certainly better than Notre Dame, and while their famous failures were there and every game had moments of near and even real disaster, I've never been in favor of public hangings of a player for not being a world class linebacker or safety.
I agree that the team wasn't as good as Alabama or Clemson
the damn thing is, this team would play up to the level of band imho. Great underdog and more suited to compete with Bama than Clemson. Not saying better here, because better teams ein trap games. Just wanna be in record saying that I absolutely think this team would rise to the level in the cfp.
At least the Wildcat roster is OhioCentric.
Too much time spent at the North Heidelberg rather than the classroom. SSD 68-72
WTF man. That is not a good thing. Kentucky has been selling that shit about coming south and playing in the S-E-C. That talent used to go to UC and B1G teams. At least if they did that wouldn't be drinking the S-E-C kool-aid.
Aesculus excellentium cum MCMLXV.
Don't sweat it, NC. Kentucky won't be so high and mighty next year when their offense loses the only real thing it had (Benny Snell) and all those prize defensive guys (especially the DE) leave for the draft. They'll go back to being a very average team. You can try to sell that SEC shit all day long, but it only really works if you win. The really prize guys don't want to go to a school that is so basketball crazy that they'll spend their college days taking ass kickings. tOSU will always be the destination for Ohio kids, and after the season Fick had at UC this year, he'll be more of a player for these kids as well.
Those were the most painful 13 wins in awhile, but it was 13 wins and not 8 or 10 like Hairball usually does.
That was the entire problem with this team. They let down a little or lose some focus and then get out of sync. Happens both offensively and defensively.
First and goal at the five and Arch is getting the ball.
Exactly, defense had it tough the second half. what happened. And the Offensive line, what happened in the second half?
This is amazing.
This is definitely where I parked my car.
Geez Barf, you have outdone yourself with this one!! Wow!!!
This is the PERFECT
I love this. Thank you.

By God this is genius
Barf; you sir are fricken awesome!!!! Personally, I think they should recruit you to TOSU digital team.
The only hard day was yesterday
this is an all time great.
Not usually a Barf brown-noser, but this is the greatest gif I have ever seen.
Can someone tweet this at OSU Football?

How Firm Thy Friendship
Barf, you have always beenbloody, freakin’ Picasso with the gifs - these are in another universe great!!
Perfect way to send Urbs out.
You sir, are THE best. This is awesome
That's a Buckeye touchdown!
So are you saying that Urban went over to the dark side, but eventually redeemed himself?
2005-2010 he was on the dark side
This deserves more upvotes.
This is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen. God Bless you, sir. I actually got a little choked up when I saw it.
Round on the ends and "HI" in the middle. O-HI-O.
Oh my gosh. Freaking unreal, Barf!
83-9. Thank you, Urban.
Thank you Urban for everything
Better update that dry goods shirt, 11W!
If only the game had ended at half time.
Thank you for your service, Urban.
Happy to win a Rose Bowl, happy for back to back Big Ten titles. Here's looking forward to a bright future with Ryan Day!
That was about the most Urban Meyer game to end a season and a career.
Thanks for everything, coach.
Your turn, Mr. Day.
What a perfect encapsulation of the season in one game. Confusing team. Congrats though urban!
Might have been the worst half of the year, but a dub is a dub. Let the Ryan Day era begin.
Dominated close to 3/4 of the game. I’ll allow the sleep-walky 4th. Just wanna say thanks for everything.
Make preparations in advance. You never have trouble if you are prepared for it.
Who the f*** downvotes this post??
"We get paid to score touchdowns, not kick field goals"
-- Urban Meyer
The game was a perfect microcosm of the season. Frustrating but ultimately successful.
Thanks for the memories, Coach.
Varys: I've always hated the bells. They ring for horror, a dead king, a city under siege.
Tyrion: A wedding.
After everything, thank you Coach Meyer. Coach Day, it is your team now. Buckeyes forever!
What a great ending to a great season
Thank you Dwayne
i guess a win is a win. enjoy. savor. remember....now make changes on staff and roster. next year, may only the best players step onto the field.
Glad we won. But I hope Ryan Day never shuts down the attack like that again
Haskins would better served coming back
Stay golden, Ponyboy.
Thank you, Urban Meyer (and family)! Buckeye Nation will always love you, coach. 83-9, 7 wins over TTUN, a National Championship, and ending with Roses! Well done!
You win with people.
And so forth...
9 Units Strong!
Fowler said at the end of the game that "this Ohio State team didn't quite meet expectations this year." They lost one game. Fuck him and fuck ESPN's narrative.
The fourth quarter was terrible overall, and the offense in particular, but it is a Rose bowl win. Thanks coach Meyer.
They did not make the playoffs. If that was the expectation than it is true. It really depends on what they are saying expectations are.
I think most Buckeyes fans would agree this team never quite came together like it could have. Fair state, ent by Fowler.
This team definitely had holes, but I saw them get plugged a little at times. I think that next year's team could be better. Different though.
The lord of brevity.
We didn’t meet most of our fans expectations because we didn’t make the playoffs. We still had a great year. Both things can be true.
I think if the one loss had been at Penn State and we had smoked Purdue, we would have made the playoffs, but that is the way the cookie crumbles.
Something a homer would say. Fowler is right the team didn't meet expectations
I can’t stand Fowler as an announcer, but if you think about it, what he said is a accurate, and a HUGE statement about how elite tOSU has become: If we’re not competing for the National Championship, it kinda IS not meeting “expectations”... Meanwhile, tTUN has set THEIR expectations at 10-3 and MAYBE challenging for the B1G East once in a while.
You're absolutely right, it was a good season for Ohio State. We're not on the same level as Alabama and Clemson
So they DID meet expectations this year?????? Not that it's any of ESPN's business. Except that they are a sports network and can point such things out. I'm sure not going into next season hoping we can reach this years results ( unless the -1 is the National Championship Game).
Um, well that statement is not entirely false. I know it’s SOP to bash ESPN when they say something that isn’t entirely flattering to our beloved Buckeyes, but I agree with him. I think it’s a complement to insinuate that a program of our caliber has expectations to make the playoffs. Stop being so sensitive and enjoy the win...I’m sure Urban and the team are.
Just to reply to everyone above (which seem to be replying to my post above). After the result of the ND/Clempson game and Texas Tom's current effort against #5, I'd classify this season more as the CFP committee (and system in general) failed to meet my expectations. I will never use the word "fail" to describe what this group of 18-22 year olds did this season. Never.
2999, In the 4th quarter, the Huskies had 170 yards, the Buckeyes 15.
Also, okudah was a beast tonight. The future is very bright.
And Wade and White as well. And Young played a very good game. I can’t wait till Spring Ball.
Chase Young made some plays, but I at times question his motor. I see him quit at times. I hope he has a good off season in marrioti's dojo and comes back to have a stellar injury free junior season.
"Life is not about how hard you can hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. THATS HOW WINNING IS DONE!!" - Rocky Ballboa
And yes, BuckChuck5, I tho't I was the only one who saw Chase taking plays off in the 4th quarter. And he surrendered the edge on their TD run to the left.
But he had some great pressure on their QB.
Wade and White made some great plays, but Okudah was outstanding!
Agreed! Werner had a couple nice plays as well. Borland was still slow as molasses and exploited on plays to the edge, but let’s focus on the positives! We have some real players returning. I expect Tyreke Smith to take a big leap forward. Same with our young defensive tackles.
Here’s to Baron Browning securing that starting MLB job next year under our new LBs coach and D coordinator.
[Almost] Feels like a loss . . .
may be a fall in rankings.
Really disappointed that OSU stopped playing after 3 qtrs. Trying to “cruise” to victory.
Our honor defend, so we'll fight to the end !
maybe players were cruising to avoid any injuries, etc...but certainly not a good look. especially to outsiders (i.e. CFP committee members). yes, in the CFP era, the "eye test" matters.
in the CFP era, the "eye test" matters
To me, that "eye test" is just how many losses a team has.
Isn't the season over now?
Right? We won, season over, who cares about narrative. We write a new narrative next year.
The last 5 possessions (after OSU TD to go up 28-3), the OSU offense got only 23 yards combined. (Not counting the last possession in victory formation.)
And OSU D gave up 3 TD’s.
That’s a pretty bad 4th qtr.
That certainly did NOT resemble: "Our honor defend, so we'll fight to the end !"
Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah yeah
From great satisfaction to almost complete frustration to extreme appreciation.
What a ride.
Great season. Thank you Coach Meyer for 7 years of pure joy that you brought to us.
Enjoy your retirement. You’ve earned it.
I was expecting a blowout and it turned into a nail biter.
And all those who bet on the Bucks lost out big time $$ against the spread or taking the over.
Had a Dwayne Train 1st half, thank you DH.
Hope you & Little Bear are Top 5 picks.
Welcome aboard Coach Urcich !
Whew...dodged a husky hurricane in 2nd 15.
Congrats UFM...you OWNED the skunk weasels !
*You got Shelley her Calif. Roses for New Years !
**Urban Flip'n Meyer, forever in our hearts !
***Thanks for bring'n tOSU a Natty !
Thanks for 7 great seasons coach!
With all that happened at the beginning of the season for this team to win the Big Ten, blow out Michigan and win the Rose Bowl is very impressive!
It’s a little sad that the Urban Era is over but I’m glad the team sent him out with a great season and Rose Bowl win!
This is a very good point. It’s easy to lose site of context and how we even started this year. Can’t take for granted the amazing year we had!
Too true. Thank you Urban Meyer. And thank you Mike Drake.
know what sucks? no post game!!!!
"The future is bright at Ohio State." - Urban Meyer 1/1/15
There was a great post game on espn2. They announced it before switching over to the sugar bowl.
they did the trophy ceremony and showed a video in the jumbo tron of players saying g good by. Then they played the entire alma Mater tradition.
Thank you for everything, Urban.
Blessings to you and your family.
How firm thy friendship...
pretty much a view of season, we should have won by 3 TD's but eaked out a win, looking forward to some changes and thanks to Urban for a great ride
I thought I must have been watching two different games!
The first half unstoppable, the second half, hold on sloopy!
I know we won, but I feel like we lost!
13-1, defeated Michigan, B10 Champions, Rose Bowl win. That's a great season. Thanks coach hope all the best for your future and your family.
Nice season all in all.
But there have been some annoying issues here (discipline, failure to attend to details like running the play clock down, allowing clearly overmatched players to never feel job pressure) that were put on full display with the way the game ended.
The most "loud mouth, disrespect" poster on 11W.
Three hours of annoyance and me getting irritated as it's been like that all season except for the Michigan game. Ist half great and 2nd horrible, they took their foot off the gas and it almost cost them the game.
Cya Coach! Got beat 20-0 in his last quarter. Felt like 33% of his losses. Love ya but goodnight now.
Whoa How is this not a letdown? 42-3 was a legitimate possibility going in to the 4th.
Urban has been known on occasion to win games by "not losing". Today's Rose Bowl is a prime example. But I don't blame him for finding a way to not lose and finish his career with a win. He didn't need to keep the pedal down and... he didn't.
One change I'm looking forward to is playing more aggressive ball with the lead. Style Points Matter in College Football.
I agree. Urban was fabulous in so many ways and I am thankful. However... He was also very afraid of turnovers and therefore 90+ % of kicks were fair catches. That will get you zero kick return scores. We can improve simply by not being paranoid. Coach Day must clean all remaining messes. Schiano and Davis are liabilities and it killed us and kept us from the playoffs. Much to be thankful for but much room for improvement as well.
TOSU is great. Davis out!!!
Okudah is the future
I just wonder if the team, knowing it was Urban's last quarter, got rather sentimental and out of attack mode. It just looked like the wind was taken out of their sails for some reason. Oh, well. Like Urban says, a 1 point win is all that's necessary. Thanks, coach!
I wish they had carried Urban off. One of the all time greats. Thank you Coach Meyer.
Was thinking the same thing, but from Urban's body language at game's end, it seemed almost as if he'd told his guys not to do this. Just an observation, but it looked like it was not an option.
I will consider Meyer could be the GOAT. When did he turn into a standard coach who takes his foot off the gas? That isn’t Tressel ball if you don’t know.
Congratulations Buckeyes in a great season.
Average score difference per game, Tressel in 128 games: 14.9
Average score difference per game, Meyer in 95 games: 20.6
A difference, but not a huge one.
Tressel's lowest point differentials (68, 71, 93) came in three of his first four years. His largest came in his final season (318)
Meyer's lowest point differential was 172, in his first season.
I wouldn’t really say that we coasted to victory in the traditional sense, but the word is accurate. We literally put minimal effort in after 28-3. We had a chance to make a statement, and we did - we did not belong in the playoff.
In any case, great win, great season. Looking forward to next year.
Read my entire screen name....
After it got to 28-3 we had one first down; and Washington, an average at best offensive team, scored 3 times and had a fourth drive go over 50 yards.
The statement is "we're satisfied with 'just OK'."
I'm glad we won the game but the second half had Urban Meyer's conservative fingerprints all over it. Reminds me of last years Cotton Bowl game vs USC.
Thanks for everything though Coach Meyer! I'm glad you're going out on top.
Wasn't prepared for Urban to play Tressel ball in the 2nd half
Wasn't prepared for Urban to play Tressel ball in the 2nd half
Not really Tressel ball IMO. Tress would have run the ball all three downs to run time off the clock in those last few possessions.
Who won the MVP?
Haskins for Offense.
White for Defense.

Glad the game ended the way it did, would hate for people to think Greg Schiano deserves to be back next year
"The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people. And so long as men die, liberty will never perish" - Charlie Chaplin
How did this get DVed? I’m concerned that after the d performance all year that folks would want the same leaders in place on D.
Congrats Buckeyes, especially to the Seniors. 13-1 is a spectacular season.
Thanks, Coach Meyer, for the best seven years in Buckeye history. Best of luck in your next endeavor.
While I am delighted to send Urban out a winner the "D" reverted to their season norm and the "O" simply didn't show up in the 4th quarter. While I have confidence in Day he has his work cutout for him in year one. Hopefully he will address the need to improve coaching on the defensive side of the ball.
After the second half, I dont have near tge confidence in Day as I had prior to the start of the game.
The first PI call of the final WA drive was BS. The officials did what they could to screw OSU. That wasn’t a TD by WA. Trash.
But, we won. Thankfully. We played a good 48 min.
Have to love playing not to win in the second half. Not impressed.
Happy for Urban but what a crappy second half performance. It's a reminder why this team played in this game and not in the playoffs.
The Browns are no longer the worst franchise in all of professional sport.
Precisely this. We earned it.
We can't stop here; this is bat country...
A win is a win but sweet baby jesus. All year we run screen passes to wideouts/RB from time to time except in the final quarter of the last game with the defense blitzing everyone. Bitter taste for sure with that ending but fitting for a team with tremendous talent but a screw or two loose that held them back. 242 days until next year. O-H!
Thank you for everything Urban. That 2014 National Championship will be a memory I always carry with me.
Thank you, Coach Meyer. You'll go down as one of the best ever, but I hope we can now start to move forward and fix some of the issues weve clearly had for awhile now. But, this isn't the time or place. Thanks again, Coach Meyer. Excited for the future but will definitely miss seeing him pacing the Buckeye sideline.
For the record, if your foot is out, and you have the ball stretched to 1.5 foot line or do, that isn’t a TD.
I was bothered when they said SEC officials. I’ll take PAC 12, Big 12 or Big Ten. No ACC or SEC.
Thanks Urban. I’ve been spoiled these last 7 years. Appreciate what you’ve done for the Buckeyes!
Came for the halftime show - fell in love with game.
I hate to take attention away from the team's departing and beloved coach, but I'm reading comments that contain words and phrases such as "eye test," "committee," "not a good look,"
Like... guys, you know the season just ended, right? The beauty pageant is over.
Enjoy the win for like, five seconds. The only thing that will be remembered about this game is Ohio State winning it.
The beauty pageant never ends. 31-0 will be in the back of the committees mind for a while.
The committee made its decision already. The season is over. Enjoy the win.
And my memory is better than that. I'll remember the plays, the first runs by Weber, the balls knocked away by Okudah, the Huskies marching the field in the 4th, etc.
Defensive coaching changes are coming. All the talk has me convinced.
Felt a lot like USC last year. Get up big and coast home
Only difference is, the defense helped us get up big last year - and the defense was elite enough to hold the #3 overall pick in the NFL to 7pts - which gave us a dominant win in the Cotton Bowl. The rose bowl will look like we survived, as it sits in the record books. Only our generation will know we were up 28-3.
Thank You, Coach Meyer. Legends Never Die.
Any way to watch the post game presser? Is there one?
Let's Go BUCKEYES!!!!!
Coming up on ESPiN News, SC.
Guys, OSU got up big then took their foot of the gas, they did the exact same thing last year. Relax.
"Because I couldn't go for three"
QUESTION: Could someone tell me why our "O" did not drain the clock more in that 4th quarter? Why not instead of giving "W" more touches . . .especiaiy the way our "O" was playing at the time.
People focusing exclusively on what's wrong with our team after beating Michigan for the 7th straight year, winning the Big Ten for the 2nd straight year, winning the Rose Bowl, and finishing 13-1 will never cease to astound me.
Yes, they let off the gas in the 4th. It is what it is. Alabama did the same thing a few days ago. When teams are crushing other teams they can get complacent. It happens. It's okay. No, it's not great, but it certainly shouldn't be where your head is at right now after what this team accomplished this season - especially considering the shit show to start the season and losing Bosa. Smile, people.
"Let's beat the shit out of Michigan. Have a good night." - UFM
This is probably a good way to be. Good points.
"Khajiit has wares if you have the coin."
Yeah its why if my name was Urban I'd give the bird and ride of into the night. Alot of fans dont deserve him. We dominated when it counted. The only thing I feel is sometimes where to loyal to players. Prince, Pridgedton, D.Arnette, Borland, Werner just shouldnt be on the field.
Big differences between our game and Bama/Oklahoma:
1. Oklahoma has the best offense in college football; it was inevitable they would start to move the ball eventually.
2. Alabama scored twice in the fourth quarter.
3. It never got to the point where Oklahoma had the ball with a chance to make it a one-score game. After it got to 45-34, Alabama made the plays to run out the clock.
Mahalo, Buck Chuck, for sharing the facts of the matter!
4. Alabama is moving on and playing for the National Championship. BAM!
First off, I am happy we won and that's all that matters.
That said............ that game was a symbol of our season, never quite comfortable and drama that wasn't needed.
stat: last 5 possessions = osu 17 yds, wash 228 yds
(6th possession was killing last 45 sec of game)
For a child of the '70's winning the last three Rose Bowls we have played in is beyond huge! Way to go Bucks!!!!!
Thanks Coach! and thanks to this team for fighting through the adversity!
So for everyone saying this game proves we didn’t deserve to be in the playoffs, do you think Notre Dame deserved it? Oklahoma? To this point, Georgia?
It was a thrill to watch Kyler Murray against 'Bama. I think the Okies deserved to be in.
Still alot of self loathing for OSU on these boards. These kids got bored, plain and simple. There’s no way to explain it better. Washington blows. Their defense was so so. What we saw was basically a prevent offense and defense in the 2nd half. Meh. This team deserved to be in the playoffs, absolutely positively no question about it. Feasting on another hapless, hopelessly out gunned foe for the third straight year is not why kids come to Ohio State. Sure, we may not have won it all this year, but so will three teams that made it. We weren’t supposed to beat Alabama in 2014, but we did despite all the “long odds.” What is for absolute certain is that we would have fared just as good as ND, likely OK, and who knows, maybe we could even beat Alabama or Clemson. I’ve said it before, but putting us up against Georgia would have decided much more today and made the season feel more complete. But no, the powers that be protected Georgia and the SEC from a potentially myth shattering game by giving them a much less dangerous foe in Texas. They’re hiding behind the fig leaf of ancient bowl allegiances to explain it, but those days have been dead since the BCS took the Rose Bowl from the B10 and P12 champs. God Bless Urban and his family and for all they’ve done for OSU. Like the Tressels, they had to suffer at the hands of the lunatic ESPN led scandal mongers, always looking for blood and to take down OSU. Urban and Shelley didn’t deserve any of what they got this season, nor did our team, coaches, students, or anyone associated with OSU. I can’t believe how many times I’ve had to personally defend OSU and Meyer from mouth breathers accusing him (and me!) for supporting domestic abuse. Sick times we live in. God Bless the Meyers, the Buckeyes, and Buckeye Nation. And a sincere HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all. -Oldtown
Aside from the "W", which is why you play the game, the other positive from this game is that it certainly answered the question about OSU belonging in the top 4 and the playoffs. While I still think we're better than Notre Sham, I'm just not convinced we belong in the same category as the Clemson or Alabama's of the country with this team.
It was a very good season, considering all of the off season mayhem, losing Nick Bosa and dropping a massive turd at Purdue. Our back seven was so sporadic, it was incredibly nerve-wracking, every time our opponents had the ball. Offensively, we were very good, as were our special teams. I'm sorry, neither Tuf Borland, or Pete Warner are fast or strong enough to play linebacker at Ohio State, let alone start. The evidence is overwhelming on both of them (tonight was a prime example).
These are not the Silver Bullets that we know and the off-season should be spent working on getting back to that level of competitiveness - starting with the coaching staff on the defensive side of the ball. Coach Johnson is the only one who is safe .....
Well, I'd rather be 13 - 1, than 1 - 13 and I'm very happy that Urban retired on a winning note, as it should have been. Time to enjoy the win, then hit the recruiting trail hard (for both coaches and players). Go get 'em, Coach Day !!!!
Thank you, Coach. We will miss you on the sidelines

Thank you Coach Meyer and family! Enjoy the next phase of life, where you get to work around your golf schedule, not the other way around. We will remember you with love and respect, and hope that in ten years Ryan Day has us saying "Urban who??" And I know that's exactly how you'd want it!
Have to say Sheffield stepped up made some nice plays. Only reason I bring it up is I was critical of his play most of the season and have to give him his do.
18 Saturdays till kickoff
Good on you, Glass. If Fuller and Sheffield stay, with the emergence of Okudah, White, and Wade, the secondary will be very very legit next year.
I hope Borland improves and gets healthy but he is just a liability out there. Werner I think can be pretty good with experience.
I really should be happier about a Rose Bowl victory. But this was the most frustrating season that a 1 loss season could possibly be.
This game was the perfect example why they got left out of the playoffs. They created a lot of unnecessary drama for the fans. I was getting more and more pissed at the stupidity from the defense during the second half especially the 4th quarter. I was also alarmed by Day's inability to make adjustments to the Huskies defense. They had a chance to end the sesaon with a huge exclamation mark, but instead it was a deflating " hey at least we won". Sorry but champions don't play like that.
I took OSU -4.5 the day the spread was released. That 2 point conversion was just as nerve racking as the Maryland game.
Like Duffy Daugherty once said after a tie. “Felt like kissing your sister”. That’s what it felt like at the end of the game after the second half performance in the win. I shouldn’t feel that way after a 13-1 season but I feel like this team only played up to their potential in one game this year. I would have liked to have seen them totally focused in the CFP playoffs. It could have been 2014 all over again. Just my opinion.
Pain is Weakness Leaving the Body!!! USMC
Had it been the CFP playoff, I think the team would've played with a bit more focus in the 2nd half. It's great to get up early, but I think sometimes that shifts the mindset of the team too much.
I mean this game was kind of like last year's bowl game.
We build a lead and then kind of do nothing, only this time the other team made it a tad more interesting. Still, they won. Washington wasn't going to just roll over, they tried. It's over, we won. Good season. Great season. Can't win the natty every year and believe me I WANT to. Let's see what happens in the off-season with recruits and hires.
Weber was doing work Haskins got out dueled.... Washington made Halftime adjustments, we got conservative, second half especially in the fourth quarter the secondary got chewed up #1 #25 played lights out!!!!!!!!! Penalties penalties penalties
Yeah, I think OSU took 22 offensive snaps in the second half, not counting the two in victory formation. They had, I believe, five 3 and outs in a row... actually, one of those possessions was a 4 and out due to a UW penalty. It was a win, but holy cow, this was the most frustrating OSU team I can remember since the Cooper teams of the middle 90s. I have no clue what Ryan Day did in the second half, but I hope it was all Meyer just trying to hang on and go out with a W so he ordered them to play not to lose. That was an offensive shit show for that last 25 minutes of game time. Dominated the first half, got embarrassed in the second half... and it's not on the defense as I believe they were on the field for close to 50 snaps from the ten minute point of the 3rd qtr on. 13-1, B1G and Rose Bowl Champions, and a top 5 finish... but, for me, it was the most frustrating ride of the past two decades.

Day gave Haskins the business during the final 3-and-out when he came off the field. He wasn't very happy.
That last Husky touchdown was mystifying. Not that they would not have scored on the next snap, but I think the refs were getting told to make the game more interesting.
That was a mockery of the instant replay system.
Great win for the Bucks, but I don' think they "coasted" to a victory. I was a little white knuckled in the 2nd half when our offense couldn't produce a 1st down. UW helped the cause dropping pass after pass. Still a Rose Bowl 28-23 win feels fantastic!

I watched the game completely from skycam. Jordan was snapping erratically, which seemed to throw Haskins off.
The movement by the OL at this point in the season is inexcusable. There was one instance where it was on Haskins because he was audibling with about 3 left on field clock, but the rest are an abomination to the position. You can’t play for natties and have the OL squirming before the snap. They looked sloppy and goofy.
Also, for as much as there is talk about recruiting and looking at the type of LBs we’ve had at TheOSU since about the latter half of Cooper’s tenure, something extremely wrong happened for us to be left with this group that would, most likely, not start for a MAC team let alone for the Buckeyes. They literally look out of place. It has nothing to do with coaching, there is no attack in that group. We’ve never had, at least, one LB that wasn’t hell or high water. These guys might as well not be on the field. It’s such a glaring deficit that I’m not sure how it will be fixed by next year. No offense to the kids.
I AM grateful for the Meyer run, but somewhere along the line the ship needed some fixing that did not happen. And the damage happened prior to this year.
I think maybe the health issues were impacting Meyer more than what was obvious. So much so that some elements of the team feel by the wayside. I can’t explain the gaps any other way. The results just don’t match his demand for excellence and hatred of average.
We’re still blessed to have had such success.
If you die before you die, then you won't die when you die.

We just finished 13-1. Not bad for a MAC-level team.
Get a grip.

I said the LBs looked that way. And yeah, they're a gaping hole on the team. If you can't see this then you're not in tune with reality.
A win is a win.
We're currently 9-2 vs. Washington, 9-0 vs. Oregon. Enjoy it folks!!
The Huskies sold their entire defense against Haskins in the second half. They had no choice. I'm just glad we didn't f*** it up from there. After all, we have the best CFB punter in the country. Just don't f*** it up. Punt.
In any case, this win was what I expected. I live in Seattle and I have seen what the Huskies can bring to the table. It was a great win.
First time ever to win 13 im a season. (Won 14 twice.)
