I think I like this.
"It's always scotch-thirty on my island."
I know I like this
A lion sleeps in every man, dissatisfaction moves him, complacency keeps him asleep.
Ok, but I have to know, does he bring Mike Gundy's "I'm a man" mullet with him. Asking for a friend.
The lord of brevity.
I believe that this is a legitimate question that needs to be answered. Your "friend" gets it.
One thing that I did notice, immediately, in reading the Rittenburg piece, Mike Yurcich is a man! He's 43!
On paper, I love this.
Sure they're getting rich...On paper!
What I've liked about their offense is... They don't abandon the run. Side note... Damn you Gundy for going for 2
I think Mr. Fields likes this...
Tate is going to start next year. Fields will play if he comes here though.
Welcome back to Ohio, Mike!
Well, I'm game as long as we keep running the ball.
The future is bright at Ohio state.
*primarily with the RB's.
Urban Meyer >Jim Harbaugh for ever and ever, Amen. 0
If we land Justin Fields, I want him to run quite a bit. That's a future Vince Young/Cam Newton right there.
He steals laptops as well?!?
"Indecision may (or may not) be my downfall."
Tennessee tears are going to be glorious
Welcome to the real OSU. Hopefully his Ohio ties resonate with coaches and recruits alike in the great state. Just keep the offense clicking.
I hope I like this, but heard all the rumblings about him not being liked by the Ok St fans.
I've heard the same thing. Don't understand the downvotes for this but +1 for stating what you have heard.
They're all chickens. The rooster has sex with all of them.
Gonna be a great day!
Of course his passing offense has finished in the top ten the last four seasons. The Big 12 doesn't play defense!
We’ve known this was coming. Big question is does Wilson stay OC and he becomes CO-OC? And who will coach the defense? I’d expect a shake up
BOOM badda Boom!!! Great hire.
Fields of Dreams
Dam, couldn’t even wait until the Rose Bowl game was over to announce this. That’s some cold stuff right there.
Wonder if it was important to a certain QB transfer to know who the QB coach at Ohio State would be.
What's cold about the timing. He's not taking somebody's job he is filling the vacancy of day moving up???
Yes please. Always love an Ohio boy coming home.
I feel better about this knowing Day can still step in and help.
Didn't know he is a CUoP grad...
Hindsight is, and in, 2020
I was hoping for Lincoln Riley, but sure I'll take this guy
"porque las estirpes condenadas a cien años de soledad no tenían una segunda oportunidad sobre la tierra."
I'm liking what I am hearing - Day is off to a fast start
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.
Seattle Sounders 2019 MLS Champions
Sounds like a good addition from everything I've read since I first heard his name...yesterday.
Tailgate Fare Historical Archive
Once again, for as bright and stable the O staff appears to be, the D.....stay tuned
This further hints at the type of offense Day wants to run , ok state’s offense is not QB runner friendly
It's becomes obvious that Day doesn't plan on reverting back to the QB-run offense. Air raid it is.
I wont say Air Raid , I certainly see OSU pass 55% , run 45% , and the age of H-Back done as well as the age of RPO with the QB running over . I see our offense being more similar to Alabama & Clemson than Ohio St 2-3 seasons ago
Okie State's starting QB ran for over 400 yards this year and led the team in rushing TDs with 10
Sure Mason Rudolph hardly ran, but Taylor this year ran close to 10 times a game and back in 2013 his first year there their 2 QBs ran about 10 times a game for over 600 yards and 10 scores again
so depending on what he has just as Day said, he runs the QB when he has the right guy
That's not particular true. It just means they both more than likely want a tall, durable QB standing back there slinging it around. If it's Justin Fields back there, you'll still see QB runs. And you'll still see a lot of runs by the RB. We aren't going to switch to some air raid offense with 80%+ passes.
The r/CFB thread about him leaving was filled with ok state fans elated to finally be rid of him. That makes me nervous.
Ok states fans hated him because their QB sucked lol , they were blessed with last 3 QBs that they dont want to blame Gundy not recruiting good QBs
They had Rudolph at QB, Hill at RB, Washington at WR and like 4-5 other notable receivers. They were ranked in the top 10 last year for part of the season. The fact they couldn't do more with what they had should be on their D not their O
"I feel ready for whatever awaits me on the other side. I don’t fear adversity. I don’t fear the spotlight. I don’t fear success. And I don’t fear failure." - Braxton Miller
Holy shit. This is a great hire for day. I dont think there is going to be much of a drop off after Meyer leaves.
Snipe Yurcich from an SEC school and poach Washington from TTUN. Day’s ice cold.
You never lose to those pricks. Ever. Ever.
Yes he is....
Enjoying daily the back to back ttun beatdowns.
Ok St is Big 12, nevertheless great hire by Day
If Ann Arbor is a whore, what's Harbaugh for going back to her?
Yurcich had an offer from Tennessee (SEC).
Who's Washington? A coach Tsun is looking to get?
Al Washington is currently the scUM linebackers coach. Their linebackers were really good and Washington was the guy recruiting Zach Harrison to scUM. He's a great recruiter and is from Ohio, he'd be a big loss for them if he became our LB coach.
They could run at LB. Not necessarily about the LB coach unless he signed them.
Not to question our current OC play calling, but UW gives us 5 yards, making it 3rd and 2, and we run that?
JI row end 78
Oh yeah. This is significant for recruiting. Now you can tell an OL that we call tackle eligible plays. LOL....And TE’s are used a lot also.
Ohio State has deep pockets and good Ohio roots.
I wonder who's gone? Can only have so many coaches
corey Dennis was filling in as 10th coach on the recruiting trap but wasn’t ever named to be a part of the staff.
You're too stupid to have a good time. -Dalton
You had heard that Urban is retiring, right? So right there OSU goes from 10 coaches to 9, leaving a spot open, and especially at QB coach where Day was.
OSUCOM 2008 Graduate. Go Bucks!
BOOM! Go Bucks!
Great news. This is fabulous. Very glad to see this happen. Imagine the QB development with both him and Day working together. This should be appreciated by recruits as well.
If your WR are winning elite awards.... The passing is very good.
A quick peek into the Oklahoma State forums shows most fans want him gone despite a very prolific offense. Ok. State scores a lot of points and fans are still not happy. Only in college football.
gundy commented on this. He said something to the effect of its interesting the fans aren’t happy with him, yet hes had offers previously for better jobs, so maybe he knows what he’s doing.
Love the hire!! Now swoop in and get Washington from TTUN!!
He's no Walrus
Shandy is not beer
Keep that SOB at MSU, they deserve those 6 points.
Come on down, coach!
Our honor defend, so we'll fight to the end !
Offense will roll...by land and air!
That ain’t bad.
Round on the ends and "HI" in the middle. O-HI-O.
Thank you, Urban for the last 7 years! Great job!
Now, Mr. Day-please don't tell us Buckeye fans you have a lot of friends in the coaching business.
Those of us who lived through the Tressel years (time-wise and "feeling like heart attack-wise") want you to keep the pedal down, even if your opponent was a mentor.
One game I thought I could actually breathe in the 2nd half, DIDN'T HAPPEN, once again.
I am grateful the defense played well enough to win.
I hope Mr. Haskins learned tonight that NFL guys will be chasing after him all the time. Hope he is ready for that as well as the cash. Thank you, Dwayne, for a great season!
But, hey after watching Northwestern, I realize a team can make a big turn around in the 2nd half.
So, I AM THANKFUL THE BUCKS WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very nice, but how many stars does Yurcich have?
"If you're not changing, you're falling behind."
I recall the enthusiasm when Alex Grinch was hired last year. I'll wait for on field results.
I think Grinch was held back cause of Greg Schiano defensive scheme. Hopefully he is gone and we get a better DC on staff.
This hire hurts Martell I'm sure .
I have no idea if he is a good hire or a bad hire but if he was an OC in the Big 12 his ability to coach against good defenses is TBD.
If you are wondering how he went from Shippensburg for two years to Oklahoma State, it's exactly how you think Gundy would do it.
I hope Haskins stays!
