Cue the #Panic Brigade.

Bet you can't say "Bert Bielma is a bumbling buffoon" five times fast.
Paris Johnson, not Jackson Carman.
A 2020 kid? If this is the program for him, he’ll be here. Ryan Day has a lot of work to do - in all areas - between now and then. No worries.
This and Battle. Sigh.
"You are confined only by the walls you build yourself."
Upvote to offset unnecessary downvote. I don't agree with you, and kinda feel like, "This comment. Sigh." But disagreements aren't what voting is for.
Ignorance isn't bliss for the rest of us.
He has an entire year to decide. Somewhat odd he goes to Notre Dame this weekend though. Little early.
Maybe, Dwc, but it seems as if he might be going on visits this early to either confirm or invalidate his commitment to Ohio State, which will enable him to continue to recruit for OSU, should he come to the conclusion that Ohio State's program is the place for him despite Meyer leaving.
When I die, sprinkle my ashes over the 70's
Can’t fault him for doing his due diligence after the coaching change. At the end of the day he has to make the best decision for HIM. Im sure this will be a fairly common occurrence for our current commits and most will stay, but some will choose to go elsewhere. That’s the nature of the beast with recruiting.
I thought he was a true Buckeye. Perhaps not
Ha, what made you think he was a "true Buckeye"? He's still a Junior in HS and is not tied to the school, yet. As mentioned above the head coach to the school he committed to is retiring and we've yet to see what Day's program looms like or how the team's performance goes in his first year.
"Ha, what made you think he was a "true Buckeye"?"
He's committed to Ohio State, and was at like every game helping us recruit.. I'm just a bit surprised is all. But yes, I'm sure he will see the fruits of Day's loom and remain committed. I'm sure Day's program will loom quite well lol
And also, it's Slickity, not Slick. C'mon, Nor
I'm sure he will see the fruits of Day's loom
This is weird.
Don't worry it will be okay. We will recruit offensive guards and move them to play tackle.
I’d be surprised if he comes to Ohio State at this point. I understood his initial shock and disappointment but it seems now like Coach Day and the staff have not been able to fend off the initial shock. He will decommit soon.
That Johnson didn't immediately decommit after Meyer announced he was leaving, and especially after Meyer didn't bother to call the kid, the 2020 class linchpin and an Ohio 5 star, and forewarn him, is a good sign, imo
Sorry, but his actions say not committed.
Almost every recruit goes on visits after they commit. This is not uncommon. People are just panicking because Urban left
Also...Urban used to ENCOURAGE or commits to go in visits to ensure OSU was the right place for them.
Those who say they can and those who say they can't are both right. Which one are you?
Dont know about everybody else, but the sky's not falling at my house.
Success is fleeting. Ours has lasted a very long time since 2001. We are getting perilously close to losing it with one coaching change.
Day hasn't even coached 1 game as a full-time HC yet, and we're already doomed lmao. Give the guy atleast a season to prove himself before you claim the world is ending.
Hes 3-0 in my book.
Yes, but the roofs are starting to crumble at the WHAC.
Go join a team that plays a panzie schedule or stay and develop against elite talent at practice?
Notre Dame's schedule is better than ours and they develop offensive linemen better than we do.
Most places I’ve looked show us having the better SOS. Notre Dame has done a good job at developing offensive linemen though.
Notre Dame's schedule was a paper tiger. Teams like Stanford, VaTech, Florida State and USC all appear daunting on the schedule, but were all, in fact, weak programs this year. Not Notre Dame's fault, just the way the cards fell.
Also, how did they play against common opponents?
They barely escaped UM and NW, we obliterated them.
I’ve said the same thing, KBonay. As much as I hate ND, I do think they try to schedule strong.
Day needs to get a coaching staff assembled and quickly all this bs about evaluating everything after the bowl game is absolutely killing everything with recruiting. I honestly would not be surprised to see Johnson decommit and how often do kids decommit from a school and come back.
Agree completely. I am hoping he assembles a top-notch staff because there are glaring deficiencies.
Uhh, the last I read Urban is still the head coach until Jan 2nd. What changes to the current staff do you expect Day to make before then? I'm certain he's working on assembling his team, but that wont be effective or announced until the first week of January.
I’ve been reading eleven warriors by-laws for commenting and there is to be no common sense or facts applied while commenting on any coaching changes.
"The best in Ohio go to Ohio State"
Let's just assume/hope he sticks with his own thinking.
Our staff doesn't even think this, so I don't blame the kid for looking. But I do hope he stays a Buckeye.
Disagree. They go after the best. Maybe no the top 1 and 2 but I get what you're saying.
The coaching changes need to be made quick after the Rose bowl. Seems like there is no momentum in recruiting at all. Usually a new coach hire brings a lot of buzz and a bump in recruiting. I don't fault this kid for looking around because frankly it looks like he committed to Urban and not Stud's subpar coaching.
He already said he was going to take other visits while he continued to develop a relationship with Ryan Day. I think he will certainly give Day a chance to prove himself before he decides to go elsewhere. It's up to Day to reassure Paris, build a relationship with him and his family, and keep him locked in. In the end, I think that's exactly what will happen.
In my opinion, Paris is the most important current commit. Not only is he a 5* at a position of need, but he has a lot of pull with other recruits. Keep him in the fold and others will follow.
The sky has been falling here in central Fla - due to the storms moving through - not due to his trip to ND. He is already on the hook. If somebody else lands him, it is the Buckeye's fault for not reeling him in. I am confident Paris will remain a Buckeye!
I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.
My God a few of you need to step away from the damn ledge. I shudder to think this is grown men behind these screens acting this petty.
I have a feeling a few of them are fans of other teams trying to make our fans look bad and trying to get a response IE: Trolls
Day has proven that he is not a recruiter.
Actually he is regarded as a very good recruiter. He brought in Olave, Harry Miller, Jack Miller, Garrett Wilson, Baldwin, just to quickly name a few.
#bad take alert
He's responsible for Garrett Wilson, Harry Miller, Jack Miller, Dwan Mathis, Matthew Baldwin, and Chris Olave. He's been the best recruiter on staff over the past year. Battle wasn't coming here even if Urban stayed - he had been trending out of the class for months. Day has kept the bulk of the 2019 and 2020 classes in the wake of the retirement of one of the top 3 coaches in the country. You always lose a few recruits in a coaching change, but Day has mitigated the damage.
Stop confusing people with facts and names of five star players he recruited already.
Obviously a kid goes on a recruiting trip so we lost him and we should start our "Fire Ryan Day" threads now and assume we will go 1 and 11 for the next three years before he coaches a game or bring in his first recruiting class.
Ohio Staye will be Ohio State with or without Paris Johnson
But, but... I don't wanna be Ohio Staye. :(
Go see ‘em all if you like, kid. Just remember to come home.
st x has mostly been a minor league feeder school for nd. i realize we've had a few from there, but he may just be having second thoughts about that connection. i like him and want him playing in the shoe.
I dunno if I would call it "Urban Meyer's resignation". I would think we'd call it a retirement on an OSU site...
wish i knew where he was, i would throw my Buckeye gear on and hunt him down and tell him the truth about how crappy it is to live in South Bend, Indiana. And throw him an O-H
I dont often hate, but when I do...I hate _ichigan Wolverines. Stay victorious my friends.
The sky is falling!!! The sky is falling!!!
a hard rock miner from Butte, Montana
Cmon people...they get free merchandise on these trips, can hang out with friends. Who wouldn’t want a free Buckeye jacket and a ND beenie cap and a pair of socks that say Alabama and a jock strap with a big M on one side and 0-7 on the other
(note...I get 20% on all sales if they decide to sell the jockstraps at 11W store)
Correction, the Recruits can NOT receive anything from the school, otherwise it’s improper benefits.
You all do know Paris is still committed to OSU. I think Birm even had an update stating that he would still take visits as he gets to know Day better and make sure OSU is where he wants to be. He has every right and should make sure this is where he wants to come. He is a great kid with a great mom.
I would be more concerned if it were Boston College.
No coach has recruited in the demographically dying North as well as Urban Meyer. With the continued population shift to the southern states, it will be extremely difficult to maintain what Urban was able to accomplish on the recruiting trail.
When was the last time an Ohio 5 star recruit who committed to Ohio State flip his decision?
Similiar situation too right? Didn't Kalis flip to UM when tressel resigned?
Yep, like 10 minutes after reaffirming his commitment he was crying about not having to pay for the mistakes of others. We had to settle for Decker instead.
We didn't settle, Urban flipped him from ND ;)
It is time!!!!!
Was an interesting strategy by Meyer given OL Guru Jim Bollman didn’t deem him worthy of an offer
What does Kyle Kalis have to do with Paris Johnson?
It was the answer to his question troll
The same as mine was about position coaches leaving early asshole
Martin, deep breaths. In, out.
What in the hell is going on in this thread???
Fields of Dreams
I called him out so now he’s stalking me, it’s pretty flattering honestly
No one asked about that troll, you just wanted to point out that Drayton did that. Hence, why you’re a troll
You've been stalking me for a month now. Let the Mods take a look and you'll see who's right.
Am I the only one that thinks it's cheesy to wish a recruit's mom happy birthday on Twitter?
No, at least that’s my opinion
Urban probably called her. FSU needs to step up their game.
Yeah, but I think Twitter is cheesy, so it’s by association, inclusion, or whatever you want to c@ll it.
I don't get the feeling that this is one to worry about.
Whew! That’s Boom-worthy. Thanks Andrew.
I do think he'll take some more visits but from what I gather it will be tough to get him to sign elsewhere. He's actually somewhat close with Stud so we'll have to see how further coaching changes could shake things up.
Good news. We need him as the face of the 2020 class. He’s already done a great job recruiting other players in this class to come to OSU. Would hate to see that stop.
Man, I thought fans would at least give Day the first play as the head coach (without the interim rage) and he hasn’t even made it out of his first recruiting class lol. Classic
That bastard didn't sign any new 5-stars or tell us what he had done to beat TTUN on the day he was announced. He's on thin ice and better get it together fast!! /s
We need this guy to re affirm ASAP. He was an important cog as a recruiter for this 2020 class and also a beast.
