Awesome, and he was playing out of his natural position.
Success - it's what you do with what you've got. - Woody Hayes
Yep. I never once snapped the ball, and would never pretend it is simple.
It's not. Played it in HS and so glad we ran under center. Shotgun is much harder. I was a long snapper too and that was easier than shotgun for me since you can look at your target since you are untouchable at first
Have you ever seen a fierce animal who you were sure wouldn't bite? Because I haven't.
I was one of 2 TE with the Delaware Wing-T. So we blocked all day long. 20,21, trap left and right, 28,29 sweep left and right.
Maybe someone can explain this, are there certain media outlets that you look for when listing all Americans? So SI did theirs AA list, is there one that trumps all?
There are several AA list. I believe you must be on 5 different list to be considered consensus All-American
Feed the trolls
Edit. Looks like 3 for consensus
AA awards dont work that way. If you are an AA you are an AA. But you have to be AA for at least three outlets to be consensus. I am not sure if you need to be consensus to get a tree in Buckeye Grove though.

You only need one.
Wow. Three in a row. Unreal. Congrats to the big guy!
If you’re lucky enough to be a Buckeye you’re lucky enough.

Congratulations, young man!
You showed your Spirit!
Moving positions and mastering it over the season, is truly playing like a champion!
The only good thing about The Game is winning it - Urban Meyer
Wow. Awesome. Plant another tree.
Congrats to Mr. Jordan. All year long is seemed that the best thing to do would be to move him back over to guard but then he ends up an All American at center. Outstanding.
Can Ohio State call themselves Center U
I guess I thought he struggled more than that, he certainly improved over the course of the city, but shoot. The Sports Writers at SI > Me in this case. I hope he comes back and wins the Rimington next year! Good for him!
I agree, that he did struggle for the first half of the year, but he got better. I think all of us have forgotten about a ton of really ugly snaps from Elflein and Price just because they were all americans and our sense of them is that they were great. And they were. But Jordan's struggles with accuracy were not new to us. It is a hard damn job. If he sticks around for another year, he will be even better. And it will give Myers a chance to play guard at a high level for a year, and move on over to continue the tradition.
As he got more comfortable at Center, the offense hit its stride.
Congrats to him.
Gonna really need his skill and leadership next year. Let's hope he comes back. Not sure if he made AA as a frosh, but as a 2 or 3 time AA, he is NFL ready.
I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.
Here's the thing, if he comes back next year I would think he could go back to G with either Josh Meyers or Matthew Jones ready to take over at C. Then Jordan could really excel. And how cool would that be to earn AA honors at 2 positions?

After starting for three seasons I would be surprised if he came back, but we'll see.
Yeah. I should have put the "if" in all Caps.
Outstanding MJ, congratulations!
Not bad for a 6'7" Guard playing out of position. Not bad at all.

First team All American.
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke
Yea, I really thought he needs to move back to guard and let the new guy move up. All those low snaps will kill Tate Martell. He needs to be able to fake immediately, not a split second later.
Considering Tate is five inches shorter and than much closer to the ground than Haskins, shouldn’t low snaps actually be easier for him? While seeing and throwing over 6-7 linemen would be a lot harder?
Definitely improved over the season. Lots of low snaps in the first half of the year.
Nice work man. You are the tallest center since Shaq.
MJ's like..."wut? please don't pigeon hole me as an OC."
New Day for OSU. Same noon for TTUN.
Well, at least he wasn’t pridgeon holed...
MJ has been an asset for the team from day one.
This is actually hilarious because he was outright TERRIBLE at Center for about 6-7 games. He got better as the season went on, but if he's the best center in America then there shouldn't be a center drafted for like 5 rounds in the draft.
The kid will be great as a guard, but he WAS NOT GOOD at center. BETTER toward the end, but not good.
He often pulled and get knocked flat on his ass.
This is hilarious.
THe kid from Georgia is 10x the Center.
Brah: Wow, you really need to rewatch some games. He rarely made a mistake in the blocking schemes. Most times you thought he was out of position, he was making up for another lineman with the wrong assignment. As the signal caller, he knew where everybody should be, and when they weren't, he would do his best to fix it. Now, he did have a few errant snaps on the season, but I only seem to remember one that resulted in a lost fumble. Jordan was greatness, and for the life of me, can't figure out he was not 1st team B1G. You are a troll, and everybody here knows you are based on your constant anti OSU comments.
"When you're part of a team, you stand up for your teammates. Your loyalty is to them. You protect them through good and bad, because they'd do the same for you." Yogi Berra
He was fantastic at everything except for snapping.
Snapping is pretty important though.
When I walked in this morning and saw the flag was at half mast I thought, "Alright, another bureaucrat ate it." but then I saw it was Li'l Sebastian. Half mast is too high. Show some damn respect.
Kinda like posting.... in a forum, bruh^^^^
I don’t want to shit on the guy but I tend to agree with a lot of this. I might be old fashioned but I like my centers to be good at snapping the ball.
500 snaps and you wanna remember the bad ones.
Yeah, some of it is most likely splash from the last two centers. The first half of the year he was actually a concern and while he was serviceable it's difficult to imagine that there were not more skilled centers
Strange take on hilarity Brah.
Never place a bet on anything that can talk.
Brah, I have to agree with you, this was a shock, he did get better as the year went on but the best center in the country....I dont think so, I do hope he comes back though, get him back at guard of Myers is ready for center and you have the start to a really good interior line
^ best post ever ^
Yeah, All-American teams are usually more about name recognition than anything. You think these guys really sit down and evaluate interior line play and can narrow things down to enough to say "this is the best center in the country"? No. His 2nd team all-conference selection by the coaches that actually watched the film and played against him paints a more accurate picture.
Regardless, this is awesome for Jordan, and I think he comes back next season and has an even better year.
Took me a while to figure out why everyone was calling everyone brah
Ah now I see it! I just thought I was the old guy in the room and that was young guy talk.
He was not terrible.
Lets have a poll for "Brah's most anti-Buckeye/smartest comment this year. I vote for this
Brah, not sure he "gets it" unless he thinks an offense of our "caliber" is referring to a rather average offense.
Don't get me wrong, we can throw all day and crap opponents, but that's not getting the job done against Michigan.
Our offensive line needs to ZONE BLOCK and just PUSH THEM FORWARD. Let everyone else does the rest.
I'd take a win over Michigan by 1 followed by a loss to Alabama by 50. No joke.
This guy is definitely a big-time Buckeyes fan...
Great job Michael and Coach Stud!
I don't give a damn for the whole state of Xichigan.
This is um...an interesting choice.
SI named him a mid-season All American so clearly they didn’t see anything to change their opinion of him over the second half. Chase Young, on the other hand, was also a SI mid-season AA, largely based on his performance against PSU, but pretty much disappeared over the back half of the season.
I think that as time passes this season will be appreciated more and more, not just because of the retirement. All considered the season was a story that just hasn't got all of the right attention it deserves--maybe because we had that 2014-2015 fantasy. Many things stacked against the team before the season even started, but then filled with bounce-backs ... positive 180 reversals ... brilliant talent emerging to fill in holes and large voids--even Day's selection fits the narrative I like this team a lot.
Anyway, Jordan was flexible as he was steadfast, a principal part throughout. Well-deserved recognition.
Three in a row, wow!!
Great accomplishment, great run for OSU centers!!!
Beat everyone, in every sport, all the time!!!
Frigging great! Way to go MJ!’
The standard continues.
Sure, MJ made some early mistakes, but he's been mauling opponents ever since and has command of the offense.
Congratulations, big fella.
"We get paid to score touchdowns, not kick field goals"
-- Urban Meyer
Whats his draft status? I hope he comes back.
Michael Jordan has very quietly put together three terrific years at OSU. In hindsight, that's probably understandable considering MJ was good enough to start as a freshman. Go Bucks!
Blocking wise I thought he was great, struggled at times with snaps but outside of those errors he along with Munford were by far our most consistent lineman. Munford though had way more competition for AA honours. The two of them carried out line this year.
No way in hell he is an all American center. MAYBE he would be as a guard. Just goes to show those who are MAKING THIS SHIT UP clearly aren’t actually watching games. Compare his play to billy price’s last year. You know the truth
I always look for perspectives that take into account influence on teammates, especially on those in proximity and on game-week prep. Awards can reflect influences from sources much better positioned to judge than fans (not simply the media/group). Awards also can be 'political'--and totally so--like, I'm not holding any bag till Ryan Day is the B1G COTY no matter how many conference and national championships he wins for this school.
If they're Buckeyes, I'm happy for them, especially those from this team. A lot cr@p beyond their control went down, even before the season began.
I don't drink; maybe you do...How about giving the young BUCKEYE some praise instead of mouthing off that he is not. Whoever voted for him, for whatever reason, is obviously smarter than you are. How in the hell can you put the young BUCKEYE down? Grapeass...
Nitro putting the squeeze on Grape...I like it!
How about I’m entitled to my opinion. If you don’t like it, I don’t care.
He did a hell of a job considering they asked him to make the switch so late. That's a tough position for a guy his size and he helped Haskins break all those records!
Glad to see him get some recognition.
Congratulations to him, but it never seemed like his heart was into the position. Also, his consistently low snaps seemed to disrupt the rhythm of a lot of plays, costing Ohio State yardage in the process.
Right even to the last games. He had one against Michigan I think around the goal line where Haskins had to run it in. Could have been NW...
At the Oregon State opener/Player Walk, Michael's Grandfather saw my 10 year old son having trouble seeing over the adults in the crowd. Put his arm around my little dude and led him to the front of the line where he got to meet and get high fives from everyone. I thanked him many times and told him this was a 'life changing experience' and he nodded, smiled and tipped his cap to me. Outstanding family.
From that moment forward Mike has been our favorite player. Beyond ecstatic to see this honor for him!
Cool story. So on a scale of 1 to Gigantor, just how mountainous is he in person?
His dad and grandfather are huge like him.
Chase Young's dad tho...one of the biggest guys I've ever seen in person. If he wasn't an OL/DL he missed a big opportunity...
I wonder if we see him move back to guard if Meyers is ready
We are so spoiled. Keep this in mind, those of you calling for Stud's head.
