LSU began the season ranked No.5 in the country. It's still September and the Tigers are now unranked and in need of a new head coach and offensive coordinator.

According to multiple sources to The Advocate, Miles was fired this morning by the university and will be replaced by interim coach Ed Orgeron:

The decision to oust Cameron and Miles was made Sunday afternoon in a discussion involving LSU athletic director Joe Alleva, school president F. King Alexander and other university leaders.

The Advocate reported at 3 p.m. that leaders were entering deep discussions regarding Miles and Cameron’s futures and that an extensive evaluation, usually reserved for after the season, was unfolding in Baton Rouge.  

LSU President F. King Alexander nixed a plan in November to fire Miles at the end of last season, following a sudden and dramatic three-game losing streak, the program’s first since 1999.
