Darryl Baldwin, a defensive end from Solon, Ohio, has verbally committed to the Buckeyes today over offers from the likes of Notre Dame, Michigan State, Penn State, and Michigan, just to name a few.

Baldwin could end up playing tight end when he gets to Columbus, but at 6-6, 245, he is a welcome addition at either position. It's also nice to know Baldwin kept it classy, informing his four finalists (ND, OSU, MSU, and PSU) of his decision this morning and letting the media know quietly, rather than holding a press conference. Welcome to the Buckeye Family Darryl!

On a down note, Garrison Smith, a top defensive tackle recruit from Atlanta has decided to stay home and play for the Georgia Bulldogs. Smith announced for Mark Richt's Bulldogs at 7 p.m. tonight and he picked UGA over offers from OSU, Oklahoma, Alabama, Florida, Notre Dame, and other big time programs.
