This Week in Twitter is a look at some of the week’s best and most entertaining tweets from Buckeyeland and beyond.

During his three years at Ohio State, wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. certainly left his mark on the program. As the only Buckeye receiver to be named an All-American twice, and the first to win the Biletnikoff Award since Terry Glenn in 1995, Harrison elevated himself to the top tier of Ohio State’s deep collection of receiver talent. 

As Harrison heads to Arizona after being selected by the Cardinals with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Ohio State gave him a fitting send-off with an all-access look at his time with the Buckeyes. 

Speaking of Harrison, he has already left an impression on his new teammates and coaches after just a few days of rookie minicamp.

The deluxe cover for the highly-anticipated EA Sports College Football 2025 video game was unveiled on Friday, as the game’s return after an 11-year hiatus is right on the horizon.

Michigan running back Donovan Edwards is front-and-center on the new cover, standing alongside Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers and Colorado wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter.

Ohio State is represented by transfer running back Quinshon Judkins, making him the first Buckeye to appear on the cover of a college football video game since Eddie George in 1997.

This is also as good a time as any to remember one of the all-time great sports video game covers.

While Judkins made his video game cover debut this week, he was preoccupied with more important things. The Buckeye running back returned to his hometown of Pike Road, Alabama, to give back to the high school football program that helped develop him into one of college football’s best ball-carriers. 

On the ice, several Buckeyes have made waves during the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs while chasing the ultimate prize in professional hockey.

In Game 1 of their second-round series with the Florida Panthers, Boston Bruins rookie defenseman Mason Lohrei ripped in a go-ahead goal late in the second period. Playing for the Buckeyes from 2021-23, Lohrei’s first-career playoff goal lifted the Bruins to a 5-1 win in the series opener.

On Thursday, Vancouver Canucks forward Dakota Joshua — who played at Ohio State from 2015-19 — helped fuel a 5-4 comeback victory over the Edmonton Oilers, posting a goal and a pair of assists in the win.

Flipping over to the hardwood, Mike Conley is the only Buckeye left standing in the 2024 NBA Playoffs, with his Minnesota Timberwolves holding a 2-1 series lead over the defending champion Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Semifinal. After a blowout Game 3 loss, Conley imparted his team with some veteran wisdom as the Timberwolves hope to return to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2004.

On Friday, the Ohio State baseball program honored the legacy of former Buckeye pitcher Kyle Brown, who passed away suddenly last June, with Brown’s family on hand to throw out the game’s first pitch. 

Ohio State athletics hosted the 2024 Excellence Awards on Friday, which doubled as a celebration of retiring athletic director Gene Smith — who has served in the role since 2005.

And it’s safe to say, Smith is going to miss the Ohio State community as he drives off into the sunset.
