From what I saw and heard from the Walsh game, Lyle was very vocal. I was sitting on the court and he was shouting directions to teammates on and off the ball on every possession. I was impressed by how vocal he was and how he ran the offense. Thompson played with a little attitude in the post. He was a little inconsistent but looked the part of an aggressive BIG center. Only a one exhibition game but that is what I took away from the game. I think Lyle will be a good on court leader. Loving still looked "lazy". He had a great game but just doesn't seem to be totally in tune. I would expect Tate to be a leader as well but he didn't play.
No, that is typical for their exhibition game. I try to go every year and the crowds are about the same. Tickets are really cheap. I bought 6 seats in the second row from the floor for $13 each. The row of seats in front of me were mostly empty.
Does anyone know if he will be able to play against Walsh? Its only an exhibition game. I was looking forward to seeing him play Sunday.
I'm definitely a lurker. I only read on and off at work and don't want to get involved in long conversations over the internet. I love the articles and I really like to the insight into all Buckeye information especially recruiting details. But hey, I paid for my gold pants. Shouldn't I be allowed to lurk?
I hope some video is on the way. Cam looks like he has some serious air under him.
Note to BIG defenses: If you can see the number 15 on the back of Zeke's jersey, stop chasing him, your not going to catch him.
True about the foul trouble. I was thinking Funderburk would be more of a 4 man at 6' 9".
I don't think we lacked depth in the front court since 2012. We lacked talent. Amir Williams was just bad (and hard to watch) and Trey McDonald hustled his but off but wasn't much better. Two good to average big men is enough in the OSU scheme. I don't see Bell getting a lot of playing time this year or next year once Potter gets here. Bell will be the 4th big man off the bench.
I could see Bell transferring next year with Giddons and Thompson getting all the playing time this year and Potter coming in next year. Obviously haven't seen him play in a college game yet but he is supposedly a long term project.
I agree that 20% is low balling it. I would bet 100% of the +20% don't know they are bad fans.
Mickey Mitchell looks like he is 6' 3" in that photo??? Isn't he supposed to be 6' 7" and growing? I know its football season but I am pumped up to see the new basket bucks play.
Agreed. Just like the XBrax spin move TD. Zeke took two guys out - first to make a hole and then to keep it open from the back side. It was an incredible effort.
Weis was just as bad. 41 and 49 as a head coach. Always seem to shed the blame on his players. I hated listening to his post game interviews.
Since Zeke is a bone crushing blocker maybe we should start splitting him out to block for another back. He is still a threat to catch the ball so he would still demand the attention of the secondary. I doubt a linebacker could cover him for long. At the very least the H or wide receiver sitting out the play would take notice.
Don't forget that every team we play at least in the conference has very talented starters. Often we have close games at half time only to assert our depth advantage on the other teams. We simply wear them out to a point that they can't keep up. This is power football at its best. I try not to get nervous when we are in a close game at half time or early in the 3rd quarter. I know we are going to impose our will on the other team as the game goes on.
OSU 38, VT 13
So, any chance he can still win B1G Coach of year?
Seriously, any of our LB trios - 1, 2, & 3 -
could would start at most schools in the country. Fixed it for you!
I remember a day when he could do it. Not very well but he could do it.
Congrats Matt! Maybe you can learn to putt with two hands on the putter some time soon?
They should move the NFL draft to Columbus instead of New York. It will save the NFL a lot of travel expenses for filling the green room in the future.
It is the CBS Pre-Season All American list not E$PN. If they release one it will be littered with Bama and SEC players.
Florida State should also be considered. They might roll through the ACC. With TCU's and Baylor's weak schedules along with the lack of a true Big 12 champion, I have to believe the ACC gets in if their champ has no more than one loss.
Its good coaching strategy. No team will be dumb enough to kick it to him. Should be good field position from bad angled punts out of bounds.
