I was thinking the same thing about Trey Johnson. Wasn't he the kid that originally committed to Auburn?
That is perhaps one of the most disturbing facts.
And to your point, look at our O-line now...one of the best around!
Good question. How many?
I agree. I am not happy about the yards given up and the usual missed tackles, but you can tell those kids were playing hard. They had a some big plays and the game could have easily went either way.
On a positive note, as the article pointed out, Jamal Marcus looked pretty good. I think Armani Reeves played a pretty good game too!
After they were showing the usual "super fans" at the game last night, I got to wondering what happened to the Woody Hayes look alike? I am almost afraid to ask, but does he still attend the games? I got to thinking about him after the obvious Woody and Clemson connection.
And what a fantastic defense! I wonder what it would be like to have a defense like that again!
Tress being Tress!
Let's not forget about Earnest Byner!
Free speech or not, it's just creepy!
Interesting points...kudos...I forgot all about Jeremy Cash.
Not to be nit picky, but which two "College Football Blue Bloods" are you talking about? If you are including LSU, then I would have to disagree, but I understand your point. Sorry for the rant, but being stuck here in Arkansas and listening to the occasional LSU fan brag about their "tradition" drives me crazy!!! OSU, _ichigan, Bama, Texas, OU, Nebraska, and maybe a few others I am sure I am forgetting have "tradition". LSU has a good program thanks to Saban with Les somehow keeping it going.
I know it wasn't your point and I am a little off topic, and it wasn't directed at you, but I feel a little better now! (Back to my glass of beer now....)
I hate to see Luke getting so many negative comments thrown his way. I don't think I have seen an educated, unbiased assessment of our defense. I am as frustrated as the next person, but is it coaching, or personnel, or both? If it is coaching, then is it Fickell, Withers, Coombs, or someone else. I think having co-defensive coordinators is not the best idea to begin with. And how much did Heacock contribute this year?
I did see an opinion months ago about how we cannot measure defenses the same as we did in the past because of the changes in offense, the obvious change being the high powered spread offenses. To me that makes a little sense. You almost have to play a "bend, but don't break" style and hold them in the red zone.
Here's hoping we see the return of the Silver Bullets in the coming year! The recruiting is one reason to be hopeful.
This article really hit home for me. I share many of the same feelings. Deep down I was hoping we wouldn't play in the NCG, but I was looking forward to playing a PAC-12 team in the Rose Bowl. Now I would settle for an SEC team in a bowl game.
Exactly...well put. It was one of the other guys that put the words in his mouth. Besides, lighten up, enough will all the fake outrage!
I think the scout team could beat most teams in the B1G!
Slow down that backswing!
Agree...not bad at all...but not those FUGLY helmets!
Or just a different altenate?
I still don't understand why he took the Arkansas job, unless it was only about money. He has even less of a chance winning his conference at Arkansas. I have to admit he seems to be doing a decent job recruiting, but he is never going to get the defensive personnel and depth at the skilled positions to compete with Alabama, LSU, Florida, Georgia, etc.
