I think you'd have to rebalance the divisions if you went to that model. The problem is you'd probably have to put Sparty in the west to make it fair, which means there would be years we wouldn't play them. They're a great program and I'd prefer to have them on our schedule every year. JMO.

Big news. I'd love to beat Oregon at their best but I won't complain about any advantage.

Like the poster above said, he's the #2 recruit in the country... tough to blow up more than that.

He is a freak. I know we're recruiting him hard, hope he picks the good guys (but I'm not holding my breath.).

Gibson? That came out of left field.

Whoa... we have some optimists in the house today.

I'm cautiously optimistic about Hilliard, but I'm still not totally convinced we'll get him. Based on when he's making his decision, I'd say he'd be my pick, but far from a lock.

Cornell.... I guess we'll see. Lots of recent CBs to the good guys. Personally, I think Sweat is a pipe dream. I don't care if he's visiting tomorrow. I just don't like our odds.

Man I love this guy. Humble, thoughtful, and wise beyond his years... (Maybe he could advise ol' Marcely's Jones about his twitter posts now?)

I hope he tears it up this season and is a 1st round draft pick. He's one of those guys that you want to succeed because they do it the right way.

The real question is would an early commitment by Gibson really mean anything? I don't think so... he seems pretty fickle.

Banana-

They wait because Meyer is going after the best, regardless of state. For the top 150 guys, typically you have to be patient and it's a dogfight until the end for them. If they offered the Ohio and local guys, they'll commit and fill the spots up well before the elite guys make their decisions.

My guess is that the staff thinks they can offer late and make up ground quickly because these guys are Ohio players and most of them grew up fans of tOSU.
