I like the move of putting Tristan in the starting lineup. His tenacity and crazy-good rebounding are a catalyst for so much on this team. If someone can explain to me why LeBron just won't drive to the hoop when he's getting space, that would be awesome.
I think it's got to be Cleveland and Golden State in the Finals. Nobody in the East can stop the Cavs when they're on (though I think it'll go 7 with Atlanta in the ECF). Golden State is for real and I think it'll be a classic with San Antonio in the WCF. Although, if the Clips can play like they're capable of and take advantage of Splitter being injured, I think LA could top them in the first round.
My pick: Cleveland over the Splash Brothers in 7 games
Sterling Archer approves.
How is a team with the size of Kentucky this bad at defensive rebounding? They're talented as hell but good lord, Wisconsin is getting every loose ball
Anytime. I guess if you'd prefer a Wisconsin homercast, TruTV is always there for you haha
Then turn it to TBS. SMH.
What channel are you watching the game on?
Sam Dekker came to play! I'd be a much bigger fan of his if his lady friend didn't have a certain predilection towards a "university" of which we do not speak.
I've got a real good feeling about this game. I think we're looking at one that goes right down to the wire.
Although now that I've said that, I'm sure it'll end up as a blowout
Man, if only I had gotten to this one sooner before it swelled to 613 comments......
Anyway, I'm a 2014 graduate of a small Division III college with a degree in sports management and a year under my belt as a full-time sportswriter for a small newspaper here in the great state of Ohio.
I disagree. Each one of his steps in coaching has been an upwards move. He got his first head coaching job at San Diego, gave them great success and took an obvious step up to the Stanford job. He gave them great success too and got the Niners job. I understand he was only at each of those jobs 3-4 seasons but jeez, it would've been stupid for him not to take the opportunity.
Herbie's haters would rather see him be a huge Buckeye fan on the air than see him actually do his job well. Herbie being really damn good at his job looks a lot better for the university than Herbie being a shameless homer on the air
This. This right here. This site rails against ESPN and uses all the worn-out 'E-SEC-PN' bias quotes but if Herbstreit would just go off the rails and say dumbass homer things about OSU, we'd love it? GTFOH with that nonsense. You can't have it both ways. It does nobody, especially OSU fans and the university itself, any good if Herbstreit is a homer. Honestly, he's the best CFB color guy they have and a lot of that is because of him being impartial and seeing the whole picture.
The only reason I end up listening to Cowherd is because the other sports radio station I get transitioned from Fox Sports to ESPN Radio a few months back. To be fair, other than Dan Patrick in the morning, Cowherd's braying is a million times more tolerable then the morons FSR has on (ahem Petros Papadakis). That being said, if I have to hear one more social commentary on the Rust Belt and how he understands the world we live in on such a deeper level, I may jump off a bridge. SVP and Russillo by far have the best commentary on college football, the best guests and the least bias of any commentators. They will talk about the SEC more than other conferences but because the conference is good, not because they have some agenda to push.
The guy made 8 extra points in the game at essentially the same distance and shanked a 19-yard field goal. Unbelievable.
This Cal-Wazzu game had 2 kicks returned for TD's, the FBS record for passing yards in a game, 119 total points, 1371 yards passing, 10 passing TDs, 155 yards in penalties, four receivers over 100 yards and a 19 yard field goal shanked at the end. And it might not be the craziest game of the day.
College football, you sly minx. You keep drawing us back in.
According to a press release from Fox Sports' website, they have deals with the Pac-12, Big 12 and Conference USA. It's spread across Fox, Fox Sports 1 and their regional FCS affiliates. I know this site isn't the biggest fans of ESPN but thank God that OSU games aren't on FOX with all those god-awful announcers (except for Gus Johnson).
Can't answer it in 100% certainty, but I can't imagine that OSU would be on CBSSN for any other games. The only reason they are for this one is that Navy has a TV deal with CBSSN for their home games through 2017 and this one's considered a home game for them. The rest of them would presumably be on ABC/ESPN/ESPN2 or BTN.
I didn't say you were delusional (though I know a few Buckeye fans that are). You're totally entitled to your opinion. I just take issue with this idea that if a person doesn't think that OSU will win a certain game that they're any less of a Buckeye fan. It's not up to anyone else to decide what level of OSU fan somebody is.
This. I hate this. Just because you are realistic enough to see Ohio State potentially losing a game doesn't diminish your fanhood. Personally, I think OSU drops one, maaaaybe 2 games this year. Apparently I'm not worthy to call myself a fan because I'm realistic. There's a difference between support and delusion.
I couldn't stop looking at it either. That and when he said at 0:06 that "the Buckeyes are certainly contrite..."
I don't think he knows what the word contrite means.
Word to that! Luckily I still have a smattering of friends that legitimately enjoy playing, so usually at least two people will be around that know how.
Happy birthday from one Aug. 20 baby to another!
First of all, congratulations 11W! The work you guys do is incredible and we are all grateful for you for enabling our Buckeye addictions.
On another note, ELEVEN WARRIORS AND I HAVE THE SAME BIRTHDAY?!?!?!??!?
IS THIS REAL LIFE?!?!?!?!?
I agree with your overall point about it being a non-issue, but I feel like there was already an obvious reason Mike Mitchell went back to Texas.
