#2 in the AP, #1 in the coaches. When researching most box scores used the AP ranking, therefore I used the AP ranking. Too early in season for BCS rankings.
The Tragically Hip
and a newish band I'm really big on right now, Tauk.
Wouldn't wow me as a candidate but he's from Ohio and was OC at Nebraska which leads me to believe he has experience recruiting Texas.
In Urbs we trust.
Doesn't seem to work in today's NFL ... players nowadays would have never survived playing for guys like Ditka or Lombardi.
Although Belichick seems a bit of a curmudgeon, although he doesn't seem to be an in-the-face kind of guy, and we all know the success he's seen.
I agree with the thought that they hit their stride in year 3. If I had to venture a guess, with no quaterback experience to speak of, the first year offense will be simplified and rely heavily on the run with running backs Green, Smith, Isaac, and Johnson all on the roster. Will be interesting to see if he will use Morris, who will be a junior, or if he will turn to Wilton Speight, who will be a R-Fr, and can be developed over time. It would be a different story if Morris had been able to wrangle the job away from Gardner and this is why I think he turns to Speight.
I also think he goes back to the NFL at some point also ... and at 50 years of age, I think it happens within 5-6 years.
Thanks! Been wanting to write again for a while, glad you enjoyed it.
#1 Tre'Von Wade is a junior - fast and lean .... #40 Michael Warren is a sophomore - a little bit bigger than Wade (like 15-20 pounds) My nephew, who now plays at Central Michigan, played at CCHS. I still follow the team a little bit.
I grew up a Buckeye, in that state up north, which was always a challenge (especially during the 90s - thanks Coop!).
I went to school at Michigan State, so they're my second and forever second.
First thing I did when I moved in freshmen year (into Case Hall) was put up my Block 'O' flag.
The Nittany Lions looked abysmal against *ichigan last week and the Buckeye defense is definitely better than that of the TTUN.
I'm not worried at all.
Ohio State's student section would fill more than 1/2 of Byrd Stadium - Buckeyes - 1 Maryland - 0
Woke up this morning to find out Buckeye Cable in NW OH/SE MI (yes i live in tsun) finally has CBS Sports Network. Channel 586!
Same issue in SE Michigan/NW Ohio with Buckeye Cable ... kind of ironic that "Buckeye" cable won't have the game.
I'm likely heading to a bar to watch the game and foregoing our yearly party we throw on the first college football Saturday.
Make sure you're reading your Thursday feature Ross Fulton articles and start brushing up on your coaching skills friends!
In all of this I feel the worst for Bert's wife ....
The traditionalist in me worries when things like this start being talked about but after seeing these designs I am pretty excited for what this means for the future!
Fascinating insight and a great article, Ross. Thoroughly enjoy these opportunities to learn more about the game we all love so much.
I've been real high on this kid for some time now and I'm glad to see him have this type of performance and earn that Golden Ticket. I got to see him play quite a bit last season and still REALLY hope he gets that Buckeye offer.
I'd love to land this kid ... the visit really puts in a nice place in terms of our chances but I just don't see him coming to Columbus.
Call me crazy but with Braxton likely here another season, Jones behind him, and Barrett already on campus I am not opposed to the idea of getting Kizer from Toledo CCHS (if the ship hasn't already sailed and an offer actually happens). I know some think he's a project but the kid can ball and doesn't HAVE to see the field right away.
Obviously Allen is the top choice ... just my two cents on the QB situation.
It's simple, Dikembe Mutumbo blocked the completion of your post Johnny.
