Sarah's picture

Even though she was born and raised in Michigan, Sarah has been an Ohio State fan since birth. Her support for the basketball team started early, but it wasn't until Eddie George suited up for the Buckeyes that her sleeping football fanatic was finally awoken. Like her parents, Sarah is a graduate of The Ohio State University. She earned her degree in political science, which qualifies her to, every four years, explain to people what a superdelegate is. Despite an intense hatred for winter that grows stronger with every passing year, she has spent her entire life drifting back and forth between Ohio and Michigan. She can only assume it is the work of a supernatural force, and that one day, she will play a crucial role in a battle between good and evil that will take place near that Uncle Sam statue on US-23.

I used that same Kennedy/Lincoln link in my Skull Session today. Coincidence?!

Well, yes. (Ramzy can be Thomas Jefferson, who admitted Ohio to the Union. I'll be James Madison, since I'm the same height as he was.)

Oh, I definitely took it as a good-natured comment. Just wanted to be clear that I wasn't saying either Alabama or Ohio State making the title game was definitely going to happen.

Yeah, I know. My point wasn't that they win when they're underdogs, but rather they don't win national championships when the prevailing opinion is that they will. In that situation, they would do what's expected (win every game during the regular season) while also not being the favorite in the title game (which hasn't worked out for them yet).

It's far from a guarantee, which is why I noted "if things play out as forecasted — which, admittedly, is scarcely ever the case in college football." I certainly love the idea of Ohio State beating Alabama, though. It'd destroy so many narratives at once.

I don't even know if Gus knew what he was saying. The call is basically a Rorschach test. You hear what you want to hear.

Okay, I feel bad because after we recorded, I realized I misspoke when I said I'd never met Jeff and Chad, when I meant I'd never met Derek and Chad. I have met Jeff at E2B, so I'll revise my answer and pick him as the broad jump champion.

Seems like he does it now because it's Michigan's current shtick, not because he's being a troll like Brady Hoke or disrespecting Ohio State. He's always been pretty complimentary of Ohio State as far as I recall.

I'm digging The Americans, too. Even if you know what happens from a historical perspective (like Reagan getting shot), the show still makes it tense and suspenseful.

"Ron? I have a name. It's Dorothy. It's not Tootsie or Toots or Sweetie or Honey or Doll."

Yeah, I think it's pretty rude of the commercial to say you secretly hate people who bring a vegetable tray. I, personally, would welcome one and I'm not going to resent anyone bringing me free food, anyway.

True story, and to be honest, I'm not sure if I got it all out. Guess if my thumb becomes infected, I'll find out.

Obviously, some people got the joke, but there also seemed to be some confusion, so I was just clarifying for them that it wasn't a typo on Elika's part. Or, I suppose, it was a deliberate typo.
