I know everyone is tired of this story and I agree. I'm sick of hearing about it.

That said, I think the court and the commissioner came to the right conclusion. There are a whole host of boring legal reasons for the court, but I'm more interested in the commish.

-Brady (or someone in the Patriot's organization) intentionally and with knowledge, created an illegal advantage for his team. That's cheating.

-The league office inserts itself into a lot of discipline issues that are questionable. It is arguable that the NFL should not punish its players for off the field transgressions. It is NOT arguable that the league office has a duty to maintain competitive integrity. Cheating is absolutely the duty of the league office to investigate and punish. That's exactly what they did.

-Brady went to *ichigan and fuck them

@AwlinBrutus has a fair point that applies to 90% of student athletes. Most student athletes get a great deal. Even with football players; there are 85 scholarship players. I consider myself a fanatic, and I can name 20 players at most. Those nameless players are not the ones speaking out.

What I think is wrong is that some local car dealership can't throw JT Barrett a couple grand to smile on camera for their commercial. Or why he can't go to the mall one afternoon and sign autographs for $5 apiece.

The reality is, most schools cannot afford to pay athletes and college athletics as we know them would cease to exist if athletes were paid by the schools. But private companies can certainly pick up the slack.

Just my two cents.

I understand the sentiment here, but I strongly disagree. I have nothing but respect for defense attorneys. Our justice system requires that everyone be entitled to a competent defense. It is not an enviable position to defend someone whom you know in your heart of hearts is a murderer. It is not glorious work, but it is important work. Don't equate the actions of the lawyer with the actions of the client.

Go Bucks.

My team was lucky enough to play the OSU managers last year in IM Basketball. They played in the B league. They won our division (and beat us by 8pts). They were great shooters; you could tell they spent a lot of time in the gym putting up shots. Hazards of the trade I guess. They didn't do much besides shoot the 3, but when the shots are falling, you can't knock em for it. Plus they all looked fresh as hell with the officially licensed OSU gear.

Ohio State intramural basketball is the best IM competition in the country. The pickup basketball culture is STRONG. Go bucks.

Maybe micheal Jordan could suit up for the Cavs tonight. Put some warriors players on the FLOOR.

If it is determined to be as egregious an error as you think, they will be punished. They probably will not be assigned to a game of that magnitude again anytime soon.

What you're looking for is not justice, it is revenge. What did they do that was so awful they should be fined? The call, especially when seen through scarlet colored glasses, was probably incorrect. But I will not stand idly by while you spew ignorant internet hate just because our team ended up on the wrong side of one call, even if it was an important one.

They made a bad call. That does not make them bad people.

Give me a break CTBuckeye. They're just doing their jobs. College refs aren't paid that well. Take the win and shut your mouth about the officials.

You can attack the call, but don't attack the man.

As a longtime referee, this has always been a pet peeve of mine. It's easy to be an armchair critic.

I'm wondering how these numbers compare to other head coaches records after bye weeks. I imagine most teams play better after a bye. But how much better do urban meyer coached teams play vs. the average?

Always want some perspective when we see sweet stats.

Agree with underdog comment. Last season was stressful; we were focused on impressing voters, winning games by a huge margin.

This year, I don't give a damn if we win by 1 or 100. Put a tally in the W column and move on.

gut wrenching injury for Braxton. I can't imagine what he's going through right now. After all he's done for us, this injury is nothing short of tragic. Let's win for brax.

Couldn't agree more. At this point, 11W readers probably make up about 25% of the fans at Ohio Stadium on any given Saturday.

This community is special in that it keeps us well-informed (perhaps better informed than any other college football site), and perhaps more importantly, it takes a stand against trolls and bad fans. The 11W commentariat is among the harshest critics of OSU fans acting inappropriately. That absolutely makes an impact.

for example: tweeting at recruits. The 11W staff has (rightfully) taken a stand against this practice. Though it seems obvious to many of us, I have no doubt that it has caused people to think twice before sending that tweet.

keep on keeping on 11W. Buckeye nation needs you.

Love the article.

took exception to the comment about baseball broadcasts though. To me, baseball is the sport that translates worst to a tv broadcast. Gives you a great view of pitcher-batter duel, but there are so many more nuances that you miss out on by not being at the ballpark. Fielder adjustments, base running/leading, etc. are all lost on the screen. Just my two cents.

Tough position for drake. He tried to send a message: with the sexual assault problems on college campuses these days (osu is one of the schools listed as an offendor), this was  something he felt was in the long-term interest of the school.

now that he has acted, he can't renege. Especially not in his first few weeks of a new presidency.

disagree with the initial decision, but it's hard to back out now without looking weak. It's a shame that this is coming down to a power play
