I was very unhappy with the ticket process! The email from the athletic office to my student email went straight to spam, and by the time I found it, the window had closed.
It was probably my fault, but that'll be no consolation when I'm watching the buckeyes win from my living room.
If it is determined to be as egregious an error as you think, they will be punished. They probably will not be assigned to a game of that magnitude again anytime soon.
What you're looking for is not justice, it is revenge. What did they do that was so awful they should be fined? The call, especially when seen through scarlet colored glasses, was probably incorrect. But I will not stand idly by while you spew ignorant internet hate just because our team ended up on the wrong side of one call, even if it was an important one.
They made a bad call. That does not make them bad people.
Give me a break CTBuckeye. They're just doing their jobs. College refs aren't paid that well. Take the win and shut your mouth about the officials.
You can attack the call, but don't attack the man.
As a longtime referee, this has always been a pet peeve of mine. It's easy to be an armchair critic.
The weather will be weather! No guarantees for The Game. They'll be ready for anything.
I'm wondering how these numbers compare to other head coaches records after bye weeks. I imagine most teams play better after a bye. But how much better do urban meyer coached teams play vs. the average?
Always want some perspective when we see sweet stats.
Agree with underdog comment. Last season was stressful; we were focused on impressing voters, winning games by a huge margin.
This year, I don't give a damn if we win by 1 or 100. Put a tally in the W column and move on.
gut wrenching injury for Braxton. I can't imagine what he's going through right now. After all he's done for us, this injury is nothing short of tragic. Let's win for brax.
Couldn't agree more. At this point, 11W readers probably make up about 25% of the fans at Ohio Stadium on any given Saturday.
This community is special in that it keeps us well-informed (perhaps better informed than any other college football site), and perhaps more importantly, it takes a stand against trolls and bad fans. The 11W commentariat is among the harshest critics of OSU fans acting inappropriately. That absolutely makes an impact.
for example: tweeting at recruits. The 11W staff has (rightfully) taken a stand against this practice. Though it seems obvious to many of us, I have no doubt that it has caused people to think twice before sending that tweet.
keep on keeping on 11W. Buckeye nation needs you.
Love the article.
took exception to the comment about baseball broadcasts though. To me, baseball is the sport that translates worst to a tv broadcast. Gives you a great view of pitcher-batter duel, but there are so many more nuances that you miss out on by not being at the ballpark. Fielder adjustments, base running/leading, etc. are all lost on the screen. Just my two cents.
Tough position for drake. He tried to send a message: with the sexual assault problems on college campuses these days (osu is one of the schools listed as an offendor), this was something he felt was in the long-term interest of the school.
now that he has acted, he can't renege. Especially not in his first few weeks of a new presidency.
disagree with the initial decision, but it's hard to back out now without looking weak. It's a shame that this is coming down to a power play
So with seating now at 104k, I have a question. How is it that, even before these renovations, the shoe has been able to hold 106,000? Does the stadium do standing-room only tickets? How do those work? I know they include the players, staff, media, etc. but I still don't see how the number gets so high
heh. student-miners. Glad you're still around, DJ.
This. How many schools can claim to be in the football national title hunt until december, while also having a mens bball team in the top 3. The answer is ZERO. We're in a golden age of ohio state athletics. Can't wait to brag to my kids about how I was a student during this time.
That's just wrong. Overhyped teams don't win 24 games in a row. Period.
Predictable play calling. I get that running the ball is our bread and butter, but showe some creativity! Kept hoping for a speed option, or a trick play, or really anything that we hadn't already seen a dozen times in the game
Any shot at bama?
Reading this is just reaffirming a belief I've held all season. The B1G is vaulting back into national prominence. Michgan st will continue to be a good team. Penn state will be a good team once their sanctions are up. Purdue hired the right coach to bring them to relevancy. Northwestern will continue to be a factor. Wiscy will always be a upper middle range team. Even Minnesotas having a resurgence of sorts. And I have a feeling that Michigan is gonna turn the ship around too. Im sick of being disappointed with anything but a blowout win. I want the buckeyes to be tested week in and week out. If we beat a team by a touchdown, I want to be able to revel in victory, not worry about impressing voters. Having a strong big ten is the first step. #B1Gsolidarity
Edit: tl;dr watching the buckeyes is more fun when we play good teams. This week is fun.
I see it differently. Seems this girl might be a tough nut to crack. She wasn't impressed by the fact that he's a football player? Fair enough. Forget about her. Focus on the task at hand. Don't text her until January 8th. Maybe she'll be impressed by the fact that he's a football player with a ring.
Protip with NCAA: If you run four verticals, the inside slot receiver on the right side runs a post. If you throw it right as he makes the cut, he is open every single time. I used to play alot freshman year...braxton miller won four straight heismans as well as every game for all four years of college.
BTW: If herman takes a head coaching job next season, I will be applying for the OC position. You've seen tresselball, wait till you see "pconball"
hard to not like where this team is headed after arguably the toughest stretch of the season behind us. What my question for the 11w community is, how does OSU stack up with the rest of the country (namely, Bama)? Obviously our offense is top-class. But when I look to the defense, I see a lot of players who are developing, and who will need to continue to improve for us to beat the likes of Alabama. This question is aimed at the more well-rounded CFB fan; is the whole development argument true for the likes of Bama? What I mean is, when you read 11W, our fans are always looking to nitpick, which is only natural. But I've stayed mostly out of the national press, because frankly, most of it's not great, and we've been spoiled by 11W's outstanding coverage.
tl;dr The buckeyes are, in my mind, a team that is still a work in progress. Is that the case for the likes of Alabama?
