As someone who was exposed to semesters and quarters in college. I definitely prefer the quarter system. With semesters you have a heavier class load in a given semester compared to the courses you take in a quarter. But when it comes times for midterms and exams, the profs don't care that you are in 5-6 other courses, and you end up having everything due the same week.

Also, going on winter/spring break, you came back with a new slate of courses. Going on Spring Break, then coming back knowing there is only a few weeks of classes left, and having to retain all the info from prior is not a fun thing. Starting fresh after was the way to go.

Also, Spring Quarter... an extra month of nice weather on the Oval.

The only bad thing was competing for summer jobs with the semester kids.

Had the same thought during Sloopy, posted below.

I too was at the game... had great seats thanks to my friends dad. This was my 4th trip to AA (2005, 2007, 2009, 2011). This was the loudest I have heard their fans and the most energy I have seen. My complaint about the sound was how loud they amplified the band over the PA. Several times I had to verify they were actually playing by seeing the trombones moving, I coulnd't hear any sound from the band itself (though they were only a few sections over) and it sounded like they were just playing recordings over the loudspeakers.

When TBDBITL started playing Hang On Sloopy, the OSU fans were pretty loud, then the Michigan band started playing, and you could still hear TBDBITL for a second (I was on the opisite side of the field), until they turned up the PA volume... felt like cheating to me.
