The B1G always gets seeded up... we have three teams in the New Years day bowl games this year, so we are trotting out Nebraska vs. UCLA... that matchup is ridiculous.. its the equivalent of _ichigan playing Arizona State ...

I wouldnt want us out of the Fiesta Bowl, but imagine if we had ended up in the Citrus Bowl, slide everyone down one bowl and take out Minnesota... I think the matchups would be slightly more favorable...

Anyway, us, _ichigan, Indiana, Penn State (hopefully) and Northwestern (probably not though)...

They did try to stop it in the early 00's when I was in school, I don't remember how exactly, or that it was successful... I have no issue replacing this tradition with something along the lines of a student community involvement program, where they can challenge _ichgan in total volunteer hours or something...  similar to the blood drive idea...

It certainly wasn't the ideal time and place for those comments, but maybe that's why you shouldn't allow media access to college kids immediately following a game...  I am certainly willing to forgive him...  I would never question the effort and dedication this kid has given to our football program.

I don't agree with the theory that Cardale started because of the opponent.  I could be wrong, but I think Urban values the big play capability more than anything else, and Cardale certainly has that...

Glad you highlighted Tyquan Lewis, as outside of Braxton he was the player who impressed me the most.

Also, what was wrong with Vonn Bell.  Maybe just a bad game?

I think the reason why they are hesitant to allow instant eligibility is for fear of creating a free agency market for athletes to just begin transferring to the best school to try and win...  I'm sure there will be some cases of this, but I think they are grossly over exaggerating the likely instances.

No need to change the rules, all the NCAA needs to do here is become more lax on granting an eligibility exception.  Review each case and if they determine the primary reason is to win/lack of playing time, then don't grant the exception, any other reason, to be closer to family, home, not happy at school,  they should grant the exception...

What a great story, and great recognition for Grant..  I feel awful for often criticizing him for bad plays throughout his career, and calling for his benching on more than one occasion (even calling him a bust)...  I immediately noticed his play during the Alabama game (he was the only guy on our defense who could take down #27 alone), and even  mentioned it to friends towards the end of the game, how he finally came through in a big game.  Not only that, but after all the bad, I'll now remember him as being a key player in one the biggest wins in our programs history, as I know we will all continue to mention the Alabama game for years to come.

What a testament to determination..  Thanks for making me eat my words Curtis...

Kind of shocked they chose to wear those grass green uni's in the rose bowl, and not save them in case they ended up in the NC...  I assume they are wearing white now though so they can sell both color jerseys for both teams...

Looking at the Market Center hotels in Dallas, apparently the team is staying in that area.  Spoke with some friends who are familiar with the area, they recommended staying in Dallas as opposed to Arlington if you are going to be there more than one night...

Obviously disappointing to see him go, but surprising (and awesome) to see he will remain with us for the playoff!

If there is one thing Urban does well, it's recognize coaching talent, so we should have faith he will make a good hire to replace Tom.

I'm sure I'll get blasted for this, but its a post from yesterday so hopefully most won't see    These videos are becoming repetitive, same "epic" music track, same cheesy slogans, I think even the same Urban quotes every week...  I am not knocking the effort, the production value is amazing and its great work, but just a recommendation that maybe for next season, lets put some extra thought into the creative process and try to think outside the box...

Poor Curtis Grant, you can see he's trying hard out there, however he repeatedly fell for that same play action over and over, it became very frutrating watching it... The couple plays I saw Raekwon I was impressed, he does need to be rotated in on a regular basis..

This defense has talent, and huge playmaking ability, Bosa, Bell and specially Lee who is outstanding all game.. however they do not play well as a cohesive unit..

I think we may be looking at 8-4 this season..

Edit : by the way , the Go route was the right call in my opinion, first quarter the safeties were basically LBs, second quarter they only kept 1 high, in what seemed to be a cover 3..  They kept daring us to throw it out there.. Too bad we couldn't get a couple more to connect...

So this basically answers nothing... every position with a battle for the starting spot has not been resolved in time for the opener..  and Michael Bennet has not solidified his starting spot?  Did someone tell the AP All-American watch list??

Guess I completely missed when Bogard switched over to LB.. He was recruited as a corner right?

Interesting how the tradition of unheralded LBs becoming leaders/starters (Rolle, Laurinitis, Homan) seems to continue under Urban..

Yea my bad, I didn't mean to reference Apple as a true freshman, I was just assuming he would get time at nickel if reeves and grant are the starting CBs..  He did seem to have a knack for the ball, I think it's his size that I'm down on, he looked small to me, and the nickel back needs to be able make tackles on running plays out of spread offenses...

no idea on Worley...
