No need to be sorry! I think you might have just coined a new nickname. Like "Johnny Football", but "Erick Safety"!
Defensively, he said Chris Worley, Jerome Baker, Erick Safety, Malik Hooker and Cam Burrows need to be ready for next season.
Excited to see Erick Safety on the field next year.
This week has caused me to have nightmares about iPhone note screenshots
That Zeke block at 0:20 though
I agree with this, even though it kills me to say it. I don't believe MSU should be penalized for losing in a conference championship that OSU did not qualify for. They beat us straight up, in our house. Not to mention have 2 more top 25 wins than we do (Oregon and OSU).
These are rankings, not standings. Yes they would have two losses, but ranking OSU ahead of them would suggest MSU would have been better off not playing for a conference championship, which is every team's goal at the beginning of the season.
To your other point, if we had to have a loss, I'd rather it be to a very good Sparty than to VaTech or anyone else on the schedule.
Except if we had lost to VaTech or anyone else (besides Michigan) instead of a very good Sparty, we would be going to Indy this weekend for the B1G Championship game, and a much clearer path to the CFB Playoff.
I think MSU will show on Saturday that Iowa would have finished no better than 4th in the B1G East this year. Their best win is against Northwestern, who got absolutely dump-trucked my TTUN.
I don't see any way UNC makes it. They lost to a 3-8 South Carolina team and beat two FCS schools.
Another wrench to throw in your scenario. Iowa slips past Michigan St in a close game.
Clemson, Iowa, Oklahoma would be in. Gotta believe that 4th spot comes down to MSU and OSU...ugh.
Turned back on....I'm such a rebel.
If Stanford beats USC in the Pac-12 Champ game, I think they are a lock for the Rose Bowl. If USC wins, I don't think the Rose Bowl would take a 4 loss USC team over ND.
Agree it is a lose/lose situation. Much more can be gained by winning in Pasadena. Even a blowout win vs. Houston in Tempe would be a somewhat deflating/anti-climactic way to end this season.
I mostly agree, but just to play devil's advocate:
Would they take OSU over MSU if MSU loses to Iowa in a close game, even though MSU beat OSU? That would set a precedent that teams are punished for making it to their conference championship games (and losing) in favor of a team who did not.
I lived there for 2 years, and my one recommendation (if you like good barbecue, and who doesn't?) is to check out Black Dog in Urbana. Expect a wait, as I have never been there and not had to wait at least 15 minutes, but it is worth it. They just opened a new location in Champaign downtown as well, but I cannot personally vouch for that. You're welcome.
Current line is Buckeyes -23. Vegas thinks not. Me agrees.
Their home rivalry game vs. TTUN was their "Adrenaline/Play for Coach Kill" game. Night game in the Show will be a different animal.
ESPN has lost their way. They are overpaying for TV rights, and losing subscribers at an unprecedented rate. Not a great combination. They also just cut 300 jobs last week, and now this. I suppose they would rather focus their attention on the latest happenings of Khloe and Lamar, or extend the contracts of Skip Bayless & Stephen A. Smith than invest in a reputable extension of their site with excellent journalism and sportswriters with actual talent.
No doubt this move was a big "F*** You" to Bill Simmons.
