The usual local schools had been evaluating him for over two years and most never offered. It is what it is. Not someone that I would have expected OSU to "settle" for in June.
While we offered, we are technically no longer recruiting him since we are expecting our last DB commit for the class in a few days. Hunter has family in Ohio and he really does want to get out of the state he lives in.
If OSU offers you guys should have a good shot at him.
He wasn't on the spring game roster or something like that so that is what tipped it off and lead to the search.
He isn't really a fan. His dad played at Nebraska and one of the first schools this kid visited was Nebraska. We basically said thanks but no thanks to him. Never even ofered the legacy kid.
Ohio State can do better than this kid. Someone already mentioned he isn't all that athletic.
25% of the players drafted last night were came from out of the state of Florida. I don't know how that stacks up to previous years. You would expect more players from the south drafted than the north. We all know why so there is no reason to say it since we know it anyways.
Translation = Urban is pissed and had a coaches meeting to re-energize things since they will need to go after new targets like Jones, a QB out in Cali.
He is going to South Carolina. Ohio State offered Jackson out of Florida today.
Life is easier if you just deal with reality. It is a slow start. It is what it is. You guys will be fine in the end. Things will pick up.
As an outsider, your current class leads people to raising their eye brow and wonder why not more people committed, but we, as outsiders, know OSU will land studs as the recruiting cycle for 2015 continues to move forward.....it's just surprising not to see more commits. For those who follow recruiting they will mostly know why, but not many people actually know the details.
You guys will be fine. Just need to land a QB that can get the job done. That is the position you can't afford to miss on. Otherwise you end up being like Alabama and having to take other teams graduated rejects.
There are times when schools spike in recruiting when they bring in a new coach and then they fade away or the "big time" recruits do not pan out.
Consistent, steady recruiting is the best way to go and then build depth.
Yep. Teenagers do this stuff for attention. Like 50 schools are going to go after the same prospect with the same level of intensity...lol...lol.
No. We are actually laughing at it since we are not even recruiting him anymore.
We haven't recruited him in about 3 months now. His list has teams on it that are not even in contact with him anymore.
What the frick does he even have Nebraska on the list? Ran out of schools still recruiting him or something?
I have been posting around this neck of the woods for a couple of years now. I always bring an outsiders perspective. Nothing wrong with that. Heck, I can give you the chances of OSU landing the 2016 stud OT out of Arrowhead High School in WI if you want to know that info. lol.
I see so many OSU fans worried about the state of recruiting and I just want to tell them to shut the f' up....OSU will land studs and finish with a strong class. Just not a class filled with the first wants.
He is well worth an offer and should be a solid player for you guys.
So you know something big and secretive? lol..lol. If you know something big and illegal, why not send in the documented information and get them in trouble with the NCAA...lol.
As a complete outsider in all of this, things are not trending well for OSU right now with Gibson's recruitment. OSU has the coach and name to keep in the dog fight, but we all know how things go when a recruit doesn't visit your school after talking up your school when the recruit visits a ton of other schools on their "trip."
My advice, don't get worked up if you don't land Gibson. I would be more worried about not landing a true QB.
lol....you guys are seriously worried already? You guys are in the running for plenty of solid talent. You will land your prospects and finish in the top 2 in the conference (either you or PSU will finish first). So relax. Remember who your coach is.
Like another poster said, it is what they do and not what they say. We have had prospects before that said it was a dream..blah blah blah, to only commit to another school before even visiting. It happens to teams all around the country every cycle. That is why you always recruit several players and not put all of your eggs in one basket.
offer him or he will end up at KY....lol...lol.
Correction on Trai Mosley. He didn't have an offer until we offered and he committed to us. Those other offers came aftewards.
