Dad was born in Canton, OH. Moved to NC before I was born. Representing Buckeye Nation on Tobacco Road since '85.

  • SPORTS MOMENT: My best sports moment was getting to share my wife's first Buckeye game in 2011 against Wisconsin. The weekend got off to a rough start with my getting a speeding ticket in wonderful Meigs County, but quickly turned into something epic watching Braxton heave that bomb to Devin in the end zone. My wife finally understood what it was all about.

Check the COTA website. There are some inexpensive park and ride options available that take you to campus and drive you home for like...$5 or something like that.

Depends where you live, how close to the action you want to park I guess.

Used this option for the Wisconsin game in 2011, worked out great!

Always try to make this a habit, but always seem to be late, and then ditch out early to see the band enter the stadium. Gives me chills.

There are some good SRO options if there are no seats, but like Turd said above, there really isn't a bad seat in the house for this.

South side faces the band, correct me if I'm wrong, but the north side faces the team as they enter, talk, etc.

I received a Chromecast from my brother for Christmas this year. I have had an Apple TV for almost 3 years now and love it, but I only have one and have a TV in my bedroom that has broadcast cable, so I was excited to have a Chromecast for that room. Boy was I wrong. You have to stream stuff either from your phone of from your computer ONLY in order to watch anything on it. Other than a few things that I can stream from my Chrome browser, I have not been impressed.

I have been cable-less for the last 3 years, have Hulu and Netflix, and can catch up on most things that I need to watch. Apple TV is very good if you are already in the Apple family, and is good even if you are not.

Fantastic picture brother. I spent my whole life in North Carolina, save two years that I lived in Cleveland. North Carolina will always be my home, but there is a lure back to Ohio that I just can't shake for some reason.

Western NC is great. Was fortunate enough to graduate from Appalachian State (App State, and never Appy State), was there when they beat TTUN, and celebrated by depositing a goal post on the dean's lawn (the weekend after I got engaged). One thing is for sure, if there ever was an opportunity to move to Ohio, I would have to consider it.

Of course, that opportunity would come after the opportunity to move to New England, where my wife's family is from, and I think she calls dibs first over me.

If you hate the customer service of Comcast, then I have bad news. The customer service apocalypse is coming...everyone seems to forget about the Time Warner/Comcast merger.

Beat Portugal on Sunday and both the US and the Germans can rest their stars. Best case scenario IMO. I do not see us catching the Germans in goal differential, and so we would be playing the winner of Group H (probably Belgium)

Peter King had an interesting take on his Mock Draft for Sports Illustrated:

--  Trade the #4 to Atlanta for the #6 and another pick, and draft Mike Evans.

--  Luck into Bortles at #26 and get him

--  Move back into the 1st round by trading a pick or two to Seattle and draft Xavier Sua'Filo or whatever his last name is.

If that happens, I would be happy with the draft for the Browns.

The KG shot stuck out to me as well.  Gotta be the most popular backup quarterback ever.  Godspeed and good luck to Kenny.  We will miss you although we will always have your BBBBBBBBB gif.

Fixed it for you.

My sister-in-law should be happy re: the no illegal adultery law in New Hampshire. Although she has since moved to Maine, so maybe it no longer matters......

If Calipari jumps, what do you think the over/under on violations at Kentucky will be once he does go?

5? Too high or too low?

Some on this board would argue that Cincinnati is actually a part of Kentucky, and as such, the money would not be staying in the state.

When comparing the two devices, for me it was an easy choice. The Roku has better available apps, thanks to the availability of Amazon Prime, but with my wife demanding we buy an iMac for our desktop when all I really wanted was a good PC, it made the most sense to go with AppleTV for the user-friendly interfacing between our phones, the iMac, the iPad and the AppleTV all on the same network.

Whatever you do, do not waste the money on Chromecast. I got one as a Christmas present and am currently using it in my bedroom for my smaller TV, but you have to either stream everything from your computer using Google Chrome, or from your phone which ends your ability to do other things with your phone. I would not recommend that to anyone.

I have actually been doing this for the past two or three years. My wife and I got rid of our digital cable, and have Time Warner broadcast cable (Four networks and a few local channels; but I have an HD antenna that can pick up TBS, FoodTV, and a handful of other cable channels), Wi-Fi and an AppleTV. I think we pay $70.00/month for it (I have RR Turbo). We also have a monthly subscription to Hulu AND Netflix. Hulu allows us to watch shows we may otherwise miss during the season, Netflix allows us to play catch up. I have sources for a few other streaming options on the AppleTV, HBO and ESPN, so I can watch most live sports and the HBO content (GoT starts Sunday, so excited). I also can stream BTN2GO and NBCSports from my phone to my TV over my network.

All told I pay about $85/month for everything, and there is not much that I cannot watch. We usually watch the CBS shows live since they are not available on Hulu, and catch up on all the rest when we have time. Works great.

I voted against the Wright Brothers on the premise that just because they were born in Ohio doesn't mean that Ohio takes credit for flight. The first flight was done in my home state, North Carolina! North Carolina is, was, and forever will be, First in Flight!

***Ducks the volley of hatred coming my way***

Of course I fully recognize that the Wright Brothers and Ohio should get the majority of the credit for flight, but c'mon, without the beautiful sand dunes and steady winds of North Carolina, the flight never happens.

I can't vouch for Vermont, but New Hampshire's rest areas on the highways are liquor stores. In most states, you get a nice picnic area, maybe a little building with some vending machines, but not in New Hampshire. They have drive-thru liquor stores.

Live free or die!
