  • SPORTS MOMENT: My best sports moment was getting to share my wife's first Buckeye game in 2011 against Wisconsin. The weekend got off to a rough start with my getting a speeding ticket in wonderful Meigs County, but quickly turned into something epic watching Braxton heave that bomb to Devin in the end zone. My wife finally understood what it was all about.

I think the argument is that there should be no extra game at all.

How many "claimed" national titles so they have?

A good Virginia accent, particularly Tidewater, is pretty silky.

Had a high school math teacher from the Tidewater region...that accent, combined with her looks, caused me to not do great in Algebra II

A comparison to the NFL is this:

2007 Patriots were undefeated going into the Super Bowl...were the chosen ones. Until the Giants beat them.

It all matters. Regular season, playoffs, when you win, who you played, when you lost...

I do a mixture of CrossFit body weight exercises and running. Constantly try to mix things up and use found objects out in the open (rocks to add weight for squats or curls,;benches to use for incline/decline pushups/dips/step ups/box jumps, etc.). Workout with an all-mens group called F3 (www.f3nation.com) that is a great, as I don't like/feel motivated when working out on my own.

Haven't really lost weight, but have definitely changed my body type/shape, and am seeing vast differences in my cardio. I played soccer but was a goalie, so I never really ran. Decided in April that I wanted to run in a long-distance relay race (Blue Ridge Relay -- 209 miles through the Blue Ridge Mountains) and started training for that. Wasn't fast, but was able to complete my 15-mile (broken up over three different runs in 30 hours) leg.

Whatever you do, find a motivation to continue, whether for health, personal, or because somebody told you that you couldn't (me with running). I hate every minute of it, and I love every minute of it.

The big issue with it is more the racketeering and money laundering that occurred on United States soil. It isn't so much that Qatar and Russia got the World Cup, but rather how they got it.

Haven't really seen it either, but my initial thoughts are how his returning to school and complete his education, even with the call of the NFL, was an potentially powerful decision.

My wife is a Family and Consumer Science teacher in NC, and has a number of students, of all races, that think that education doesn't mean anything, and all they want to focus on is basketball, football, what have you so that they can be in the pros. She tries to pull positive role models to show that education is important and lasts longer than sports, and I think I may need to turn her on to his story for future reference. One thing she tries to focus on is the probability of making it professionally (very low), and here you have a young man who has decided that completing his education is more important to him than entering the draft, with no assurances that he will even be the starter next year.

These are the inferences that I make, but like I said, I haven't seen/heard anything about the interview so I can't speak to whether it is or isn't historical.

Have not been myself, but there is supposed to be a pretty big alumni group gathering in uptown Charlotte. Can't remember exactly where though. My dad lives in Charlotte and has told me about it. I think it is somewhere on Tryon...should be something about it online.

Was thinking the exact same thing (re: last year's highlights).

To me, every single one was from last year, and some featured players not even on the team anymore.

What gives? Were there no highlights from the team this year?
