And Coop wouldn't have recruited MoC
But we did have "Holy Buckeye" at the mighty Purdue.
Ok I want in on this sweet action. Let the beat down begin.
Don't hate the player... Hate the game.
Goodness folks how soon we forget. How many times did we have young talent with tressel. I can remember starting 3 freshmen on the offensive line and we still won. I can also remember reloading because when the score got out of hand we played the 2nd and 3rd stringers. They got playing time during a game not spring ball. So why doss Meyer leave the starters in when a game gets out of hand and not let the subs play to get experience. I think I can remember 1 game last year that the subs played substantially and that was FAMU. Truth be known I think we have all been a little skeptical.
Key to success, bring back the I formation and run Dave for 3 yards. Why do we have to be flashy just get hrrrr dun...
Agreed but one thing to add Herman put up all the records with Tressels recruits... Big difference
They can run it as long as they have good corners and the last time I checked their HC was our corners coach. They have better corners than us at this rate.
How come we don't run zone blitzes anymore, like VT did to us? We used to run them pretty effective under Bollman. I also enjoyed watching the D-ends drop back once in a while. The last play of the sugar bowl that never happened, was Thomas dropping back on a zone blitz to pick off mallet.
JT > Urbz
The difference between the 2 coaches is JT's defenses were always ready to play. Now it's just painful to watch. You could also almost guarantee they would hold teams below 30.
Nice one... lol
Can't up vote but +1 to you
We looked bad on both sides of the ball but when you play so aggressive on D that it puts you out of position that you can't make a play on the ball then we need to get back to basics. Coaching fundamentals... Play the angles and fill the gaps. Wrap up and tackle. Stop trying to lay the wood on every tackle and don't over pursue.
We weren't ranked in 2011 but before that you probably have to go back to 2004 and Zwicks first year.
MoC and Beanie were probably sick to their stomachs watching this debacle. Mo was probably asking how Lydel Ross was on the field for Eze E. Houston we have a problem...
DMAC I completely agree. They commented last night during the game that a Meyer coached team has only come from behind 2 times by being down 14 or more pts. Once at bowling green and the other at Utah.
It is plain and simple, speed is not everything. Urban can go out and recruit all the speed in the world and still not win. If you don't recruit football players, especially from Ohio it will be a rough ride every year. Tressel did both well. Recruited the crap out of Ohio and developed really good football players.
My list would have to be...
5. Tied - Beanie, Tim Spencer, El Guapo
I have to say LJ sr. Looks much better in scarlet and gray...
Well this just sucks...
