Shannon was good last year.  I don't think he was *really* good.  He definitely has shown flashes of the player he can be.  If he can consistently knock down an open jump shot and continue to be the defender and distributor that he was last year, then he can have that breakout year that we are all hoping for.

Also, the center can snap it "sideways" directly to the back or whoever is over there on the side.  There is no rule about snapping between the legs.  In high school, that was an automatic two points when teams would line up too many guys over the QB/C/RB and we'd snap it sideways and you have 8 on 4 for a 2 yard run.

OSU splits the guys out pretty wide, though, so that sideways snap is probably not an option.

I defy any BrBa fan to look at Kyle Rowland's Twitter pic and *not* think of Walter Jr.  Personally, I like to read Kyle's tweets and mentally finish them off with him saying, "Have an A1 day!"

Speaking of Breaking Bad and Eleven Warriors, is Kyle Rowland's new Twitter photo one of himself or of Walter, Jr.?  Am I the only one wondering this?

So racially he's pretty cool?

Comment 05 May 2011

Thats's funny because it's true.  I joked on another board that he might struggle in the NBA because he'll use the entire shot clock dribbling around to set up his move.

This comment doesn't make sense.  Big Ten officials aren't exclusive to the conference.  College basketball officials work multiple conferences, so officiating is the same all over.

For example, prior to last night's game, Jim Burr worked three straight Big East games.  I saw Ted Valentine working the SEC game that came on right before OSU-MSU.  Ed Hightower did BGSU-Akron last night.

To your other point, college basketball officiating isn't easy and they make mistakes.  I said they were fine because neither team gained an advantage and they didn't decide the outcome of the game.

The refs were fine.  There will be a few bad calls in every game.  Basketball has become a physical sport and is difficult to officiate.  I didn't like a few of the calls and non-calls, but overall they were no better or worse than most games.

Had he been properly educated that smoking dope was against the rules?  He probably should have been allowed to play in the Sugar Bowl since OSU's compliance dept. likely did a poor job of educating the young man.

1.  Is that a pool outside?  Sweet.

2.  Dude sitting by himself in the background is having entirely too much fun seeing as how he has no friends.  Beef O'Brady's must be really that awesome.

Is that former Michigan Wolverine Reed Baker?  And he's their stud?  Wow.  I'll bet Eddie Days is pretty pumped about getting a couple trill tonight.

A 3 loss Alabama team would not come close to making a 16 team playoff, so that is a strawman.

16 team playoff thsi year would work like this:

Conference champs x 11

PAC 10 - Oregon, SEC- Auburn, B1G 10 - Wisonsin, Big 12 - Oklahoma, Big East - UConn, ACC - Va Tech, Mtn West - TCU, WAC - Boise State, MAC - Miami, Conference USA - UCF, Sun Belt - FIU

5 at large teams - use the BCS to select them(Stanford, Ohio State, Arkansas and Pick 2 more from:  MSU/LSU/Missouri/Okla St./Nevada*)

* Note that a 3 loss Alabama team is ranked lower in the BCS than all of these teams and would not be eligible.

I'm not saying that system would be awesome, but it would not diminish the regular season as much as many say.

Interesting stat (since most everyone is going with the JoePa comparisons):

Hayden Fry is 3 years younger than JoePa.  He retired 12 years ago at age 69.  And everyone thought he was really old when he retired!  He could have coached another generation if Iowa kids if he had any heart him.

"Bobby Bowden told me that if you do this 'tomahawk chop' thing on national TV, then Brett Favre will send you a picture of his penis."

Comment 13 Nov 2010

Absolutely.  The only bad thing about those pick 6's were that he didn't get decleated during the return.  What a douche that guy is.
