OK guys, I get it, Clay Travis is a doucher. But I do find glorious stuff like this on his blog.... ( I linked a diff site so you guys don't have to click his website)

I guess I need to show up and collect my downvotes....
In all fairness, the anon mailbag typically has nothing to do with sports, just outrageous stories that people write in. Living in SEC country (Nashville) its always important to stay informed on what these other delusional fan bases think of us.
Is it Monday yet?
Flowers die, don't spend 7K on them unless you are rich... On a side note, I'm getting married in Cbus next month and I think our flowers were around $1500 (?)... we are doing bouquets, boutineres, corsages and flowers on half the tables, pedals and lanterns on the other half.
Cheers on getting married before football season starts... I was not so lucky, my ceremony will be taking place halfway thru the Northern Illinois game.. at least hopefully we won't have to sweat this one out.
I'm in Nashville too. It feels like the bama fans here outnumber the UT/Vandy fans. Maybe they are just more obnoxious and loud.
Conference cheerleading is dumb... All I had to do is log on facebook after Wisconsin beat UK and wanted to vomit when I saw "#B1G" plastered all over my feed. It's like we're trying to take credit for Wisconsin's accomplishment. I was more pleased to see UK lose, not Wisky win. Fast forward to title game, everyone wanted to see the B1G win both major championships.... I guess the B1G hasn't won since 2000 so it would be nice to get a title at some point, but I'm not going to actively pull for a B1G team (other than the Basketbucks) to do it.
My favorite line of the article: "Conference pride started as southern bullshit and then infected the rest of the country via ESPN bullshit and lucrative television contract bullshit."
We have 0 chance with them not on the court if the opposing team has any bigs. I agree it is tough to watch the offense when our big men can't make ANY contributions. The only thing they are good for are setting screens at the top of the key.
I don't get too wound up. This is an average NCAA tourney team. I've seen it all season. If we could just get it together and not go on long droughts we should be able to win a game or two.
One thing I did notice yesterday was how poorly Loving played. He is so lazy on defense and missed two front ends of one and ones. Just an observation, I'd rather see Bates Diop or Kam Williams in there.
We've had some fun teams to watch in the past decade... and yes, it would be nice to get a championship. We matchup HORRIBLY vs Wisconsin, they have bigs and shooters. Its kind of hard to play defense when they get seemingly every offensive rebound and make us play defense for 2 mins. There is a reason they are ranked as highly as they are.
Lets hope for some better matchups in the tourney, so we can win a few games. We all want a championship, but we have to realistic expectations. I started college in 2003 and remember watching the basketbucks go 14-16 or something terrible.... look what Thad as built since. All I was trying to say with my initial post is that things could be worse. The sky is not falling. I love watching buckeye basketball, win or lose. It just bothers me when our fans are constantly ripping players (ie Amir), when most of us don't understand the work the players put in, or the strategies involved in the game of basketball.
Everyone is so negative. We can't go to the final four every year. Lets be real here, we weren't expected to be a final four team this year. We've been so spoiled in football and basketball. Just sit back and root for the team. The team has shown some promise at times so everyone should just relax. Can't win a championship every year...
Wisconsin is very good, and we had tons of matchup nightmares. Yes, it sucks to lose like that but bottom line is its a loss.
If we win one game in the tourney this year, we made it further than last year. This team was never supposed to be anything amazing. They have been fun to watch at times, and I support them no matter what. Go Bucks, lets make a run in the B1G and NCAA tourney.
I graduated in winter of 2008... I used to enjoy going to McFaddens... not sure why they left but I guess they have been closed down for a few years. I also enjoy Eddie George's when I'm back in town. Oddly enough, they never card me there when I'm there on a non game day drinking beer. Guess I'm getting old.
I'm in Nashville, the SEC cheerleading is big here. I feel like I'm trapped in a melting pot of SEC teams... Bama, UT, LSU, UK, OLE Miss, South Carolina fans are everywhere and annoying. Notice I didn't mention Vandy fans... they aren't obnoxious like the rest of the SEC fans.
Needless to say, I needed this bad. Especially after last bowl season. I've got my National Championship towel from the game hanging proudly in my cube, and walk around the office with a Buckeye Tervis Tumbler. The win has silenced the hate, and there has been little trash talk since.
Although there is one MTSU Alum/Florida Fan that always says I'm reading propaganda when I'm reading eleven warriors...
everyone out here seems to latch on to some random SEC team, even if they didn't go to school there. Everyone that went to Tennessee Tech seems to pull for bama or UT.
Fanatics.com is my go to for buckeye gear. No tax for me in TN and I've got shoprunner which makes it even sweeter. I do enjoy going to Buckeye Corner's B&M store when I'm in Cbus. Their selection can't be beat.
I've had no issues with my fanatics order. I get 2 days shipping with shoprunner too. I ordered the Nike Undisputed Champs Sweatshirt and it came last Tuesday. I ordered a Large and needed an XL. Reordered an XL on Tuesday and it arrived on Saturday. Biggest plus for me on fanatics is no tax to ship to Nashville.
Also got my Diamond Quest Jersey after the sugar bowl on Fanatics, which now seems to be a rare collectors item.
I was satisfied with the service from Fanatics.
Wish I lived in Cbus or I would go to some matches. Watched Blaz Rola play the Aussie Open. Nice to see buckeyes reppin in the sport
Florida game stings the most for me. Won the student lottery and drove to Indy to take a red eye to Arizona. After a weekend of talking smack and mocking "SEC Speed", we were put in our place. Even worse, the guys we were with decided to paint their faces, so I had my face painted (peer pressure). I will never ever paint my face for any game ever again. I felt like the biggest A hole after the game. How depressing.
Thad has spoiled us since he's been in town. We're expected to be at the top of the big ten and compete in the tournament every year. Ohio State does not have the prestige of teams like Kentucky, Duke, UNC but still manages to bring in great recruiting classes and perform year in and year out. Everyone is quick to criticize when things don't go well. This is because we've been spoiled and with success comes higher expectations. We as fans just need to sit back and enjoy the game and not get too worked up when we lose.
I'm not pleased with Amir's play but honestly think we will be destroyed inside without him in there. Lee and McDonald are incredibly undersized. We'll have trouble down the stretch without Amir in there. I've posted before and I'll say it again, hopefully this benching gets Amir focused and he'll take advantage of another shot.
OP is so emo. ha ha
Nuernberger's appearance reminds of Sebastian Janikowski. Listed at 6'1" 230...add on the freshman 15 and he's probably closer to Janikowski's 6'1 258 lbs.
You listed two great reasons to hate them... Bellicheat and Brady. The QB and the Coach are the face of the franchise, and they are viewed as cheaters and crybabies. The whole spygate thing and cocky persona of the team is another reason.... but ultimately the greatest contributing factor is their success on the field. There is no reason to hate a bad team. I hated the Patriots since Brady/Belchick. I didn't really care back in the day when they had Bledsoe.
It's similar to the hate for Urban Meyer and Ohio State. People remember the tattoo scandal and chastise Urban for lying about his health issues. I hear all the time down here in Nashville, "I hate Ohio State and can't stand Urban Meyer".
Sucks you have to deal with haters on both of your football teams.
I think Miami would be more fun than Dallas... Hotter women and better weather.
Source: I've been to Miami for a bachelor party
I did the same thing... would probably be more comfortable in an XL. Mine is a little tight around the armpit area, but def managable and I'm not parting ways with it since I wore it while witnessing history in Dallas. The new Nike Jerseys are def cut a little more slim than in the past.
