Grant was born and raised in the Buckeye state, and from a young age was surrounded by numerous legions of the Ohio State faithful whose fervor he witnessed on a regular basis. Despite having no real ties to the University except for being an Ohioan, Grant continually rooted for the Scarlet & Gray as much as a nine-year-old boy could. It was ultimately a combination of NCAA Football 2003 and the miracle that was the 2002 season that finally turned his passive passion into a vigorous one. Since then the Bucks have been central to his existence; he even roamed the same high school halls as Mike Nugent, AJ Hawk and Kirk Herbstreit. His love for all things Buckeye culminated in his decision to attend Ohio State where he is currently a sophomore majoring in journalism. He is entirely too invested in Celtic Football Club, and he can typically be found either at Cane's or watching reruns of "Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide".

I can't find this year's tiebreaking procedure, but according to last year's it would go to the head-to-head record of the two teams. In that case, OSU would be the 1 seed. Nebraska is also actually in the race for the conference title: if Ohio State and Indiana split and Nebraska wins their final two games, there will be a three-way tie for first. Luckily, the Buckeyes went 2-1 agaisnt the Cornhuskers this year, meaning they'd get the one seed. But, Minnesota can actually also get a share of the title if they win both games and Ohio State wins only one. Then the Gophers would be the 1 seed since they beat the Buckeyes twice.

I'm glad you mentioned those "bUCkeye State" shirts. There were quite a few UC fans at my suburban Dayton high school, and I saw way too many of those slogans. Just the memory of the shirt made our Sweet 16 win last year that much sweeter for me personally.

As a young boy growing up in Centerville I was extremely lucky to have a dad who brought me to each high school football game from an early age, and because of that I will always have great memories of Hawk. He was even more of a beast than in college, and I still think of him as a running back rather than a linebacker because at that age offense was all I cared about. A true OSU legend, plus nobody flips off his own sideline like AJ.
