That's correct. It's in the article as well.
I don't know this for a fact, but I'd say yes you are required to take classes to play sports. If you weren't taking any classes you wouldn't be a student-athlete. What I'm not sure about is if you could just take 1 class if you already have a degree and play. I think Matt Leinart only took ballroom dancing his senior year.
No problem. I think its just news because he told SI he was coming back but he wouldn't say it was 100%. To me it just seems like the SI report from today is just selectively using the first half of the quote since he did say he was returning.
SI didn't sit on it. It was in the recap after the B1G championship.
Yep, was pretty cool of them. Here's an article that has a short tid-bit about it.
AJ, Carpenter, and Schlegal grew their hair out long to honor Pat Tillman. I like that part of the story.
The difference between the two is that last year Clowney was only a true sophomore. He didn't have a choice; he couldn't go pro because his HS graduation class wasn't three years removed. It was either play for SC, go to Canada/Arena League, or don't play. Shazier is a true junior so he has a choice whether or not he wants to leave. Big difference between the two situations.
That's the same thing Mark May said when OSU played Wisky earlier this year. Before the game he said he thought Wisky would win, but when OSU won he said they didn't have an impressive enough game to stand out. But I would expect nothing less out of fat Urkal.
This game has a special place in my heart as it was the first one I ever attended.
I was on Park 3 for my freshman year (2006) and the same thing happened to my floor. Kids just took the garbage cans into the showers and dumped them into the hallway for a giant slip and slid. The hall director was pissed.
Also, some kid came wondering in with a case of beer right before we were about go out and jump. The hall director saw him and yelled at him that he couldn't be in there with beer. He just looked at her and did the Heisman pose with the beer and sprinted out.
Needless to say it was a good night.
I think the problem with your logic is the fact is that Rich was running with Nick Sheridan, Tate Forcier, and Denard in sophmore year. I'll take Braxton and/or Guiton running our offense over those three clowns anyday.
We gave up 24 to Wisconsin. It seems like we are just playing down to people and that needs to change. Our team has found a way to win the past two years and I'm going to keep thinking they will find that way to win until they prove to me otherwise.
I was gonna post the same thing. It was our second TD that had the failed 2 pt conversion. Not that it mattered, still a great write up. Love seeing the post game quotes.
That post-game interview where Bray said something along the lines of "that's what we get paid to do" is even more comical now. Freudian slip of the tongue there.
When I went to gameday before The Game in 2006 someone had a sign that said "Watch out Lloyd Carr we made Joe Pa crap his pants" or something to that effect. Still one of my all time favorite signs.
2006, my freshman year at OSU. Couldn't wait for summer to end and get to Columbus to start class. Pair that with the hype for football season and I couldn't wait. Things went so well until January.
I still have the SI with Downing, Smith, and Datish on it and also the one from after The Game.
Cane's is always on the food bucket list for each trip to Columbus.
I went with 247 as well. Although I get most of my info from 11W if I'm looking to get some info on a player 247 is where I go.
Also, Andy if I'm reading your 247 idea correctly they have instituted that as well. I'm not sure when they started it, but if you click on person who is making the prediction in the crystal ball it will show you what percentage of picks that person has been correct on.
I'm late to the party but this seems like a pretty good way to end an otherwise boring Tuesday!!
This is moving from a bad dream to a nightmare. What is going on?!?!
Only 1 (33, James Laurinaitis at purchase time). I refuse to buy the screen printed jersey because I'm afraid the numbers are going to wash off. I wanted to buy a Braxton (home) and Shazier (away) before the season last year, but everywhere I looked only had screen printed.
I'll be in Columbus Sept 9th-11th and I'm hoping I can find those two down there since it will be right at the start of the season. Gonna do my best to get up to three by the end of the year.
I believe the 2011 game to Penn State is considered a loss for Ohio State. Because it was vacated Penn State can not consider it an official victory but Ohio State still shows the loss.
From wiki (I'm assuming this is right I don't have time to actually read the NCAA manual):
"In the case of regular season games, the penalized team's win is removed from its official NCAA record. The losing team, however, retains the loss, and individual statistics resulting from the subject game(s) are not affected other than for players declared specifically ineligible."
I think mine is 28. 25-3, not a bad percentage.
Breakdown by year.
2005: 1-0, went to the Michigan State game
2007: 6-0, roommates parents came down so I gave them my Illinois ticket
2008: 4-1, Penn State was the first loss I saw live
2009: 5-1, damn USC
2010: 1-0, went to Indiana game
2011: 0-1, went to Michigan State game
2012: 1-0, went to Illinois game
I may try and snag a student section ticket if I'm in Columbus for a gameday. The game isn't very fun to watch in a non-student section so if I don't get a student ticket, probably won't be going.
I wanted to go to Eat Too, Brutus but I'm in a wedding that weekend so that plan got scratched.
OH yeah!! It's all coming together now!!
I did a quick search since I remember seeing an article in The Lantern about numbers and construction. The article is from Feb 2012 but it states there was about $2B worth of construction going on around campus.
