thats probably fair. I don't think I'd want any part of bama in a bowl game if OSU was eligible
The handling of this mess, from December to now, has been really strange by OSU.
The head coach represents the University. Tressel is one of the most publicly known representatives for OSU. People around the country that think of OSU often will think of Tressel. How people think about him affects how they think about the University.
I am about to finish up a graduate degree from OSU after getting my undergraduate there 4 years ago. In a job interview I had in January, the interviewer broke the ice at the start by saying he didn't know much about college football but he wanted to know what was going on with the 5 players suspended for next season. Needless to say, that was not how I wanted to spend time during my interview.
In Tressel's comments he's seemed to be deliberately not apologize for DOING it, just for the distraction. As you pointed out, it seems to say that he feels he didn't do anything wrong or that there is more to the story then what we've heard. I don't know all of the details yet and I am not going to rush to judgment, but I am deeply disappointed that this distraction colors how people view my University where I spent 9 years as a student.
due to awful planning, i'm going to be flying during the game tonight. Any of you know of a way to watch the bowl game on the internet? I'd try to use the inflight internet obviously.
If so it would go to show the depth of the B10 THIS year which some of the people on this board in the last couple weeks have completely discounted.
"Ohio State got exposed, simple as that. Credit where credit's due: they didn't quit and actually showed fight despite a huge deficit. Maybe the first (and only) time you can say that about a Tressel coached Buckeyes team facing an uphill battle."
- Michigan 05, fought back from a 2 score deficit and took the lead late. Texas in 2008 showed a whole lot of fight too.
Wisconsin sure as shit looked like the better team saturday night. We couldn't stop their run game all night and gillreath looked FAST on that return.
I guess I'm confused. What do you expect, undefeated and a national championship every year? It's really hard to go undefeated only a couple teams do it every year. You shouldn't act like the sky is falling if your team gets 1 or 2 losses a year- that is a fairweather fan.
Hall and Berry didn't carry at all against Miami, by FAR the best defense we've seen so far. That does skew their ypc a bit. Still I'd like to see them too.
I'm fine with giving some quasi meaningful snaps to bauserman, otherwise if TP is injured he will have to come in without much game experience.
