Just throwing this out there; this isn't a horrible Northwestern team. Their last 3 games prior: lost in OT at Sparty after leading at the end of regulation, lost by 5 to Illinois, lost by 2 at TTUN. They're competing with most teams, just don't have the experience to get over the hump yet. I'd look at this game with more optimism if I were any of you: Russell has the ability to singlehandedly carry this team to close wins. I still think he'll improve in bigger games (where he has struggled) as he gains more experience.
Just my opinion, I think the fact that we fell behind 21-6 early and all the haters started crowing made the eventual win that much sweeter.
If he's out for the year and leaves this year, his pro potential is purely as an athlete. If he takes the hypothetical redshirt, comes back and has a successful senior season, he may get his shot as a QB. His decision may come down to how much playing QB at the next level means to him.
I'm still holding out hope that this injury is minor enough for him to be back for Sparty, but I'm not optimistic. Get well soon Brax!
What did I just watch...
These guys are just flat out good. Already took the indoor national title, hopefully this is the year Coach Tucker gets his year-end championship!
I need to get up to Breck to find Bauserman. It's my new goal
Polls matter very little with the playoff IMO. If we run the table, we're in. If we lose even one game I bet we get left out due to the national perception of the B1G. Especially with the SEC almost certainly getting 2 bids with 2 one loss teams
Long live the Kenny Guiton GIFs
Time to work on his French.
Not afraid to admit that I shed a tear reading this. Good luck in the future Mr. Craft!
I love the fact that LeBron was completely set up to fail
A somewhat distant cousin of mine. It's disappointing how little I actually know about his presidency, but everyone tells me he was absolute shit...
Will vote for him in every round nonetheless. Go cousin Warren!
I had the same thought when I read his quote. Love the confidence, but we can't assume we'll "beat up" on anybody, Dayton included.
I just don't see Izzo not making the final four this year. They're the only B1G team that will even come close IMO, but I just can't picture Payne graduating without a final four appearance.
I was all set to pick Sparty all the way. Then all 4 ESPN bracketologists picked them, and I have to find a new champion.
I can't help but imagine how good this team could have been if we had landed Rodney Hood. Could have been better than the team last year IMO. But it is what it is, and all things considered I think Thad deserves a lot of credit for this team being relevant despite the offensive woes. It should say something about his coaching ability that a team likely to be seeded in the 5/6 range feels like a disappointment. I could legitimately see us losing on Thursday/Friday or making a run all the way to Dallas, and I don't think either would surprise me. I just want Craft's legacy to end in a fitting way.
Nebraska deserves a bid just as much as "lock" Iowa. I think they're set.
That was Dan Dakich's son. More reason to hate him.
As someone who has watched a lot of both teams this year, I say Ohio State wins by 5.
Remember the Louisville athletic department's dream year last year? Men's basketball champs, women's basketball runners-up, and that shocking win over Florida in the Sugar Bowl.
I have convinced myself that this is the Sparty athletic department's dream year, and my bracket will reflect it.
Just like the Iowa game, didn't finish. Too bad we don't get a chance for revenge in A2, hopefully we meet em in the conference tourney.
The page source is officially my favorite part of the new site.
Check that, just saw Duke is the hypothetical 3 seed. I'd take them over Sparty and us.
If by some miracle we beat Kentucky, I'd have us in the final 4 in that bracket. Which is crazy since I don't think this is a final 4 team. But a 3rd game against a Sparty team we almost beat on the road in the elite 8? I'd be down
Jamarco wants to visit Sparty, we say okay, wait it out, and it works out. Sparty commit Slade wants to visit Ohio State and they immediately pull his offer? Not sure where Dantonio is going with this one, but hey, his loss is our gain.
