Good news if you do prefer your halftime analysis delivered in the form of a borderline-senile, blathering senseless Buckeye bashing man: Mark May…    A little more truthful?

Just what I was thinking about, we put that banner up and our second (?) favorite B1G coach was fired.

Comment 07 Nov 2013

...and play for a four-loss Michigan team, right?

I see what you did there, Nice!

" He says Michigan State "exposed" Michigan last Saturday."

-Wait until the Bucks are done with them!

Comment 04 Nov 2013

UGGHHHH! Does anyone know if the basketball game will be streamed anywhere?

Comment 04 Nov 2013

Those Bastards… I need to see if there is any chance I might get it down here in Virginia, I will go through withdraws if I don’t get my Buckeye fix!

Comment 04 Nov 2013

No Buckeye football or the Browns... At least the Basketball Bucks have a game!

I get enjoyment knowing he's out there, watching his team get rolled up like a Cuban cigar and smoked in a similar fashion. I hope Ohio State makes that guy cry this weekend.

Ah yes, some things best served cold (and smoked) year after year after year….  I know the Bucks will beat them this year and if OSU rolls back into beaver stadium next year and hands them another loss … Cry baby Cry!!!

I hope that Aaron Craft can play at the next level, I have enjoyed watching him play for THE OSU as he has grown and developed and would like to keep watching him play and grow. One top quality kid, and I agree, he is definitely one of the finest student athletes who have ever played for Ohio State.

ok, ok in the spirit of Woody, as long as you fill'er up before you cross that border and try not to buy any more while you are in that God forsaken place! I've only be there once when I was 5 yrs old for a wrestling tournament. Don't remember much, but I do remember telling a kid I was getting ready to wrestle, who was from there, that I was going to beat him because he was from there.

JCCESNER,
I understand and agree somewhat, my hate of all things Pittsburgh is not as great as yours and maybe my standard of what a rival game should be is a little high. I grew up going to OSU games in the 70’s and I know what it felt like back then when THE GAME had a little more relevance than it has had in the last few years.
I just think that if Wicky falls back into the mediocrity that it was in before Alvarez gave them the identity that they have now or if O’Brien has a few off years where we take a commanding lead in the series against PSU then the Rivalry that is growing between us will quickly be forgotten. In a good rivalry, the passion and hate for each other will not fad.

Thanks Doc,

I have respect for Barry Alvarez and how he turned around the Wisky program. (but I could not stand Bert Bellamy.) I have respect for O’Brien and how he has held the nittany lions together. I will befriend someone from Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
I loth anyone who has been the head coach of meatchiken  be it Bo, LLLLLoyd, Rich Rod or the current tub of lard, I will not break bead with or befriend someone who is a SCum fan nor do I travel in that dammed land to the north.
For me that is what a rivalry is all about.

Doc, I understand what you are saying and to answer your question, I’m pissed off when we lose no matter WHO we lose to. PSU fans look at it as one of the biggest games they play all year, that’s no different than any other B1G team, beating OSU can make a season for any B1G team.  For me it’s just another game.

My point is that no other rivalry, not just in college football but all sports, is as great or has the history as the one we have with that dammed hunk of land up to the north. As states we have hated each other since the 1835-6 Toledo war, once we started playing football against each other in the late 1800’s that hate we have naturally manifested itself as the rivalry we have today. Sure, we can call other games like Penn State a ”rivalry” but I cannot fathom it being even close to level that THE GAME is at, and to me that is the Gold standard of what a rivalry is. I HATE us losing to anyone equally except for those (insert explicative here) up north, that ruins a season for me like no other loss and why Cooper drove me nuts.
For me, for it to be a true rivalry it takes a few decades, a lot of pain inflicted on both sides and the dashing of national title hopes after a game.  Now, some of this is taking shape with PSU but think it needs more time.

The Ohio State game is essential to Penn State's Big Ten history.

It is a much bigger deal for PSU fans than for us …   As Ohio State fans, we grew up with a true dislike for “the whole state of Michigan” that has been a part of being a buckeye since our states almost fought a border war when they were formed. Our hate for each other is passed from generation to generation. We know what a true rivalry feels and looks like, PSU is not it. It might become a “rivalry” as time goes on, but it is not THE GAME that we know is one of the best rivalries in history.

^^^I agree with TMAC^^^

I live in a part of the country that has folks from all over the country, Ohio, meatchicken and Pennsylvania are well represented down here. Over the years I have made friends with Penn State grads but never anyone from Scum! Penn state fans take the Game between our schools as a rivalry and get worked up for the yearly series, where I look at it as just another good game.  It is a much bigger deal to the Penn state fans than it is for OSU so I can’t call it a true rivalry, YET.

I agree, the Bucks will get the first rushing TD on the hawks!    And the second.... and the third...

Comment 11 Oct 2013

Ohio or hell (judging by Michigan's performance) even Akron would give the Buckeyes a much more respectable game?

Um, Yes!

Loved your rhetorical question, sorry that I answered it...  just could not help myself.

Exactly what I was thinking Hove, a little heavy on the starch and not enough MEAT. VT is ok but I don’t think they will give us much of a fight, but the rest will be little more than “practice” games.  I don’t want a schedule that will leave the Bucks worn out before the B1G slate starts but some tougher opponents to help with the overall SOS would be nice.
