1. Oakland

2. TTUN

Only 2 options as I see it.  Oakland he'd get complete control, a matching compensation package, and could stay in the Bay Area.  Otherwise the TTUN's appeal has to be tremendous.

Even Hoke got great recruiting classes.  If you can recruit Stanford to a national champion contender level, scUM should be no problem.  With his pro-style approach, and recent success in the NFL he'd attract tremendous talent.  I don't think it'd be very hard for him to get back to winning 10 games a year minimum.  Next year they'll suck because they have like 6 recruits.  But he beat USC in their prime as a 41 pt underdog.

Harbaugh's under contract.  49ers aren't likely to fire him so he can go anywhere he wants.  The Browns showed NFL teams would be willing to offer draft picks to get him.  So I don't see how he'd be able to go to Chicago or Atlanta, since they're in the NFC.  Likely they'd want to see him go to an AFC team, and so they'd either trade him or if they do fire him to avoid the $5 million they owe him, he could stay in the Bay Area and get complete control of the Raiders' franchise.  Their coach and GM have not impressed, despite having nothing to work with.

Harbaugh has legitimate options to coach in the NFL, but there's plus and minuses with every job.  You seem to just ignore that he loves that university, and if he wasn't coaching in the NFL that's where he'd want to be.  Tack on $50 million dollars, and I think it'd be hard to turn down.  scUM usually has great recruiting classes, they just haven't developed talent.  I think Harbaugh is their only chance at redemption.

With Kiper it's all about measurables.  So Cardale's height, weight, build, and arm strength are desirable.  He'd have to show a lot at the Combine and his pro day if he wanted to get drafted.

Beating Alabama's defense with the whole world watching would also get others to ignore the fact he doesn't have a lot of tape.

JT Barrett said Cardale throws 70 yard bombs in pregrame.  The first TD in the B1G Championship Game was a nice long throw.  That speaks to his arm strength, but not much else.  I think he has Jamarcus Russell type measurables, but he wouldn't want that comparison in NFL circles.

He's a great coach.  I want to beat good scUM teams, not beat ones that lost to Rutgers and Maryland.  It's hard for anybody to turn down $50 million dollars.

"Well then, I guess there's only one thing left to do."

What's that?

"Win the whole fucking thing."

Delany was a cheerleader for the Buckeyes getting into the playoff.  He did much better than the leader of the Big 12 conference who wouldn't pick a champion.  I'm not a Delany fan, but as others have said it's not his fault so many programs in the B1G suck.  Didn't Maryland and Rutgers beat scUM??  They're the university that needs to step back up to former glory.

$1.35 million/year would make him the highest paid assistant in the country by a decent amount.  He just won the award for best assistant in the country, so it could be justified, but it still doesn't make a ton of sense.  There are head coaches in the B1G barely making that.  This is a head coaching opportunity that will lead to a better head coaching opportunity if he's successful.  The same route Briles and Sumlin went.  It sucks to lose him, but he had to take it.

I could see at 18 years old maybe not wanting to have a family member constantly watching over you once you head to college.  But when that family member is a coach for one of the best football programs in America, well I guess that wouldn't be so bad either.  Obviously his parents would lean OSU.

I'd prefer to only read about football recruiting, but the Mitchell brothers' story intrigued me.  Can't believe Mickey is still a Buckeye.  I'd also forgotten about Malik McDowell already.  I'm pretty excited about our current team, and the way UFM is replenishing the roster with the Elite 15'

You want cursed?  Look at ND or TTUN.  You can't win a National Championship every year.  I could name 20 programs that consider themselves at the top of college football that haven't won a championship since the last time we did.  Next year when we have another Heisman winner and a National Championship trophy I doubt you'll be thinking so negatively.
